Reviews for Panglao Chocolate Hills Resort

Review 1:The owner and the staff are very kind and helpful. We didn't arrive to the place on the first booked night and we're supposed to pay full price but the owner considered our reason and we got it for free instead. Talking about being kind!

Review 2:- water was only available cold, it leaked and was splashing everywhere, then it stopped working completely. Water from the sink tasted salty when brushing teeth. - the floor of the bathroom was constantly full of water - the bathroom was shared with your next door room, and had two doors connected to it that could be locked from the inside of the bathroom. We were locked out 2 x by the other guests and could not use it. We had to wait until someone from the reception would open it for us. - the 'walk-in discount' was more expensive than booking it online through booking.com - we were told another price at checking in than when we had to pay at checking out - half of their menu was not available because they were out of stock. - prices of the menu were way too expensive and nothing in close vicinity to eat at, except the beach - it was further away from Alona beach than stated on the website and booking.com > 7 km away, we had to pay 150 to 200 php everytime for a tricycle to get to the beach. - You can literally hear your neighbours breathing on the other side of the wall, woken up constantly by their talking, music or walking around - if not by the LOUD karaoke that someone from the staff would sing at 9 am

Review 3:the seating area with the pool around it, and the balconies of the huts

Review 4:The place is relatively new compared to the other hotels so public transportation (busses/ habal habals/ hired drivers) was a bit difficult since most do not where the place is. You'd better take note of landmarks beside the hotel to guide the driver to the place. It's also too bad that cable wasn't available during our stay.

Review 5:The room is average and spacious enough for its price. It is also 15minutes away from the beach so you can drop by if you have time. The free breakfast served is also good enough to fill you up for a long day touring Bohol. The staff were very accommodating as well,

Review 6:The other guests were too loud and noisy. We can clearly hear the noises from the other rooms. The beach is not walking distance, honestly. You better have your own car or other transportation for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Review 7:Clean place, huge and comfortable rooms for four people especially that it has no aircon, very nice and attentive staff. It is very good considering that we are only paying less than the other nearby resorts.

Review 8:There is plenty of dust in the guest room. You can hear sounds from your neighbor travelers which is really loud. The restroom design is weird that two rooms share one which locates in two different guests rooms and can be opened by two doors. The restroom is uncomfortable.

Review 9:I like the design of this resort. Very traditionally Filipino. Staffs are all kind and nice and helpful.

Review 10:Far from the beach, far from restaurants (it's good to rent a motorbike and go to Alona for a lunch/dinner), cold water only, but during hot days it's ok

Review 11:Big room for two, swimming pool, friendly stuff, possibility to rent a motorbike here

Review 12:I arrive at the resort at 3pm in the afternoon, exhausted from my tour only to find out that i'm the only guess in the whole resort! I was also informed that the room doesn't have a CR inside. The place is so far from the activity area of the island. And I was told that it has just opened again, meaning, whatever review is in here is not updated.

Review 13:Nothing!!!

Review 14:no supply of toiletries..maybe because the room rate is already cheap..understandable.

Review 15:The staff are very nice and friendly, accommodating and flexible.

Review 16:The service was very bad : Swimming pool green. Mosquitos. The staff doesn't want to make any effort for us. No breakfast when they do not want. No help to find a shop or interest in the island. Rent a moto broken. We had to repair it during our day with our own money, and they still ask us money to repair again.. No drinks except beers. Not a word to give service. We were travelling with a baby, and one night when we came back at the hotel, we ask for dinner at 7pm and they answer : "no service tonight." and do not want to help... Just the opposite of all others hotels we have been in Philippines ! A big disapointment to be in this hotel.. We pay for a room of 4 persons. We were 2 at arrival, and some friends had joined us. They ask to pay more because they arrive later than us.. Feeling to be only a wallet.

Review 17:The room was clean. But it is the only thing to appreciate there.

Review 18:The place is in a great quiet location. You ca easily rent a scooter and head down to alona beach. The staff are amazing and make you feel at home. The rooms are unique and overall the hotel was a great experience

Review 19:The exotic archtecture and the natural look is very awesome. The staff is very polite. The site is secure for the young children and one can leave them almost without control. As the bar and the restaurant is in teh middle of the small houses, you can easily meet the other guest and have conversations. One cannot be alone there. It is not so far from a perfect beach Dimaluan which is situated 15 min walk from the hotel (road and than beach walking). You can also hire a motobike and go to Alona beach (10min) or Panglao/Bohol island tour. You can also have a taxi island tour and sea tour (snorkling, diving) for very cheap price. It was a great fun.

Review 20:They serve breakfat only with small servings. The water from the faucet is super dirty its like a mud. The toilet is really bad They also have linta in the pool. The staff is not really freindly They close the gate by 7pm and open it by 6am Too far from the restaurats. No life at all

Review 21:Nothing the place is totally bad!

Review 22:The dining experience was bizarre. A rather odd, limited menu. Dining staff seemed to lack experience. It was difficult to exchange one item for another on the menu. The pool, according to the pix, looked bigger.

Review 23:The little pool that encircled the dining area was awesome. The kids could swim while waiting for our food.

Review 24:Very bad experience. No Wifi, Half the menu unavailable and charge if you bring food or drink from somewhere else. Pool is a a small circle around eating area. Staff not attentive and badly trained, there for looks more than anything. A lot more but could not be bothered. Give it a miss.

Review 25:Remote, Too many rules, too far from the beach, boring, nothing to do, captive to their food & expensive prices, no choice, much better to stay in Alona beach where the action is.

Review 26:Nothing.

Review 27:Good location, cheap and nice!

Review 28:we dont like the water coming from their Shower and Tab.

Review 29:1.You can easily hear sound from the neighbors. 2. No Wifi in room. 3. Breakfast ist not good.

Review 30:No hot shower, serves only break fast foods and salty water @ T & B

Review 31:The place is clean, quite, comfortable and safe

Review 32:Breakfast is not so delicious

Review 33:Nice and comfortable

Review 34:The staff, the manager, the rooms, the food

Review 35:Nothing to like

Review 36:Pool table, swimmingpool and nice people, all you need!

Review 37:they close at 6pm no food available at dinner far from restaurants or convenience stores very dark at night no free toiletries or water

Review 38:room

Review 39:first, directions must be clear. next, resort must have 24 hours front desk. in case of need we can request any time. not maintained properly.

Review 40:none

Review 41:if u want sleep before 10pm .. you cant coz is noise if you are near the bar.

Review 42:the stuff they good and friendly also the boss

Review 43:1. This place is so isolated and too far from town. 2. There is no public transportation to this place and the only way to get out of is to use thier transportation with fee. 3. They lock the perimeter gate so there is way you can get in and out at night.

Review 44:1. Their cottages are clean and cozy. 2. The staff are nice and helpful. 3. We only sleep there at night and is quiet.

Review 45:We only stayed there for a night because it was far from everything. The kitchen closes at 10pm. No one was left there at the reception after that time. The staff weren't attentive. They can still improve.

Review 46:It was clean and quiet.

Review 47:Hard to find. Tell driver it's close to Amarela resort. Foam pillows were hard. The biggest thing that forced us to move were the neighbouring roosters that kept us awake much of the night.

Review 48:Lovely location away from the hustle and bustle. 10 min walk to a beautiful beach where you will be on your own. Nice helpful staff and manager. Good food and comfy beds.

Review 49:Main disappointment was that the hotel is very far from Alona beach ( at the time of booking this hotel it's description at booking.com was stating 3 minutes walk from Alona beach, now they have corrected the mistake). Getting to Alona beach costs you every time you go there, good thing that the hotel transfer price is fair. There is not much to do outside the hotel.

Review 50:Family of 4 with 2 kids stayed in the delux. Interesting design - we have had a palm tree in the middle of our bungalow! Swimming pool was kids' main attraction. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Massage ordered into the room was very good.

Review 51:It is not too far from a beach, but not THE ONE you want to go to (Alona beach). You'll have to pay a transport every time you want to go there or come back since it's too far to walk (about 15 minutes in motor bike). There is nothing interesting around the hotel at all. The restaurant has very limited choices, we would have like to have one or two vegetarian options. Staff lack of enthousiasm. After 3 nights, we had to empty the bathroom bin ourselves and find another plastic bag. This is a new hotel, we are sure they will get better with time.

Review 52:The room we had was very nice, spacious and clean. The courtyard is beautiful, surrounded by a pool. Two of the three owners helped us during the time we were there and we found them very nice and helpful.

Review 53:only down side is this resort is 80K's from the actual chocolate hills

Review 54:Friendly staff clean resort loved the bungalo style , food was ok but limited menu but im sure as this place grows it will improve

Review 55:The friendly and helpful staff, the pool- and bar-area. The hut was small but tidy and had all facilities needed.

Review 56:We enjoyed our stay there and its very comfortable and the staff are approachable

Review 57:The food and beverages were not that affordable..

Review 58:The place was clean, quiet

Review 59:swiming pool location good for to any place

Review 60:I just loved it. Nothing to add.

Review 61:Very nice place, very affordable.
