Hostel Sydney Backpackers sells fast on our site. Sydney Backpackers is a trendy hostel in the heart of Sydney’s central business district, a 30 minute drive from Sydney Airport. It offers a rooftop terrace with barbecue facilities, free Wi-Fi access, and a fully equipped common kitchen.

Review 1：Stayed in a 10-bed female dorm over 5 nights. Very often occupants would bring food into the room and cause unpleasant odour. Lounge room is spacious but needs more chairs so that people can have their meals on around the tables instead of having to sit on the floor or on the couch.

Review 2：Staff were friendly and helpful. People who stated there were nice. Bathrooms were clean and there were no noise or disturbance at night. Value for money and excellent location.

Review 3：Various people moved out of our 16 bed dorm (including us) after a particularly bad night. Beds weren't numbered or allocated so we had no idea which were occupied and no one in the room or staff seemed to know either. Led to us setting up on other peoples beds on three occasions. Would recommend paying extra for a dorm with fewer people.

Review 13：Blanket they gave me was wet. Extremely noisy people in the halls throughout the night, people are very inconsiderate. Baggage storeage not secure, you just helped yourself to the luggage room. Only given one sheet and one thin blanket, so was cold during the night.

Review 15：Where To Begin. They Only Want Your Money Here. Staff are rude, non -helpful and basically don't care about their guests. I stayed there over a month and found this place horrible. Sharing a dormitory with others. No sleep with people snoring loud every night. Staff seem less interested in helping out their long term guests. Even though you are a regular stayed they still will charge you the daily rate if your not too sure how long you are staying. 178 is the weekly rate but you can't get this per day if your not too sure how long your staying there for. Toilets are dirty there too often. Unhygienic. Bad experience ms. Will never ever return again.

Review 24：The beds are hard as the floor. The pillow cases are in plastic, literally. And almost 200 dollars per week to sleep with in a 16 dormitory room, it's quite awful. You pay for the location. Depending on your luck, you'll meet new friends, or you wont talk to anyone at all.

The location is gold (almost right on Georges St, next to Town Hall, in the heart of the city really) and the terrace is very nice and almost always empty.

Also, we were asked to move rooms in the middle of our stay (from a room with two twin beds to a room with a bunk bed. We got no explanation, no apology and we were not allowed to move our stuff into the new room, so we had to leave it unattended until checkin. Once we actually got the new room it hadn't been cleaned. - so why couldn't we just put our luggage in there when we had to checkout? )

Review 34：I have several reasons why I'm not going back to this hostel: 1. Dirty toilets/restrooms - it's as if the staff are not cleaning regularly. 2. The room is too crowded and not that spacious. 3. You will not feel comfortable with the pillow and mattress. They're not fluffy. Very bad quality. 4. Some of the staff are not friendly/approachable. 5. Too expensive for the quality of services I received. Not worth its price. 6. Building looks old.

Review 35：The only thing I like about this hostel is its location. It's already in CBD. George St., where you can ride a bus, is 10-20 steps away from the hostel. Town Hall Station is the nearest train station and it's just 2-3 minute away from the hostel. You can just walk if you wanna go to Darling Harbour, Chinatown or Paddy's Market. Circular Quay is just a 5-10 minute bus ride away if you wanna see the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House. Another thing I like is its free wi-fi. However, you can only access it in the lobby and not in the rooms most of the time. But it wasn't working properly for 2-3 days during my 5-day stay.

And we asked, if the backpacker provide shuttle bus. We DIDN'T get answer. They put us in the most noisy room, where were just long-term backpackers. That we didn't get our bunk, that is fine. I didn't care. But the people in room very noisy, talking extremely loudly (almost shouting), laughing, calling and so on at least till we decided to leave the room (00:30). We asked them twice to be quiet, that we want to sleep. Answer was - "We usually go to bed at 1 AM, today maybe later. We work so now we want to chat." Nobody at reception. So we luckily found another 12 bed dorm with two free beds, so we moved there. No refund, just appology from woofers. Manager wasn't there and of course didn't pick up his phone. WORST IS IF YOU CAN'T SLEEP, WHEN YOU ARE PAYING FOR PLACE TO SLEEP. Also this backpacker at all is really ugly and unfriendly place. YOU WILL FIND MUCH BETTER PLACES IN SYDNEY!!!! FOR SURE!!!
