Reviews for Mare Sanat
Review 1:Last check-in stated as 1700, but owner fully ok and helpful when phoned saying we'd be later. Proximity to Tata Steel works, but that doesn't detract from the hotel or the village apart from it's hard not to notice it at times.
Review 2:Location good for village and v nice beach. Everything about this old ex-Doctors' residence was pleasing.
Review 3:I don't like carpetfloor, but that's just the smallest minus aspect of this hotel.
Review 4:Nice place to stay. Nice people, location and performance to price.
Review 5:The quiet, simplicity and wonderful nature Position, position, position! and our great hosts. Breakfast is superb and Barbara and Fok just make you feel at home. Usually, after discovering new areas of natural beauty or simply walking along the amazing coastline, we go for a fish lunch to the port at Imudjen a short distance away.
Review 6:Parking was slightly difficult
Review 7:Location
Review 8:The view from the room.the back rooms offer no view at all. Makes the room dark

Review 14:I thought the furnature could have been updated a little in the bedroom.
Review 15:Loved the bathroom facilities they were clean and new and fresh. breakfast was very nice.
Review 16:The first set of stairs were quite narrow and steep, which people with limited mobility would struggle with. However, there were one or two ground floor bedrooms and we do appreciate it is the style and age of the building.
Review 17:Friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietor and staff. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice with a good choice of food.
Review 18:No tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Extractor fan notworking in bathroom and lock stuck open, no lock at all on toilet doorwhich was strange. Top of cupboards and non working extractor fan dirty. No lock on window, not brilliant view. Limited breakfast.
Review 19:Location for beach and local village good, generally good looking hotelinside and out. Staff helpful. Room generally fair.
Review 20:The only minor niggle was the bedroom décor, brown carpet and darkgold wallpaper made the room look rather drab, could do withfreshening up a bit.
Review 21:Hotel is in a great location, only 300 yards or so from the lovely beachat Wijk aan Zee. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was simple but more than adequate. Room was clean andspacious. There is an honesty Bar in the Hotel lobby. All in all, apleasant hotel to stay in.
Review 22:very small toilet, also the ventilation of toliet and bathroom could be better
Review 23:Very good beds en the breakfast was also very good, Very close to the beach and some restaurants
Review 24:The picture on the web site implies the hotel is in country side. It's not. Wijk Ann zee is a heavy industrial area, it is surroundedby factory's spilling out smoke and steam. The airsmells and tastesof the smoke. We went for a drink in the whiskey bar a local pup. To saywe were made to feel unwelcomed would be an understatement.
Review 25:The staff were friendly.
Review 26:Rooms a little old-fashioned in decor but that's really not a problem :)
Review 27:Friendly people, comfortable room, quiet, nice breakfast and great location by the beach just 100m from the sea. Free parking and wifi also. Lots of restaurants very close by
Review 28:Advertised as double room but 2 single beds pushed together with singlebedding on each. Not very good for cuddling upto boyfiend
Review 29:The style and decor of hotel. Very clean. Owners very friendly andhospitable
Review 30:The room was nice albeit somewhat outdated. Staff was interesting, olderpeople, I don't suspect them to have worked in the service industrybefore opening this hotel. They're kind, but everything they say feelspracticed, rehearsed before to a 100 guests before me. No adaptationfrom their side, just another record spun over and over, making thishotel perhaps better suited for elderly people or those who do not mindrepetition. They have an onsite sauna and jacuzzi, it's set lovely in the dune hills, but I feared going into the steam room, I'm no expert, but if I were salmonella, I'd probably hang out in that steam room. It looked as if it had not been properly cleaned in quite some time. Also breakfast is only till 10.
Review 31:Nice view from room 6.
Review 32:My wife and I enjoyed our short stay in North Holland based at thissmall and very friendly hotel set in an interesting location near theNorth Sea dunes. The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the breakfasts were fine! Staff were exceedingly pleasant. We haveno hestitation in recommending this hotel and will use it again nexttime we are in the area.
Review 33:Be prepared for Europes fascination with wet rooms, meaning yourbathroom floor will get wet when showering, but does dry fairly quickly.
Review 34:It is a wonderful location to stay at while doing day trips ofsurrounding areas. The staff is helpful, courteous, & let us taketeacups up to our rooms for our nighttime cuppa. The breakfast was morethan we could of asked. Would very much recommend.
