Reviews for Hotel Galicja Wellness & SPA
Review 1:nothing negative
Review 2:Clean rooms, friendly staff. Outstanding dinner and at great value. Waiter never let our glasses run empty. We are planning on going back and have told friends.
Review 3:Absolute excellant hotel lovely rooms spa restaurants pub. All you need in one location.Easy to get to Aushwitz please use taxi though which is about £3.50. As it would be easy to get lost.
Review 4:Waited 15 minutes for seating in the Polish restaurant but no staff came so had to go across to the Italian restaurant which was disappointing as had looked forward to sampling Polish food.
Review 5:Lovely hotel in a good location for Auschwitz visitors
Review 6:A lot of 4 star hotels have lower standards in the visage and the quality. The room is big, quality materials were used. The restaurant is very nice, among their visitors were even European kings and ministers, what is a guarantee for the quality meal. We were more than satisfied with everything.
Review 7:The single rooms are small, cramped and not well equipped with No kettle hairdryer or fridge. Slanting ceilings. Dark corridors at night.
Review 8:Proximity to Auschwitz, quiet location, very pleasant gardens, very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Great food very cheap!
Review 9:Single room very small dark and cramped. Sloping ceiling and TV virtually on the floor. Companion disabled and difficult to access the power points. Advise booking a double even if youre a single traveller
Review 10:Great location to visit Auschwitz. Hotel is clean and food excellent value for money. Modern bathroom with power shower. Staff helpful and lovely outside area. Would recommend!
Review 11:Spa facilities could be improved. The hot tub and sauna areas appeared clean but smelled strongly of sewer gas. Our swimsuits smelled sour after using spa facilities. The hot tub was not set to a high enough temperature.
Review 12:-Short taxi ride from Auschwitz Museum (do not pay more than 25 PLN for taxi) -Excellent quality of food for included breakfast and for supper at Polish restaurant -Great value for room and relaxation massage ($40 CAD for one hour massage)
Review 13:It was extremely hot in our room ,there was no conditioning . At least a ceiling fan would off been a nice addition !
Review 14:Its a nice place , friendly staff , loved the beer garden .
Review 15:I wish there was air conditioning but can certainly live without it- but the bed only had a thick quilt to cover up with. There was no sheet to cover myself with instead since it was so warm. Wish there was a swimming pool.
Review 16:Beautiful little resort. People very friendly. Food was excellent- both at the Italian and Polish restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic. The staff was so friendly. We liked that this was so close to Auschwitz museum. The flowers outside were so pretty too.
Review 17:When we checked out of the hotel, I found out that our laundry came up to 120$! Wow! I could have bought brand new clothes instead! Quite different from Bavaria where we paid 6 Euros for the same amount of laundry! P.S. I never was given a bill for the laundry.
Review 18:We were impressed by the premises of this hotel. Our room was just perfect in every details. The beds were super comfortable and our window gave us enough draft to have a peaceful night rest. Breakfast was super delicious. It had a lot of different options, cold and warm. There was enough parking. We never had to look for a spot. All personal were professionals and always answered us quite politely. This is definitely a deluxe hotel! One recommendation: Don't give your laundry to be washed, even if you have a lot. Don't misunderstand me, when we gave our laundry, we received it back the next day. Everything had been perfectly washed and ironed like never before. Everything was perfectly folded. Amazing!
Review 19:It was located far from the train station, and the Auswitz camp which I planned to visit
Review 20:Very nice breakfast. It is located near to the city center and forests offering nice environment to walk around.
Review 21:The spa. My husband and I got a massage and it was not good. No pressure at all, it was like someone applying sunscreen on you. We both got it at the same time and his opinion was the same. I asked the masseuse for more pressure and told her the are where to focus and she ignored my request.
Review 22:The staff in the reception was extremely nice and helpful. We got a very nice room, big, clean and comfy. Close to Auschwitz. Delicious restaurant.
Review 23:Credit card payment invoiced in non-Polish currency without asking first - very poor exchange rate. Demand to pay in PZl before making payment to avoid this.
Review 24:Excellent facilities, very helpful and efficient staff. Large and comfortable room. large car park. Good breakfast. Choice of 2 restaurants. Short taxi ride from Auschwitz Museums, 1km from old town. Good inexpensive spa treatments
Review 25:The electric lock on our door stopped working one night & front desk staff was amazing - tried everything to get it opened until, success! Very dedicated - amazing customer service. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 26:The restaurant was fabulous, we spent all afternoon there enjoying lunch and the ambiance. The check in staff were excellent even ordered us a packed breakfast as we were checking out at 5 am. Slept well....
Review 27:Surrounding area wasn't amazing, but wouldn't complain with massages for £18 and steak for £8
Review 28:We booked it because we didnt think it could be a spa for £35 per night... It was everything and more, I'm a nutritional research and Cook and the food was amazing and unbelievably priced. I used to be a London city broker and spending over £1000 on a meal for 4 wasn't uncommon,
Review 29:The only downside was the second night I scheduled an hour facial. The video in the resort lobby was your typical spa facial. I decided to do something different than the massage the night before. Big mistake!!! It cost 40 zl more than the massage and after 20 minutes of therapist lathering 10 different lotions on my face she put a mask and left the room for a half hour. The mask does not dry and I'm not sure what it's suppose to do. No steam, no warm cloth, no scrubs, etc. The serene music from the night before - gone! Jazz was playing and too loud to relax. The music was not suited to a spa. The lights were blaring, and the relaxing hour I was looking for was non-existent. I was ready to get up and leave the room and I'm still not sure why I didn't. The therapist said she would return in 20 minutes, it was 30. She wipes my face with a wash cloth layers one last lotion, done. Two entirely different experiences and I would try another massage, but never a facial here. No comparison to what was shown in the video not what I have had in previous facials. If you've had a facial in the states before, you will be disappointed. If you want several lotions lathered on, go for it, otherwise, use your own and you will probably get better skin care.
Review 30:Absolutely fabulous find to spend two days visiting Auschwitz (though one is sufficient). The hotel advertises as a resort and spa and it was indeed. The grounds are beautiful, charming, and quaint. We ate in both the pub and the main restaurant and both served excellent meals. Their breakfast included more than your typical European breakfast and this alone make this a great find for your money. If it had not, the price for the location, atmosphere, and food were fantastic. The spa environment is well done, though small. They've created a relaxing atmosphere with lights low, music serene, lounge chairs, heated floors, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms to enjoy. You pay extra to use the facility and for 20 Polish zl it's worth it. Took advantage of the spa and had a classic, one hour oil massage. Though small compared to most professional, resort smalls, they did a great job creating a luxury environment. If you are looking for a deep tissue massage this wasn't it, but the Polish massage was relaxing, soothing, and perfect after a day decompressing from the sites at Auschwitz. The room was warm, heated floors, excellent choice of relaxing music, and the therapist did a great job creating a relaxing environment. A must when you visit and you won't find a massage like this for the low cost in the states.
Review 31:For entry to the SPA, I was required to pay 5 euro, such payment is not listed on the site. GPS coordinates are not listed correctly, the location is about 100 m from the location specified. The coordinates of the courtyard are N 50.03859 °, E 19.24463 °. The man at reception restaurant could be more helpful.
Review 32:Great hotel, very good, the patio, very good food in the restaurant, excellent breakfast, good prices. Recommend menu served, French President Jacques Chirac. Spacious, clean, comfortable bed. Parking inside free.
Review 33:We were celebrating my brother's honorary professorship which he had received at the Auschwitz University on Monday morning, 0ct. 20th, and had to leave your comfortable bar already at 23:00. We would have liked to have sit together until 24:00.
Review 34:I visited Poland for the first time. I spent 3 nights in Krakau and 2 nights in Hotel Galicia. I was overwhelmed with the friendliness of the Polish people and their excellent knowledge of English. I was there with a group of 20 Germans attending the Inauguration of the University. We were a pretty loud and happy group but felt very much welcome and at home. Your staff was extremely friendly and professional, the food was excellent, the accommodations beyond reproach. I would recommend your hotel to anyone and will hopefully be able to come back soon. Gerti, Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Review 35:- the location was out of the way, still 15 min or so by taxi to Auchtwich and an hour and 1/2 to Krakow by bus. The bus stop is very cl
Review 36:- facilities, Spa, Spa services, staff, restaurant were outstanding, also the prices, very very reasonable!
Review 37:A little dated in rooms No hair dryer but borrowed off reception.
Review 38:Lovely food Staff were lovely both at reception and in resturant Room was nice but a little dated Close to Auschwitz (10 minute drive)
Review 39:What an excellent hotel to stop at for our visit to Poland was travelling buy motorcycle safe and secure parking by the use of a garage. Excellent food and drink. Would recommend.
Review 40:The mattrasses are outdated and/or too thin. They are due for replacement.
Review 41:Excellent location if you want to visit the Auschwitz monument. Just 7 minutes by car. The hotel is lux and cosy. They offer 2 restaurants, a spa & wellness and a fenced terras.
Review 42:Drain was clogged in our shower and there was no other room for us to be switched to so we were given a card to use the shower in a single room on another floor. Noise level from the restaurant was pretty high and since it was hot we couldn't close the window at night. The "free wifi" was only available if you were close to the routers. Our room was at the end of the hall so we could not connect at all to the internet.
Review 43:Location was great. Breakfast was good. Restaurant had delicious food for good prices. Staff was helpful.
Review 44:Unfortunately, we were there only two nights :)
Review 45:Near Auswhich, taxi to Auswitch was cheap. Food was delicious and local beers were good. Staff was very helpful. In neighbour you can have for examble a relaxing massage. Safe private parking to our bike included in room price. Exellent value for your money!!!
Review 46:Beds not very comfortable & rooms very hot with no fan or aircon. Each of our three rooms could do with an upgrade.
Review 47:Close to Auschwitz. The Polish Restaurant on site was extremely good & very cheap. Beautiful surroundings.
Review 48:Location - bit of a trek from the station, but taxis are cheap so not a problem.
Review 49:Lovely hotel, lovely room, excellent reception staff. Nice restaurant too.
Review 50:We waited for a pizza restaurant for over an hour. Customers did not have much, but the big takeaway order was made. They didn´t told that for us before! We would have had more to do than wait for food.
Review 51:Friendly staff, clean nice hotel
Review 52:Very noisy - was woken at 02:30 by residents in outside bar. Reception staff efficient but not friendly.
Review 53:Location for Oscwiecim town was good - 3/4 km walk to Auschwitz. Good selection for breakfast. Good value budget option in a quality resort.
Review 54:A minor hang up I have about a lot of hotels in there is never enough coat hangers in wardrobes - only two here is a bit poor!
Review 55:Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived on a motorbike and they immediately offered us secure parking in the garage. Great to have a choice of restaurants.
Review 56:Everything was perfect - restaurant, pub, breakfast, spa.
Review 57:Sometimes you could hear staff mocking you and noisy from above and kitchens
Review 58:Clean and nice food, very near to auscwitz and a nice little market
Review 59:Nowhere for refreshments without going to the restaraunt!!
Review 60:Spa was amazing!
Review 61:Perfect in every respect.
Review 62:The staff, facilities, spacious room.
Review 63:At home we found out that the stuff had charged us twice.
Review 64:Breakfast was miscellaneous regarding *** hotel. The bed was comfortable.
Review 65:No air con, stifling in the rooms
Review 66:Location,staff,food
Review 67:No more than 3! Been in much better hotel in Poland for less! 80 zlotys to call a taxi, never again!
Review 68:Nothing to dislike
Review 69:It is a high quality hotel for a budget price. The restaurant is high quality. Breakfast has a good choice
Review 70:The beer garden was wonderful and it was very close to where we were going. Right infront was a bus to krakow which was perfect for us.
Review 71:Weird smell of cheese in the room

Review 73:If you pay by card in different curency they will charge you 3%. Best way is to pay in PLZ cash.

Review 79:The Extra bed for the 3rd person was not so comfortable

Review 94:The whole experience was over and above what we expected, the facilities, the efficiency of the staff and great value for money. I will certainly return.
Review 95:None
Review 96:Overall a very nice hotel, the evening meal and breakfast were good and the spa facilities were an extra bonus after a long day on the road. Let us use the garage to secure our motorbikes.
Review 97:Staff i found not to be very helpful but this could be language barrier.
Review 98:Great little place, ideal if you want to see Auschwitz. Breakfast was really nice and the hotel was always clean and tidy! Hotel has free parking, free wifi and an excellent next day laundry service. Would recommend to anyone thinking of staying.
Review 99:My room was in the old part of the hotel, next i will book the new section
Review 100:Good , Reasonably priced Spa and wellness facilities The two in house restaurants
Review 101:Nothing, compared to most Polish hotels this one rates very wellin my view.
Review 102:Great location for visiting, exploring, and understanding Auschwitz andit's role within the Holocaust. Rooms were clean and comfortablewith the staff being very exceptional with both their service andattitude. Have and offer a secure and monitored car-park also. Finally, meals, including breakfast, in their cellar restaurant were fantastic.
Review 103:The fold out couch we had for our third bed was very uncomfortable, plus our shower leaked all over the floor and the toilet would only occasionally flush. We asked to move rooms for the reasons above and had to pay for an upgraded room. The new room was nicer but the heating did not work (in January). Finally, only the cold jacuzzi was working during our stay. We would have appreciated some form of acknowledgement of these known issues.
Review 104:The place is very nice internally and externally.
Review 105:Staying on the ground floor behind reception was a little noisey at times especially in the morning.
Review 106:We loved that the Italian restaurant had good Australian red wine and the food was fantastic.
Review 107:The place looks lovely on the outside but the towels were ragged and worn and the sheets had holes in them. Our dinner in the restaurant took FOREVER (45 minutes before the appetizers arrived). And I had a massage and it was one of the worst massages I've ever had.
Review 108:It looked lovely. The people were nice and the rooms were quiet and lovely.
Review 109:Water pressure in the shower was inconsistent, seemed dependent on howmany other people were using the water at one time.
Review 110:The restaurant at the hotel was great- nice Polish food and breakfast inthe morning had a very nice selection. Very easy to get toAuschwitz/Birkenau in about 5 minutes. Staff was friendly, room wassmall but comfortable.
Review 111:Guests charged (albeit very small) for access to wellness facilities (Jacuzzi / sauna etc).
Review 112:Clean and modern - met our needs for a short overnight stop before visiting Auschwitz.
Review 113:If travelling by car, staying in Oswiecim has major advantages compared with a day trip from Krakow. You definitely get a better overall perspective of the relationship between the town and the Auschwitz camps.
Review 114:Towels. Limited fruits options at breakfast.
Review 115:The location of the hotel is very good and easy to get to Auschwitz Museum. Only 10 minutes drive. Staff was very friendly with us, recommending how to get to Auschwitz Museum and some restaurants around. They offer free parking. The room was small and outdated for our taste but clean and beds were comfortable. The Italian restaurant at the hotel served good food at very reasonable prices. The breakfast was very good with plenty of cold and hot selection. Overall we would recommend this hotel as a good value for your money!
Review 116:Very nice rooms in the 4* part, well equipped, staff was very friendly. I had a problem with the Internet in the room, so they have changed the room to solve the problem
Review 117:The shower in the room didn't run properly and was in need of some new silicon kit.
Review 118:The staff was very friendly and helpful, even when i got the flue during my stay. The hotel is really beautiful and comfortable, and mostly: Very affordable!
Review 119:Very friendly staff, meals were very good, nice and relaxing atmosphere
Review 120:Excellent restaurant and spa, very reasonably priced. All staff helpful and spoke english
Review 121:the noise of the fan in the bathroom
Review 122:the location, car parking, the design of the building, the room, the staff, the food
Review 123:the style, food, enterieur design, location, silence
Review 124:The beds are a bit uncomfortable.
Review 125:Nice surroundings, helpfull and nice staff. Very good food and excellent spa by the hotel. Very good price
Review 126:Good value for money, very friendly helpful staff will stay there again.
