Reviews for Logement Garjen
Review 1:I have nothing negative to say about this guesthouse. I only want to mention to visitors of the very steep steps to the upper floors. Personally, I really enjoyed staying in such a beautiful and historic house complete with its beautiful and authentic stairs and found them no problem (in fact, I enjoyed them). However, if it would be a concern for a future visitor, I would suggest booking the very lovely room with terrace on the ground floor. Since many of Mrs. Postama's guests arrive by bicycle, I think that the steep steps are not really a problem for most.
Review 2:Mrs. Postama made us feel completely at home in this wonderful guesthouse and city. After one night's stay, she moved us to another room with a large roof terrace because it would be better for our dog even though it meant that she would have to change our sheets again after just one night of a for night stay. Aslo, Mrs. Postama gave us very good advice where we could find breakfast if we did not want to pay 11 euros for the full breakfast at the hotel next door. The location of the guesthouse is wonderful as are the very nice and extremely clean rooms. We will be going back.
Review 3:This b&b is in an excellent spot , right in the center , 2 minutes walk from shops , pubs , restaurants , and its in a really well maintained old building , all in all , excellent
Review 4:These are letting rooms in an unsupervised building (the owner lives next door) and you can only check in at times given on the booking confirmation. The owner demands a cash payment up front. There is no breakfast but the owner sells you a voucher for the adjacent hotel, at which the breakfast is very good, if rather over-priced!
Review 5:Attractive room overlooking the harbour. The room is right on the road and I was concerned it would be noisy. However, it was not, although we stayed only on the Saturday night. Harlingen is a very charming town.
Review 6:Perhaps the stairs were somewhat steep with a narrow step. This would present a problem to those with limited mobility. I thought it added to the charm of the place.
Review 7:Absolutely everything was just wonderful. To have an opportunity to stay in what was once a busy warehouse some 200 years ago was just amazing. We had a room which overlooked the harbour and the view was magnificent. Harlingen is beautiful and thankfully it has survived the many years to stand as testament to the wealth that once was during the trade years. The people are friendly and wonderfully helpful. I didn't want to come home, frankly, but the money ran out. Ho Hum!
Review 8:Leaving :-(
Review 9:Aussies we had a most wonderful night with very special surprise with the large private belcony overlooking the rooftops toward the harbour of Harlingen.... Was sad to leave , most loverly hosts Thanks so much

Review 12:Location
Review 13:On a lovely street by the canal. Very quiet, clean and comfortable.
Review 14:Unusable Wifi
Review 15:Location and charmy house
Review 16:All excellent.
Review 17:Location - beside a canal in this beautiful and interesting town.
Review 18:Under circumstances the very steep stairs, but the owner was veryhelpful getting the suitcases upstairs.
Review 19:If you like very old & restored houses (and I do) then this place isa gem! Very friendly owner. We were in room 38 on the second floor, thebeds were very comfortable, and we had a large patio overlooking otherold houses and the "Waddenzee". Our bathroom was locatedoutside the room, but is was "our" private bathroom with agreat shower. In front of the hotel, next to the entrance, there is asmall bench to sit on and enjoy the activity on the sailing yachts inthe Noorderhaven canal. Located accross the Noorderhaven is the hema(departmentstore) where you can have breakfast for just €1,-!!!
Review 20:No breakfast, only cash payment.
Review 21:Nice hotel with lovely people running it. Harlingen is a very nice stop for a night or two if you are in the area. Nice rooms with personal touch. Restaurant next door from which we had good “room service”.
Review 22:It seemed that we could not control the temperature (heating was off). The old building was a bit noisy (only troublesome when the neighbors are having a garden party).
Review 23:Well renovated, old scool style room. It felt a bit like sleeping at granny's house. No reception, but access any time with a front door key. Good shower.
Review 24:Had to wait a little while for the owner to let us in, but had a beer in the hotel next-door, so tie well spent. Steep stairs might be difficult for elderly/disabled.
Review 25:Clean, well-appointed, comfortable, everything worked and was of good quality
Review 26:Very friendly, helpful and cheerful landlady. The room and shower room were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The hotel is extremely central for the train, ferry and bang in the middle of town. The hotel overlooks the North harbour and is very pretty. A lovely place to sit on the bench outside.
Review 27:The breakfast, that is served at a nearby hotel at the cost of € 11 perperson, was very low as a choice and as quality. The cost of the roomincluding breakfast for two people was 90 €, not really a good valuefor money,.
Review 28:The hotel's location near the center.
Review 29:Perfect location! Right on a beautiful canal, center of old town. Picture book perfect in every way. Close to great bike rental locations.Very pretty house, inside and out. Walk or bike everywhere! Everything you dream about when you plan a trip to Holland comes true in Harlingen!
Review 30:Just beware of the steep stairs.
Review 31:Where else would the owner come up and pick a guest up at the station?(I couldnt get a taxi) Owner very friendly and helpful. Hotel/ bar/restaurant virtually next door for evening meal and breakfast. LogementGarjen is on the street facing the canal, with the Town Hall and churchopposite. Quiet but convenient location. Very scenic. Highlyrecommended.
Review 32:A minor detail but no soap for hand washing
Review 33:Everything was excellent
Review 34:The WiFi is free but very bad
Review 35:dangerous stairs.not good for 80 yr olds...
Review 36:location, bathrooms, beds.
