Reviews for Hotel Olecki
Review 1:Using SatNav to locate property I drove a few yards past and then entered (free) car park the wrong way (di nit give any problems though). Hotel name obscured by a tree! A very nice tree though and if they want to keep it maybe the name sign should be moved. Externally, hotel has rather drab grey paint but perhaps that is fitting given its location. Breakfast choice adequate though not extensive.
Review 2:Hotel is opposite Auschwitz 1: you just need to cross the road. Hotel was perfectly happy to allow our car to stay in their park (after we had checked out) while we spent over three hours visiting Auschwitz 1 and the more distant Auschwitz-Birkenau (bus-ride away which is part of the Auschwitz tour incidentally)
Review 3:The room was pretty noisy. No tea/coffee facility in room.
Review 4:The location was right opposite Auschwitz -the reason for our visit. Free Parking on site.
Review 5:The manager and front desk staff were terrific! English speaking, helpful and cheerful. Arrive the night before for your tour of Auschwitz I & II. The food at the hotel was excellent; eat dinner at Olecki you will be happy you did. Room was clean and the bathroom large.
Review 6:Customer service was fantastic. I accidentally booked for the following weekend, rather than the weekend I actually went to visit Auschwitz. They found an available room for my husband and let us drop off our bags early. When they found out that we wouldn't be in for breakfast the next morning, they prepared picnic bags for my husband and I for our 6-hour train ride. The location is fantastic as it is right opposite Auschwitz.
Review 7:They charged my credit card before I arrived, adding a fee to convert the currency and not giving me an option.
Review 8:Location is absolutely perfect - right across the street from the main camp.
Review 9:During the night, the WIFI could be hardly connected to. Perhaps too many guests were using the WIFI.
Review 10:The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the muzeum. The rooms are tidy, and the beds are comfortable.
Review 11:No satallite TV. Thats my only negative point.
Review 12:Right outside museum which is what I came to see. Excellent location for museum visitors. Also liked the fact that we could sit outside hotel and enjoy drinks from the bar. Good service from the bar staff even though he worked alone.
Review 13:The only thing was the mattress had a lot of hairs that were there when I crawled in the bed. But I would stay here again.
Review 14:The staff was amazing. They waited for us to arrive well after midnight. If interested they speak great english. Convenient location if you are visiting Auschwitz literally across a very small road. Cozy little hotel. They do have a restaurant which is nice because there isn't much in that area.
Review 15:we didn't arrive till around 8 pm the restaurant was meant to be open till 11 pm but shut early because it was quiet no shops or even a take away menu available so no dinner after driving over 500 miles not even a coffee
Review 16:excellent location for the Auschwitz camps and local transport
Review 17:Hotel relied on the camp for its trade, so things are a bit tired. Holes in towels, no second key card, unless you ask for one. No night life.
Review 18:We went to see the concentration camp, literally over the road. So location was brilliant. Free WiFi. Parking good.
Review 19:Breakfast
Review 20:I can only be positive about this hotel. The location is simply perfect. You just have to cross the street to enter the Museum. The rooms are very clean and very convenient with a lot of space to put all your belongings. The shower is great. You get fresh towels every day. There is also a little fridge in the room. The breakfast is not so great but we didn’t mind. For the location, cleanness, kindness of the girls at the reception I give this hotel a 10/10. Don’t hesitate; simply book a room there.
Review 21:Far from the center, no connections, wifi not available at 2nd floor, it looks still under construction
Review 22:Really kind staff, nice breakfast if you'll arrive at 9am
Review 23:The location was ideal for access to Auschwitz and for catching bus to Krakow. Staff was EXTREMELY nice, service great, & food delicious. I couldn't be happier & would stay there again.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Location couldn't be better for visiting Auschwitz - it's just outside the gate. Plenty of parking in hotel grounds, excellent breakfast.
Review 26:AC was ok, but a little on the weak side. First morning the breakfast wasn't very good and the second morning there was over 30 minutes left before it was supposed to end and they had already cleaned up and closed breakfast.
Review 27:Great location of visiting Auschwitz. Great staff, very friendly.
Review 28:The only comment I could make was the dining room waitress ( 1 ) was at full stretch trying serving meals/drinks/room service and outside on the patio area with upwards of thirty plus people at times. I would have liked to have seen two waitresses on at the busy times.
Review 29:The Hotel was very clean with fresh bed linen and towels daily. The staff went the extra mile to make sure your stay was the best it could be.
Review 30:This an excellent hotel for the purpose of an early morning visit to Auschwitz. It is very reasonably priced, beautifully clean, has free wi-fi in the reception area and serves a good breakfast (included in the price) with hot and cold items. The rooms are smallish but perfectly adequate for a night or two and the bathrooms are modern and very clean. A hair dryer is available from the front desk if required and complimentary water is provided. The hotel is situated right opposite the car parking area for Auschwitz, literally a 2 minute walk from the entrance of Auschwitz I.
Review 31:The air conditioner doesn't really cool down the room.Free wifi in the room was slow.
Review 32:Breakfast was great.Very close to the museum it's just right across the street.Staff were helpful.Clean bathroom.
Review 33:A few small issues, but not even worth mentioning.
Review 34:Staff very friendly, helpfull. Location can't be better for Auschwitz visit. Small things in need attention, but won't spoil your visit. Would visit again !
Review 35:beds were uncomfortable, but better than sleeping on the floor. Breakfast was not that good, no "hot" items -- just a cold continental breakfast.
Review 36:bathrooms renovated, but broken towel rack and broken shower head. It was clean and quiet, and a great location across the street from the Auschwitz death camp.
Review 37:Staff very friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble, helpful about surrounding area and getting to and from krakow, will be staying again in the near future.7
Review 38:The only bad point of our stay was trying to order a dessert after our evening meal , only to be told that the kitchen was closed despite the fact that hotel information said otherwise. The waitress then prepared dessert for us explaining the chef had gone home!
Review 39:The hotel is literally across the road from the entrance to Auschwitz.
Review 40:Almost had a row on arrival with reception staff as they said I had not paid for one of the rooms when I know I had & it was an instant book & pay. Anyhow I went to my room to attempt to get up my bank statement on my laptop to show them I had paid but after 20 minutes or so could not get a signal, so I went back down to reception to explain there is no internet & I could not get on my bank to prove it etc, they said there internet was down & it was all fine as they had now found the booking an it was all paid, I said it would of been nice of you to let me know via ringing the room. On that not the phone in the room was not even connected to anything. We stayed two nights here & the intranet never worked at anytime, in my opinion they have none purely relying on people only staying one or two nights so can be fobbed off etc. Also I asked for ice and the ice machine did not work, neither did the heating in the room as there was no way of turning it on or off no stat I could see but maybe you had to ask for a remote control.
Review 41:Breakfast was nice, as was the beer, food, staff.

Review 43:Good food, good beer, lovely staff, great location for Auschwitz. Local supermarket 2 mins away.
Review 44:Didn't have any in hotel but if you fancy eat some pizza dinner don't go to place a cross of street. Is not fresh staff is very rude not nice place at all...
Review 45:Hotel was opposite of camp and not far away from brzezinka camp ...staff was helpful with information...
Review 46:WiFi signal was very weak, but we were still able to connect.
Review 47:Could not get a better location to the Auschwitz museum. It is literally across the street! VERY friendly staff. FANTASTIC price. Very clean. Pet friendly (small fee). The resturant was well above expectations. The food (lunch/dinner menu) was delicious, and had a great selection.
Review 48:Oświęcim の中央駅からのアクセスが多少悪い.バスもあるが本数があまりなく,タクシーを使うことになる. The access from the train station of Oświęcim to the hotel is a bit inconvenient. Taxi is more convenient than bus as buses come not so often.
Review 49:Auschwitz の博物館まで徒歩 2 分.朝食が 7 時から供されるので,朝イチでスムーズに博物館に入館できる. It's 2 minutes walk from the hotel to the museum of Auschwitz-I. You can smoothly go in to the museum after taking a breakfast served from 7 am.
Review 50:- Many brown smudges on the room walls, lampshades, and toilet seat (blood? huge dead bugs? worst?) - Unsecure parking in a deserted area at night
Review 51:- Proximity to Auschwitz museum (across the street) - Reasonable prices - Water bottles in room
Review 52:Restaurant is overpriced..and not good foods & pro. Staff...waited for so long for food...
Review 53:A nice hotel, excellent staff & location, closest to Auwchitz-1 main gate...nice rooms...will stay here again...breakfast is just okay
Review 54:The location is fantastic; it is directly across the street from the Aushwitz-Berkinau Museum. The site is much easier to visit early in the morning when it is not crowded. We were driving so I cannot comment on its proximity to the train station. There was adequate parking. The hotel was an excellent value. We had two rooms for 6 people. It was very clean and the breakfast was very satisfying.
Review 55:Sorry but this hotel was the worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. Very noisy. No working ac although there was one in the room. The hotel restaurant had the greasiest food ever. My dinner and my husband's was literally swimming in oil.
Review 56:Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant serves good quality food. The location is ideal as it's a stones throw away from the museum I came to see

Review 61:The Hotel stay was brilliant. The location to Auschwitz I entrance is... 50m away, great for those wanting a visit. (And don't worry, it wasn't weird) All the staff we spoke to spoke perfect English and were very friendly with it. The Hotel was very well presented, modern and clean. The rooms were basic, but with everything you need. The Food in the Restaurant was good value for money. And the lovely Buffet breakfast was what was need for a day. The Parking was good and safe, with security cameras everywhere. Anyone going to Poland to Visit Auschwitz or just Visit Poland... I would Strongly Recommended this Hotel.

Review 114:The location to Auchwitz camp. It is just across the road. The staff were so nice and the breakfast was brilliant.
Review 115:There are very thin walls and the room I was in was next to the front desk. About 1 am the girls at the front desk was having a very loud conversation and I could hear all of it. Bar not open until at least midnight.

Review 121:There was nothing we did not like. Everything about this hotel was outstanding .
Review 122:Karol who works at the front desk was so incredibly helpful. He answered so many questions my husband and I had about the area. He was so nice and very pleasant . He is a true asset to the Hotel Okecki. The entire staff was excellent. Karol just went above and beyond with superb customer service skills. We are from the States and we recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to that area. This hotel is a great location with regards to Auschwitz . Of course, visiting the camps is extremely sobering. The hotel is directly across the street from the main entrance to Auschwitz 1 and within walking distance to Auschwitz/Birkenau. Again , we highly recommend The Hotel Olecki.
