Reviews for Casa de São Domingos
Review 1:Nothing!
Review 2:Some people mentioned it's hard to find, but the host already put a sign at the front door. It's a very well-designed and decorated house, with warm hearted hosts. They are very sincere and friendly, and everything in the room was perfect! The breakfast was superb with freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh bread (thanks to Monica). Hosts take good care of all details and I'll definitely return if I go back!
Review 3:Very friendly, superb hosts, welcome drink, beautiful house, very comfortable, large, beautiful room, baby cot available, great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Review 4:1. The floor was squicky. 2. There was no place to put the soap in the shower, there was no tissue paper in the room. 3. The TV in the room had 4 channels only, all in Portugese.
Review 5:The room was large, the staff friendly, great view to the river.
Review 6:When they have the sign "casa do Domingo" prominently visible on the outside wall, then all will be good.
Review 7:Welcomed with open arms, and, a good glass full of 15 year old old port wine. This place has a lot of charm, is spacious, clean, and, has that homely feel about it. When the painters finish their work, and, put a identity of the casa on the outside wall, it will be easier to find, because I went right past it, late in the evening. The hosts are great, and, took me by a car to the best typical value for money restaurant in town. The breakfast has a great selection from Which to choose from. I can only highly recommend staying here. Peter S. (Australia)
Review 8:City Peso da Régua is not interesting
Review 9:A wonderful and beautifully crafted home, garden and swimming pool, nice owners, small details create an atmosphere. Nice view. Good base for exploring the region Douro.
Review 10:Although directly on a main road the property may be difficult for some to locate, particularly in the dark. A little more understanding of English would have been useful.
Review 11:Breakfast, including service, highly commendable. A clean and very presentable property.
Review 12:If only more English speaking makes it perfect
Review 13:The house is exceptionally classic, clean and totally beautiful. The property is an art piece on its own. Fantastic wine and great breakfast. Room is huge and Barth room is to die for.
Review 14:there were personal things of the owners in the closets and on the tables.
Review 15:Beautiful place, great rooms and a very comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful owners.
Review 16:House a bit far from the river and station, issue if you do not have a car. It felt like staying at some aunt's place.
Review 17:Owners very friendly, drove us to restaurant and booked train tickets for us. Also very tolerant of our 2-year all in their house
Review 18:This place was PERFECT! The facility was gorgeous--a beautiful swimming pool, beautifully landscaped with flowers, fruit trees & birds; A manor house worthy of royalty; owners and staff who couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. The room was very large, very attractively furnished, and even the bath (with double sinks) had fresh flowers. Breakfast was ample, with our hostess' homemade jams & jellies. If this review sounds over-the-top, it's only because Casa de Sao Domingoes was over-the-top. It's just about the nicest place I've ever stayed in,
Review 19:What a great hotel! We were so warmly welcomed that we were stunished by everything, the view, the staff, the pool, the room, the breakfast. This hotel really has his things together, everything was correct and great!
Review 20:The description of how to get there is not clear. In fact it's very close to Regua train station, 15 mins walking up hill along the main road to Villa Real. It's OK if the weather is fine and without big luggage as we.
Review 21:The room and the people, most comfortable stay I ever stayed.
Review 22:difficult to find, but after 3 rolling up and down looking for the place, we stop a local guy who call the owners and they picked us up sugestion: put a sign to the place

Review 24:The most gracious owners made us feel instantly at home. Manuel was extremely helpful, making dinner reservations, recommending the Douro Museum and the fabulous "miradouro" from which we had the best views of the river and valley. The casa and property are immaculate and decorated tastefully.

Review 32:Although on main road, very difficult to see the entrance (a bigger and more visible sign would be very helpful).
Review 33:Owner's welcome (with and excellent old tawny port!) and helpfulness. Charming large family residence turned into a boutique hotel. Excellent suggestion for dinner in restaurant in town and we were even brought there by the owner! Good Wifi. Wish we could have stayed longer so we could have used the pool!
Review 34:This is an outstanding residence beautifully furnished throughout. We arrived by car and parked in the grounds. We were made feel very welcome, helped with our bags and were even given a welcoming glass of 40 year old tawny port! We were then shown to our large room with a fantastic view of the Duoro and Peso de Regua. It was was beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable. We pool was lovely and refreshing after a days touring. Daily breakfast was freshly made up of lovely homemade produce including their own jams and olive oil. Restaurants recommended by the host were great and this made our experience in Peso de Regua very special.
