Reviews for Grand Cafe Hotel Kruller

Review 1:If you are going there by alone, I don't recommend. 1. They are operating a restaurant on the ground floor, it's good. But the employee have to care about both (restaurant and hotel), so it looks like very distracted and not really kind. 2. Loud 3. No elevator, even the stairs is really narrow. Hard to carry my baggages.

Review 2:Close to a supermarket

Review 3:Dinner at the restaurant was an excellent experience! We paid extra for a large room with a small balcony that faced the main street. It was worth the extra charge.

Review 4:There was no electric kettle facility in the room, and the spiral staircase to reach it was really difficult to climb.

Review 5:The manager was very accomodating, even going to the trouble of providing an electric kettle from his other property. Also, the free wifi was much appreciated. The room was very comfortable. The village had a 'Vincent' festival on; there was a large artist's palette in the street below my room.

Review 6:Asked for two quiet rooms and got one quiet room and one located above a loud private dining room that was an issue for sleep. Also, we weren't told in advance and our Booking.com reservation didn't show it, but when you don't reserve breakfast in advance, they force you to pay 13.50 euros per person per day at checkout (instead of 9.50 euros per person per day indicated on the reservation).

Review 7:Good location, pretty comfortable and clean. Good breakfast except for the coffee (hard to drink it was so bad).

Review 8:Nothing negative to report!

Review 9:Staff were all friendly, helpful above and beyond the usual and very efficient. The room and facilities were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ample and delicious.

Review 10:Hot water to drink a coffee boat was in a room furnished with, it is good.

Review 11:The staff are friendly and I like it because it was good, and the town was quiet.

Review 12:The WiFi did not work I our room at the end of the hall and we had to go to the dining room to connect to the Internet.

Review 13:Helpful staff. Allowed us to store our bicycles inside. Very convenient to the Hoge Veluwe National Park and the Kroller Muller Museum.

Review 14:The curtain of the shower could be a problem for big people; a sliding door would be better.

Review 15:The "small" room in the main building was larger than expected; for a short stay, there is no reason to take a larger one. The quality and choice of the breakfast is even better than many four star hotels.

Review 16:Room had a nice little balcony, but was totally dusty & durty, also the two chairs. Room cleaners not so top, wardrobe is a joke, too small, just sufficient for one person!

Review 17:wonderful breakfast, located very nice in the center of Otterlo, excellent beds, good curtains which darkens the room at night, cosy restaurant

Review 18:We would have preferred one queen/kingsize bed over the two singles that all (?) rooms seem to come with.

Review 19:Excellent location, good restaurant, pretty charming place.

Review 20:Very pleasant place, only gripe -- and it's minor -- would be the spotiness of the Wifi signal. Spiral staircase probably fairly scary if you're mobility challenged.

Review 21:Good location. Big room and the place just has a nice feel. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant does a decent dinner. Otterlo is a lovely little spot.

Review 22:The wi-fi connection in the room and in the cafe was a bit irregular but I wonder if that was a temporary problem.

Review 23:Situated steps away from numerous walking and biking trails as well as eating and shopping establishments. About as close as you can be to the Kroller Muller museum without camping in the Hoge Veluwe National Park. The full package at an awesome price. A no frills room that was perfectly useful, spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Review 24:No airconditioning (with room below the roof), Wifi didn't work in the room

Review 25:Very close to the National park and the museum, quiet location, friendly staff

Review 26:no airco or a ventilator and in the heat was nearly impossible to sleep; bathroom with no soap or other amenities;

Review 27:perfect location, friendly staff, excellent dinner, comfortable beds

Review 28:Could not figure out how to get on WiFi; looked like payment was necessary but may have not understood system

Review 29:We liked most the warm welcome upon arrival and excellent, friendly staff during meals

Review 30:Wi-Fi in the room did not work, cleaning started at 8AM.

Review 31:Location, friendly staff, quick service, comfortable room, delicious dinner, breakfast, price/quality ratio. I was really pleasantly surprised when they brought the whole box of small sweets along, when I just ordered a back coffee after dinner. A nice gesture of attention. Thank you!

Review 32:I had a problem with my rental car and the manager saved our bacon. She made the phone call for us, taking a considerable amount of time, going through the usual menu hassle which probably would've been too much for me, ensuring we had a fully satisfactory resolution.

Review 33:Dinner is very basic. Can be better. Dessert was good. When we ate breakfast buffet, the staff asked me, if I want tea or coffee so I asked if I can have non caffeine cappuccino. Actually, I could only choose tea or normal coffee in the breakfast buffet and they took extra price for cappuccino without telling me. I think they should explain cappuccino is not include the breakfast buffet price.

Review 34:Good location to go to National park. Clean and quiet rooms. And staff was nice.

Review 35:Bathroom light that was on automatic switch

Review 36:Location - Otterlo, and proximity to Kroller-Muller Staff - exceptional on friendliness and assistance ReSaurant - best meals of. Six week tour

Review 37:Great location for entry to the Hoge Veluwe park. Nice hotel and breakfast included in the price. Also had dinner at the Grand Cafe and it was fantastic.

Review 38:Having to leave.

Review 39:Friendly Welcome, very helpful staff, wonderful and fresh breakfast, excellent dinner. In total we experienced a most enjoyable visit and will be happy to return in the future. Bobby and Joke Edgar. Kapittelweg,3 3401 TW, IJsselstein.

Review 40:We were in the White House, their annex. There are no elevators and carrying the suitcases in and out was a problem.

Review 41:Location, parking, breakfast and even dinner was great! We arrived early and they stored our bags for us so we could explore the Open Air Museum

Review 42:Noise levels due to poor insulation made sleep difficult to impossible as other guests at work parties were loud. Wifi in rooms very poor. Lighting in rooms not adequate for reading -- it needs to be brighter and near chairs. At night with all the lights on, the room was so dark, it was not functional. With better lighting and soundproofing, this would be a very nice hotel.

Review 43:The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was great. The staff were nice.

Review 44:The hotel staff were superb. They were busy but never too busy to attend to our needs. The small double room was just that, but thoroughly adequate for a couple of night's stay. Food was excellent; there was a comprehensive menu, very reasonable prices and quick service. Parking for about 17 cars on site.

Review 45:One nights sleep was a bit interrupted by a fireworks display but that will be fairly rare I would imagine...

Review 46:The location for a visit to the Kröller Müller museum was perfect.

Review 47:Might be difficult for folks with limited mobility. No elevator

Review 48:Excellent breakfast.Clean pleasant rooms. Free bikes.Helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Location near de Hoge Veluwe National Park with Kruger -Muller Museum, cycling and walking trails a plus for art,and outdoor lovers as well as those who enjoy cycling. Great place from which to explore the Dutch countryside

Review 49:I was located at the White House which is few blocks away on the same street. It was somewhat uncomfortable to go back and forth from the White House to the cafe for questions, dinner and breakfast. I wish it would have clearly written in the reservation.

Review 50:Good location next to the national park, the staff is really kind and helpful.

Review 51:Fabulous place to stay when visiting the Kroller Muller Museum. A lovely 10 minute walk down the road to the national park then pick up a bike at the entrance and ride to the museum. The restaurant at this hotel is excellent.

Review 52:No lift

Review 53:Almost perfect Room is clean and all staff is friendly Breakfast is nice Dinner is nice&reasonable Near the Bus stop & National park Staff help me to lift up my baggage

Review 54:Small meniu for breakfast & it was realy expensive. In center Amsterdam I paid less for realy delicious lunch.

Review 55:Staff were very pleasant! Food was very good!

Review 56:Location, excellent food, courteous and efficient staff.

Review 57:Internet was poor at the room. It worked at the hall.

Review 58:Great location(10 mins walk from the entrance of the park) Great break fast Great hospitality

Review 59:the telly is placed o a table next to the bed in a position you get head cramp if you want to see it

Review 60:location

Review 61:layout and furnishing of room and bathroom

Review 62:friendliness of the staff

Review 63:Located in a lovely village. Great service and good food. Wish we had stayed longer.

Review 64:Ideal location for exploring the Hoge Veluwe National Park. Good-sized room, tasty breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff.

Review 65:Although I know I had reserved a room within the hotel proper, they stuck me in their adjunct up the street.

Review 66:Great location, great restaurant food and very friendly, helpful staff.

Review 67:Dinners also excellent.

Review 68:Nice village strategically placed to visit the Kroller Muller museum. Nice Breakfast and clean rooms

Review 69:Only downside was that the rooms are not soundproof.

Review 70:Very friendly staff, great location to visit Veluwe by car or bike.

Review 71:great location

Review 72:Excellent restaurant

Review 73:Lovely little hotel within walking distance of Hoge Veluwe. Relaxed, cosy atmosphere. Gezellig!

Review 74:It was really hot in the room.

Review 75:Very helpful staff and nice rooms. Also nice fresh milk from the farmers

Review 76:stairs to rooms are spiral, narrow and steep although staff will help willingly to carry those suitcases.

Review 77:family friendly atmosphere

Review 78:Wifi on the first floor (Annie room) does not work. The room was little bit cold.

Review 79:Good position near the entrance to Hoge Veluve national park.

Review 80:not for older people! you have to take your Luggage upstears!

Review 81:There is nothing interesting in the city of Otterlo, keep this in mind when picking a location.

Review 82:Great location! Loved staying in the White House.

Review 83:I can't acces WiFI, wrong password

Review 84:Nice ,quiet place, good restaurant and tasty beer...

Review 85:clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast, very close to kroller muller

Review 86:No tea/coffee making facilities in room

Review 87:Nice evening meals, friendly staff, good location to visit De Hoge Veluwe National Park

Review 88:We wanted to cancel two hours after we could get our money back because our flight was delayed, but they wouldn't give us our money back... ;(

Review 89:Location, good breakfast, friendly staff.

Review 90:Fairly plain room.

Review 91:Enjoyed our time in the restaurant and bar. Helpful, attentive staff.

Review 92:no wifi in room, very small room

Review 93:easy access to kroller muller museum

Review 94:Staff were friendly and very helpful. Clean room perfect for a short stay. Great breakfast which was included in the hotel price. Walking distance to the entrance of the Hoge Veluwe NP where you can find the free white bikes.

Review 95:We were on the ground floor in the White House and it was quite noisy with people coming in and out of the front door.

Review 96:The hotel was very close to the park, which was convenient. The restaurant food was very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 97:A steep circular stairway, a bit of a struggle with our suitcases, though we were offered help. Not so bad, it added to the Dutch experience, but folks with mobility issues should be aware. There is no lift.

Review 98:This is a great spot in Otterlo about 700 meters from the gates of the Hoge Veluwe Park. The breakfast which was included in the price was very good. Nice quiet room, though a bit small.

Review 99:The Internet was terrible- in order to get a signal I had to be in the downstairs common bathroom area, which was very inconvenient. I had no idea the room came with breakfast and spent the day hungry when the breakfast looked so good- but that is my fault for not asking. The breakfast at the last few hotels we'd stayed at was over 20 euros, so its actually great that it was included in the 99 euro room rate. Perhaps it would have been clear had we been staying at the actual hotel and not the annex down the street. But we loved the hotel as we found it, and would definitely stay again, if only for the location and game/tea room.

Review 100:We loved the common room in the annex hotel, the White House, where our room was located. The location was perfect for Kroller Muller and Hogue Vuelve.

Review 101:The feel of a country inn, very pleasant. Good breakfast and dinner (asparagus to die for). We were walking in the park and traveling by train and bus and the location was very convenient.

Review 102:Needed more and more accurate help finding info on the national park nearby - AM staff didn't know much.

Review 103:Manager was most personable and chatty - helpful. Made special arrangements on little notice (no 3rd floor rooms). Great place to stay. White House facility down the street most quiet and pleasant place to stay.

Review 104:Excellent staff-helpful and polite. Great location with close proximity to the park. Substantial breakfast and lovely dinner at the restaurant onsite. Good value for money.

Review 105:No elevator.

Review 106:Very Hospitable and friendly. Location is great, close to the Park and easy to get to by bus from the train station in Arnhem. Breakfast was included and very good and substantial.

Review 107:Liked how the rooms have names instead of numbered. Liked how the staff spoke a variety of different languages. Liked our 3 course dinner, very filling and delicious. Liked the help given for directions back to the train station. Bike Rental company next door was good and also super market.

Review 108:We stayed in the hotel on number 35, so not the main location. Room wasn't very clean, bathroom outdated, noise insulation isn't great, luckily the other guests were quiet. With this, room is actually a bit expensive.

Review 109:Location, very close to excellent walking and bicycle paths. Good options for eating out. Staff was approachable and nice. Bicycle shed was very convenient for us.

Review 110:Attic room, head hitting on beams(though this is common in netherlands, they like attic rooms)restaurant a little expensive.

Review 111:Good quality breakfast, very comfortable bed and friendly staff.

Review 112:I felt that the staff were rather anxious to be rid of you on the day of departure and were checking the rooms at 8:00 am which i thought was too early.

Review 113:The hotel is ideally located if you want to visit the De Hoge Veluwe National Park and the kruller-muller museum and the staff were polite and spoke excellent english.

Review 114:Sometimes you can be placed in the other hotel (the White house). It's ok, but almost surprising...

Review 115:The place is really good, the staff very kind and the restaurant a so agradable place.

Review 116:Wifi was not working in the room, forcing us to go to the café-restaurant, the only public place.

Review 117:Restaurant service was excellent, friendly, humorous and smiling at breakfast and dinner. Large, clean and quiet room although two levels above the restaurant. Location at walking distance from the entrance of the Hoge Veluwe park.

Review 118:No complaints.

Review 119:Great location close to Hoge Veluwe park and Kröller-Müller museum. Small but comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff. The restaurant is not bad too.

Review 120:The staircases were steep and difficult for heavy luggage.

Review 121:We stayed in the annex "The White House". The room was fine and had A/C and a good bathroom..

Review 122:Stairs to the rooms are dangerous

Review 123:Nice staff, clean and comfortable room, fast wifi, good dinner, very rich quality breakfast. And price is so reasonable for The Netherlands.

Review 124:The separate building we were in was remodeled in an odd way and had a shuttered restaurant. It had a lonely, lost feel to it. In nice weather being down the block from the main building was only a mild annoyance, but it could be an issue in less cheery weather.

Review 125:Excellent location next to Hoge Veluwe but in town, close to a small grocery and some cafes. We had a budget room and it was indeed rather small. It was in a separate building four doors from the hotel and its breakfast room. Breakfast was quite good. Wifi was a little spotty.

The Fine Print
