Reviews for Indigenous People Lodge
Review 1:The bathroom drain blocked a couple of times but was always sorted really quickly. I loved everything about this place!
Review 2:The bungalows are amazing and cosy, staff are so friendly, food is delicious. A real chance to get close to the locals and their custom. Tours can be booked here and although it is slightly out of town it is walkable within 15 minutes or the staff are willing to give you lifts in as well as to the attractions around Sen Monorom. I loved it here and will be back!
Review 3:Poor refuse handling that allowed dogs to get in to the trash. Litter behind the cabins.
Review 4:Welcoming host and attentive staff. Cozy indigenous-style cabins. A nice selection of Bnong crafts for sale at extremely reasonable prices.
Review 5:The staff as family were all so nice! It's am amazing place for about 3 days stay. I recommend the bungalows as they come with bathroom and your own fly net in the room. I am a fussy person sometimes and I really so suggest this stay.
Review 6:The power went off both nights but it was off all over town- so we had nothing to complain about.
Review 7:The manager couldn't have been more helpful - driving us early into town and picking us up late as well. We even had a nice breakfast early. It's not luxury but compared to other accommodation we had experienced in Cambodia, it was fantastic value for money at only $15 a night for a family of four! It was clean and the food was very good and very cheap.
Review 8:We loved this place. It is a beautiful environment and the accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We had dinner here and the food was traditional Khmer and very good. It is a couple of km from town but Manel provided pick up and drop off. Excellent value for money and would highly recommend.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The proprietor is very service oriented. The place is simple but charming and clean. And the price is ridiculously low. Food and drink are also inexpensive. The food was very good.
Review 11:i stayed there two different times and on the second visit I had a bungalow without a sink. I had to wash my face and brush my teeth with the shower head. Yet, I enjoyed all else. The uniqueness of the "indigenous village" made up for the inconvenience, and the bungalow was on a hill with a nice outlook.
Review 12:It's very interesting lodging in native huts made of natural materials. It's very basic accomodation but was comfortable and made for a memorable stay. The manager, Manel, is very helpful and friendly. He is very knowledgeable about the area. I also liked the meals- casual, but excellent. i would like to return!
Review 13:The food was ok, but not great for the high prices. It is a place close to nature for sure, but we were so frightened by two huge spiders in our hut. Good that they had a useful insect spray.
Review 14:Pretty and cosy huts, which all look different. Nice and qalm nature place.we loved the small balcony in front our hut. The owner is great and so helpful (free pick up/drop to center).good stay tthere-we like to come back.
Review 15:Manel and all the staff at the lodge are amazing! They are so kind, so friendly and make you feel welcome and at home. The feel of the lodge is so beautiful - you can see the stars at night, the atmosphere is so calm and nature orientated and the little huts are perfect. I feel so rejuvenated! Definitely a highlight of my time in Cambodia :)
Review 16:The atmosphere of this place was absolutely perfect. We felt so welcome from when we first arrived. The owner came and picked us up from the bus stop and was so easy and friendly to talk to. Our room was very clean, spacious and homely. The wifi didn't stretch to the rooms, but this wasn't an issue for us. Just a warning for those who might want it. Although not a vast menu, the food was delicious but plenty of places in town to grab a bite. Couldn't recommend this place enough. So sad to have left.
Review 17:A bit basic ... but at that price does it matter?
Review 18:Basic but comfortable 'bungalows' in a field, about 1.5km out of town. It's walkable but a bit of a hike. Very friendly owners will give lifts and in-house food is good, home cooked - so okay for short stays. You get close to nature ... we had v noisy gecko in the roof and frogs in the loo. But maybe that's part of the charm. Excellent value for money
Review 19:It is a little far from the town center (1km), but he offers free pick up, so it was not a problem.
Review 20:The rooms are so cute! It's like being in a real Indigenous village. And Manel and the staff couldn't be more nice. He is very friendly and delighted to help his guests at any moment.
Review 21:Fantastic staff, very helpful, great location a little off the beaten track. After 2.5weeks of travel this is the nicest place we've stayed so far.
Review 22:The hut we stayed in was really lovely and cosy. Manel, the owner and his family were wonderful hosts and make you feel very welcome. They also offer free pick up and drop off which was great. thank you so much!
Review 23:Everything! Beautiful little Bunong huts, perfect for a relaxing stay out in the countryside. Family running it were amazing - couldn't do enough for us, always smiling and kind. Helped us organise travel and gave us a lift into town a few times. Lush meals too!
Review 24:Be prepared for ginormous spiders.
Review 25:Quite basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Very lovely and helpful hosts. Cooked a great evening meal and ferried 6 of us to town and back in tuk tuk and motos.
Review 26:No food but there is a cafe and pizza place about 1km away (uphill).
Review 27:Comfortable but felt like being away from everything. Helpful staff, moto'd and tuktuk'd me up the big hill to town, did my laundry. Hot water after a day elephant watching in the jungle, cold beers. Good value.
Review 28:While clean cabins lack a mirror, chair, waste basket. No biggie but be aware. Power can be intermittent , WiFi weak and the road in is a bit muddy in the rain. It is a bit out of town but transfer is provided.
Review 29:Staff were friendly. Local fixer Mr Den spends a lot of time here and is very helpful with language issues and arranging tickets and tours. Jungle treks and buses can be booked through them. This is not a Bunong owned facility.
Review 30:The people who ran it were so lovely, helpful and just couldn't do enough for us. On one occasion our pick up for a trip was late so the young gentleman there offered us a lift on his bike straight away. There is not much around the lodge (which was nice for us as it was peaceful) but if you let them know in advance, they will prepare delicious food for you- huge portions! The walk into town is not too bad though. The cabin we had was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Amazing value for money. We really enjoyed our stay and can't thank them enough for making us feel so welcome.
Review 31:The lodge does provide free pick up, but it is by moto. Luckily, the staff was excellent and worked with us to find an alternative means of transportation, as our friend was frightened of the moto. So, not so much of a complaint as something for others to be aware of.
Review 32:We really enjoyed staying in our own cute bungalow and the large bathroom facilities.
Review 33:A bit far from town. For every lunch we had to walk.
Review 34:The bamboo hut has a separate shower and toilet. For 2 people we had plenty of space. A mosquito net and the higher level of the bed protected us from the animals.
Review 35:People are so helpful and welcoming. I always stay here when I come to Mondulkiri.
Review 36:Bit out of town
Review 37:Peaceful place with helpful staff. Stay in thatch rooms, comfortable beds.
Review 38:Breakfast not included. Limited options at the restaurant
Review 39:Helpful staff. Funny and comfortable huts
Review 40:Out of town. Quiet. Brilliant huts. Very clean. Fantastic atmosphere. Unlike anywhere else we stayed.
Review 41:We couldn't stay longer as they were fully booked
Review 42:Hit was great and exceeded my expectations
Review 43:nothing because it us in the jungle and I swim with elephants BAM!!
Review 44:Nice stuff vetty helpfull
Review 45:Really warm welcome and people. Great atmosphere and sense of inclusion
Review 46:Wonderfully helpful manager, beautiful lodge.
Review 47:first night I saw mouse inside our apartment, so I was awake up whole night and checked the floor...
