Review 1：The fan in the bathroom was very noisy and the wifi tended to be slow.

Review 2：Good location, comfortable bed and spacious clean room. The room had a small fridge and a microwave and we were provided with a coffee maker and plates and cutlery when we requested them.

Review 3：I've stayed at Ixchel condos for years about twice a year and we love the location, the staff is always very friendly and helpful in whatever you need, the condos are beautiful and have many nice amenities. The beach area is wonderful.

Review 4：I think room service hours can be improved. Maybe extend it till 9pm for people who may want a late snack.

Review 5：The staff were super nice, ALL of them. The location was best. Ocean front and the main street behind the property. Our room was spacious, the AC quality was terrific, water pressure in the shower was great, plenty of hot water, large showers, wifi was free and strong it worked while sitting on the beach. We felt safe and welcomed. We will return.

Review 8：It is a little hard to describe the beach situation. Beautiful beach, powdery sand, wonderful water...but there appear to be three vendors managing the chairs. We had to compete for space, and oh on the weekend there appeared to be many day visitors from Cancun who were not very pleasant company. Additionally, the beach restaurant food was a C-, although service throughout was friendly and attentive. But mega pluses for the arrangements made with local restaurants, particularly The Rooster, where we could charge excellent meals down the street to our rooms.

Review 9：The accommodations were marvelous. We were a group of four friends and we each split a two bedroom two bath beach front suite. Delightful, spacious, comfortable with thoughtful touches such as a filtered water dispenser. Great housekeeping also.

Review 10：We were not told that there will be remodaling! We had construction noise for the ENTIRE stay! The poor staff had to deal with all of the upset visitors. The place is beautiful and in good location- that doesn't mean you can disregard for everything else.

Clean hotel and rooms, large room comfy bed big shower with good hot water and plenty of pressure. Good Air Cond. Nice small pool with good food and drink service. Steps from the pool to the beach. Easy checkin and checkout, no hassles with the bill, arranged golf cart and taxis. We were there in high season so there were tons of kids everywhere.

Review 26：The location is the best of all hotels in the island, it practically on the beach. They have their own slice of beach strip and own chairs but they let other people stay as well, which is great if you wanna host friends. Service is amazing, the staff is really nice and they are not that expensive.

Review 44：We arrived at Ixchel on Sep 2014. The room we saw online was nothing like what we got, so we decided to upgrade to the suit. Spent an hour finding a normal one. Most of the rooms had a strange smell and equipped very poorly. Finally, we found room 2506 which was very nice with all the appliances - full kitchen, DVD movies and games in the living room, and a load of books in the bedroom. The most amazing beach, the waters of the hotel were very kind. The only disappointment was the wi-fi.

Review 45：- the hotel was too expensive for what it offered (although location was probably the main driver of the price) - we got quite a different price when we booked an extra night directly in the hotel compared to the reservation done via booking.com (difference of almost 30%)

I chose this hotel because I knew there were a few items I would need to do for work, but ended up spending a total of 4 hours trying to get things to work in the lobby and room. Review 53：The wi-fi was not working, which was disappointing, since the free wi-fi was one of the reasons why I booked this hotel. The suite was clean, but the bed was rock hard. It was literally on a cement slab. The free self parking was not in a parking lot, but wherever you could find a spot on the street. This was challenging at times because the streets were narrow and a lot of golf carts are parked on the streets. Besides the pool, there are not really any other amenities.

Review 54：The beach is fabulous, and the property is right on the beach. The staff was friendly. For the most part, the other guests were quiet and respectful. On one weekend night, some partying was going on in the pool area, but it was not so loud that it was disturbing, even though our room overlooked the pool. Things quieted down before 10 pm. The hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance of many shops and restaurants.

Review 58：Nothing to complain about really, but it did seem that the control for the air conditioning in our room didn't work so we could choose from being incredibly painfully cold or having no air conditioning at all. We resorted to leaving it on when we left and turning it off every time we were actually in the room, but could have probably just asked reception to check it.

Review 59：The hotel is located in 2 separate buildings, right on North Beach on Isla Mujeres. Each building has a small pool with loungers, a poolside bar and direct access to the private beach area. The staff are really friendly and helpful (offering us a chilled face towel each at check-in was a lovely touch!) and we felt really welcome and relaxed. The poolside bar served really nice food and 2x1 drinks, and the hotel is also just a 2-minute walk from all the bars and restaurants of Hidalgo Street. All in all it was a great stay and I'd love to stay there again in the future!

Review 60：We spent the first three nights of our Honeymoon at this hotel which gave us more than we expected. The room is equipped with dehumidifier and A/C. They also provide guests with drinkable water dispenser in every guest room. The location is perfect and convenient. Close to restaurants and main street. The hotel has direct access to the beach. Review 108：This is NOT a 5* hotel by any means. Standard room has no balcony. The air con makes the room damp including all your clothes and the bed linen due to condensation. Very poor cleaning staff. The communal areas are dark, small and unpleasant. Not what you'd expect from the listing. The pool areas are small and the cafe is cramped and unpleasant. This should be a 3* hotel for the prices they charge. Advice - stay somewhere else!

Review 112：We encountered a number of problems whilst staying at Ixchel: 1. The staff were unhelpful, disinterested and sometimes even rude. We were keen to extend our stay and after initially inquiring, had to pursue the matter over the course of a day to actually find out if it were possible. The evening male staff were worse than the day staff - some male staff would not even make eye contact. 2. The state of some of the rooms was concerning. Many rooms appeared to be moldy and were not equipped to handle the humid climate of the island. 3. Sloppy cleaning service meant that towels were not always provided and dehumidifiers were not emptied. 4. We were told the internet "was currently not working and this issue was being fixed" but really, it just doesn't work above the ground level of rooms. This can be an issue for travellers who need internet connection while abroad.

Review 113：The location was first-rate and with a beach on your doorstep, it was the hotel's best feature and only saving grace.

Review 114：The hotel is affiliated with several restaurants and you can sign the bill and have it added to your hotel bill. The concierge was extremely helpful and personable. After a long day at the beach, when we attempted to leave for dinner we found that our safe was stuck in the locked position refusing to accept the code. The front desk quickly sent 2 maintenance men to attempt to open the safe. Usually, they require a wait time of 12 hours to attempt the codes a second time before breaking into the safe. However, we were checking out in the morning. The lady at the front desk sent the maintenance men back and they drilled the safe open. We were quite surprised as well to find that they did not charge us for breaking into the safe. All of the employees of the hotel were exceptionally polite and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Great Staff with special mention to Mauricio (concierge) and Arturo (beach server). They both made our stay spectacular.Stayed in tower 2 (west building) room 311 and found the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean and spacious. Higher floors have ocean views. Had no trouble getting WiFi in our room, probably due to the lower floor. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Review 131：Pools are TINY . Standard room is very small, with only standard size beds, and NO BALCONY! We were in building 2 and it is very very noisy, with sounds coming through adjoining door and through vents. Not enough towels, had to ask every single day for extra.
