Reviews for Hotel Spessotto
Review 1:The hotel is in a prime position being close to the town of Portogruaro but set back in a quiet area.My 2nd visit to the Spessotto this year & I will make it my regular as I have family living within 10 minutes walk of the hotel ! Excellent place
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Unexpectedly awesome place: located in an ancient building but still having all the facilities on a great level. Having virtually no drawbacks this place is yet quite cheap.
Review 4:No hot drink making facilities and asked one day when bar was closed for hot drink told to go to bar America.
Review 5:Clean room fresh bedding and fresh towel's
Review 6:Staff in restaurant (just 1) found it really difficult to cope wth taking orders serving drinks and food but was very cheerful!
Review 7:Central location Comfort of rooms
Review 8:Breakfast was poor, constantly running out of food and kept asking for it to be replenished. I.e coffee, hot water, cheese, eggs bacon. Overall selection was poor.
Review 9:Location was excellent, right in the old town, and ideal as a base for touring.
Review 10:Having booked the hotel through an agency I was worried it would n't be very good but the Spesotto is an excellent hotel, very clean good staff and location really great, right by the main square with shops, bars & restaurants within easy reach.
Review 11:Very nice and helpful lady in the breakfast room. Charming Hotel in walking distance to a very quaint and pretty town with plenty to see and a lot of very nice restaurants.
Review 12:The hotel restaurant (which may be managed by separate concern). We entered for dinner at 8pm and were ignored altogether, there was no-one else dining so we left and found a bar in the village street to eat a sandwich. It was a Monday evening, possibly this is not unusual on a quiet week night.
Review 13:Peaceful room with windows looking out through leafy trees to canal and water mill, lovely sound of flowing water. View of old leaning clock tower. Bicycles available for hire. Step out of hotel door to walk through charming cobbled streets, to nearby excellent shopping, cafes and a truly beautiful old Italian country town. Hotel is charming, comfortable, well-appointed and friendly.
Review 14:Unfortunately the hotel restaurant, cafe and bar were closed due to holidays during our stay which I found disappointing and very odd. I have never before stayed in a hotel where this has happened.
Review 15:The location of this hotel is fabulous, Portogruaro is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The hotel is of a good standard, our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean with a great bathroom. It is also located in the centre of the old town in such a beautiful setting and just minutes and just away from bars restaurants and cafés.
Review 16:Great hotel, kind personnel. The hotel is in the old town, close to everything. Cafés and restaurants are right next to the hotel. The hotel has its own parking area - ask the receptionist if you can't find it! We had a great time, thank you very much!!! We will definitely come back!!!!
Review 17:Have stayed here many times and it is always a pleasure, location is excellent, free parking, bikes available . The rooms aren't big but very clean. Can't wait to come back!

Review 42:Very comfortable, clean single room in a good price. A restaurant and a bar, a parking lot. In a good position to walk through Portogruaro which is a perfect place to make a breake in a journey.
Review 43:The location is in the old town. The breakfast was better than average for Italy. The room was average size and the bathroom was very nice. The hotel has an elevator.
Review 44:The staff weren't as friendly as i'm used to when travelling but i should make more of an effort to learn the local language also - this would have helped considerably
Review 45:The location was beautiful, the food excellent and the price was very good value for money
Review 46:The STaff there was only one gentlemen behind the reception who actuallyasked if we had a nice day .the rest of the staff seriously needtraining or need to go as they are what let this beautiful hoteldown.one women was so rude she started to swear and make rude commentsabout my mum not relasing we could understand italian she was very rudein deed and if that had happened over here they would have beenfired.whoever owns this hotel or manages it you seriously need to getrid of some of your rude staff
Review 47:I thought that the apperence of the hotel was lovely the reviews fromthe hotel are also stunning.the breakfast was really nice and healthybut also had some nice indulgance if wanted.the rooms were nice but alittle small .
Review 48:Double rooms are almost all on the attic floor and have no natural light except for a shuttered clerestory (no way of opening). The only double with windows was very small. It is hard to locate the hotel because of Portogruaro's one-way system.
Review 49:The hotel is well located in the old centre of Portogruaro. It has an excellent restaurant, which we discovered was closed that day only after booking (and despite careful scrutiny of its website).
Review 50:The room is always cold and they are super noisy - I always need to use earplugs when I stay there!
Review 51:Teh staff are super friendly and its nice and clean
Review 52:During the night the blanket on each bed disappeared down the end of thebed so we woke up a bit cold, but it was mid-winter and at other timesof year this would probably not matter.
Review 53:The hotel was easy to find and very nicely appointed . It was in abeautiful location, right by a little river and a lovely church. We ateat a nearby restaurant and had wonderful food at little expense. Thehotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included andvery nice indeed, especially the self-squeeze fresh orange juice. Iwould thoroughly recommend this hotel as a very pleasant place to stayand would return again.
