Reviews for Nature Lodge

Review 1:The lodge is 2.5 km from the bus/centre. I didn't know but they'll pick you when you arrive we walked. No taxi in town so if you don't want to walk at night it's on a dark road you need to use a motorbike or taxi motorbike. The food here is just ok few times was better few time not so much, but we didn't feel walking that far to eat out. Wifi only in the restaurant/reception area.

Review 2:Not sure how old are the bungalows but they're in quite good condition. The bar/restaurant nice area and you can meet people who stay.

Review 3:the "international volunteers" for their elephant project try to sell you tours as soon as you arrive, the restaurant needs renovations, the seating areas are dirty and ripped cushions, food droppings on the floor and cushions- and you have to sit in the middle of it. The "Volunteers" have a tendency to have a loud conversation through the whole restaurant area without getting up - maybe they are stuck ;-)

Review 4:Nice huts to live in, clean and quiet - if you have neighbors who don't party on their balcony

Review 5:It's outside the town, it gets a bit dark if you want to walk to town. if you need a pick up early in the morning, dubble check because our pick up did not come, sometimes they forget or dont understand you.

Review 6:really nice cabins, quite surroundings. Clean. The restaurant in the hotel is ok.

Review 7:Its a 30-40 minute walk into town, but can easily organise a moto...and we didnt need to go into town for much as we had it all there!

Review 8:Restaurant has such a great vibe. Good food. Rooms are so peaceful, slept so well here. Cows and horses wandering around, lots of greenery, nice hot showers. Cant lose!

Review 9:Everything. There are horses and cows in the garden. The wooden house are well made and really romantic. The commun area it's perfect to have a chat with people or just chill and plan your next stop. The restaurant it's also good. Perfect place and try the elephant experience with them! Tom was hour guide from a minority village he gift to us the best experience in Cambodia.

Review 10:Shower was either boiling or freezing, but we're used to cold showers now.

Review 11:Set in lovely grounds, Nature Lodge is perfect for a bit of r&r in Sen Monorom. We were only here for one night (unfortunately) but it was perfect for us. Comfy, clean bungalow, chilled restaurant serving good food, and a hammock included! Not good if you want to be in town (but why would you?!)

Review 12:Our buggiest complaint was the quality and price of the food at the bar. It was very expensive and poorly put together with what seemed like a liberal use of a microwave. Service could also be improved as we would often need to find staff members to fulfil basic requests such as condiments or bill payment.

Review 13:We stayed in the budget cabin option and were very surprised with the quality of the accomodation. The beds were clean and soft with a great view of the sorrounding area. The local farm animals were a pleasant surprise and we very much enjoyed the company.

Review 14:The location is great for the quiet but it is a bit of a slug to town. It would have been nice to have some more diverse tourist information available instead of just the one elephant trekking place and the zip lines over the waterfall. All places seem to be affiliated with 'their' tour so it is hard to get general information.

Review 15:Its fantastic and quiet and a bargain for the comfortable budget bungalows.

Review 16:Not being able to sleep. Local funeral ceremonies from 4am and guests loud music until late. Not quiet at all. Sheets were dirty, not amused

Review 17:The layout of bangalows and facilities in general

Review 18:Toilet in two of the bungalows we were given did not work. A $5 taxi ride into Sen Monorem so ask for a free pick-up from the bus station.

Review 19:Very good value for money. Bungalow with a hot water and garden shower. Beautiful forest outlook with an excellent bar/restaurant/chill out area. Food quite good. Although it is a fair distance on a very poor road we were able to get pick up and drop off for tours and transfers.

Review 20:Nothing!

Review 21:The basic rusticness of the huts, the excellent, personable staff, who couldn't do enough for us and made us feel as e were guests in their own home.

Review 22:Quite far away from the village (30 minute walk or 1$ moto ride) They try to push their elephant tour No wifi in the huts

Review 23:The huts are really nice and have a good bed and shower The restaurant area is great to sit in and has great wifi

Review 24:It is a plus and minus that Nature Lodge is 2km out of town on a rough road. Moto taxis are easy to get and worth it for me

Review 25:The staff were really friendly and helpful, despite being run off their feet at times. The cabins are basic, but clean and a welcome retreat from staying in towns. The restaurant/bar has a good atmosphere and easy to meet people.

Review 26:Breakfast is not included and prices for food are maybe a bit too high. Also missing more asian food: tourists shoud adapt to local food/culture.

Review 27:Simply wonderful. Especially staff, despite they work a bunch of hours (should have more spare time!) theyr're always kind, attentive and never leave their smile behind. We had great times with Tom at the Mondulkiri Sanctuary, seeing wild elephants, playing and having bath with them!wonderful experience for tourists that permits local people subsist while taking care of the environment and wildlife. On another hand, bungalows are amazing, private, comfortable and with everything needed to relax (including mosquito net for bed, really useful). Food is pretty good and the common area of the restaurant is just amazing to relax, read, meet new people...

Review 28:Unfortunately very loud annoying music from the town woke us up at ca 5AM. Not the hotel's fault, but annoying none the less.

Review 29:Breathtaking location, fun lounge/restaurant area.

Review 30:We had to leave.

Review 31:This place truly rocked. Great room. All the acres of space - horses, cows, dog & cats. Best "chill-out"bar ever. Staff the best. We will definitely be back here.

Review 32:Think they were changing owners...seemed like staff weren't trying to keep up the place, could see that things were starting to decline. Manager had a big argument about a bad business deal right in the communal area.

Review 33:Beautiful scenery

Review 34:-Manager (foreigner person behind front desk) very disrespectful towards client. Unacceptable! I reported mosquito net with big holes, instead of offering an apology and solution, he started yelling at me. (I have photos if needed) -Same individual not capable to offer tours, instead spoke bad about other tour operators. -More than 40 mins. to do check-in. No good administration. -Location -> too far from the centre.

Review 35:Cambodian personel/bar.

Review 36:I spent two days trying to get the staff to organise a trek for me, in the end I had to go into town myself in the morning and organise it myself. Don't think there was any meal I asked for first that they had all the ingredients for.

Review 37:The staff were on another planet... Totally disorganized. They tried to charge us multiple times for food we had already paid for and brought us what they wanted us to eat rather than what we ordered.

Review 38:Cute room

Review 39:Food and drink a little on the expensive side for Cambodia put us of eating there

Review 40:Lodges were nice and quiet location. The friendly staff made us feel welcome

Review 41:Uninterested staff, all the rules hanging on signs. No refill for your waterbottle. No information about trips.

Review 42:The view from the bungalow, the quiet countryside.

Review 43:There is few things that they should make it better: I know that is forest and there are animals in it but big spiders and frogs in the toilet is too much for me. I told to the owner about it but nothing happened. The other thing is when in the morning I asked owner for motorbike driver first the price was 10-15$ then I heard 20$ and that I can try to bargain. Ok. No problem for me, I can do that. Driver come and was a bit drunk-in my opinion you shouldn't recommend this person to your costumers because it is not safe. Not is a great girl and very nice person. She apologise me for this situation. They are not a funs of Elephant Valley Project (everybody can have their own opinion) but I could felt that after I said where I'm going next.

Review 44:Very nice and helpful staff. Great pancakes for breakfast :) Bungalow clean with mosquito net. Place is quiet and a bit away from center of San Monorom.

Review 45:The food in the restaurant is definitely overpriced and not worth the money. Eat in the town! The nature lodge ist a 30 min. walk away from the village- at nighttime you definitely need a torch because there are no street lights. One night we woke up and our bed was full of ants which we're carrying the eggs through our bungalow. We were not able to get rid of them, so we ended up sleeping on the cushions at the bar (all the staff was asleep). The manager offered us a free breakfast next morning as a compensation.

Review 46:The bungalow was spacious with a beautiful view and a really nice open air bathroom. There are a lot of different animals (horses, cows) around. The bar area is a good meeting point in the evening where you can meet other travelers.

Review 47:shower water too hot- couldn't use. wifi in the room would have been a great bonus.

Review 48:quiet location, beautiful scenery of hills, horses, cows etc. Cute, comfortable wooden rustic cabins with an outside bathroom/hot shower. Nice restaurant/bar area to relax in at night. A short moto ride out of town. cool breeze through the wooden slats made it even cooler. Food was fabulous- great for vegetarians!

It was cold a little bit. (the last of January) In the room it was as cold as out of the room. Especially, bathroom was so cold because it had stone floor. but I could use hot water. The location was a little bit far from the central of the city. Our room was also far from the lobby. You can use free-wifi only in the lobby.

Review 50:景色がよい。低価格の割には快適だった。 Scenary was beautiful. Cost performance was good.

Review 51:* The place is outside of the town, too far to walk. Since the lodge does not provide bicycles and cannot arrange transport to town after 6pm, you are more or less forced to have dinner at the lodge. Here, the choice of meals is quite limited, and only beer, coke, water, or milkshakes are available for drinking. As long as the lodge does not provide bicycles, I would not recommend this place. * If you want to join a day tour to the jungle, the lodge offers a quite expensive tour to an associeted nature sanctuary. If you don't like that offer or if there are not enough people, then you have to go to town (problem: see above) to search for another operator. The lodge does not cooperate with other lodges for organizing day tours. * The promoted "mountain view" from the bungalows is very unspectacular; there are no mountains, but what you see is a flat hill without trees. * In my opinion, the main attraction of the lodge is its "nature feeling". Unfortunately, during the night this flair is destroyed by the music in the dining area and the bright lights on the path between the bungalows.

Review 52:* Very nice bungalows.

Review 53:Food was not good. Limited to a set menu, and the quality of food reminded me of school dinners. The location is out of town, so if you're without transport this is your only eatery.

Review 54:Bungalow was good. Spacious, clean and practical. Nice setting. Chilled.

Review 55:The mahouts on elephant trek the guide fantastic the mahouts you can tell elephants didn't like them either but they are rotated so hopefully others a bit more compassionate. They need to explain they are not comfortable with people touching them as it is disappointing having no contact and I am sure it's because the mahouts don't have a respectful relationship with the elephants

Review 56:Loved the family huts, the very relaxing reception area complete with pool table and lots of space to relax

Review 57:Doors are not secure there is a gap of at least an inch where the latch doesn't fit bar is unstocked and ridiculously overpriced no food only cold buffet for 7 dollars. Ridiculous

Review 58:The animals

Review 59:Spiders but this cannot be helped in this environment. They have a good drinks menu but no spirits or wine was available during our 3 nights - just beer!

Review 60:Location. Scenery. Bar area, excellent menu and helpful, friendly staff. Peacefulness.

Review 61:If you're afraid of spiders, you might consider it, but the staff is friendly enough to check the room every night of spiders and remove them. Few off the staff spoke English.

Review 62:Area was good, in the nature. Cabins were tree houses, basic but good! Staff was friendly

Review 63:The tours were rather expensive for what they were.

Review 64:The cabin was basic, it was definitely worth investing in the hot shower. The food was fantastic! It was nice to stay in the middle of the forest and we felt completely safe/secure in the cabin.

Review 65:Perhaps it was a little far out of town but that did not inconvenience us as we preferred this setting to one in town.

Review 66:The environment was magnificent. Set on many acres the bungalows were arranged well apart and were made of magnificent timber. Cows and horses wandered throughout the property. The young manager was most helpful in arranging transport and gave excellent advice re sightseeing. Would certainly recommend a stay here.

Review 67:Beautiful setting and excellent facilities

Review 68:food in restaurant need to be improved.

Review 69:it's a great place to stay in nature. value for money. friendly staff.

Review 70:Food could use some improvement

Review 71:No air conditioning

Review 72:It was wonderful to be in nature

Review 73:Cow poo n horse poo on the ground.

Review 74:Food n friendly staff

Review 75:Nope!

Review 76:Very friendly staff Beautiful location Good food (big portions ☺️) I hope that i can come back one day!

Review 77:Nice peaceful place to stay! Nice team, it´s à great lodge. Of course not to be afraid of spiders and so on !

Review 78:Nothing

Review 79:Amazing place! Would go again! Great staff and atmosphere

Review 80:The friendly staff and bungalows.

Review 81:very quiet, relaxing, close to nature, good food, hospitality of the owners

Review 82:No bicycle for rent, not easy to reach the city center.

Review 83:not a lot of food choice at resturant but ok

Review 84:The staff were very frendly and accomodating, rooms were quaint with a camping feel, hot water...

Review 85:The food is expensive and not very good. Electricity blackouts sometimes, but probably to be expected in such a place.

Review 86:Very nice location.

Review 87:they didn't have anymore red wine.

Review 88:The restaurant, the area, the horses, the cows, the treehouse

Review 89:A little way out of the town however you can rent a motorbike or moto taxi. Didnt bother us at all but just for people to be aware.

Review 90:We had a great stay at nature lodge and liked it that much stayed an extra night. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow which was lovely. The surroundings were beautiful, so peaceful. Cham (one of the staff members) was fantastic so helpful, friendly and smiling.

Review 91:Location was out of the way. If you have luggage its hard to get there or back into town. The have a shuttle but it never seems to run, and they would not arrange it for us when we had to meet the mini bus. Every time you had to leave, you were paying for a bike or a taxi - if you didn't have time to walk 30min into town - it was pretty dark after the sunset.

Review 92:The staff was nice, and the setup was nice as well. The outdoor bungalows were cool.

Review 93:Maybe a bit far away from the town, but still worthy to stay!!

Review 94:Almost everything. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The bungalows in perfect condition and very cheap. The food was a bit more expensive than in town but was delicious and yummy. We will go back one day for sure!!! Thanks a lot for making our stay so special!!

Review 95:The doors didn't close in the room properly so it was quite cold and windy. It would also be better if the bus to the town centre was offered every day, rather than based on demand, or if there is not going to be a bus then a sign should be put up so that alternative arrangements can be made.

Review 96:Beautiful bar area and the staff were friendly. The food was very good.

Review 97:Very hard matresses (bruised my hip) It was very visible that the staff is still learning but this was mentionned by the organization

Review 98:Very beautiful remote location Well build bungalows Nice food

Review 99:They dont offer enough helmets for their scooters, which is really dangerous, specially in this area with dirt roads which get very very slippery after rain.

Review 100:The location is a bit far from the city center, which is alright for the activities this area is popular for. (trekking, jungle, waterfall, nature...)The bar is really nice, the food is average however the pizza was very good! The huts are very basic but alright and if you are a nature lover and you do not mind a spider, small bugs, antz or a grashoper in your hut, go for it...Helpful staff.

Review 101:Not really possible to go to town at night for dinner. But food at Nature Lodge is fine, so not a real problem

Review 102:Private cabin, ensuite bathroom (with hot shower!), great value for money, cool common area

Review 103:They say there is a natural spring to swim in but it's gross. Really dirty and lots of bugs around and stuff growing on the surface. Didn't know what we would catch if we went in!! Internet only available in the bar and isn't always great. Power goes off quite often. Not a lot of choice on menu and expensive no local dishes to choose that are usually cheap only western dishes. The restaurant bar area closes at 9pm and the Internet gets turned off then so can't use it later in the night for Skype home ect.

Review 104:Nice bungalow room with good bathroom and hot shower. Mossi net above bed was good as a few bugs around due to location but got no bites. Really nice surrounding area, trees, cows roaming around and 4 georgeous Cambodian ponies. Bar area good. Pool table, games books ect to use. Staff really helpful.

Review 105:That there was not much Khmer food to choose from on the menu, quite far away from other food choices in the village.

Review 106:I loved the rooms, the amazing fresh and well-prepared food, the friendly helpful staff, the quiet surroundings with amazing sunsets.

Review 107:Booked through booking.com and we booked 2 rooms but only 1 avail - butstaff was accommodating . Chicken sandwich was fried and not good

Review 108:Rustic, but clean- hot water was great, warm bed linens, great bar, nicestaff, really fun to stay in

Review 109:Restruant staff were slow

Review 110:It was chill

Review 111:Bar closing before 9 pm :)

Review 112:Great location, peaceful and quiet surroundings

Review 113:Staff

Review 114:Location.nature ,room ,food ,billiard ,price

Review 115:food is good but relatively expensive and items on menu are often out of stock.

Review 116:Nice rooms, good room rates, friendly staff and good food.

Review 117:It was raining a lot and the roof was leaking so there was water in my bungalow.

Review 118:The atmosphere, the friendly staff and nice food.
