Reviews for Altstadthotel Mosser
Review 1:I haven't seen any stuff at all. So if you need something you can wait for ages, nobody will care. Abslutely poor b-t, not hot mill at all (no amelette, no frankfuteres).Very expensive.
Review 2:Location
Review 3:It was a pleasure to walk through the endless corridors and study the exhibitions of the history of the hotel and the family Mosser. Good breakfast with coffee that you could take from the machine yourself.
Review 4:Nothing - although we found it hard to get used to the smoke within the bars and restaurants in Austria. It's so strange as the rules in Australia are so different.
Review 5:Nice and close to the old city. Family run hotel steeped in history. Excellent historic photos of the hotel around the walls. Great breakfast.
Review 6:what the hotel offers is not worth the price. The room is very noisy and you cannot sleep with the open window cos of noise coming from the street. No air conditioner, only a small fan. For sure it is not a 4 stars hotel and it is not worth the price. Never again!
Review 7:Location is ok, breakfast not so bad, but not even for a 4 star hotel. I think that such an old hotel should offer much more for the price it takes.
Review 8:Hotel and furniture is old. The bed and pillows are not comfortable. My room was just in front of the breakfast room and it was very noisy.
Review 9:Very close to train station. Friendly personnel. Clean rooms.
Review 10:only the internet connection, it didn't work, apparently too many people on it, which I can not understand
Review 11:location next to the train station, peaceful street spacious room
Review 12:No AC and the fan provided was only 6" across. So, the room was quite stuffy. If you're on the broader side, the shower will be a tight fit!
Review 13:The manager was very sweet and accommodated my need for directions and a special food needs for breakfast. Very nice breakfast buffet. Very close to the main train station.
Review 14:Conveniently located between the train station and the old town. The staff were obliging in arranging for our early checkout and breakfast. Comfortable rooms.
Review 15:I did not find my bed too comfy but that was me, others may find it fine. The towels we poor quality and could be improved on.
Review 16:Location great. Room really nice. Breakfast good. Overall a well presented and cared for hotel.
Review 17:We didn't like that the smoke from the cafe/bar permeates the entire building.
Review 18:We loved that the motel was so close to the train station, that it has so much history and that the rooms are HUGE and very comfortable.
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:The hotel is very near train station and the town center. The river and the view are so beautiful. The rooms we have are comfortable and clean. Easy to save budget by having kitchen in the room.
Review 21:Room opened directly onto breakfast room. So people eating breakfast see straight into room.
Review 22:Location excellent. Size of room excellent. Breakfast superb.
Review 23:The cleanliness of the family room was poor and everyting was quite old fashion and the facilities were not like the other 4 stars hotels we visited during our holiday. There was no air conditioning, just a propeller. Wi- fi was possible only for one device at the same time.
Review 24:Location was good while the hotel is situated in the Villach city centre and there was a parking place free of charge next to the hotel.
Review 25:A little noisey late at night. Right on a public square.
Review 26:Close to the river for cruises and shopping. Very nice staff. Clean modern rooms.
Review 27:Wonderful position, great history, spotless and would definitely return
Review 28:We stopped on our way to Croatsia , a Nice small hotel with resonable price and great rooms and food

Review 41:Just 3 minutes walk from Villach HBF station. Walk straight, can't miss it.
Review 42:Poor wifi signal in the room I was given.
Review 43:good location, close to historical center of a very nice city. Extensive breakfast.
Review 44:No WI FI in my room. Paid air conditioning, lack of mineral water in the room.
Review 45:Localization
Review 46:We had a "family room" and it was perfect. The location was right in the heart of the city and parking was very convenient.
Review 47:Location decor and breakfast
Review 48:very pleasant stay, wonderful and helpful staff, great breakfast, nice rooms...all perfect
Review 49:It was perfect from the train station, not even a five minute walk, beautiful location and village on the river. Very nice hotel and excellent staff, historical landmark.
Review 50:Besides rooms and the restaurant area, it isn't very pretty hotel...
Review 51:A very nice room, comfortable bad. Breakfast is also very good with a great variety of good food. The hotel lies in the very center of the city with a private parking.
Review 52:Equipment of the room was very old and uncomfortable and not clean. Reception staff was not too friendly. Four stars for this hotel is just mystification.
Review 53:Hotel location is close to the town centre.
Review 54:Somewhat modest Recption area does not match the quality of the rooms above. An old hotel but doing its best to keep up to date
Review 55:Central location, room, free parking
Review 56:-Church Bells ring every hour (but you get used to them) -Only 1 member of staff to run Bar/Cafe/Hotel Reception & Answer Telephone. She was very nice but delays were understandable as she was under pressure.
Review 57:-2 minute walk from railway station and in town centre -Good Bar/Cafe -Stylish building -No air conditioning but a fan was available -Room quite small though well equipped
Review 58:People smoking in the bar next to reception.
Review 59:We were after an overnight stay on the way to Venice. The Hotel more than met our needs, close to the railway station and to the centre of town. Good value for money.
Review 60:Very smoky cafe. Not all of the reception staff speaks English.
Review 61:Very close to the train and bus station, shopping, restaurants and riverfront. Free parking. Very helpful staff. Nice selection for breakfast which is served in a pleasant bright sunroom with tropical plants. Breakfast is replenished constantly. Breakfast included cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, juices, milk, coffee, tea, breads, cold cuts, cheese, numerous spreads. Hotel has interesting displays about the history of Villach, the Mosser family and the hotel. Rooms are modern. Very large, bright and nice bathroom. Comfortable beds and pilllows. Thick curtains. Free working Wi-Fi. We stayed overnight in Villach to take the bus to Venice. The Villach train and bus station is the cleanest I have ever seen. There are luggage lockers on the lower level of the train station. The hotel is close to our favorite Austrian restaurant, Nordsee, which serves fresh seafood at a reasonable price. The main street is the shopping area for locals. It has clothing, souvenirs, apotheke (pharmacy), a drugstore (selling cosmetics, toiletries, vitamins, plasters - Band-aids etc. - whatever you cannot find at the pharmacy or the supermarket), Billa supermarket, Mc Donalds, cafes, restaurants, pastry shops (konditorei) and churches.
Alles in allem Super.
Review 64:The bar down stairs was handy but I did not like the smoke - but that is the norm in Austria not particularly the Mosser Hotel fault.
Review 65:The hotel was fantatsic and you could really tell that it has been in the one family for eight generations. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts had plenty of variety. A good choice, all in all we had a great stay
Review 66:Excellent town centre location. High specification of furniture and fittings. Friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Reasonable price. Car parking. Lovely breakfast choices.
Review 67:Frankly speaking I liked everything in that hotel. First of all the verygood location just across the river to the Old Town. Then the very nice, spacy, comfortable room. The hotel itself was build in 1748, bombed downin 1945, however, it corresponds to all demands of today´s guests afterprobably its recent rennovation. And not to forget, the informationabout the possibility of parking my car at the hotel parking site wastrue and not just a marketing trick as I experienced several times ago.
Review 68:My only complaint was the bells from the nearby church on Sundaymorning. Even then they were quite pleasant once you became used tothem.
Review 69:Located in the middle of town with its own parking & free wifi thatworked extremely well. Rooms were modern large, comfortable & withb anice bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpfull.
