Review 1:They closed the bar at the lagoon pool at 6.00pm and we were told that if we wanted a drink we could go get dressed go into the casino ask for a drink in plastic and then we could bring it back to the pool. Very poor management.

Review 3:The pool bar needs to be more welcoming and the staff actually work in the bar and not yell at you from above. Cove Restraunt has been shut for a while, they say for wet season...... It just needs to be managed better. Lagoon rooms were built in 2012, the rest of the hotel needs to be updated to match.

Review 11:Excellent pool ocean side pool and amazing lagoon pool.Nice clean comfortable bed, ocean view. Very good Italian restaurant, low wet season prices (but gorgeous sunshine all week) made it an excellent deal! :-)

Review 12:Disappointed that reception doesn't explain what activities are on or avail. For example Skycity have a connection with the golf course over the road that playing fees are void if staying at the resort . No where was this mentioned and the only way we found out was when we went to the course to buy some items and told then after we explained where we are staying.We requested and received approval for a late check out from 11.00 am to 12 noon but we got locked out at 11.oo am and had to go to reception to assist - frustrating when it was approved. I understand that Skycity is first and foremost a casino but I would have liked a shuttle service to the city centre for those guests that don't gamble and would like to explore Darwin more as the resort is quite a distance from downtown.

Review 14:Both the swimming pools were discustingly dirty. We ate and drank from 3 restaraunts all three were really bad ,one was so bad after waiting for 50 mins for some food we then had to send it back.

Review 16:Only minor, but another shelf in shower recess to put shampoo, conditioner, razor would have been very helpful. Had to keep bending to get them from floor. Shower leaked water from bottom of door, so bath mat was already wet when getting out of shower.

Review 17:Location was central to everything. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Our room had balcony with sea views.

Review 18:The rooms were standard - not what I would call 5 star. Walls by the bed were not clean, with spill marks on them. Blinds were pretty dusty. Our balcony overlooked rooftops. Food at the restaurants were nothing special, better off going into CBD for a bite to eat.

Review 20:The smell of the cleaning products The price of car parking when it is not even undercover parking. The mouldy smell throughout the building. Brown muddy water coming out of taps and we were not even advised. We had to tell them. When you book in for over 5 days parking should be free. Bed to hard and pillows too hard.

Review 22:Not enough ala cart restaurants open and unable to get into restaurant of choice. Buffet breakfast cold. Walkway to main bldg uncovered part of way. My friend was in main bldg and room musty, extremely cold, not worth the money. These rooms badly need upgrading if you want us to continue to book here. Locals not eligible for special as we booked online but paid premium price as was Xmas.

Review 23:I was upgraded to the Lagoon Resort due to problem with my room. That was very comfortable and enjoyable

Review 30:The biggest problem is the staff. The majority of them were very unfriendly and unhelpful. We ended up dealing with the manager at reception and he was most helpful and sorted our booking problem. Maybe that's why he was the manager. Bar staff at lagoon pool seem very annoyed unfriendly. If u asked for water with a cocktail them seemed annoyed and that it was a big inconvience. Darwin is hot u need to hydrate. Limited black jack tables

Review 32:To be picky the air conditioner in the room was way too cold but I read that in other reviews, just left the balcony door open half hour and it was pleasant . There are also spare blankets in the wardrobe !

Review 38:For a 5 star ,was disappointed when arriving at the Lagoon bar if there was any tomato juice for a bloody Mary , NO, when asked for a diet coke ,NO when asked for a sparkling water NO and the waitress was not friendly at all, Stay in the room was ok, although it took an hour to get a bucket of ice to cool our champagne down as the fridge was not cold at all.

Review 45:It was my birthday and we decided to say the night at the Casino firstly you charge to much for the accommodation especially that you don't get breakfast included. We had dinner at il Piato with family and friends could not say that it was fantastic. and Lastly the breakfast was very poor the bacon was like rubber and the eggs were dry and everything was cold. You really need to improve in that area.

Review 46:The room smelt musty when we entered and there were marks on my bed cover. Cheaper offer on local TV and questioned this but was not honored just given excuses. The Breakfast at the old Sun Set Restaurant was a little expensive!

Review 54:The tap in the bathroom was a problem - it did not turn on without an effort. Some parts are becoming a little old and probably need a revamp. However we enjoyed out stay. Parking is a bit of an issue - having to park over at the Casino or pay.

Review 76:Wonderful resort right in front of Mindil beach, the famous market is just at 100 meters. Our room was the standard one but big enough and very nice. Super comfy bed, great rest. Excellent customer service for the duration of our stay, especially at the time of the check-out. Our plane was at midnight, we did the check out in the morning and they let us to use the resorts facilities (pools, bars, towels etc) and have a shower at the gym just before we went to the airport. We couldn't ask for more than that! Exceptional value for money. We had great time there, can't wait to go back!

Review 77:The breakfast restaurant service was terrible, too costly for the quality - coffee was not pleasant. Also quite far from town no shop for forgotten produce like toiletries or sun cream.

Review 91:The furniture and finishes on everything in the room seemed old or damaged. Our rug had huge stains and we felt we had to have our thongs on inside. Cracked and chipped tiles. Dirty marks on the walls. Old and super outdated furniture.

Review 92:I'm a Darwin local, my family and I stayed for 3 nights in a superior lagoon room. The location felt like we were overseas, not at home in Darwin. The superior rooms are awesome as you have your own little deck, with a secure glassed pool fence (to keep the toddlers and babies in!) and then another deck within the pool and you can jump straight in! Huge bath

Review 94:We love the location, Lagoon pool and our one bedroom suite. If you dont like the heat, then dont go unless you plan to swim all day. Do not expect perfection, just a laid back experience. Stress free holiday.

Review 95:The first days we tried a variety of items from the limited room service menu and the vast majority were horrible, from then on we ate out. One of the dumbest things is the position of the taps, they are so low you cannot fill a kettle direct, you have to use a glass.

Review 100:I loved the 2 pool areas. The Room faced the beach - lovely watching the sunset from the balcony and options to sit at the bar/restaurants to also watch the sunset. Flight home was at a ridiculous hour, however Skycity was accommodating with usage of pool facilities, shower, to recharge my phone.

Review 101:pools were way too cold for the time of year, we were expecting a pool or ocean view but instead we had a view of a roof. the day spa was booked out for our whole stay before we arrived the option to book when we booked the room would have been apreciated, plus never seen the advertised pillow menu.

Review 103:Booked a wake up call at 5.45am sand received it at 1.45am! Booked into breakfast at 6.00am and it wasn't open until 6.20am. No staff turned up to open restaurant! Walking around the hotel there was cans and food outside the rooms that no staff cleared up for hours.

Review 134:Wi-Fi continued to cut in and out, a lot of the channels on the TV didn't seem to work (even the free to air channels), we order room service as all the restaurants were full, and it was cold by the time we got it which was not pleasant at all.

Review 140:The air conditioning or air cooler was a worry I could smell dampness and the vents had listeria on them. we had no control over it we couldnt even turn it off the hotel said it had to be adjusted through the roof which they would have needed access through our room while we werent there.... The people in the casino were not very friendly very stern faces although the ones on the gaming table seemed to have more personality.

Review 142:The F&B service at the swimming pool is/was terrible - no food menu on display and very slow service. The food was fine, although it has been much better in the past - the standard and service across the hotel has dropped in the past years.
