Reviews for Residencial Columbano

Review 1:Breakfast meets only portugese standard.

Review 2:Very polite and helpfull staff. I've been there five times and will have another 4 stays in the future. Highly recommended for people with good standard expectations.

Review 3:Our room smelled of smoke. I went down and asked about the non-smoking rooms (that the booking.com profile states) and they said it doesn't exist. The room was tidy but the sheets didn't feel clean. Don't come for breakfast as it isn't much.

Review 4:The bathroom seems to the the only part that had a facelift. It was more modern than the room and was comfortable.

Review 6:The walls/doors are a bit thin and neighbours can be heard sometimes. Ours were pretty quiet so not a problem for us.

Review 7:Location is away from centre of Regua but within easy walking distance. Basic but adequate no frills accommodation. Efficient air-con in room. You get what you pay for and this was good value for this popular tourist area. Buffet breakfast with reasonable selection was fine. Free off street parking - first come first parked but quite a few spaces.

Review 10:The room was old and had a bit of a smell. The elevator was old and a little scary. The beds weren't very comfortable. But we could have overlooked all of that if the breakfast was good, but unfortunately it wasn't. Bad coffee, terrible juice, and almost nothing to choose from - only bread, cheese, ham, a few croissants and a small selection of spreads. No eggs, sausage, bacon or anything you would expect from a hotel breakfast.

Review 11:Some of the staff was very friendly and the hotel is conveniently located in Régua, just outside the city center.

Review 12:There were two cafes which were good, and two restaurants which I didnt like too much and didn't use. The other restaurants are about 1 km away. OK if you have a car.

Review 13:Everything really. The whole quality of service and accommodation I cant fault. The swimming pool area exceeded my expectation and with a cafe/bar, lawns with apply orchard and great views across the river to the hills.

Review 14:stuff speaks poor English and doesn't know anything about the recommended activities in the region, I got my tips from the man at the train station breakfast buffet doesn't offer healthy choice like brown bread or cereals or Yoghurt chairs in the breakfast area, very uncomfortable, too small we had booked a double but the bed was a twin, pillow very small and thin, had neck pain after sleeping there coffee bar next door, somebody tried to sing there, very loud, bad and disturbed our sleep at the first evening, it is however not noisy every night

Review 15:Pool Garden View from room 107 to Douro Valley Lidl close by coffee bar in front of Lidl, had a great Cappuccino there walk along the river to get from the station to the hotel Living room - very comfy bird concert in the morning and country side quietness

Review 16:Bedroom a bit small but adequate. Breakfast menu a little restricted.

Review 17:Lovely pool and garden area with fantastic view of Douro. Nice seating outside hotel giving privacy from road. Outside seating allowed meals to be eaten outside.

Review 18:plastic sheeting on the bed - desperately uncomfortable to sleep on Thin walls - had to knock on wall of adjoining room at 0045 to get occupant to turn down TV volume and then could hear snoring all night

Review 19:Helpful staff Fantastic massive swimming pool and garden area overlooking Douro river - quite lovely Considering the area of the hotel, lovely seating area outside both for evening drink/coffee and to sit out for breakfast

Review 20:Breakfast was extremely basic as you would expect but a little too basic for me so I had to skip it. It is a little way out but it is a fairly pleasant walk to get into "town"

Review 21:We stayed at a wide range of hotels while travelling in Portugal but booked this one for a bit of a change. It was a three star but seems not to be anymore. It is a very basic hotel but does exactly what it advertises. The pool was way better than I expected. The rooms were comfortable enough and everything worked. Can't expect more for the price. Would fully recommend the "romance package" they offer. It says you get a drink on arrival. What we got was an entire bottle of port which provided many a nice nightcap for us for the rest of our trip :)

Review 22:large room, clan quiet with windows overlooking the river. A good, big breakfast (no only sweet). Fresh linens.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Location

Review 25:location a bit far from town centre

Review 26:facilities

Review 27:Rooms need an upgrade, smelly carpets.

Review 28:Nice location on the Douro, with nice swimming pool

Review 29:advertised with pool and on 35 degree day guess what? Pool not open!

Review 30:price, quiet room, comfortable beds good a/c

Review 31:Juice in the breakfast

Review 32:Good location, nice staff, spacious room for three, good value for money

Review 33:nothing

Review 34:good breakfast, great location, swimming pool

Review 35:Lack of WiFi in the room

Review 36:Quiet, good sleep, nice and helpful staff

Review 37:Small room space

Review 38:Use of pool

Review 39:rooms are very tight.Elementary breakfast buffet.

Review 40:Good location in the middle of the Douro valley.

Review 41:The location, the staff. Good value for money

Review 42:It was a bit of a longer walk to the river dock area for cruises than the desk clerk said. We could have driven part of the way.

Review 43:relatively low price, quiet location.

Review 44:Not all rooms have full view on the duoro (only two doublebed rooms per floor which i recommend if this is one of your priority)

Review 45:Very clean. Beds are ok. Breakfest gives the essentials. WiFi in Lobby which i still could get in first floor. Nothing really to complain about.

Review 46:The room and all the hotel facilities were very hot, although you could change the temperature in the room (AC is available) in the common areas you couldn't do anything about it. The TV channel offer is a bit limited. The hotel is a bit far from the city center if you don't have a car.

Review 47:The hotel staff were at all times available for every request and always very, very pleasant. The room view to the Douro valley, river and Régua city center is awesome. The swimming pool is the cherry in the top offer specially in those very hot late Summer afternoons. The best value for money option in the area.

Review 48:- Too expensive for such old facilities and rather grimmy surroundings, definetely not on the "pretty" side of the town; - Basic breakfeast with very cheap coffee.

Review 49:Parking lot Swimming pool Staff

Review 50:the location was great, the poool was large clean and well govened, rooms were clean and of good size, and hotel extreamly cheep, brilliant, would certainly go again

Review 51:Booking.com reservations printed an left on reception desk. Nothing to worry about except for the credit card information of the clients all over it!!!

Review 52:Flexible breakfast hour and ale checkout

Review 53:no complaints

Review 54:Neat, very clean and comfortable stay of 3 nights. Has a good private parking and good breakfast. Rooms and nice and facilities were good enough. has a swimming pool but open only in summer and tennis court but bring your own rackets and balls. :)

Review 55:I dont recommend this Hotel to anyone. As soon as we got there, at thelobby, there were really weird people with really weird talks. At thecheck-in, I just wanted to leave quickly to the room. But when I got tothe room, it was so small and awfull. I've seen elevators bigger thanthis room. My girlfriend and I were in shock, as it is one of the worsewe've seen. And the carpet on the floor doesnt help also. Everything isold and looks like it was used a million times (but not cleaned amillion times...) Positive side, the guy at the reception changed ourroom to a bigger one, which kept the same flaws but was bigger. It is not expensive, but I'd rather stay somewhere else and pay more.

Review 56:Staff is helpful.

Review 57:It was quite a long walk from the railway station with luggage, but the walk back along the riverside into town was lovely.

Review 58:The view from our bedroom window, directly onto the Douro River, was lovely. The dining and lounge areas were very nice too, and the breakfast beautifully presented.

Review 59:Good swimming pool. In the morning cocks crow. Convenient Parking.Nearby supermarket with a good range of needed features for travelers. To the city centre 500 meters.
