Reviews for Queen Grand Boutique Hotel and Spa
Review 1:Do not be fooled by the "pool" photo - there is no pool (swimming is not possible) - it is only a jacuzzi, which appears far larger than it is by the use of a clever camera angle and lens. The only meal we ate in the restaurant (first evening) and any hot food at breakfast subsequently were beautifully presented, but served COLD. The art of serving hot food "hot" has yet to be mastered by this hotel. The salads were even full of ice!!! The breakfast buffet selection was "average".
Review 2:The location was good being near the Royal Palace - reasonable access to other places by foot or tuk-tuk. Staff helpful and a good spa facility. This hotel would be better value for money if it had a "no breakfast option" when booking.
Review 3:Went to breakfast a bit late and some of the juices were not refilled.
Review 4:Great location near the main park, easy to get tuk tuk anywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful
Review 5:Restaurant service was limited and not great nearby options for food. Should have eaten at skybar as at least had nice veiws instead of restaurant.
Review 6:Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice rooms and facilities, including massage services.
Review 7:The Queen Grand Boutique Hotel exceeded our expectations. On arrival at the airport, the driver met us and gave us an informed historical commentary on route to the hotel. Upon check, we were given a room upgrade with a balcony and a higher floor level for a better view over the city. Very friendly and accommodating staff for help with booking tours and providing knowledgeable tourist advice. As it was close to New Years Eve, we were invited to the year end staff party which was a great way to see first hand the enthusiasm and commitment the staff, management and owner had towards the hotel's ongoing success. Rooftop pool and bar is small but a great way to relax and meet fellow guests while looking over the city roof tops. The breakfast selection buffet in the morning was very diverse, fresh and of good quality. Location on Long Nget Street is close enough to walk to major attractions (Royal Palace, National Museum, Riverside and Wat Bottom Park) but quiet enough not to hear the traffic noises. Overall it lives up to the 4.5/5 by Booking.com and 8.8/10 that was given to it by others. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
Review 8:The noise in the morning awoke us quite early, but that is to be expected whilst staying in the heart of the city.
Review 9:The staff were incredibly helpful and the complimentary breakfast was a highlight. Particularly the Cambodian selection. We also had to leave early in the morning for our flight, and the staff arranged a take away breakfast!
Review 10:If I have one criticism it is that the breakfast buffet is only lukewarm and not kept hot. However there are plenty of very affordable places nearby to eat breakfast if you need to. But that is very minor compared to the overall beautiful hotel and experience.
Review 11:The hotel is in an excellent location and is a very attractive atmospheric hotel. Even the standard rooms are large and the staff are professional and friendly. The breakfast is delicious and has a large variety. The hotel also organised a car at the same price we would have paid with a cheap travel agent, to Sihanoukville so that was a nice surprise.
Review 12:They have no cots which seems a common theme in Cambodia and I guess not a problem for most people.
Review 13:Staff were super friendly and helpful with our 9 month old. They also booked onward bus tickets for us. Location was brilliant, on a cute little street with different eating options and just a short walk to a big park, the palace and riverfront. The plunge pool was small but lovely to cool off in.
Review 14:The main road to hotel is like a small back lane. The hotel main entrance area did not have proper area for car pick-up and unload guest.
Review 15:Location close to town centre.
Review 16:Really nice hotel - the roof top bar is awesome and the pool makes it even better.. The staff were super friendly especially in the bar and gave us ideas of what to do... The local is also great on a cute street by all the main attractions within walking distance.. For things further afield they had tuk-tuks outside to take you.. Would definitely recommend it to all!!
Review 17:The food (eXcepet breakfast) wasn't great and was more pricey than restaurants in the area. The staff want you to book trips with them but it's not always the best way
Review 18:Everything was excellent. Lovely greeting on arrival, great staff who speak good English. Roof top pool is lush and the rooms have everything you need and USA tv. The breakfast is included and there is loads of delicious stuff. We are going back in a week or two. They let us leave our bags with them too which was nice.
Review 19:We booked a room with a balcony, which we received, but the view was of a wall and the hotel next door! Also there was a gap in the balcony door seal, which let in mosquitos. They fixed it but it wasn't completely fixed.
Review 20:Friendly staff, helpful; breakfast included was great advantage and set us up for the day. Location near to a few good tourist restaurants
Review 21:Reception and management are pushy and rude. They barely speak any English. They try to be nice at times but only complicate things.
Review 22:Location was okay, clean, relaxing atmosphere
Review 23:I booked online with my credit card for guaranty but at arrival theyasked me to give my credit card to ensure the payment ! (I have been inother places much more expensive but was never asked to give myC.C.)!there is no swimming pool, just a jacuzzi ! The threat of us$100.-Fine if you smoke in the room ! I went back with a durian and wassurrounded by several staff like a terrorist to prevent me of going intomy room with that expensive fruit ! There was only one seat in the socalled balcony, for a twin room ! So next time I'll for sure avoidto go back there !
Review 24:Very kind staffs ! The location !
Review 25:The hotel hide many things what they informed free offer in the hotel. Example that breakfast when i finished it then see the offered inform on table tap said include fride egg or bacon ect. And the power was off at morning around 8:30~9:50. Means dont stay anymore after breakfast. Poor mind!!!
Review 26:Staff
Review 27:Free coffee at breakfast is from Mondulkiri and is weak. You can pay for espresso but the beans and the machine produced the worst I've ever tried. Totally undrinkable.
Review 28:Whole hotel is spotless and the staff make such an effort to greet and talk. At this price level it's the best in town
Review 29:The aircon was directly beside the bed so it was a little uncomfortable having it blow in my face during the night. (And too hot not to have on.)
Review 30:Great location, great staff, large, clean and modern rooms.
Review 31:Pool too small, not able to relax and sunbathe, safe very difficult to work.
Review 32:Great location, lovely helpful staff, contemporary style, fantastic breakfast.
Review 33:The staff were friendly and very helpful. A free upgrade to a room with a balcony was a nice surprise as well. We're not easily pleased, but were very happy with our stay.
Review 34:Room wasn't clean at all, dust everywhere, lack of toilet papers, there was a lizard in my room and insects were all over the hotel
Review 35:Reception staff are kind
Review 36:I thought the breakfast was average and no pool they had like an oversized spa bath.
Review 37:I liked the location, comfortable and clean rooms and the super friendly staff.
Review 38:Please post thus review so others are not victims to this horrified scams. I am not happy that Booking.com did not respond to my assist while I was over there.
Review 39:Absolutely a horrible place to stay. They lied on the photos how beautiful their hotel was. The fact is this hotel is a dump. On top of thus all, construction us on-going and guests have to out up with constant jack hammer and other noises. There is nothing nice to say about this hotel
Review 40:No choice of veg food and was very tough to make staff understand what we meant by veg. View from most deluse and deluxe with balcony not good
Review 41:Courteous staff clean rooms Staff Spoke English well. location is ok.
Review 42:Only thing to note is that pool is more of a large whirlpool but still enough space to float and move around. Water could have been cleaner. Otherwise fine.
Review 43:Cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, modernity of room and facilities.
Review 44:The breakfast selection is limited.
Review 45:-The friendly and helpful staffs. There was a last minute early check in that we had to request and they were still able to accomodate it. They gave us an idea on how much the tuktuk fare would be to/from our location to avoid overcharging of tuktuk fare. They suggests places to visit and these are all for free. -Wifi is good even inside our room. -Rooftop bar and the pool/jacuzi.
Review 46:The team won't help you if you have any difficulties : my bag was stolen (with everything inside passport, phone, credit card, cash, it happens a lot apparently in PP) and the staff didn't help us to call my bank to oppose my card, or to direct us to the police, they basically didn't do anything ... except charging 30 usd for the stolen key of the room that was in my bag (unbelievable!!) Breakfast really not good
Review 47:The room is very comfortable and the rooftop with the pool is greatly enjoyable, everything is renewed and comfortable. Big room with all the amenities you need. The hotel is quiet and in a good location.
Review 48:We let the staff know that we will come for breakfast at 6 (they start at 6) as we have a bus at 6.15. When we came down breakfast wasn't ready and staff rudley told us not to touch any bread or pastry that was out as they will pack us food. When i walked over to the counter to get water the waitress shouted at me not too touch anything. The packed bfast was 1 piece of dry bread and banana. When i complained i was told again very rudly i cant touch any food as im getting packed bfast of 1 piece of dry bread and banana. So i didn't get a breakfast i paid for on day of my departure as it wasn't ready on time. The desk staff laughed at me when i complained.
Review 49:Staff was very rude and unapproachable.
Review 50:- The roof pool is a Jacuzzi Only
Review 51:- Helpful Staff, I lost the lens on roof, staff found and kept it. - The L-shaped Balcony is good for resting - Wide Selection of Breatfast (can order noodle, various types of egg) - Good Room Service
Review 52:Room 404 has a poor view. TV image was out of tune.
Review 53:Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good location. Tasty breakfast and clean room with practical bathroom.
Review 54:Everything about this property was excellent. The service and staff were extremely good and always happy to help. The room was of excellent standard, lovely bathroom/shower, comfy bed.
Review 55:trying to work out where to stay in Phnom Penh can be a pain. Having been there as a holiday tourist I am delighted with the location. The hotel is brand new and the staff are amazingly friendly. Price didn't seem to reflect the level of service. They could charge a lot more for what they offer. rooms are huge and very modern (hi-tech looking electronic key cards that I haven't even seen in Europe). And the roof bar is a pretty nice place to crash in the evening too. walking distance to most of the central attractions (palace, museum etc.).
Review 56:Only a rude tuck tuck driver, who was told by staff to get lost.
Review 57:Calmness,music,water features, Fisk flowers, hot water and all staff.the manager spoke to a demanding rude tuck tuck driver, told him to get lost.
Review 58:Rooftop pool is nowhere as big as photos suggest - it's really a large jacuzzi - but it nevertheless is a nice place to be when it's hot
Review 59:Staff Location Breakfast Size of rooms
Review 60:Safe: in room had a rotary wheel setting which used to take too muchtime to open. Size of the safe is not adequate to keep even a 14"screen laptop or file folder.SWIMMING POOL: is too small & good enough for just soaking in water to cool down. Water was not clean and I got out of it in just a few minutes. BALCONY: Most rooms have balcony facing other adjacent buildings or roof tops. They did upgrade we at extra fees for a city view balcony but its width is less than 3 feet. SPA: the reception hostess was good but the rooms were hot & sweaty as AC does not function properly. PRICE: seems too high considering the facilities given for a 4 star property. It would have been good if I booked its group adjacent property KING GRAND which has lower cost rooms.
Review 61:I had been there for 3 nights on a business trip. Found this hotel to begood central location in tourist friendly area, good breakfast and happyto serve staff. The tour desk lady is very good & guides well.
Review 62:So many remork (local tuk tuk) in front of the hotel calling you for a "tuk-tuk" sir every 10m you walk. But not the hotel fault.
Review 63:The staff was very nice and have good level of service skill. I enjoy that the hotel also do have plugs that allows you to use your original power plug without adapter. Walking distance to Royal palace
Review 64:The internet went down one time but that is beyond control of the staff.
Review 65:The staff, location, cleanliness, and comfort were fantastic! I would absolutely stay here again, and plan on it next time in Phnom Pen.
Review 66:good location close to all sightseeing higlights but once you get out of the hotel, you're agressively approached by annoying tuk-tuk drivers directly at hotel entrance
Review 67:very friendly & helpful staff, nice spacious rooms, top breakfast buffet, nice rooftop bar
Review 68:Very noisy! The concierge wasn't of any help - in the contrary her advise for taking tours and domestic transport felt like a rip off!
Review 69:Rooftop bar
Review 70:The view from the rooms was of the rooftops or windows of other buildings next door so we kept the curtains drawn. But this is no fault of the hotel and nothing much can be done about it.
Review 71:Queen Grand Boutique is a lovely hotel. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to assist you in any way possible. They are always happy and smiling. The roof top area with pool and bar is lovely and a great place to relax with a drink whilst looking out over the grand palace and river. The day spa is also very good value with nice facilities and caring staff. The lobby is elegantly decorated and makes for a great first impression. Cool towel and welcome drink on arrival are also a nice touch.
Review 72:A bit disappointed with the tuk tuk arrangement with the tour desk. Paid full to the hotel but the driver ask to pay extra. Understand its not totally hotel's fault.
Review 73:The location is excellent, many restaurants a step away, walking distance to Royal Palace and the river. The automatic door lock is really good, the buffer breakfast is excellent and the menu changes the next day. The room is spacious and nicely decorated.
Review 74:Perfect stay! Staff went out of their way to help us, breakfast was extraordinary (both big buffet and menu) and rooftop pool bar was a blast. Comfy beds, big room, very clean, great bathroom. Had an excellent time here and can definitely recommend this place!
Review 75:Rooms little small but still comfy. Great view with balcony.
Review 76:Loved the location, central to all. Massage awesome, staff very helpful. Nice pool and bar area.
Review 77:Location is a bit out of place - close to tourist attractions and some food options, otherwise distant from clubs and bars. For a younger couple such as ourselves, we would recommend assessing options closer to the centre of town. Otherwise I couldn't fault the hotel.
Review 78:My partner and I stayed over a four night period and absolutely loved the hotel. Brilliant staff whom remained attentive from check in to check out; relatively large, modern rooms with a lot of storage space and an excellent bathroom; nice pool and bad facilities. Really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it again.
Review 79:My husband needed to print an urgent one-page document for his job, and they charged 1USD for it! Also they damaged our USB full of important documents...
Review 80:Bed is comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast is OK. The spa is excellent, I had the best massage in all South Asia there!
Review 81:Our room wasn't cleaned till we asked them too. It was very noisy, you can hear the footsteps from the next room. Poor breakfast selection-poor wifi connection. Staffs were ok.
Review 82:Location walking distance from the royal palace-river-park.
Review 83:jacuzzi pool was very cold, one would except this sort of a pool (not for swimming) to be warmed
Review 84:close to the center, good price for a taxi to the airport, not a noisy street, tasty breakfast buffet
Review 85:Sometimes the shower water is not warm enough.
Review 86:Clean room, Friendly crews, and Nice service. The Hotel is located near by Royal Palace and Big Fountain Park. Very excellent location. There are many nice restaurant around, too. The top floor sky bar is windy and the Jacuzzi only has cold water. So not many people use that.
Review 87:Everything! Staff super friendly and helpful. Close to eating places and nightlife. The best place we stayed at during our 3 week trip in Cambodia!
Review 88:It was a bit hard to find, but once we found it, that was all forgotten.
Review 89:Everything, I've stayed in many hotels,& this hotel I would put in my 5 top hotels, I've stayed in hotels that cost $1700 per night & they don't come near this hotel, this is Excellent, its one of those hotels that everything just works, fast wifi, great professional staff, clean comfortable, great everything!
Review 90:Had a mix up at the spa so didnt get first spa treatment because of time
Review 91:Friendly staff- everywhere Great location- close to palace and river Clean and comfortable
Review 92:1. New and well-functioning facilities 2. Modern design with local characteristics 3. Friendly staff 4. Located very close to the palace and the riverfront, about 5 minutes each way. 5. Good wifi
Review 93:very small swimming pool expensive massage very small bathroom althrough comfortable
Review 94:very friendly staff good breakfast excellent cocktails lovely decoration of hôtel and rooms
Review 95:We arrived late (22h30) and there was not even some chips or peanuts in minibar or bar It was impossible to sleep because of outside noise and also AC is bad because it is oriented to the bed, so you need to spend the full night switching it on and off in order not to freeze/melt
Review 96:Location was great, next to Royal Palace. Entrance of the hotel is nice
Review 97:I love this hotel! Normally I wouldn't be able to afford a place like this, but given that things are cheaper in Phnom Penh, I jumped at the chance to stay at the Queen Grand Boutique Hotel. The room was very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It comes with a refrigerator, safe, TV, and AC. Breakfast came with a mini buffet with salads, fruits, bread, and noodles. As well as your choice of eggs and bacon or noodle soup. The rooftop bar is also a nice area to relax after your long day of sightseeing.
Review 98:The hotel is in the middle of the street, so what you will see from your balcony is the wall of another hotel. The security card to enter the room, a very modern sistem but sometimes a little bit difficult to use.
Review 99:Modern design. Big, comfortable and extremely clean room. Friendly staff. Correct breakfast with a buffet selection and some other dishes you can ask for. Rooftop bar with great views and a jacuzzi. Perfect location to explore the city.
Review 100:Set up at the shower area is odd ( at least in my room), toilets gets messy with all over water
Review 101:Spacious clean rooms, good variety in breakfast, friendly English speaking staffs,
Review 102:We loved our stay at the Queen Grand. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooftop pool and bar were really great. We even went for a late nite swim, with no issue. We stayed on the 5th floor in a balcony room and the rooms and bathroom, we're big, clean and spacious. Location was great, a bunch of really nice bars within 100m's (our favourite was Same Same - try the Watermelon MaiTai). About a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the Royal Palace and about 20 minutes to Teoul Sleng/ Genocide Museum
Review 103:my friend and I had a nice time in phnom pehn at the queens grand, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very nice, my friend and I had a great massage, which really helped. The rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was nice and clean. Thank you for making our stay comfortable. Julie and Janet.
Review 104:Nothing.
Review 105:Location, it felt a busy and safe location without being noisy. Close to the palace and riverside. Staff, really friendly, genuine and helpful. Room, was beautiful, comfortable, wifi good and very clean.
Review 106:WiFi was intermittent and required numerous calls to reception to have it reset.
Review 107:Good quality hotel at a very reasonable price right in the heart of the Palace district.
Review 108:Room has no real great view but with the value for money, there is noting worth mentioning or complaining.
Review 109:Awesome staff who are always willing to help. Room nice and clean. Lovely breakfast which is included in the rates. Close to the Royal Palace. Within walking distance to all the riverfront restaurants or a short Tuk Tuk ride.
Review 110:From the minute we arrived the staff were nothing but friendly and helpful. The hotel is more than reasonably priced as is was very clean and modern. Location perfect for us near a lot of main monuments that tourists like to see. Buffett breakfast delicious. I am an extremely fussy person but could not fault this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone. The sky bar a beautiful look out, peaceful and bar mans cocktails were the best. Thank you Queen Grand staff for making our stay perfect.
Review 111:The glass of the shower was too small, that a lot of water spilled out and flooded the whole bathroom. This wifi was slow as hell even if the router was next to our room.
Review 112:The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was super friendly. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and the location was close to everything.
Review 113:Locks on the room door and safe we're a bit troublesome due to whatseems to be an attempt to use snazzy-looking technology -more troublethan it's worth, give me a classic key card any day. The pool isactually in the adjoining hotel but access is very easy through acentral doorway, although the pool is a lot smaller than I had expected- not big enough to swim lengths, just have a bob around. Breakfast notparticularly grand but will set you up and food out and about is veryaffordable anyway. Don't order a fruit shake here, you just get adisappointing glass of fruit juice not a proper Cambodian shake. Nicecoffees though.
Review 114:Friendly staff, good location close to the river and some sights.Room was spacious and clean with nice shower room, bathrobes andslippers. Hotel road has a series of spas where you can pop out andget massages or manicures before bed. They will even let you order acocktail from the bar over the road of you want, although wedidn't take them up on this!
Review 115:Pool/jacuzzi & roof top bar closed for maintenance during our stay & wasnt informed prior. Very hard bed and pillow too hard & high. Breakfast selection basic and boring. Staff lacking friendly interaction with guests
Review 116:Close to most areas of interest.
Review 117:Unfortunately the pool area wasn't open as think it was under maintenance which was a bit annoying. However their sister hotel next door had one but the area didn't look as good as the pictures in the queen plus the pool was tiny. The electric door lock was hard to work and also the safe was also hard to work. These could all have been circumstantial though.
Review 118:The staff were all lovely and very helpful. They even organised our airport pick up (for a small fee) and our visas for Vietnam. It was modern and clean and a good location.
Review 119:Double room is small; unusable balcony with no furniture and not worth extra cost, one small towel rail in overall staff pleasant but appeared untrained and tentative; bathroom hence towels are arranged on the bed;no drawers for storing clothes; no place to place suitcase except the bed, door key and safety deposit box not user friendly; breakfast adequate-juice containers always low to empty but staff untrained in service delivery.
Review 120:Location,cleanliness,comfortable bed
Review 121:It is difficult to turn on the tap for the wash basin on the small vanity counter because it was loosen. There is no hook to hang used bath towel in the bathroom.
Review 122:Hotel is situated in a quiet side lane however the lane is usually parked with many tuk-tuk which make it very difficult for cars to pass thru.
Review 123:Few things didn't work. Had trouble with safe that took a while to fix. Room was a lot smaller than looked on the brochure. Breakfast was a little limited.
Review 124:pool top very nice, friendly staff
Review 125:Altough the roof top pool is filtered all the time, but seems dusty and slippery on the bottom. should brush periodicaly. Smelly road in front of the hotel but seems it is a common issue in all the streets.
Review 126:Helpful and good manners staff, mostly can speak English. Comfort and clean room & bed. Love the green plants infront the hotel, roof top pool is an excellent place for reading. Great location, just a few minutes to restaurants and places of interest. Nice international breakfast. We are allowed to check out late because our flight is at 5pm, special thanks to marketing exec Phanith Sek and all the staff for a great stay here.
Review 127:Location, staff and price value.
Review 128:Pool very small
Review 129:Location Size of room Friendly/helpful staff Good service Nice food
Review 130:Nothing
Review 131:Quiet location but close enough to walk to the riverside bar/restaurant area. Good choice at breakfast.
Review 132:NO HOT WATER in shower! The picture of the pool on the website is deceiving. It's very small. Can't swim.
Review 133:Staff were very friendly.
Review 134:STREET IS NOT ASPHALTED
Review 135:BEST HOTEL STAFF EVER!
Review 136:Found a few little insect in bathroom.
Review 137:Warmly,friendly staff, goog location and facilities
