Reviews for Ca' Maddalena
Review 1:A little difficult to find but once found well worth it. We expected a hotel nd found a B&B.
Review 2:The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the room was perfect. We had a lovely view over the garden and up to the mountains.
Review 3:did not stay long enough!
Review 4:Everything exceeded out expectations , was more like a mini hotel rather than a B&B , could not find fault in anything .
Review 5:Small grievance but couldn't connect to wifi in our room
Review 6:Lovely location, beautiful room and wonderful swimming pool. Daniel was so helpful we want to adopt him! :)
Review 7:Pool facilities are open for public, and thus shared with practically half the town. Little room for privacy
Review 8:Staff was very friendly, breakfast good and abundant, property clean and organized. However, pool facilities are open for public, and thus shared with practically half the town.
Review 9:Beds was great , but There was not a ticker blankets ... Justcover sheet..
Review 10:Almost Everything!!!!...Actualy 99% was EXCRLENT!!! Just one small things ..thicker . blankets..!!!
Review 11:The Lady of the Manor seemed puzzled by our slightly higher than normal good humour.
Review 12:I loved the unusual African furbishings! The bed was very comfortable. Clean, clean, clean! Perfect maintenance of every and any part of the building and garden and pool. Generous breakfast choice!
Review 13:It was very difficult to get to. Very very poor choice of breakfast. Onour 2nd night there was loud banging and a lot of noise at 3.00am. Wouldsuit someone who would want to visit Africa.
Review 14:Wi-fi
Review 15:The bed was very firm, and there was no easy chair. The wi-fi was too weak to enable e-mail or internet access. No restaurant and the nearest was a drive of approx 1km, so drinking alcohol with the meal was a problem for a solo traveller.
Review 16:Room was acceptable but without an easy chair in which to relax. Proprietor and family were very pleasant and helpful. Very nice swimming pool if needed.
Review 17:Nothing. External people can also use the swimming pool which can make it crowded especially on a nice sunday afternoon, but owners will pay extra attention to people of the B&B to make it comfortable for you.
Review 18:We enjoyed everything, very quiet place druing the night, nice and special decoration, very original bed, correct size of room and everything is present, very friendly owners and staff, breakfast is nice and big ( a lot of fresh fruits ), nice garden with very comfortable seats at the swimming pool. They advise some very nice restaurants close by to have dinner.
Review 19:Having to share pool area with the local people (although I understand this is necessary to maintain costs). Lady at reception desk not very welcoming, but very friendly by the next morning. She may have been having a bad day.
Review 20:Located amongst vineyards. Beautiful pool area and bar. Friendly hosts who got more meat in from the butcher so that we could have a meal there. Spacious rooms. African theme very different for Italy! Loved it!!
Review 21:Gorgeous retreat where we were treated like one of the family and it provided a true opportunity to relax. We used it as a base to attend a gig at the castle in villafranca which was walking distance away.
Review 22:Little hard bed
Review 23:Beautiful house over all service was good
Review 24:staff, breakfast, location
Review 25:Excellent accommodation, beautiful surroundings, peaceful. Breakfast wonderful with fresh fruits. Very close to Verona as well as to Lake Garda.

Review 30:-Beuatiful garden, pool and terrace
Review 31:the location is great - close to gardaland and Verona and Sermione.
Review 32:Perfect place for relax and cruise around beautiful hills of Veneto! The pictures do not tell the real beauty of the place!
Review 33:Not walking distance to anywhere. But we had a car so could drive to restaurants etc.
Review 34:Staff were helpful and friendly. Facilities very clean and beautifully renovated. Pool area was lovely.
Review 35:I wished kind of simple rooms with lower beds. price was a bit higher for the region.
Review 36:It was good organized. breakfast was good. people were good. garden was very very pretty and very well maintained.
Review 37:It is further away from Verona than expected. No fridge in the room. Wifi signal was very weak.
Review 38:Kind employees, good breakfast, delicious coffee, good atmosphere, nice swimming pool and garden, good parking possibilities
Review 39:That I had to leave so soon!
Review 40:Serenity! Such a wonderful treat after the chaos and loudness of Rome. This wonderful retreat was one of my favorite places where I stayed during a two week business trip in Italy. I loved my room, spotless and very quiet. Excellent bed especially if you like a firm mattress. I was tired and did not want to go out for dinner and so after I asked the host Marco brought me a wonderful cold plate and a bottle of chilled local white wine and it was perfect. I will return.
Review 41:Wonderful "out of Africa" theme for house and garden which Ibelieve was inspired by the family's history. A lovely pool andpoolside area to relax in too. The family running the guesthouse werevery welcoming and helpful and made this a lovely stopover for us.
Review 42:Swimming pool was open to the public so very busy. We didn't use the pool as a result, but would have loved too as looked lovely.
Review 43:Very helpful staff. Very clean and luxurious accommodation. Breakfast fantastic with huge choice. Lovely countryside location.
Review 44:nothing suprised me, guests' comments on booking.com explained all details
Review 45:family atmosphere, very good breakfast, nothing suprised me, guests' comments on booking.com explained all details
Review 46:Owners sell tickets for their swimming pool to the guests from outside, so when we arrived, looking for relax after a long trip, we found the swimming pool and all the terrytory around the hotel full of people(
Review 47:Charming place, nice and helpful owners, very good breakfasts
Review 48:the fact that the pool area was open to the public and tended to get very busy and noisy.
Review 49:The decor, breakfasts, air conditioning, stunning location, comfortable rooms, helpful family.
Review 50:I didn't like the fact that it wasn't mentioned in advance thatthe pool is available to locals also - they pay a set fee to stay forthe day. In the week this was fine but at the weekend there were atleast 100 locals round the pool which meant it wasn't quite therelaxing break we thought we were going to have. It also meant queuingfor drinks and the toilet. It is a really lovely thing for locals to beable to do - come and enjoy at cheap price, but for me, I prefer apeaceful area to relax without pumping music and lots of loud chatter! That said, I loved my stay with my friend but I think had I gone for aromantic getaway with my husband I would have not been happy.
Review 51:The family who run the guesthouse are just so friendly and accommodating- nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sureyou are happy - even driving us to the station and to a restaurant at noextra charge. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool area isstunning. Location is gorgeous - in the middle of vineyards. A reallyfabulous property.
Review 52:We stayed there only one night, because it is close to the airport. We had to leave 3 am, and the owner left light breakfast for us, and turned coffemaker so we can have our morning coffee. The place is gorgeous, I wish the weather was better and we stayed longer:) It is very comfortable and pretty. Thank you so much for everything.
Review 53:Not easy to find, you need navigation to reach. Everything further positive.
Review 54:Prima kamer, goed ontbijt, allervriendelijkst. Very good, quiet, garden nice, delicious to sit in the serre/lobby to drink the local made wine.
Review 55:Excellent design! Wonderful for couples, children and anyone. Amazing outside garden , with pool and bar."Akouna Matata" style. Inside home is a warm atmosphere of an old well maintained country house. The breakfast was delicious.
Review 56:Ca' Maddalena is an excellent b&b, very friendly staff, spacious, great swimming pool with really nice places to relax in the decoratedgarden and 'open lounge'. The kids and I didn't want to leave thisbeautiful place.
Review 57:The room we had was too small and we barely had a room for 2 suitcases. The stuff doesn't speak English.
Review 58:The stuff was very helpfull. The garden and the pool are very nice.Breakfast is very good.
Review 59:We didn't realize that the B&B pool became a day use pool during the day. Huge crowds of people came every day, totally off-putting to any plans we had of using the pool. And not very kid-friendly.
Review 60:We would have liked to have been able to eat dinner in the restaurantthere. The family was however extremely helpful in helping us order inand have food delivered, or help reccomend and arrange otherrestaurants.
Review 61:We loved the atmosphere of Ca' Maddelena! The family that runs the Bedand Breakfast are very good and service minded people, and they delivera very high level of quality in all that they offer. The rooms andbathrooms are cosy, clean, well furnished, and have good airconditioning. It is a very peaceful place to be, and the atmospherearound the pool area is really something to be enjoyed! We particularilyenjoyed the ice cold Prosecco on tap :) Ca' Maddelena is very close toVerona, Lake Garda, and some of the best vinyards in Italy are veryclose by. We can definately reccomend Ca' Maddelena!
Review 62:Not much to change: Better English would be nice, but is not reallynecessary.
Review 63:The family atmosphere, the authentic feeling - documented in fruits atthe breakfast from the own garden, self sliced delicious ham, superclean and uncomplicated owners and landlords, It has this Lodge likeDesign with a garden which is stuffed with animal scultures, this is notonly for families with small kids magic but even for us business peoplerelaxing and special.
Review 64:Very helpful owners, although they could not speak fluent English triedtheir best to help us. Very nice situation in the country surrounded byvineyards and orchards.
Review 65:the garden and the pool were amazing! All african theme decoration made it special and different from what you would expect in a old countryside house.
Review 66:There was no welcome. An old lady complained that we were a family. Theycomplained because of the children. These people have the chance to beon the internet otherwise they won't get any customer. It is a pitybecause the place is nice but they are not friendly at all. They onlywant to see your credit card.
Review 67:The big room, beds, atmosphere.
Review 68:The check-in time was from 14:00 to 23:00. I've arrived at 15:00 and nobody was answering the bell and also the phone. We've tryied several times. We waited in the car for 30 minutes under a light rain and then we decided to go to Verona downtown, (20 km roughly far from this place). There's no elevators so you have carry yourself the luggage up to the stairs. It is not a place to spend the time with small "active" kids many trimmings can be broken. The lady was not warming at all and also when she was serving the breakfast the treatment was not good as was expected for this kind of place.
Review 69:I liked the place it is very quit with a nice swiming pool and a green area. The rooms were ok very clean and also there was anough space for the family. The breakfast was normal.
Review 70:There was nothing we did not like
Review 71:We loved staying here and the staff couldn't have been friendlier and helpful
Review 72:everything
Review 73:Very nice and friendly atmosphere there, and of course verybeautiful place
Review 74:Very stylish enterier, unique African style house, very clean and spacy rooms. Very pleasant owner's, all recomendation ! easy to find!
Review 75:Amazing African theme to everything...very ecclectic. Very near Verona airport but surprisingly not noisy. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 76:Very friendly and cosy hotel close to golf course with nice garden/swimming pool
Review 77:Too much noise from other rooms/hallway.
Review 78:Location.
The Fine Print
Please note that the swimming pool is open to the public.
