Reviews for Hotel Gran Palma- Paracas
Review 1:$100 room, should be a $50 room, it's more a $50/night kind of place. But it's cheaper than the $200/night places, clean with hot water etc. Breakfast is ok.
Review 2:Location was great. Twin room had a view of the water etc. 4th floor terrace with view. 3 minute cab to bus stop. Reception always staffed by friendly person. Moved us from interior double room with no view to a two twin bed room with a view for same price.
Review 3:The hotel was very small, wasn't clean enough i found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom and closet , bathroom had a funny smell and the shower tiles needed some cleaning and grouting.
Review 4:I like that was near the beach and have lots of local stores near by and near the boat rides. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 5:noisy street no working wifi at our level (it works well at the reception)
Review 6:The hotel is probably one of the better ones in Paracas. It is clean - the staff is very helpful and it is located "centrally". Problem is for sure the very noisy street. The city itself is a wreck but the surrounding national park is a blast. Ask at the reception for a private taxi tour through the park 2h before sunset - it was awesome
Review 7:Some of the rooms did not have air conditioning. The staff does not all speak great english but are helpful none the less. There are many travel agencies close by if you want to schedule day trips to Huacachina, Nazca, Ballestas Islands, or Paracas National Park!
Review 8:Good location - walking distance from the bus station. (If you're coming from Lima definitely use Cruz del Sur it was the best bus ride EVER). Also, there are plenty of travel agencies very close to the hotel. Highly recommend staying here! The place is new and it's a pretty reasonable price. One of the best hotels in the area if you don't want to spend a fortune at the DoubleTree (which is far from the pier!)
Review 9:Tiny rooms, no windows with any sort of view. Hotels in Paracas, in general, should do more to keep the city clean and free of stray dogs. There is very close to nothing to do in the city, only fun that is going on, is on the water, or in the national reserve.
Review 10:Paracas is so small it doesnt really matter where you stay in the city, you are always close to everything.
Review 11:Room was a little bit small. There was a lot of noise in the town but that was not a fault with the hotel.
Review 12:Good location, Good staff and good breakfast.
Review 13:I had booked a room with a sea view and terrace, but I got no terrace. Receptionist told me that I will get discount, but price will know in the morning. After a few minutes she gave me 20%. Unfortunately I noticed later that we had dirty beds, bathrooms etc.absolutely worst price/value ratio that I had in Peru.
Review 14:breakfast
Review 15:The bathroom was a bit small, but the shower was large.
Review 16:Very clean and modern hotel. The room was a good size with a lovely balcony we used in the evenings. Location couldn't be better, just a few minutes to the beach. Amazing breakfast with an incredible view of the ocean. Staff was helpful and let us store our bags during the day we left.
Review 17:There is no pool or area to sit outside at the hotel. Breakfast good but eggs cold. We booked a room with sea view but it wasn't a great view at all, and not worth the extra cost.
Review 18:Very clean, good breakfast.
Review 19:No glasses in rooms for drinking purposes. Noise from loose sheeting on front awning was disturbing during windy times
Review 20:Place is clean and staff efficient. Breakfast was great
Review 21:A group arrived at 2am the first night and were very loud for several hours but staff did nothing to stop this. The breakfast was cold the second morning
Review 22:Clean, handy location
Review 23:I had upgraded for balcony overlooking bay. However, I was told no such room was available. When I demanded my upgrade fee to be returned, there was suddenly a room available with a balcony. Also, the stairs were difficult.
Review 24:The morning staff person (when we were checking out) was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and breakfast area was wonderful.
Review 25:Note that the staff doesn't understand much english if you have a poor spanish. The pictures on the website were better than the actual room. Overall it was a great stay still.
Review 26:Good location, comfy beds and good free continental breakfast. I have stayed a total of two nights; one with a private balcony room and the second night in a regular double bed room since they were fully booked. Though, when I needed to switch room, I have been upgraded for the same balcony room but at the price of the regular double bed one. Let's say it was a nice surprise.
Review 27:We stayed over a weekend and had very loud music playing nearby that kept us up most of the night. The room wasn't soubd proof at all and the music went until about 2am.
Review 28:Was in a great location and comfortable.
Review 29:Overpriced for what it is; big bed occupies nearly all space in the room, you can hardly move; breakfast Ok; Wi-Fi didn't work; hairdryer at the reception only.
Review 30:Location - very central yet a bit away from main promenade's crowd; view from the breakfast terrasse. They store luggage during excursions.
Review 31:The price seemed very high for the quality. Ocean view is more like a market view with ocean in the distance. It is not on the ocean.
Review 32:Good nights rest and good wifi. Luggage storage included.
Review 33:Small room. A bit on the expensive side, given comparable nearby spots.
Review 34:Great central location. Beautiful rooftop for breakfast and a quiet afternoon. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Review 35:A highlight of the stay was watching the dolphins from the hotel roof, while having breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all it was a very pleasant stay for great great value.
Review 36:Water was cold for one shower and wifi went out once for several hours but otherwise very good
Review 37:Rooms were clean and tours were easy to book right at the hotel... Food was within walking distance
Review 38:Hotel bit expensive for what they really offer. No pool.
Review 39:Good location, very close to the prier and to restaurants. Nice terrace with a view for breakfast.
Review 40:No air conditioning and a lot of street noise. They have 2 Sea Veiw rooms with air con. Get one of those if you can. No place to set toiletries in the bathroom and little to no hot water.
Review 41:The views from the fourth floor deck.
Review 42:The head receptionist was grumpy and always went in discussion with the guests. The room became very hot during the day (no airco but with a ceiling fan). The balcony was lacking some chairs and a table, so no sitting and waching the sunset from up there. For a hotel is this price range they need to put the 'dots on the I'.
Review 43:location is perfect. The pool is very big and contains saltwater. There are 2 showers next to the pool. The breakfast is ok as is lunch/diner. The rooms are big with good bathroom facilities a nice balcony and a lovely view! The staff in the restaurant is very friendly.
Review 44:They have several Visa signs in the front lobby but did not take Visa and had difficulty making change when I paid in cash.
Review 45:The view, the proximity to the water and Islas Ballestas tour, very clean.
Review 46:The only (small) window overlooked a cement well. The air conditioning was provided by a floor van which we had to operate and took up space. The room was extremely small and very basic.
Review 47:New hotel, so things were clean and new. For the time being. Reception staff was nice and helpful.
Review 48:Very loud honking from the street outside. Receptionist couldn'tcare less that I reserved a balcony - gave me the room they had left.Roosters woke us up at 4am. Some black mold in the staircase
Review 49:Clean for the most part. Hot water. Very strong wi-fi throughoutproperty which is a rarity in tourist hotels in Peru.
Review 50:I think the hotel was overpriced, but I have found the same thing to be true with other bookings I have made through booking.com. Also, there is a whole lot of noise at night if your room faces the street.
Review 51:The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The upstairs terrace was lovely, too.
Review 52:Elizabeth at the front desk was very helpful and hospitable. The hotel has a good location and decent breakfast up on the terrace. The terrace has great view of the sea. The room was clean. Though the room was small but I was in there alone so sufficient for me being a single. All in all it was really value for money.
Review 53:Desk staff seemed disinterested or depressed (or maybe just tired), managed to screw up boat tour reservations, and not at all helpful with Wi-Fi questions. Hate to pick out an employee but it does effect the functioning of the hotel
Review 54:The location overlooking the ocean, the comfortable room with a small balcony, the excellent breakfast with energetic staff
Review 55:The place was very clean, the facilities were quite new. The staff were very friendly and informative. The place was very close to the beach and restaurants. They have wifi in their rooms and served a fairly good breakfast. A nice experience in general
Review 56:Beds were hard and not enough toilet paper. Also the beach front location made it very noisy with stray dogs barking all night and cars blowing their horns or playing loud music driving by at all hours.
Review 57:We really enjoyed our stay at gran Palma. Elizabeth that handles the front is a gem and works around the clock to make everyone comfortable. Breakfast was great with a big buffet and wifi in all rooms. Proximity to beach and restaurants was very nice.
Review 58:Breakfast not so rich and situated in an open terrace, good in summer but very cold windy and sometimes rainy during winter early mornings. Laundry service very expensive (more than double with respect other hotels).
Review 59:Very nice room with air conditioning, hot water and very nice private balcony. Good location, very close to the main street.
Review 60:Room was very small, as was the bathroom. The sink was practically an airline-size sink. The room was not that clean - we had to call to ask for the room, bathroom and shower to be swept up of the coarse, black hair and paint chips all over the place. No safe in room, but there was one at the front desk. Compared to other Peruvian hotel breakfasts (admittedly at more expensive hotels), the breakfast was quite simple.
Review 61:location was great. Breakfast outside on top floor, overlooking the harbor. The one, English-speaking woman at the front desk was nice.
Review 62:Breakfast with fewer offerings anywhere else .
Review 63:Pretty hotel nicely decorated. Small rooms but just enough space with closet to keep things out of the way. Nice view of ocean. Right near restaurants and store.
Review 64:Breakfast- was usually mostly Gone or cold Everything is white, so all the stains were visible and gross Small rooms Staff were just ok
Review 65:Location was good Hot water View from balcony and breakfast
Review 66:Small rooms.. we were stepping on each others' feet in the room.. We were 3 in the room and they always left linen for 2!
Review 67:Cute hotel, lovely staff and excellent location.
Review 68:location, cleanliness
Review 69:Ameno y cerca de la playa,
Review 70:The hotel is near the beach, attention is good. Breakfast very good. Sunny day. Super !
Review 71:Small rooms
Review 72:Price Breakfast Free WiFi
Review 73:Room is a bit small, but ok
Review 74:Nice place to stay, perfect breakfast, close to the beach
Review 75:We both enjoyed the little balcony view. Bathroom was very good, with hot water when needed. Coffee was excellent . room service
Review 76:Very noisy
Review 77:Rooftop views and breakfast on the rooftop. Great choice of food for breakfast.
Review 78:No breakfast before 7:15, trips to Nazca and other attractions are starting earlier
Review 79:Wifi was not good Simple rooms
Review 80:Location, Great view from the room
Review 81:Lovely self-serve breakfast on the roof patio. Great view of the sea and town. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of hot food.
Review 82:Bathroom super small! Room also very small
Review 83:Nice location for breakfast
Review 84:Breakfast location had a lovely view
Review 85:Nothing
Review 86:Breakfast terrace
Review 87:The lady at the front desk was knowledgeable and very helpful. The buffet was good and the ocean view was soothing and relaxing.
Review 88:Clean, hot water, and excellent breakfast consisting of lomo saltado, eggs, fruit salad, yougurt, different types of fresh juices, tea, and coffee.
Review 89:party going on most of the night - not sure where, staff said definitely not in hotel
Review 90:new decor
Review 91:Really late check-in
Review 92:staff is so helpful. location is good.
Review 93:The staff was excellent and very helpful!
Review 94:The city of Paracas has mosquitoes - bring bug spray
Review 95:Wonderful roof terrace for breakfast and to relax. Rooms clean and functional. Short stroll to the sea and restaurants.
Review 96:Noisy, not clean, uncomfortable rooms.
Review 97:Unfortunately, nothing.
Review 98:location cleanliness breakfast
Review 99:Good breakfast and view great from balcony . Rooms clean and comfortable.
Review 100:Great location near the ocean. Wonderful roofterrace where they serve a nice breakfast.
Review 101:The room was very clean and nice, but quite loud. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, there is no sound insulation.
Review 102:The external noise of people closing and opening doors and walking on the passage.
Review 103:Friendly staff
Review 104:Really nice room. Amazing breakfast on the roof. Really kind receptionist.
Review 105:Nothing.
Review 106:Great hotel and perfect location. Very good breakfast served on rooftop with views of ocean. Amazing!
Review 107:Too noisy
Review 108:Breakfast with a nice view
Review 109:colazione sul terrazzo
Review 110:small bathroom and breakfast simple
Review 111:clean and decent room, little bit small but with all the comforts you need as a traveller.
Review 112:View from breakfast terrace is excellent
Review 113:The roof top breakfast had a wonderful view. It was brilliant
Review 114:It's a really nice hotel and people there are very kind and helpful! I totally recomend!
Review 115:Way overpriced. There are hostels nearby for 1/3 the price and they are nicer/cleaner. We booked an ocean view room but it was tiny. Just a foot or so between the bed and the wall. I banged my head on the tiny wall-mounted TV at least twice. Room was reasonably clean but stairs dirty. Walls are bare and there are no chairs or table or desk. Bathroom had a small window high up and we could hear everything going on in the next room (phone conversations, nothing X-rated :-)). We complained about the price and ended up paying the same as a no-view no-AC room. Still overpriced but a little better.
Review 116:It's a block from the beach and restaurants. OK breakfast. Nice staff.
Review 117:It's at the end of the strip, but paracas is small and it's walkable from the bus station. It's loud in the morning on the street, but just suspect it's even worse closer!
Review 118:Great variety at breakfast buffet including fresh fruit and hot food that changed daily. Amazing shower!!!! Nice rooftop terrace and some rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean. Air conditioning and flat screen tvs with the most English channels so far in Peru!
Review 119:The only available room with ac was really noisy. Staff offered to change to a room with only fans that was quiet but no ac! We survived unite well though
Review 120:People, and the location
Review 121:Reception staff with one exception inexperienced. Rooms cramped with little storage space, bathroom almost impossible with no ventilation and our room came with pigeons nesting just outside. Our room face the street and it was noise, until 4 am on Sunday morning due to a party.
Review 122:Rooftop breakfast. The hotel is clean, located close to the bay beach and restaurants
Review 123:Only fan in the room, air circulation is not enough although there is window. My room is not clean enough, dust on the table, wardrobe and floor.
Review 124:Wifi is good. Breakfast is not bad. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
