Reviews for Hotel Cambodiana

Review 1:Old carpet, bad internet service, stain on bedspread, $30 of additional bed is not worth the price, sink ,toilet and tub look like from the 80s.To old need to be upgrade!

Review 2:front view of hotel only.

Review 3:Hotel is dirty. Have to change 3 rooms. I expect something clean in your so called 5 stars. I would ask to be reembourse as this is so embarrassing for me in front of my new girlfriend. Please send my money back or else

Review 4:The staff

Review 5:Staff. Cant even figure out the difference between credit and debit card. First time a hotel manager asked me whether I am the owner of the Visa card which I wanted to use it for settling the charges.... Pathetic. Good property but handled by mediocre staff.

Review 6:Big rooms

Review 7:Room was ok if a little dated. Carpets need renewing. Tv's were very old.

Review 8:Good clean and great helpful staff. Great facilities.. Fantastic views over the Mekong river

Review 9:The way to the pool was under construction so we have to go far and through restaurant where many people were dining..

Review 10:The staff are very friendly and informative

Review 11:1. Close to all capacities, good relaxing & night view from VIP Room 515 for business, personal private & lifestyle. 2. Professional & experienced staffs, nice & clean & better services for everything. You're simply the best! Regards, Huy Keat CEO Phanco (Cambodia) Co Ltd.

Review 12:Internet was terrible Staff lacked basic hospitality training and didn't understand how to look after customers Some staff could not even smile Got the feeling this is a real penny pinching operation

Review 13:Some staff were friendly Good swimming area Good location

Review 14:Hotel restaurant looked more like a huge reception hall - no ambience what so ever.... but food was okay WiFi - when logging into the hotels computer at the lounge area it needed my wifi details to login (so one trip to my room for that) - and no software / GUI support on logging out again - so that when I came back to my room to use the wifi on my mobile devices - I could not as I was already logged in (on the hotels computer). So one more trip to the lounge area to disconnect the wireless connection I had established - before it would work in my room again. Two easy solutions to that problem - either allow multiple logins on the same wifi access code - or have the hotels computers be online directly. If the hotel insists on the traceability of net activity by using personal wifi login - then create GUI to help remind people to log off - and support the log off

Review 15:Nice large room (had booked Mekong River room) Mekong lounge area - nice quiet breakfast, happy-hour, etc. Very firm (almost hard) bed Wi-fi throughout the hotel - gave a good nights sleep

Review 16:The hotel had a horrible smell on the 2nd floor. Smells like a wet dog. The hotel was also very loud. Didn't get a good nights rest. Big difference from when I stayed there 5 years ago.

Review 17:The breakfast was pretty good. Nice service thoughout the hotel.

Review 18:The staff in the qba weren't very nice on 2 occasions

Review 19:-food, bad ventillation, need renovation, lack of atmosphare. Good for big group for business trip but not for families

Review 20:Rooms were very dated

Review 21:Great location and pool overlooking the river.

Review 22:1. So noisy from the night club 2. Room Toilet not like 5* hotel, more like 3* hotel and below

Review 23:Spacious room

Review 24:None

Review 25:Staff members speak Englsh well. Night Bar featuring Phlilippines band was so good

Review 26:The view and the staff is very courteous

Review 27:If you want a $20 room for $100 this is the place to go.

Review 28:Rooms are very bland, coffee and breakfast very limited and not a very exciting location

Review 29:Not a lot

Review 30:Every thing

Review 31:Remove this hotel frome your list

Review 32:No free wifi as booking details and poor furniture

Review 33:Staff and location

Review 34:Room old , confort just ok

Review 35:Location

Review 36:goodgoodgood

Review 37:The renovation works

Review 38:Good location, peaceful

Review 39:Beat up furniture, ripped carpeting andpoor internet connections.

Review 40:Location + breakfast.

Review 41:It looks like a hotel in the 70's quite far from the new standards

Review 42:A prime location in Phnom Penh with a beautiful view on the river.

Review 43:sometimes ..staff sounded kinda stern and less polite in certain situation.

Review 44:possible to walk around nearby shops etc.

Review 45:pool too small for such a big hotel , all nigh the hotel phone kept ringing

Review 46:excellent breakfast, excellent location, excellent staff

Review 47:For the breakfast you should go early, otherwise ...

Review 48:The Lobby-Café was fine.

Review 49:The Gym was always 'crowded', had to wait...., but we did not have the luxury of times as we were on business trips

Review 50:The staffs were friendly, room was spacious.

Review 51:Wifi was horrible- i know they said they were having issues with it but the note that was left was from 3 months ago. If your paying that much per night then wifi isn't that hard to get right! Also there was loud music every night until midnight; kept us awake, once again very annoying for amount of money paid. There should be a free transport to the airport for everyone staying there.. the hotel charged us $20 USD for a half an hour drive which is just ridiculous in that country..

Review 52:The rooms were clean and bed and pillows very comfy!!

Review 53:Air conditioning loud A lot of the loungers needed replacing Generally a bit tired but considering the age of the hotel (1969) possibly to be expected

Review 54:Friendly and helpful staff

Review 55:The reception staff are poorly trained. When we arrived we were told wecould get a 50% discount if we joined the gym. We did this, but when wewent to check out we were told we were not eligible after all. They thenrefused to refund the fee for joining the gym. We felt ripped off. On aprevious stay, I had left a package with reception to be collected bymother. She did not collect it, and when I went to retrieve it, they had'lost' it. Everything else was fine.

Review 56:The bar is noisy, especailly if you live in the 2nd floor. Wi-fi connection is poor most of the time, and it's not easy to get connected again (need to input 6 digits username and 8 digits password)

Review 57:Very good and professional service. Good food. The river view is OK.

Review 58:This hotel has obviously oozed quality in the past, and this is still upheld, although the hotel is suffering from some shabby rooms, seriously in need of an update, especially the bathroom. The first room I was shown had a very scruffy and marked carpet, no excuse for that

Review 59:The staff, especially on reception and at the pool. The terrace which gives a fab view of the rivers. Lovely fluffy white towels, and well laundered table linen!

Review 60:Room was well appointed and the views stunning. Breakfast had an excellent variety of foods well presented and the staff were attentive and efficient. The live entertainment in the evening was also a bonus!

Review 61:at least the superior rooms should have a balcony or possibility to get some fresh Mekong air by opening at least a window. The bathrooms should have ventilation.

Review 62:the staff is very friendly and well trained. The location is very good (not amidst the crowded touristic center allthough near to it). The pool looks very nice with some elefants behind the Tonle Sap and Mekong confluent.

Review 63:When we arrived at the hotel the man at reception tried to scam us into a room double to price of the room I booked. We went up to the room, which was smelly and musty. Hotel in desperate need of renovation! Asked to be moved to a different room and was moved to a studio apartment on the ground floor. Two story apartment beds upstairs and lounge/bathroom downstairs. Smell was slightly better but still not good. The hallway from reception to studio apartment smells of urine. Food in bakery attached to hotel WAY, WAY overpriced! If we ever go back to Phnom Penh we will NOT stay here.

Review 64:The location a was good and room service was efficient. Breakfast Buffet was adequate. But I would expect more from a 4 star hotel. Happy with tours booked and car service. There is a tour desk but it seems that it is a rented kiosk situation as you can boom guide and car through concierge at a lower price for the same standard of service. Booked a tour through both services (travel desk and concierge).

Review 65:Sub standard maintenance in the rooms and floor foyers A Lobby Bar that was a smoke filled haze Tired fruit platters at b'fast and in the Lobby Bar

Review 66:The reception and concierge staff The view of the river The gym

Review 67:I did not loke my room and when I requested a change they demanded 23 dollars A nite more. When I endicated I was leaving they reluctantly gave me another room the first room had a bad smell of stale. Smoke and the second room was full of burnt marks in the carpet also they were installing. A lift next to our second room so we had drilling every morning it was a building sight my first sight was a wheelbarrow on my way to breakfast I also object to they securing 500dollers from my credit card when I arrived not a welcoming practice I have now secured a very nice hotel for the next six days never again will I go to Cambodia hotel

Review 68:Make sure if you book a pick up that you email them a couple of days before to re-confirm. They forgot my booking but it was ok as getting a taxi from airport is not an issue.

Review 69:Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was close to the convention center and also the river side where there is plenty of food outlets.

Review 70:Beds very poor - too soft could not sleep on them The hotel generallywas in desperate need of refurbishment - carpets etc. No free Internet! In a city where a local cafe has free Internet $15 a day was excessive

Review 71:Hotel staff were friendly and helpful

Review 72:The one souvenir gift shop in the lobby sells really pricey gold platedfigurines anywhere from $1000 and upward. Expect to

Review 73:-Friendly/helpful staff -Excellent services-ATM in the lobby, reservation desk carries small denomination of dollar bills so transportvia tuk tuk and tipping becomes convenient, at least the pool, gym andbreakfast are complementary -Room service was awesome and the kitchen isopen 24/7. The selections from the hotel menu were great -Didn'thave any issues with safety/security or note any obvious or subtlered flags -Location-the hotel is located along the main drag of thecapital city, Sisowath Quay. This puts the hotel wiithin close proximityto the main palace, independence monument, other monuments andlandmarks. Also, a landmark river flows behind the hotel and results inan awesome view

Review 74:1. They want to charge an extra $100 to your card as a deposit ($50 per person) against damage and the minibar.2. Someone entered our room when we were not there and took things from the minibar. 3. The two days we were booked in, the room was shaking with the noise of music and base. When we complained, they said their band was practising for an event so there was nothing we could do about it. We couldn't even hear the tv. They did this both days for 1-2 hours. We were on the 4th floor and the music was coming from the ground floor. Unbelievable.

Review 75:It was clean and the rooms were nice.

Review 76:wifi is very poor.

Review 77:staff

Review 78:Wi-fi is terrible. No balcony, the room was smoking and smelled of tobacco

Review 79:Location, breakfast

Review 80:Extremely disappointed - they charge a bomb for pathetic service and poor quality of rooms, wifi etc.

Review 81:Facilities, services and staff manner

Review 82:River view

Review 83:The staff were very polite but since I only speak English it was not always easy for me to understand

Review 84:Location and excellent breakfast buffet

Review 85:Very friendly and helpful staff!

Review 86:Riverview from the window.

Review 87:Very poor Wi-Fi link. Such a poor service is not acceptable to a hotel of this level.

Review 88:buffet breakfast a little limited, stayed in the unit on the ground floor, a little dark

Review 89:Good location, excellent gym

Review 90:internet connection too slow. no iron.

Review 91:the location,

Review 92:rooms r run down...

Review 93:view is great

Review 94:old carpets, no renovation

Review 95:Courteous staff, spacious rooms, location.

Review 96:The Hotel needs renovations, but it is fair

Review 97:Excellent Location

Review 98:~~no variance on the breakfast buffet. ~~ no free Wi Fi connection

Review 99:it's more peaceful, quiet and calm.

Review 100:there is no spa in the hotel

Review 101:location of hotel is very good.specially river view rooms
