Reviews for Akakura Sun Hotel

Review 1:The water in the bathroom attached to my room took a while (3-5 minutes) to heat up, but once it did it was nice and hot. The onsen downstairs makes for a much more pleasant shower.

Review 2:The room was large and comfortable. The heater was easily able to keep the place warm and I had a very comfortable stay. A two minute walk and one minute ski takes you to the Yodel Information Centre + lift ticket office. The location is awesome and the onsen is very convenient after a long day on the slopes.

Review 3:Bathroom smelt odd and the water pressure was poor. Also we could never find staff. So not much was explained.

Review 4:Great location! Really close to the slopes, (almost ski in out) and close to myoko snow sports for hire. Rooms were warm and clean with a nice view to the Alps. Staff are friendly

Review 5:The staff we're absolutely lovely and tried everything they could do to help us enjoy Myoko. We ate in a couple of nights and also breakfast. We asked for traditional Japaanese cuisine and that's exactly what we got. Food was amazing, The rooms were very spacious and super clean. There is nothing I can fault about Akakura Sun. Loved it.

Review 6:Leaving!

Review 7:A Lovely place, very short walk to Main Street of Akakura Onsen and shops, restaurants, etc. also effectively ski in ski out when the road was snowy (most days). The owners were delightful. They couldn't do enough for us, were thoughtful and very giving. The food (especially the dinners when we ate in) was excellent. The room we were in was spotless, and a lot larger than the average Japanese room, attached ensuite bathroom was handy, but there is a large onsen as well. Small balcony with chairs and a fridge increase the comfort of the room, and there is a nice small common area with sofa and table as well.

Review 8:To anyone considering Akakura this family run hotel is amazing. The room was amazing, the food was delicious an d the hospitality shown by our hosts was incredible. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was as enjoyable and personable as it could possibly be. Very highly recommended

Review 9:We loved our stay at the Akakura Sun Hotel. The location was amazing, 5 mins walk to the lift. We had the traditional Japanese room, and had plenty of room, even with 2 teenage kids. The room had its own toilet and bathroom which is a huge bonus as a lot of lodges have share facilities. The family that run the hotel are wonderful, extremely kind, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. We had breakfast included which is a choice of Japanese and western, and is really good. On our final night, we asked to eat in the lodge, and was served a beautiful Japanese meal, which I paid for at check out, and could not believe how cheap it was. The hotel also accepts credit card, another plus. Thanks for a great stay.

Review 10:The hotel was a little cold inside

Review 11:The staff were terrific, always willing to go out of their way to make you feel accommodated. The Japanese style rooms and onsen were great.

Review 12:Having the onsen in the hotel was key to our enjoyment. Nice and hot. The staff were extremely attentive to our needs. Breakfast was included either Japanese or western style and very tasty. I would recommend this place to friends.
