Reviews for Pizzomunno Vieste Palace Hotel
Review 1:When we arrived we asked about eating in the restaurant and the reception staff had to check as we were not half-board. The maître-di confirmed OK but not to wear shorts. We had to take the 40 euro set 4 course meal which made it expensive if you could only eat 2 or 3 courses. The food quality was not good and my wife's meagre portion of chicken was cool rather than piping hot. When the maître-di came and asked if everything was Ok she mentioned that her chicken was cool. He made no comment or apology and seemed to avoid contact with my wife for the rest of the week. Other staff were fine. It seemed that he gave his attention to his half-board clients and we therefore ate elsewhere other than breakfast for the rest of the week.
Review 2:The location close to the beach with a lovely view of the cliff-top town. Overall facilities very good
Review 3:Wifi was inaccessible or slow and unresponsive when in the rooms. About a 15-20 minute walk to the town.
Review 4:The hotel grounds are beautiful-- wonderful pool and great private beach area!
Review 5:The hotel was very quiet and the restaurant virtually without any customers
Review 6:A top quality hotel with excellent pool and access to the beach - worthy of its five stars.
Review 7:The fan in our bathroom was not working and breakfast was really basic. I have stayed at different 5 stars hotels and based on my experience Pizzomunno is more a 4 than a 5 stars hotel.
Review 8:Nice location and beach facilities. They offer free parking and Vieste town center is about 10/15 mins walking distance.
Review 9:The food was very disappointing, especially as such delicious, fresh, local food was available at any number of restaurants in Vieste itself (only 10 mins walk away): we ate out every night except the first one and one night when it tipped down with rain. Restaurant should perhaps consider fewer courses of better quality ingredients for dinner. Breakfast was also poor. eg There was little choice of fruit (despite the local market heaving with delicious fruits & veg) and most of the whole fruit was too unripe to eat: a fruit salad option also featured unripe, flavourless fruit and it ran out often. Big selection of sweet cakes, etc - again not particularly fresh/nice but a surprisingly small choice of cheeses/meats. Why use horrible plastic beakers for juice/water in a 5 star hotel? Minibar not checked/restocked over the period of our stay (8 nights) & sheets didn't seem to get changed. Glasses (plastic) in the room were evidently a premium as they weren't replaced once during our stay. Pity the beach bar only seemed to serve a 4 course lunch, so we had to walk down the beach to find somewhere to get a snack sized lunch. Discovered the pool bar on the last day, which did offer lighter lunches. Bathroom was pretty dated, with poor shower over a bath.
Review 10:The private sandy beach was lovely and very well maintained by the hotel staff. The pool area was also very good, with a choice of a large swimming pool and several smaller spa etc pools. Good pool bar. Very ample car park. Hotel was easy to find. The room was spacious, with a good balcony. Included a clothes drying rack, which we haven't come across before but was welcome.
Review 11:No
Review 12:We had excellent service our entire stay. The location of the hotel is perfect for beach goers and those wanting to explore Vieste!
Review 13:It was only a minor problem, but the hotel's wifi kept cancelling our connection, so we had to go through the cumbersome process of reconnecting.
Review 14:We read the reviews before we booked, but even so, we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel is in lovely gardens, and our room and balcony had a stunning view of the sea and the old town of Vieste.
Review 15:The decor of the room was somewhat outdated - 80s feel. Bathroom very small and not well designed. The patio furniture was cheap plastic when pictures showed oversized rattan chairs will pillows. The mattress was incredibly hard (but this is very typical all over Italy).
Review 16:The location, situated just in front of the sea with good restaurants nearby. The pool area was clean and beautiful. The staff was very curteous and helpful. The view from our balcony (room 304) included the sea, the pools and the mountains. The town of Vieste just one kilometer away. The cost was very reasonable for off-season period (2nd week-end in May). Ample parking free of charge and on the hotel property (which can be rare in some small towns in Italy).
Review 17:Lack of lights in hallway at night....perhaps they automatically go on in season.
Review 18:Privacy of location Staff and rooms very nice Breakfast good---only meal there Perfect weekend to be in Vieste as we were told it was St. Maria festival. Very special. C. at the desk also recommended good restaurant in town--everyone so helpful; especially for our very early morning departure. Thanks
Review 19:My wife and I are currently touring Italy by car and recently stayed in this delightful hotel. On arrival we were met at the door by Pino the General Manager. His warm smile and friendliness set the tone for a delightful stay. It is obvious to us all the staff at this hotel are customer focused and we wish to thank each and every one for making our stay enjoyable. The hotel is superbly located in its own grounds and enjoys its own private beach and swimming pool complex. Our room was a junior suite having double aspect balconies overlooking the beach, pool and down the coast. Food was excellent, well presented and served by Antonio who made each meal a small adventure. I am a retired director of a FTSE100 company, I have travelled around the world and stayed in some of the best hotels, this hotel compares favourably with them all. Thank you very much to all concerned. Peter M Richardson.
