Reviews for Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Rooland

Review 1:The bathroom is old and looked poorly. The tiles were cracked and glued together and didn't really looked clean. In the price was breakfast not included.

Review 2:It's near to bad Arcen.

Review 3:There was a middle-aged blonde woman who manned reception most of the time who was often very short with us. We asked if she would book us a taxi, to which she replied "no, you have a phone, you do it yourself", which surprised me because she works in customer service. She spoke rudely and had no patience with us, which is needed when two people don't speak the same language. This was a shame, because the other staff at the hotel (especially the guys who worked in the restaurant) were lovely.

Review 4:The appearance of the hotel was lovely. Very clean and warm, nice outside seating areas and the restaurant was great. The beds were very comfortable, and it was great having free Wifi that actually worked. The nearby village of Arcen (a 20 minute walk) is beautiful and worth a visit. The best thing about the hotel was the price - v good value for money.

Review 5:Rooms have no A/C. Hotel is located directly next to busy street. This combination may be ok during fall & winter months, but does not work during the summer when it's 30+ degrees and the window needs to be open to ventilate the room for sleeping purposes. The room got a bit cooler, but I was not be able to sleep due to the street noise.

Review 6:The staff at diner was really friendly & helpful.

Review 7:rooms were a little dated for a four star with dark furniture and old style tv in the rooms. no kettle in the rooms but we reserched this before we went so took our own, no english menus but the staff were helpfull, hotel was a little out of the way and need a car or bike to get anywhere, situated on a busy road so could be noisy, but all in all i would reccomend this hote.

Review 8:the resturant staff were very helpful, it had a great out outdoor area where you can enjoy a snack and a drink in the sun, beds were comfortable and clean

Review 9:No one at reception to check us in. We stood outside in the cold for 15mins. Room was very very poor. They need to upgrade this hotel desperately

Review 10:Not much - free wifi

Review 11:The remote control for the TV was not working well, it was also held together with some tape...

Review 12:Room was nice and quiet, my ake up call came right on the dot, very friendly staff.

Review 13:The European and hotel star rating have to review such a hotels whoclaim and labeled as 4 star ,but practically they are like 1 sratpansions , I never saw such a low quality hotel , old furniture and tvfrom 50 year back for 4 star and dull clours plus dirty , bathrooms arevery old fashion, seems they are using same since world war two. Myrecommendation even they offer free dont use , find some better foryour self..

Review 14:Location is okay and easy to find.

Review 15:Breakfast was expensive so I chose to not take it.

Review 16:The price was excellent, a late booking for the same evening. The bedroom was clean and comfy, especially at the price The evening meal in the restaurant was great - made better by helpful waiting staff

Review 17:Breakfast was not worth the money. Local Cafe would have been higher quality of food for amount of money.

Review 18:Not open for early checkout

Review 19:Quiet

Review 20:The staff were very kind and helpful, and the food was EXCELLENT

Review 21:No English menu

Review 22:Very peaceful area

Review 23:the beer was too expensive

Review 24:the room was large and cosy

Review 25:Bed, double one person bed is not very comfortable to sleep together.

Review 26:Good location, near Arcen thermaalbad. Quiet place, welcoming staff.

Review 27:Nice room and very quiet surroundings. Friendly staff.

Review 28:Food prices.

Review 29:Great hospitality

Review 30:Road to the parking poorly indicated. Place could do with a refurbishment. Breakfast at 16 euro is a bad deal.

Review 31:Spacious room, excellent Wifi

Review 32:flat roof just outside 1st floor window makes room somewhat dark

Review 33:very good breakfast ; very good dinner buffet

Review 34:Evertging is positive!

Review 35:Very nice clean room, great location.

Review 36:No tea or coffee facilities in rooms. Shower base very slippery. TV as old as the hills and with the habit of increasing volume unaided.Room lighting intimate/dim.Polyurethane ceiling tiles suggest the whole building needs an update.

Review 37:Food good if a little expensive, staff mostly helpful and friendly.

Review 38:We thought the hotel needs some modernisation. The furnishings in our room were a little 'tired', and the towels in our bathroom were frayed but clean. We have become accustomed to coffee and tea making facilities in our room so we can make tea or coffee as we like it. It would have been helpful for us if more hotel information was printed in English (or German).

Review 39:The hotel is conveniently situated near the German border and has good access to several important business and shopping destinations. For those who enjoy the countryside (walkers & cyclists)it is ideal. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant menu was very good and the food well prepared and presented. Our room was spacious and well furnished. There was a good standard of cleanliness throughout. Finally, the hotel is very good vlue for money.

Review 40:No kettle or tea making facilities in bedroom- missed making cuppa tea/coffee!

Review 41:Very peaceful woodland location. Tourist attractions near by. Very friendly helpful staff. Rooms were pleasant.

Review 42:The restaurant was quit expensive and the courses were too small.

Review 43:The breakfast was amazing, plenty of choise. Everything was nice but its not four star hotel...

Review 44:The free wifi wasn't as good as I had hoped because in my room it was always on and off but for one night I would not complain.

Review 45:When arriving at the hotel Myself and children were In need of dinner. The restaurant was open and accommodated excellently for my children and myself. It was also very delicious!!! The room was as expected and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked for a takeaway breakfast in the morning as I was leaving early and they gave me a fantastic bag to take away and opened the restaurant slightly early so I could get a coffee and a small breakfast even though I had a bagged breakfast to take away. I travel the route very often as I live in Germany but have family in England and I will definitely use this hotel again.but next time may bring the wife!!!

Review 46:Really old and outdated hotel. Room smelled dusty and gave a general mediocre impression. As we were in summer and placed in the attic a little more than a tiny noisy electric fan would have been nice to cool us off. The prices in the restaurant are outrages, big city markups in the middle of nowhere?! Overall horrible value for money.

Review 47:Bike rental

Review 48:We had rooms with windows on the road N271. Not really quite and relaxing to sleep. No conditioning and therefore it was very hot and unpleasant during daytime. Many areas are required to be renovated.

Review 49:Staff is very friendly. Good room prices. Walking distance to Arcen Spa. Free internet with good speed. Free parking. Good restaurant and reasonable breakfast.

Review 50:Some renovation is advised, in particular windows. Closed to road N271 so it may happen that it is noisy in the room if window is open

Review 51:Good budget 4-stars hotel, close to spa facilities, in the middle of forest with professional staff, reasonable restaurant

Review 52:rooms old fashioned television antique, and could not get any main dutch tv. location terrible its just like a truck stop. shortage of bar and restaurant staff,we had to wait long time before getting a menu?.

Review 53:friendly receptionist. food excellent, when it arrived.

Review 54:Fletcher Hotel Rooland would do themselves more justice if they did not describe themselves as 4 star. In reality is was on a par with a typical Premier Inn in England except the décor was relatively dated. The prices in the restaurant were excessive; double what you would pay in England and it was doubtful the quality would have been any better. Personally I chose to eat in a small café in Arcen itself which was perfectly adequate and about a third of the price. There was also no kettle/tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Surprising for a hotel described as 4 star.

Review 55:It was clean and friendly. Plentiful buffet breakfast included in the price. Reliable free internet connection

Review 56:For the price we had everything is OK but to keep 4 stars for the hotel some minor repair and renovation is necessary. Everything working but you can feel that hotel is not "young". It stays on the road N271 so rarely may be not so quite

Review 57:Budget countryside hotel with friendly staff, good restaurant, free parking, free and reliable WiFi internet. Close to famous Thermalbad Arcen.

Review 58:Door locking system with card caused a few problems. Reception was a bitinattentive at times....more concerned with their admin than assistingpaying guests. Restaurant a bit pricey.

Review 59:Ease of parking. WiFi. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and spacious.Close to thermal baths. Nice hotel overall.

Review 60:The extra charge for a cot. The breakfast was decent but notspectacular. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels which offer morefacilities and better value for money than this hotel.

Review 61:The convenient location

Review 62:Located on what has become a main road - lorries from 4:00 am onwardsscreeching to a halt at the nearby roundabout. The room was very darkwith inadequate lighting and the beds worn out and uncomfortable. Thehotel's policy of double booking in favour of tour operators (British). The hotel we spent a night in as a result of double booking was HotelBosrijk Roermond, also a 4* hotel in the Fletcher hotels group. Thishotel was superior in all aspects and we were surprised how different 2hotels in the same group could be especially when located in the samearea. Unfortunately they were fully booked for the rest of our stay!

Review 63:Location - convenient for Arcen and surrounding area - the real Holland- and local small brewery - Hertog Jan - producing a great range of 10different beers all served to perfection in the pub across the road inwalking distance of the hotel. Also superb castle gardens in Arcen (muchmuch more than a rose garden) and unique traditional Dutch pancake housein Arcen. Paying compensation for double booking and relocating us to ahotel 30 miles away.

Review 64:breakfast was disappointing

Review 65:close to castle gardens Arcen

Review 66:room was dusty and the shower mouldy, windowboard dirty, towels full with old cream

Review 67:breakfast price

Review 68:Located close to Weeze Airport. Good restaurant with excellent menu. Free parking is a great benefit.

Review 69:price of beers expensive

Review 70:staff great food very good price for B&B excellent

Review 71:The key system on the doors is annoying you have to try many times.

Review 72:The hotel is nice looking, with restaurant inside and staff is friendly.

Review 73:Decor was dated looking.

Review 74:Bed was VERY comfortable

Review 75:quite old hotel, with noisy doors (special the ones on the floor).

Review 76:Location--> near the thermalbad Breakfast, free parking

Review 77:Breakfast was very good.

Review 78:The very slow level of service in the restaurant.

Review 79:The food was of an excellent standard & beautifully presented.

Review 80:Space, comfort, good food.

Review 81:good location, but I would not rate it 4 stars hotel, maximum 3

Review 82:I had dinner at the restaurant, I ordered a biff steak, it was terrible, thought the breakfast was very good

Review 83:Friendly staff

Review 84:Nice staff, great food and lovely surrendings
