Review 1：The family who ran the hotel were delightful - helpful, kind and generous with their time. I also liked the tea and hot water machines on every floor and the tea making facilities in each room. This meant that a hot cuppa was always close at hand. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the doonas were very comfortable. There were extra futons and doonas in each room as well. The rooms were well heated as was the drying room. The onsen facilities were ample for the size of the hotel. We felt as though we had a Japanese experience staying at Hotel Senke. We were offered the choice of a western or Japanese breakfast. My husband and I chose the Japanese breakfast which was plentiful and changed each day. Our teenage children chose the western breakfast and the owner made every effort to accomodate their particular tastes..extra toast for one, no eggs for the other... For a 2 star hotel, I believe Hotel Senke offered a very good product and experience.

Review 3：Excellent Japanese style service and rooms. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful, thanks Miwa and Megumi and staff. The location is excellent with the town, restaurants and shops at your door and the ski lifts a five minute walk away. Great little town and people. enjoyed the japanese way of taking shoes off, using slippers (supplied - although a bit small for our bigger feet), the futon beds and tatami floored rooms, also the onsen style of bathing is a treat to relax sore muscles after snowboarding all day. the breakfast option was well worth taking as it is huge and would fill most for the day.
