Hôtel de France is less than a 10-minute walk from both the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and Port Hercules. It is entirely air-conditioned and has modern rooms equipped with a flat-screen TV.

Review 1：Extremely rude staff, tiny room which was unclean and housekeeper didn't clean up - only brought fresh towels. No elevator, paper thin walls can easily hear every word in next room (keeps you awake). Air conditioning and fan didn't work (disabled by hotel) so no fresh air if you want to avoid street noise - room gets very stuffy. I've never been treated so poorly by hotel staff in my life - very unprofessional hotel even for a budget place!

Review 3：The person at the front desk (Frank) was very short and was notinterested in offering assistance of any value. He appeared to getannoyed when clarifying questions were asked. I had to go to a differenthotel (where I did not stay) to get useful information. The other staffmembers were nice and helpful.

Review 9：It is an excellent hotel, i was surprised a small hotel could be that good. I had different impression of the room from the photo's on the website, but my room was clean, beautiful and had modern design. A big and comfortable bed, small, but very clean and satisfying bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the night porter, who was always at his spot smiling and helped me out several times.
Review 10：It is said that if we stay for 3 nights or more the reception will give free admission tickets to the museum or attraction in Monaco, but they didn't give us any, even though we stayed for 3 nights

Review 35：Didn't actually bother me, but note that the hotel has no elevator. The bathrooms are cramped. (You don't need to get off the toilet to wash your hands in the sink.) Thermostats locked at a bit warmer temperature than I like my hotel rooms.

Review 44：The location of this hotel is very convenient, 10 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk to the port. I had a lovely view of the sea and the room and hotel were very neat and clean and newly renovated. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 45：But when you find this hotel you will realize this is the worst hotel in Monaco. You won't know they are doing renovation and we can smell the new painting where you cannot breath. The rude staff will let you know you cannot return your money if you don't want to stay there.

Review 47：Have you ever wished to see the silhouette of your partner taking a dump from bed? Here is your chance. Who thinks opaque toilet doors that face the bed is a good idea? The younger gentleman would rather you stayed somewhere else. The walls are thin and you can hear every detail of the next room.

We thought the hotel offered excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again. Very friendly staff, especially the lovely lady who served our breakfast, who each morning gave me a pot of hot water so I could make my own special tea!
