Reviews for Miramar

Review 1:breakfast wasn't wort the extra money. no wifi at all during the 5 days stay, staff didn't know how to reboot and sort the password and access point.

Review 2:location and room is superb

Review 3:Advertised as wifi in room but no connection was possible in room and I was told this was normal across all rooms. As a solo traveler I got very bored! Breakfast was very basic building was very small and what little facilities it lacked where squeezed in tight.

Review 4:Location was right in the edge of the port with a lovely view from the balcony. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 5:WIFI password never worked and after several complains. Nobody actually did abyting about it. It felt a cheat on the promise of having internet.

Review 6:Location

Review 7:It is loud - noise from outside (noise insulation of windows not sufficiant) and inside. Very small room, entrance floor is bathroom at the same time (no separate bathroom). Renovation of floors and some walls of room needed. Bill not paid in the hotel - payment by credit card in advance, which is unusual.

Review 8:Conveniently situated. Room has a fridge and a safe (which is normal in this price category).

Review 9:Lots of noise from the street during the night despite the sound proof doors; a bit difficult to sleep at night as a result

Review 10:Excellent location - right on the marina, great view from balcony, close to the bus stops and major sights in Monaco; would be absolutely perfect during the F1 weekend I imagine; flexible checkout policy.

Review 11:Pillows were a little hard, it would have been nice to have a choice Free WI-FI was difficult to access

Review 12:Location was great easy walking distance to all the key attractions Staff were very friendly & the service was of a high standard Rooms well laid out and thoughtfully decorated & presented Great rooftop terrace with stunning views

Review 13:Managment, what is this? Before 8 no breakfast, checking out before 10. Is not strange that your restaurant stay empty. Not an hotel for bussiness people.

Review 14:Room was classed as a "suite" but think this was only due to the balcony. The room itself is what l would expect from any hotel.

Review 15:Great location right on the harbour with friendly & helpful staff. Rooms very comfortable & clean.

Review 16:Daniella greeted us and was very helpful in every way! She went outside and stopped traffic so my husband could park the car closer. She offered to carry luggage for us! When we checked out she helped us to understand exactly how to get to the sites that we wanted to visit. She offered to loan me her umbrella as it might rain. The location, for the price was excellent! The Hotel is dated, but our room was small clean and adequate! The price for Monaco was awesome!

Review 17:Room wasnt prepared, bed cover was broken, sink was broken, heating was not working, t.v with no signal, some staff not considerate, cheap furniture.

Review 18:Location and bed comfortable.

Review 19:Had to ask for a glass to drink from, organised parking months prior and not available when arriving in the rain driving around getting frustrated

Review 20:Location was great terrific view of million dollar yachts on harbour

Review 21:Breakfast very average for €12. Juice and toast not regularly restocked. Had to ask for more coffee.

Review 22:Location is excellent. Overlooking harbour. Try and get a balcony. Very impressed by early check in

Review 23:The hotel exterior and reception / dining area were tired looking. Went to the upstairs restaurant for lunch and the service was awful - rude disinterested staff - though food was ok. No glasses in the room for a drink.

Review 24:Breakfast was adequate though not properly set up. Clean and reasonable room - though the bathroom layout was 'different' and not really user friendly. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful.

Review 25:A little bit small room and no support for baggage delivery to the room.

Review 26:Located at just in front of MONACO port and good access to CASINO by walk. Have a nice cafe restaurant at top floor which is always crowded!!!!

Review 27:Some of the staff were very in helpful and totally unable to think for themselves. The hotel is tired, broken chairs, lights not working the whole place needs a good lick of paint and tidy up

Review 28:The location was wonderful

Review 29:Nothing. I would stay here again

Review 30:Excellent location with wonderful views of the harbor and the palace. The room was a pleasant surprise and modernly finished, clean with all the necessities. Casino was also a short walk from the hotel. There is a really cool rooftop bar/restaurant with beautiful views

Review 31:Parking was a bit of a faff.

Review 32:Doesn't look much from the outside but room was very comfortable, clean, modern and nicely designed - with a balcony overlooking the harbour. Couldn't have asked for more.

Review 33:No lift, difficult staircase Bathroom was new but had nowhere to hang a towel, no soapdish in shower.

Review 34:Location was good overlooking the port. Roof garden bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere

Review 35:Breakfast was very poor and the lack of a lift made it difficult to get luggage up and down.

Review 36:Great room with balcony overlooking Monaco's main marina

Review 37:Hotel rang whilst just boarding plane to say they were releasing room because they could not take payment? Not what you want to deal with. Or be wondering if the room you booked months ago would be available on arrival. Having booked over £5k of rooms with booking.com this year alone same card never experienced this before wish we had not bothered staying there now! It is not a short walk from the airport. One member of staff. Bar closed no food after 10.30 just a few odd items in a cabinet available. WiFi poor rooms very small had to sit in lounge til ready for bed. Expensive for no facilities especially at an airport hotel. No would not stay again. Breakfast was plugged but declined we got our breakfast elsewhere. Only plus point of the staff member trying to make up for his rudeness on phone was he told us train times but then said no taxi would take us... funny how we got a taxi in the morning with no probs oh yes it's next to building site so expect noise!! :(

Review 38:Quick airport shuttle bus Only spending 10 hours there... most of that asleep until the workmen began drilling outside!

Review 39:For visiting Monaco is one of the best localities. Parking in a near garage, safe and value for the money (10€/day). The room was very nice and modern. The balcony with a view of the port and part of the city is really worth it.

Review 40:Sz if room with two full sz luggage pieces was a challenge .

Review 41:Considering this is monaco it was excellent value for the money . Comparatively the restaurant prices were fair and very delicious . Our terrace gave us a really sense of yacht life. It was great to sit on our balcony and watch the luxury of life go by. Very close walk to the casino . While being a 3 star hotel they strive to offer 5 star service

Review 42:Bathroom ,specially shower ,had used toothbrush and shaving cream on the floor, only bathtowls,no hairdryer and the fridge didn't work. Took payment 7 days before arrival agreement was to pay during stay.

Review 43:The location is great.

Review 44:The hotel is wonderfully located and offers a fantastic view overlooking the port. The room was spacious with a fridge and balcony. I would highly recommend the hotel for all travellers staying in Monaco. The restaurant next to the hotel also offered good value for money.

Review 45:Parking was easy to find with the map from reception but parking in front of hotel was very limited and we had to park in a no parking zone to unload the car

Review 46:Tiny room, even smaller toilet/shower. Paper thin walls between rooms, can hear adjoining rooms using shower/toilet etc. Very noisy

Review 47:Good location

Review 48:Quite loud, road outside but also thin walls. Cheap for Monaco but not cheap in the scheme of things, would not like to stat more than one night if I was I would book out of town then get a taxi in. Tv did not work.

Review 49:Clean with a great view and location from car park.

Review 50:I have nothing negative about this hotel at all!!!

Review 51:Miramar, you have impressed us so much!!! Don't be fooled by the 3star rating!! This hotel was absolutely amazing. Facilities werefantastic, the view from our room of Port Hercule was incredible, staff were extremely helpful and friendly, location was perfect (closeto night life/casino/beach). Highly recommend this hotel forthose not looking to spend a fortune in mc but also get fantasticvalue for money!!

Review 52:- parking in Monaco is a pain - hotel does not have on site parking (like many others) so the only options is to drive across the city searching for the space in public underground parkings. The closest one we found was at the Casino.

Review 53:- friendly staff - fantastic location with a balcony facing the harbor and yachts are just across the road. - perfect location for sightseeing and city discovery. - bar\restaurant on the roof with a stunning view - other bars and restaurants are just in 20 mins walk distance.

Review 54:Quite small room, but it was okey. I guess the view made up for it. (I'm now thinking about price) Bathroom was nice, but no hooks or holders for toilet paper or towels. Three tiny bottles of soap, made it a bit clumsy to wash your hands. We ate at the hotel resturant in the evening and ordered beef. The beef was good with mashed potatos and pepper sauce, but no vegetables! Made it a bit boring and dissapointing. The breakfeast was okey, but there could have been more spreading to choose from, there were only cheese and ham and some jam. But they had eggs, bacon and toast if you asked for it so that was a plus! No elevator, but the staff was kind and helped carrying the luggage. My boyfriend complained about his side of the bed being much harder than mine, but I never tried his side so I can't guarantee hard beds. My side was okey.

Review 55:Nice view over the harbour and all the yachts, with private balcony. You could also see the prince palace. Fridge in the room, and blinds that made the room completley dark at night. We came early and the room was ready for us. Nice staff.

Review 56:Nothing - would definitely stay there again....

Review 57:Room overlooking the harbour with a small balcony, great for watching the world go by. Room very clean and laid out. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is on a busy road so some noise to be expected but this shouldn't put any one off from staying here. Didn't try the breakfast or restaurant so cannot comment on these areas.

Review 58:It was a bit noisy at night because people passed in front of the room to go to the terrace.

Review 59:The location was good, in front of the port and you can walk fron there to the best places in monaco. The room was cool and comfortable. The food in the hotel restaurant was good but a bir pricey.

Review 60:Service in the upstairs bar and restaurant was not as good or friendly as in the downstairs restaurant, but the food was excellent.

Review 61:Service was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was smaller than expected which made it far more comfortable and intimate.

Review 62:We didn' t like the dirts (you know what I mean) - left by the others before check out- on the toilet seat

Review 63:Τhe location was perfect 3' walk to Monte Carlo, excellent view at the marina and the Palace, very friendly and helpful staff, and also the discount they offered us at a private parking.

Review 64:The entrance was a little grotty. Service in the roof top bar was slow and a little careless.

Review 65:Very cleverly designed spaces. The location overlooking the harbour was superb. The top floor rooms have balconies - ask for one as that extra space makes all the difference. Showers were powerful and good quality. The room had a very nice feel to it, with plenty of storage space. Very good value for money considering location.

Review 66:Room, shower and toilet were very small and there wasn't anywhere to hang a towel for instant. Breakfast also small. Hotels are expensive in Monaco and Miramar was certainly no exception.

Review 67:Because Monaco is so steep, you have to know tunnels and elevators to get from the railway station to the hotel but if you do it is close and convenient. View out over the harbour and the super yachts.

Review 68:Other than the restaurant/bar there are no facilities to speak of but when you're right in the centre of Monaco by the port I'm not sure what you actually need.

Review 69:Coming for a race weekend (Formula E) it's hard to imagine a better location. I watched the race from the balcony, just one floor up directly overlooking the track and marina. Clean comfortable simple room, great staff.

Review 70:The room was rather small, there is no elevator and the room had a small water problem.

Review 71:Location is reall good, as is the price compared to its location The staff, simple incredible! Wonderful people!

Review 72:Air conditioning not working. It was too hot in the room. 25 degrees Celsius and you can't open the window because of the noise from the street and all the fumes from the cars are going in to the room.

Review 73:No tea or coffee facilities. Staff noise in the corrridor very late at night.

Review 74:Location! The hotel literally fronts the harbour & the racetrack. Perfect for fans of both, but be warned that at this time of year - pre GP - the streets are a disaster to negotiate and finding & entering the hotel something of a nightmare. Also, the noise from the street is very loud if you like to open your window. The bathroom defines 'compact' but is perfectly functional & the shower good. The upstairs restaurant is excellent, well priced and has a fabulous view.

Review 75:Tiny room with a very noisy restaurant above us. Chairs could be heard dragging across the floor above till 10:45 at night. Not the cleanest place I have been in either. Location was good.

Review 76:Rooms are tiny, shower and toilet are literally in the corridor, tight even for one person in the room.. breakfast is very moderate.. too noisy, no black out blinds, poor toiletries..

Review 77:Location just in port Hercule, wifi ok, rooms nice after renovation, balcony overlooking the port

Review 78:Very noisy, windows did not keep out noise from the road. Staff slow and not very efficient No lift so had to carry heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs Breakfast poor and very limited variety No water in fridge and no tea and coffee making facilities

Review 79:Cleanliness of the room, spotless Good location, nice view Comfortable bed Lovely, hot shower

Review 80:the room is a little too small so we have to book a second room for a 15 year old.

Review 81:location (all rooms have a harber view), reasonablely priced (in Monaco standard), friendly staff.

Review 82:Expected it to be expensive but overpriced for below average restaurant.

Review 83:Excellent location, very friendly and welcoming staff both at reception and at breakfast. Good price for the location.

Review 84:Tight space around bed

Review 85:Location, location. To be staying right by the port side at monaco is amazing and we were fortunate to get a balcony as not all rooms have them. To have a fridge rather than a mini bar was a bonus too. . Room is quite small and tricky to get round right side of bed next to window but not too much of a problem to cause concern given the location.

Review 86:Thin walls. Could hear everything. No elevator. Nothing. And no one to help you with the luggage. The air conditioner was not working and the reception lady could not solve it for the 2 nights we were there.

Review 87:The city is really small so we did everything on foot. And there's a local fair really close to the hotel so that was great.

Review 88:Difficult to find the entrance door of the hotel once it is together with the restaurant entrance. To use the free wifi, you have to get an username and password and you have to wait a little bit in the phone to get it. A little bit to expensive for what it is but is Monaco...

Review 89:Good and comfortable bedroom even if it is a little bit small. The shower was incredibly good. The hotel has a good location and the staff really helpful, specially the African hostess. Easy to get in from the train station, just follow the signs heading to the Hercule Port.

Review 90:Can be a bit noisy, heard a couple of fights on the boats. No tea making facilities in the room. Only 4 english channels all about the news.

Review 91:Port side hotel. Was given a port view, asked for a balcony and was moved immediately. Friendly, helpful staff. Good size room, confy bed, great balcony. Close to train station.

Review 92:Room and especially toilet/bathroom are quite small. Wifi is the way too slow. No English TV channels (there are some, but TV says "extra" and don't show them). No minibar, no tea kettle or coffee machine. Water pressure is a bit small in the shower. In total a bit too expensive for services offered.

Review 93:Great location right next to marina. Clean cozy room. Helpful staff.

Review 94:I originally booked my trip for three days, but informed the hotel at check in that I would only be able to stay for one night because of a family emergency. The hotel made me pay for two full days even though I spent approximately 10 hours in it. I won't be going back.

Review 95:Until about midnight noise from the restaurant on the top floor. Close to the street so rather loud, but no problem when using ear plugs.

Review 96:Location is really great. Parking in a nearby garage is discounted.

Review 97:Small room and basic facilities.

Review 98:Friendly Staff and great Location on the Marina. Ideal if you don't want to spend much time in hotel. Lovely views if you want a drink on the terrace.

Review 99:The two single beds were seriously "single" very narrow and the duvet just as narrow. No coffee facility in room.

Review 100:The location, could'nt ask for a better view.

Review 101:The price is high for a room so small the toilet is in a closet. Thin walls, so can be a bit noisy, depending on your neighbours

Review 102:Small rooms, but the view is nice and the location great. Helpfull staff, but - like everything in Monaco - overpriced. Still, within this city it's probably a good deal

Review 103:a little expensive, but probably justified by the location and view

Review 104:location - right on port side balcony on 1st floor - great view of the yacht show from our balcony restaurant room - small but well designed and very clean

Review 105:Did not like been kept awake at night with restaurant above and people in hall going to drinks from downstairs to upstairs restaurant.

Review 106:Like its location. Food was reasonable

Review 107:nothing... all good

Review 108:really good location, although located between 2 streets no problem with noise as sound proofing in rooms Restaurant excellent, food very good and of course being roof top... views across the marina

Review 109:Good location offering a view of the many private exclusive yachts along the port with easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping. Nearby public parking was convenient and of value. The room was a little small however compensated with the convenient and modern design.

Review 110:The site is noisy, but it is something we were previously aware, we could sleep with the AC on. No elevators is hard for someone travelling with big luggages. The reception guys were friendly at the check in, but at the check out time the girl did not allow my wife a permission to use the toilet, something amazing and that we never faced in any place!! That atitude destroyed our rememberings from our stay there.

Review 111:The hotel is sited in front of Monaco port, and the room has a balcony to stay with that view. it is in front of the F1 circuit famous chicane, and in the top floor restaurant we stay side the circuit hill up road. Car parking is at a walk distance, something rare in Monaco. Rooms are small but well planned.

Review 112:Awkward to find where to park without blocking the road and dropping offthe luggage. However- the parking was great. 10 Euros per night -alongside Ferraris, Aston Martins, Porsches....! Wc compartment in roomwas small.

Review 113:Hotel is right on the harbour overlooking how the other half lives! Roomwas small but excellent. Air-conditioning perfect. Staff were reallyhelpful. Food excellent. All quite pricey but worth it. Eating dinner onterrace, overlooking the harbour and the Grand Prix circuit! Wow!

Review 114:Windows had sound-proofing but could still hear the louder cars. Room small - but efficient.

Review 115:Hotel offered a great view of the port across the street. Rooms quite small but efficient - reminded me of a cruise ship room. Upper restaurant offered great food at a reasonable price. Views from the top were beautiful as well as the people watching. This hotel was a third to a quarter of the other hotels in the area. So if you don't mind a smaller room and a bit of road noise - this is a great option to the others!

Review 116:Very close to the street with motorcycles speeding down the street being very loud. Not good for small children. No elevator. Wifi needed a new password everyday.

Review 117:Great location! Great restaurant. Good value for the price.

Review 118:Having to get a new wifi code every 24 hours.

Review 119:Great location. Great staff. Refurbishment was well done. This was the second time we've stayed here and would stay again.

Review 120:I emailed for post code or directions to parking and was told to go to hotel first. Arrived (having driven for 7 hours so already very tired) and couldn't pull up outside. Left car a while away and had to run up to hotel. Was given a misleading hand drawn map which, from the drawing, suggested the car park was around a roundabout at the end of the tunnel! In fact there is another car park there which had nothing to do with the hotel! In all it took us an hour and a half driving in circles (traffic) round monaco in order to find the parking! For reference it is in the tunnel and you will see a neon sign for it telling you number of spaces! Go up the slip road here and don't try to follow the map which suggests it's at the end of the road! You will get caught in traffic and keep having to drive round the loop if you do! If they just said go to the tunnel and look for the sign it would have been much less stressful...but then maybe I should be a better map reader!

Review 121:Great location, room was excellent value for money given the location and other prices we had compared! Lovely views from room and even better from the terrace restaurant! Nice cocktails. Reasonable food but tapas seemed a little overpriced considering I was expecting a huge portion as per other reviews and it wasn't! Hotel and downstairs restaurant staff excellent, I agree with other reviewers that upstairs staff a little surly but would definitely stay again!

Review 122:Price - But hey, it's a prime location

Review 123:Staff Attentiveness VIEW LOCATION Half Price Public Parking Decent mid-range rooftop restaurant with GREAT VIEW

Review 124:The room was a bit small for the price and there was a musty smell in the room. I had to go to the grocery store and buy a room deoderizer. It helped, but the smell kept coming back.

Review 125:The location was excellent - not far from anything, including the bus stop. Easy access in and out of the hotel. Small, boutique style hotel. The automated shutters were perfect for keeping street noise and early morning sun out.

Review 126:Nothing to do with the Miramar but the noise of the motor bikes at all hours can interrupt sleep.

Review 127:The Port location was great. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Review 128:One staff member in terrace restaurant was extremely rude and service was poor

Review 129:Clean and comfortable room Balcony room with excellent view Reception staff very helpful

Review 130:Nothing - everything was great.

Review 131:Perfect location right opposite the port to watch the super yachts coming & going. Short walk to all the other attractions Monte Carlo has to offer.

Review 132:It was a little bit noisy at night initially.....but that was to be expected in such a prime location. Everything calmed down by around midnight.Take some earplugs if you're sensitive to traffic noise.

Review 133:Everything was perfect in this short 2 night break. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room had a balcony (request one when booking). The view of the port was incredible. A fabulous place to people-watch!

Review 134:The menu on the terrace was unappealing and 58 euros because of the fireworks .

Review 135:Great views over harbour , and as it was a night with a spectacular fireworks display , we couldn't have been happier . The bedrooms were lovely too .

Review 136:Breakfast was a let down with staff too laid back. No choice of cereals and poor breakfast selection.

Review 137:View from room. Very professional receptionist. Proximity to railway station and buses.

Review 138:nothing

Review 139:perfect location, friendly staffs and wonderful fireworks show in the balcony on 19 July. Everything is perfect. Good memory we will never forget !

Review 140:loud music till 1am. Would have been good if we were advised the music was going off at 1am. We were a little worried when it didn't stop at midnight and knowing in advance it would stop at 1am would have helped. Wouldn't bother with poor breakfast again despite great view.

Review 141:Location, service, good cheap central parking, room decor and cleanliness, good shower, bed comfortable.
