Reviews for Akakura Hotel
Review 1:No WIFI in the room so had to go down to the cold lobby for internet, the heating system makes a loud banging noise when it gets turned on at ~6am interrupting your sleep while on holiday, It's a 30min+ bus ride to Suginohara
Review 2:Walking distance to Akakura Onsen, range of choice when it comes to Onsens, Helpful english speaking staff (australian), Clean.
Review 3:wifi only in lobby area
Review 4:proximity to mountains / gondola and restaurants
Review 5:The resort is a short walk to the first lifts and is located close to the shops.
Review 6:Wi-Fi was only available in the hotel foyer
Review 7:The availability of onsens was very impressive
Review 8:The heatingsystem was old, some noise during the night and sometimes varm and sometimes cold.
Review 9:It'd be great if there were more family-friendly onsen where youdidn't need to bathe in the nude with everyone else! There'sonly one international atm in the ski-town.
Review 10:Very well located for Akakura Onsen skifield (Myoko-Kogen has threeskifields). The entry/main skilift is just in front of the hotel. The hotel emailed us a few days before arrival to organize pickup fromthe Myoko Kogen train station (only 10 minutes away). Rates are fixedyear round and depend on number of persons (6300 per adult, 70% of adultprice for children) and includes breakfast. For the room we got, thiswas extremely reasonable. After skiing each day, we used the free onsenon site to relax and soothe our aching muscles, ala the Japanese. Of thenumerous onsen, only one is not gender-segregated (because generally,Japanese bathe in the nude in onsen). The staff speak basic English andbend over backwards to help you with all requests. If you want anauthentic Japanese skiing experience, Myoko and this hotel are verysuitable, but it's not Niseko (which a fellow traveller described asThredbo with more snow) - you will find only a handful of Aussies in thehotel. There's a good selection of excellent and cheap Japaneserestaurants 3 minutes walk from the front entrance.
Review 11:Room is comfort, breakfast is very good, location is excellent, verynear to sky area. The best is hot spring, in-door and out-door. Myoko isreally wonderland, pure snow in untouched natural surroundings. Smalltown with every thing you need but not seas of tourists. Staying atAkakura in Myoko is an unforgettable journey in my life...
Review 12:Our stay at the Akakura Hotel was amazing. A few days before arrival, we received a personal email offering to pick us up from the train station upon arrival. This was just the start of the amazing service that was to come. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are so cool. Tatami floors but western comfy beds. Awesome. Just a car park away from the ski chair lift. Such a spacious hotel. Fancy and delicious breakfast. But really there is not enough room to express how amazing the staff are. We were chauffeured around to stations and to ski hire. The staff would drop everything and attend to our every little request. Their English was good and they would not only recommend local restaurants but would call to check they were open. The price was so reasonable that we, 4 uni students from Sydney felt we had hit the jackpot. Please go, you'll love it. This hotel is the epitome of everything that is beautiful about Japan.
Review 13:Great hot spring!! Good dinner!!
