Reviews for Hotel Italia

Review 1:Polite staff, old style of the building and the atmosphere, rich breakfast including some Italian specialties, view to the see, well maintain garden, car parking. We wish to stop there in the summer.

Review 2:We visited Massa as a close family member was seriously unwell in hospital in the town and had not planned this holiday until then. We were delighted with the hotel and its position on the seafront. The hotel has a very special ambience and we particularly liked the traditional Italian features of the hotel and we will certainly stay there again. The staff were fantastic - very attentive and kind and went out of their way to look after us. The breakfasts were excellent. We also went cycling on one day and used hotel bikes which were like new.

Review 3:The owner is the most wonderful man! He gives a truly authentic Italian experience, very excellent host and so sweet! The roof top terrace is wonderful with excellent views, great place to relax and enjoy a glass of champagne in the sun! Ps if you want to go to cinque terre from here having a car is very convenient and the drive through the cliffs is breathtaking!

Review 4:The breakfast is a little poor, definitely the most disappointing side of the stay.

Review 5:Very good location, just across the street from the beach. Unfortunately this means to hear the noise from the street and from the sea (which can be quite noisy I found!)

Review 6:We liked everything.

Review 7:The family atmosphere! We felt we were guests of our Italian cousins (even we do not any) :) Location is very good, just cross the road and go to the beach and very close to the Marina di Massa central cafes and restaurants. The building is an old one and this is its charm. Big windows, nice view. Free parking. Nice breakfast. Marina di Massa is a good point if you want to visit for one day Florence, Pisa

Review 8:Fridge in room did not work , shower was very poor and hot water interminent.Hotel was very old and beautiful but needs some modern updating.

Review 9:Staff member Fabiana was excellent, always extremely helpful and friendly. Free bikes were fantastic

Review 10:-building is a bit old, need some renovation; -no elevator in the hotel, but that was comppensated by help of friendly hotel staff ;-)

Review 11:-Building of Hotel is really historical and nice! -also the staff of hotel was extremly friendly and spoke several languages - special thanks to Fabiona, who helped us with choice of quite room and made several suggestions for points of interest in Massa.

Review 12:The room was simple but had the 'old charm' created through the century it has been open. We had fantastic views of beach and back to the mountains. The breakfast was lovely and the family could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They spoke enough English to get us by. The bikes were a good thing too. They organized a tour for us to see the Carrara Marble Mines and Carrera town which was worth the visit! When we arrived at Massa the bus was at the train station and took us down to Massa di Marina and their was a 3 minute walk - need to purchase bus tickets at a Tabbachi Store.

Review 13:Shower water was cold until the hotel owner showed me the method to use when turning on the taps - after this it was fine.

Review 14:Seafront location Great views and access to walk along the seafront and Massa just 50mtrs Traditional character and charm Bed linen was super clean and crisp :) Room and bathroom was very clean Very helpful, happy, smiling staff :)

Review 15:Nothing.

Review 16:In short, everything. A fascinating building with gorgeous Art Nouveau decor features. Lovely view out over the sea. Very friendly owner and staff who are rightly proud of their hotel and who were more than willing to offer advice and tips for travellers to the area. When we were a day too late arriving that was also no problem. We had a great stay and would certainly go back again if we were in the area.

Review 17:Very helpfull staff, good view to the sea and mountains, good location, breakfast, supper, diner were fantastic!!! The owner gave us a present when we leave. I am strongly recomend this hotel!!!

Review 18:Only one: noisy street, especially at the weekend (the end of June is really starting a high season, it is my dream now to visit this hotel in September-October:)

Review 19:The building with history, it was private villa before, the hotel since 1913, old fashioned style, local marble everywhere. Great views from terrace and platform roof. I am totally agree with this review and thanks reviewer for that: "You can feel it's definitely not new, and there are some things that should be fixed, but you can breath history and the taste of the old-style beach life in Tuscany. Staff is really kind, friendly and helpful. Don't expect luxury rooms, stilish furniture and so on: it's a good old place (and I liked it exactly for this) :-)" The free bikes. Excellent location. Wi-Fi good enough. Good cuisine. We had half board (breakfast & dinner) and it was not easy to get hungry:) Fortunately we could swim a lot:)
