Reviews for La Damiana Inn
Review 1:no criticism
Review 2:kindness & availability of owners; location close both to center of Loreto, its mission and Malecon; architecture, garden and interior decoration of the Inn; absence of street noise
Review 3:Charming, very clean room and setting. Great location near plaza and ocean. A small Inn of 7 or 8 rooms create a family atmosphere, especially in the courtyard area. The owners/hosts were fabulous, extremely helpful and are now our friends! Looking forward to more visits and have recommended highly to our friends.
Review 4:Deborah and her husband are absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming and inclusive introducing me to others staying there. Gave me ideas of beautiful places to visit and deals on adventures with their friends. If only I had more time there! La Damiana is a gorgeous, open/airy, and relaxing place to stay. I highly recommend it!!
Review 5:The hospitality of Debora and Gerardo; they're enthusiastic, passionate and make you feel like part of the family. The posada is perfect, comfortable and clean. Fast wi-fi.
Review 6:Unfortunately there was an issue with the hot water so we didn't have any during our stay. They tried to get it fixed but took longer than expected, however not their fault & they were very apologetic.
Review 7:Great location. Organised a boat trip for us and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. Very friendly!
Review 8:This was the best place we stayed on Baja by far. The owners kindly gave us a specula deal on the casita which was beautiful and spacious. The whole property is gorgeous. The garden is a great place to sit and read or work. The open kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. The wifi worked well enough for me to carry out meetings on Skype. Debora and Gerado were fantastic hosts, interesting and sociable. We were even greeted with a cold beer when we arrived. We loved everything and end ed up staying twice as long as we planned.
Review 9:We had the room with the king bed. The room was great but the bed was too firm and the pillows too soft. Not very comfortable for napping or sleeping.
Review 10:The owners of La Damiana Inn were very nice and helpful. They had lots of good restaurant recommendations and Murphy the resident kitty is super cute and charming. The location is perfectly located - walking distance to everything.
Review 11:After 11 days of drinking hot beer, Girado welcomed us with a cold beer that seemed like a miracle at the time. Debora and Girado were warm and friendly and fun to visit with. The Domiana Inn is located perfectly near a grocery store, the city center, but also close to the Malacon were you can walk along the bay in the evening. The Domiana was decorated artfully and there were little areas of eye candy everywhere. I particularly enjoyed the garden which was filled with unique plants, flowers, and birds.
Review 12:If you are on the lower floor you can here people in the lobby area as the doors are made of cactus I believe and although beautiful they are porous. Not an issue at night since it was very quiet, we were more worried about us disturbing other guests.
Review 13:Beautifully decorated, clean, just a great place to stay in Loreto and you cannot beat the price for the quality of the hotel. They even have an outdoor kitchen area you can cook your own meals in.
Review 14:nada!
Review 15:Debora, the manager, and the other staff/people at the hotel were wonderful and super helpful (getting us in with a snorkel tour last minute, telling us about places to go and eat, etc.) and personable and just fun to talk to! The hotel is beautiful, with a great kitchen/sitting/garden area. Beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in on vacation! I really wish we could have stayed more than one night!
Review 16:The rooms were colourful and very mexican, each different. The art and artifacts displayed were clearly lovingly collected over time. Tons of good books to read. Homey atmosphere.
Review 17:Nothing at all
Review 18:A charming little hotel in a charming little town owned and run by two very charming people. thank you very much Gerrardo and Debora for a vey pleasant stay and for making us feel so welcome.
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:The good humour and helpfulness of hosts Gerardo and Debora were outstanding, and a reason to come back. The casita was large and very cozy, and the communal kitchen and garden area most conducive to getting to know the international guests.
Review 21:Nada.
Review 22:Debora is a warm and welcoming innkeeper, funny and helpful. We would return to Damiana just to chat with her again! The garden, lobby, and outdoor kitchen are lovely, many spots to relax.
Review 23:Staff is amazing! Very helpful & knowledgeable of everything Loreto! They went out of their way to make our trip perfect! Will definitely stay there on our next Loreto trip. Loreto has no hurricane damage & is a great place with very good food. It's very safe & a pleasant place to walk around.
Review 24:Any small items were offset by the charm and aura of a fine well-run establishment.
Review 25:This is truly a wonderful Mexican treat. Debora and Gerardo are charming hosts to a clean and well decorated establishment. Staff is available and willing to help with requests. I have stayed here many times and plan on staying many more.
Review 26:Fantastic hosts- Debora and Gerardo, very welcoming, knowledgable, and helpful;attentive to details but give privacy; know the local landscape well Lovely inn-warm,colorful,comfortable and beautiful relaxing courtyard;stayed in la casita- the perfect room- allows cooking, reading and relaxing inside or out, more private Fantastic location with whole town easy walking distance Would definitely go there again and recommend to friends/family (Wonderful restaurants in town- one on corner and one across the street- Meza y luna and Pan que pan- also don't miss Orlando's)
Review 27:Poor wifi in room, family managent limitation. No safe locker even if town itself is safe. The posada is nice but it requires some refurbishment to make it really 100% comfortable
Review 28:Kind owners providing useful 360 degrees suggestions, location at 100 meters from sea and from town center in nice corner where you can overlook local life. Traditional colourful posada with fresh, under the trees patio.value for money is also great here and you will have large spaces available for your stay
Review 29:Very nice place to stay. Good location, close to nice restaurants and very nice friendly staff.
Review 30:The a/c unit was loud & didn't work so COOL.
Review 31:Quaint, clean, comfortable, convenient, parking.
Review 32:no negatives
Review 33:knowledgeable host and beautiful rooms large outdoor kitchen
Review 34:The garden was lovely Very well situated
Review 35:Deborah and Gerardo are the best!
Review 36:Great location, beautifully decorated, friendly and helpful staff. Deborah and her husband do all to make your visit pleasant. Reasonable price.
Review 37:Hospitable, attentive, respectful.
Review 38:Too short a stay
Review 39:Deborah
Review 40:Debra & Gerado will take good care of you in a friendly family-like atmosphere. We will return, and that is the best reccomendation.
Review 41:Everything was great especially the sociability off the outdoor kitchen and dining space.
Review 42:Nada-nothing!
Review 43:Debora is the owner. And treats you like family! She will take good care of you! Tell her Sherry says Hi!
Review 44:I like the location of the hotel, the value you are getting and it was like staying in your friend's house.
Review 45:Excellent staff, very helpfull.
Review 46:None
Review 47:Decor of the hotel. Close to all facilities and the water. Reasonable price.
Review 48:Charming property with homey and relaxed feel, great central location, friendly owners.
Review 49:The beds were small - not even queen size so neither my wife nor I slept well. Noise in the TV area was a problem.
Review 50:Location was perfect - within walking distance of everything. Our host was very nice. There was a nice collection of DVDs to watch and books to read. There was a kitchen available to us The grounds were beautiful.
Review 51:My friend and I stayed there on our last night going through Loreto! We loved it ! Deborah and Javier were fabulous hosts, very helpful and accommodating, we will go back !
Review 52:Great location for visiting historical Loreto, San Javier Mission, and the Malecon. Kitchen availability, garden, and parking were nice extras. Owners/managers were helpful and very nice.
Review 53:the gardens are restful and spacious! and the hammock is perfect morning ,afternoon and evening. The owners are so helpful and friendly! we loved our time there.
Review 54:loved everything.
Review 55:We felt as if we were at a friends house, manny shady patios with flowers and topical plants and trees ,open areas ,corners for reading or watching a movie, comfy beds. It was great, far from the standard motel atmosphere that we are all used to.
Review 56:Centrally located, on a busy street and next to a bar so is rather noisy at all hours. Plumbing problems in one room created an unpleasant odor. Bed mattress needed replacement.
Review 57:Deborah and Gerardo are very personable. They make you feel at home. Garden is lovely and is a nice place to relax.
Review 58:Both the hotel and the owners running the place were great! The staff very very friendly and helpful and the hotel is right in the center of Loreto. The hotel, its gardens and rooms are all beautifully decorated in a traditional Mexican style.
Review 59:While the hotel is well-situated within easy walking distance of anything you would want, this also means it's in a busy area. Our room was right in front and we heard music and traffic all night long. WiFi was only strong enough to use in the common area.
Review 60:The room was beautiful and very spacious. Both beds were comfortable. The common area and garden was also very pretty. The owner was helpful with information about the area and was a native English speaker, which was very helpful since I didn't know any Spanish.
Review 61:There was a bit of leaking from the floor above. However, we told Deborah about it and it was fixed.
Review 62:We enjoyed the wonderful hospitality and assistance from Deborah. The central location across from the main plaza was fabulous. The shared living room area, kitchen and outdoor gardens were very pleasant. We also liked the library of books, Mexican decorations and colors.
Review 63:La Damiana Inn is a bright, cheerful place well-located in the middle of old Loreto, and - somewhat unusually for Mexico - well-signed. We stayed in the Casita and, as such, had plenty of space. However, apart from all of that, what we liked the very best were the hosts - Debra and Gerado. Our time spent with them is one of the happiest memories of the entire trip. When you're there, ask about Isla Verde, an exciting garden project for handicapped children, and consider also stopping by the Eco Alianza down the street, an organization doing great educational work in the community.
Review 64:That we had to leave Mexico when it was 36C to go home to -15C and then it got colder.
Review 65:We loved the decor and gardens, fabulous. The location could not have been better, central to shopping, the Malecon, the Mission, restaurants, the bank! Not to forget Debra, she is fabulous too, thanks again for the banking assistance!
Review 66:I can't think of anything I would change.
Review 67:From the moment we stepped inside the door, it felt like we were at "home" away from home. Loved the Mexican décor, the coziness, the laid-back friendliness of not only Deb, the owner, but even the other guests. Speaking of Deb. She was incredibly accommodating and informative. We took her advice on restaurants and coffee shops and were never disappointed. When we travel back through Loreto, we will definitely want to stay again.
Review 68:the owner, Deborah, was awesome. a very laid back, homey place, that allowed for total privacy or as much interaction with other guests-your choice. in the heart of downtown loreto, close to everything.
Review 69:Just perfect! Damiana Inn has been the best stay ever in Mexico. It isjust in the city center and really close to everything you'd need intown. The place, the style, attention to details, the garden, thesilence, and the way the owners care to their place are just amazing. What really makes the difference is how kind are Deborah and Gerardo, the couple that owns the place, they're welcoming, kind, helpful, and always ready to give you tips, advices and suggestion to make youexperience your stay in Loreto just perfect. Thanks again my friend!!Cannot wait to be back soon!
Review 70:Deborah and her husband were very easy going, helpful and kind. I would love to stay there again. The place is very quaint with a wonderful outdoor area. I look forward to coming back!

Review 74:Nothing except there are a lot of mosquitos inside the hotel
Review 75:The beautiful decoration The location The kindest owner
Review 76:Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was ideal and very well appointed - more then I needed really - in an ideal location.
