Reviews for Dormy Inn Wakkanai

Review 1:Front staff can hardly communicate proper English.

Review 2:Great location.Free ramen at night. Staff is serviced minded especially the guy who was in charge at ramen station.

Review 3:Can hardly think of.

Review 4:Very convenient location near to JR Wakkanai station. Cosy onsen bath on the 10th floor. Nice breakfast buffet and kind and helpful hotel staff. Free ramen served at the lobby 21:00 to 23:00.

Review 5:We took the first ferry to Rishiri at 06:30, so missed breakfast (starts at that hour). Would be great if there was a small "to-go" version of breakfast for the ferry.

Review 6:Arrived late at night, hotel really easy to find from train station (you can see it upon arrival). Clean, comfortable, nice staff, expecting us upon arrival. Onsen was still open. Great stay.

Review 7:Breakfast started at 6:30am, but morning train to Sapporo departs at 7:00. No time for breakfast if catching the train.

Review 8:Close to JR station. Large comfortable room.

Review 9:One of the more dated Dormy Inn's which charges a relatively high price compared to other hotels of this brand. But still very ok.

Review 10:Good location. The standard Dormy Inn package is allways something to go for, in terms of value for money. Rooftop Onsen and free Soba till late. A few good bars and restaurants nearby / just across the street. Very friendly bar owners in the Woo Rivo just across the street.

Review 11:Nearest convinience store is a few (2-3) minutes walk at Wakkanai Station. Did not eat at on-site restaurant, but breakfast looks like your regular/bland asian style buffet.

Review 12:Stayed overnight for boat to Rishiri. I usually stay at hostels, so this place was amazing. Staff are friendly, room is clean. Bathroom clean and spacious with plenty of free toiletry goodies. Allowed luggage storage for 1 night whilst I was in Rishiri (no charge). Good place to stock up on toiletries before heading to Rishiri. 20 min walk to port to Rishiri

Review 13:Great breakfast; interesting and varied. Fantastic staff who are helpful, welcoming, super polite and try hard to communicate effectively. Small but very comfortable room; view of the city and the sea. Fast wifi. Slippers, pyjamas, supper, onsen all included. Love this place.

Review 14:The staff don't believed that the housekeeper forgot to give us slippers, and display an unfriendly & negative attutude

Review 15:SPA and Complimentary Ramen

Review 16:Nothing. We would come back any time.

Review 17:Very clean and new. The onsen on the top floor is fantastic. Clean very nice decoration and the outside onsen is one of the nicest I have seen. Location is also very central and close to ferry pier and restaurants.

Review 18:I visited Wakkanai in order to get up to Cape Soya. I arrived just after midday and The Dormy Inn allowed me to leave my bags ahead of my check-in time while I sought a bus to take me to the Cape. It's about 5 minutes walk from the station. The room was on a par with other hotels in the chain – it was great: clean, comfortable rooms with decent beds.

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:We stayed for 2 nights and spent most of our time travelling about. Despite the hotel specifying that the language spoken was Japanese, we had no trouble with the front desk. Unfortunately, because we were in and out of the hotel frequently, we weren't able to enjoy the hotel's amenities other than their automated parking lots. We must have been a trouble to the staff because of this but they tolerated us with much grace, patience good humour. It was a pity that our booking did not include any breakfast.

Review 21:The desk had no chair, but there were two heavier chairs in the room, so I grabbed one of those. Also, the floor in the toilet and bathroom was squeaky.

Review 22:My room was quite big for a Japanese hotel. I had a twin room for myself. The view out onto the sea was pleasing, but ANA Crowne Plaza was in my way :) Furthermore, the small onsen at the top floor was pleasing and relaxing, and everything was sparkling clean.

Review 23:excellent everything. the spa very nice! it's a bit expensive but.you should try this hotel when you go to wakkanai. they offer free ramen in the evening, but only one for one person.

Review 24:- our room was a little small - great stay but a little expensive

Review 25:- very nice staff - free ramen from 9 to 11 PM - delicious breakfast with all-you-can-eat salmon roes for only 15 dollars - nice rotemburo on 10th floor - next to the station and the ferry terminal

Review 26:Pleasant surprise to find that it included an onsen

Review 27:The public bath is noisy cause people talking loudly.

Review 28:Good staffs, good location, my room having good view seeing the pier

Review 29:A little pricey for a small town

Review 30:Close to JR station, onsen in building

Review 31:Everything was terrific.

Review 32:Very friendly staff, comfortable room, beautiful roof top hot springs, and delicious complimentary ramen!

Review 33:Pillows!

Review 34:Onsen!

Review 35:On site onsen(bathhouse)

Review 36:reserved non smoking room, but got a smoker-one

Review 37:spa

Review 38:coffee free

Review 39:Breakfast time is too short.

Review 40:location is good. Services are great. I really like their onsen!

Review 41:Onsen in the hotel, free ramen at night

Review 42:The breakfast is quite Japanese.

Review 43:The hotel is great.

Review 44:Types of breakfast is limited

Review 45:it is comfortable

Review 46:Free car park, if possible.

Review 47:good onsen

Review 48:Location, onsen bath, late night soba.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Everything

Review 51:Short walk from JR station and bus terminal to Cape Soya. Strategically placed to stroll and sample what (little) Wakkanai has to offer.

Review 52:Aircon was slightly noisy but not too bad.

Review 53:A clean hotel with free dinner. Good location near the station and the port.

Review 54:Great location; quiet, excellent breakfast buffet

Review 55:Basically everything especially the choices of breakfast. Location is very good with lots of restaurants and small shops within 1-minute walk.

Review 56:There was nothing I didn't like. This property met my needs and expectations.

Review 57:The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 58:Top of japan and this hotel was the best near the jr stn. What a place!

Review 59:Easy to find, just look up from the stationand you'll see the building. Great breakfast.

Review 60:The Onsen on the top floor is fantastic!! Take time and go there!

Review 61:Professional service, immaculately clean and in the centre of town.

Review 62:Can't think of anything not trivial.

Review 63:A very cosy and friendly hotel in a great position downtown, - only about three minutes walk from the train and bus station and ten minutes walk from the ferries. I asked for an upper floor room and was given one with a great view of the harbour. I didn't take the breakfasts at Yen 1,500 as the western buffet was probably limited but there is a good supermarket just across from the bus station. My room was very clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful, although their Engish is understandably quite limited. From the airport all flights are met by a local bus number 32, - cost Yen 600 one way. Enter the bus from the rear door and pay the Y600 in the fare-box when leaving (drivers give/make change) - you get off at the train station circle but (NB) it's stop number 1 when leaving.

Review 64:Unloading the car under cover in the parking garage lobby during a thunder storm. The generous sized room. Good room facilities. Good selection of breakfast foods.

Review 65:As a chef I can not help but be concerned about the meals I am to receive, but no dramas here, the breakfast and dinner was outanding. Simply amazing with a great use of local ingrediants, technique and creativity. The hosts were also more than happy to take me to where I needed to be and even offered to take me to a 'locals' spot to watch the sunset. Very sweet and very accomodating.

Review 66:No free parking

Review 67:This hotel is clean and comfortable with free wifi and public bath. It is within walking distance to JR station, seafood market and famous dome.

Review 68:Rate quite high for a Dormy Inn, but that's due to a lack of competition in Wakkanai. At the price we paid, I would have hoped to have WiFi not only in the lobby but also in the room.

Review 69:Washing machines and detergent in the coin laundry are free of charge, only dryers require payment.

Review 70:pricely compared to such grade of hotel. almost double the fare if you stay at city like supporo.

Review 71:The staffs are multitask, a receptionist is also a chef and waiter but are doing good job equally. bravo! don't expect too much at such remote area.

Review 72:Staff was great, especially since we were on our bicycles. Very helpful with indoor storage! Very nice outdoor sento.

Review 73:Close to the station, very clean and comfortable.

Review 74:The breakfast (western style) was poor, and not good value for 1500Y

Review 75:Good sized room.

Review 76:The girl at the front desk was outstanding and had some English. I also had a special request and they figured out how to help me ! ! !

Review 77:Limited english

Review 78:Nice

Review 79:No breakfast included. The 1500¥ they charge for it now is way over the top

Review 80:The spa/onsen

Review 81:Easy to find from station, smart room with good bed and big TV.

Review 82:Don't know!

Review 83:Inside the room
