Reviews for Ambassador-Monaco
Review 1:The room was a single room. Window facing a brick wall. The bed wasn't too uncomfortable but the pillows were like sleeping on concrete....terribly uncomfortable. Not a good night sleep at all
Review 2:The hotel is welcoming, as were the staff on reception....
Review 3:We made reservation several weeks ago and asked for a quiet room, but we suffered mechanical noice of elevator day and night. Our New Year Eve holiday passed like in a factory crain section. We asked staff to change our room, but this was not possible due to ful capacity. Later I saw that this topic is mentioned by other guests in the past. It's a pitty not to fix this technical issue for a hotel that pretends to have 3 stars and charges 2-3 times more than the offered service.
Review 4:Staff is kind. They try to be for help on all the cases, but the conditions to satisfy customers are limited. They worked all day to fix the missing hot water issue, trying to give pleasant replies to guests.
Review 5:There was a couple of problems with the hotel during our stay, but they were out of the control of the hotel and was just unfortunate timing. The hotel also gave us a bottle of wine and a small reduction on the cost of the hotel to reflect the problems they had experienced during our stay.
Review 6:The location of this hotel is ideal, and it is very good value for money.
Review 7:Monte-Carlo is very expensive, let's start from it. And for the same price I could get in other countries e better service. For 10 euro the breakfast is very poor. In the morning if you would like to sleep till 9:30 the cleaning woman may wake you up much earlier walking on the heels in the corridor or during the work-days the street is quite noisy. The rest is good)
Review 8:good location
Review 9:Mildew in the bathroom (not very cleen especially the shower)
Review 10:Localisation in the center. Very close to underground parking. Good connection with old city with the bus.
Review 11:We realise, that in October your turn off the cool & change to heat, over the past 2 days the temperature has been above 21 C during the day and down to 17C during the night. We asked for the heat to be turned off, we were told it couldn’t, we asked how can we sleep, we were told open the window. I asked about Mosquito’s, I was told they had all finished, this morning, when I woke I had a mosquito bite on the neck & found 2 of them in the bathroom, when I was about to take a shower. We were told leave the window open we got all the noise from outside and also the lamp outside room 10, shines brightly into the room. We asked the staff if you have a fan to help circulate the air, we were told you do not have any, maybe you would like to invest in a couple to help over come this problem when it occurs again. This helps circulate the air in the room, when there is no movement of air
Review 12:Manuella on the front desk, is very helpful & tried to help as much as she could.
Review 13:As on high street really noisey couldn't have doors open for air and air conditioning had been turned off due to late in the season. So nights were uncomfortable because of heat/noise. Also moody waiters in the pasta bar. Breakfast wasn't worth the money
Review 14:Cleanliness and helpful front desk and central location
Review 15:The room was very hot and the thermostat could not be changed.
Review 16:The location is perfect, very close to the heart of Monaco. Staff were very happy and friendly.
Review 17:Biggest problem was actually finding address of hotel as we came into Monaco. Then finding a parking space to unload. After that everything was great.
Review 18:Was great location and easy access to everything in Monaco. Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Review 19:There is not a lot of signage making it easy to miss. It's next to an Italian restaurant. The milk at breakfast was a bit pongy but the waitress changed it immediately, but the breakfast itself was excellent.
Review 20:The location was perfect. It is a 10 minute walk from the station on an underground walkway. It's near shops, restaurants, the palace and the marina from where you can take buses to the beach. The receptionist was friendly and gave us 2 maps. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and highly finished.
Review 21:Not really a bad experience, but was fortunate to get in as I didn't take a passport. I had my agent send an e- mail scan of it
Review 22:Easy to get around from there- though didn't know there was a quick way to get there from the train station
Review 23:The hotel was very expensive and offered very little in terms of added comfort. the room was quite small and managed to put the toilet in a separate room to the rest of the bathroom so you had to walk between the two the wash your hands. Overall decor of the place was pretty dated and the reception, lift and corridor to room were not as clean as they could be. It felt like a 2.5 star hotel.
Review 24:Free WiFil
Review 25:The room was far too hot. We asked twice about someone looking at the aircon but were told it wasnt possible until a few days later. Very hard to get dolled up and do your hair when its so hot!
Review 26:Staff were fantastic, we got a wonderful upgrade on account of it being a birthday treat. We were also given a voucher for a free drink at the bar. Super service, would definitely go back.
Review 27:Staff wasn't overwhelmingly pleasant. Small rooms - but you get what you pay for in Monaco! Shower a bit shabby.
Review 28:Value for money seemed appropriate.
Review 29:Air conditioning was weak in our room. Front staff not as friendly or helpful as other places we stayed in.
Review 30:Location and price. Nice to be able to walk from train station and close to everything.
Review 31:Not that friendly front desk personnel. Location is not that central.Monaco is small but Hotel is kind of far to attractions. 15+15 Euro taxidrive back and forth to hotel.
Review 32:A Starbucks right in-front of hotel :) Good Facility. Large rooms. Nicebathrooms. Good Wi-Fi. Reserved luggage drop parking area in-front ofhotel if you come by car. (30 mins). 200 Euro a night 2 person is goodand cheap for Monaco in high season. Will make you satisfied. CarParking is close by. Daily 20 euro. (10 euro with hotel discount)
Review 33:no porter slow reception old tatty paintwork. Horrible ironing board. Bad smell in corridors. Bad unhealthy breakfast. No eggs possible. Awful view of an office block. A bad experience.
Review 34:Location near station and port. Friendly housekeeping staff.
Review 35:My room had a noisy fan in the toilette and the wifi was terrible. Rooms are not worth 180euro but I guess that's Monaco. I also think for that price breakfast should be included my room window had a view of a wall like a prison also.
Review 36:Location and half price on parking. Staff were helpful.
Review 37:No complaints but the decor was rather tired & needs a spring clean!!
Review 38:Friendly & helpful staff. Location of hotel was good. Overall it was suitable for our need.
Review 39:We stayed 3 nights in this Hotel. All the time there was a strong bad smell in corridors and in the room (cleaning products). Another very bad smell in the stairway, this one was really disqusting. Breakfast was very poor plus low quality of products. But Starbucks is in front of the Hotel and there are many Brasseries around.
Review 40:WLAN ist perfectly working, fast and strong connection - could even use it while enjoying a good breakfast at Starbucks :-) Surprisingly, the Hotel Restaurant "Pizza & Pasta" is very good with even better pricing and a nice and friendly Staff. For some the hotel might be too far from the Casino/Beach, but we didn't mind. It's a nice aerea, public transport is nearby, fast and easy. It's a nice walk to and from the Casino at night with beautiful views.
Review 41:Internet could have been better in the room. I think I had the worst room in the hotel, my view was to another wall.
Review 42:Although this hotel might be considered overpriced, for Monaco the price is fair. Location is top!
Review 43:smell was very disappointing, not a good location, you can not stop and unload directly next to the building, but had to go to a nearby parking lot and from there bepakolni.A bathroom was rusty .A the photos really do not give a true picture of the back .The breakfast is very poor.
Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:The room is very small. The wifi is not stable. The check out time is very early, at 11 am.
Review 46:Monaco is very small. However, the location is very very good, just right in the center. The staff who welcomed us when we arrived was very nice, however, the staff the next day was very very bad. I think the only good thing are the location and the beds are very comfortable. It is fine for one day tour. I would still suggest to live at Nice when visiting Monaco.
Review 47:Difficult to see the sign for the hotel we walked past it twice before we found the door.
Review 48:Location from the train & attractions is excellent. Excellent bathroom. Breakfast was good.
Review 49:Good option for travellers going to Monaco not wanting to pay extreme prices. Comfortable rooms in a good location with easy going and friendly staff. Also great parking nearby at discounted rates for hotel guests.
Review 50:Our room had the tiniest shower I have ever seen. Our other friends had a normal tub shower but ours was tiny! Felt very old and dated. I guess you get what you pay for.
Review 51:The location was great, once we found it. It's centrally located but we were driving and passed it several times as it does not have the name outside.
Review 52:Airco not working in allocated room which was hot and small. Reception at first seemed unwilling to do anything about it, asking whether it was too warm up there. Eventually relented after some cajoling with a change of room.
Review 53:Location, cleanliness of rooms, OK breakfast (but mind asking for a cappuccino - it'll be charged to your bill).
Review 54:The room was not like on pictures. Also the view was very bad. There was brick wall in front of my window and the noise from the lift was going all night.
Review 55:The bed's pillows were a little hard and the hair dryer was broken.
Review 56:The location and price of the room were awesome and the room was spotless. Also, the staff was really professional and welcoming.
Review 57:Wasn't a bad experience but although the hotel has parking outside it's impossible to park because Monte Carlo is a zoo for leaving your car.I put mine in the parking lot across the street and apparently that's the deal.Maybe that note could be added. It's a very nice place and only 10 euros a day
Review 58:Once the car was parked it was easy to access just about everything including the palace on foot. Wide range of eateries all around and a 7 day market across the street. I'm a coffee and croissant for breakfast guy and there were coffee places within minutes.
Review 59:No bad experiences, just could do with a gym for the solo business traveller!
Review 60:Clean and comfortable, decent location and very helpful staff. Good restaurant for nice simple Italian fare too
Review 61:Small room, could not hang my suit because the closet was so small. Hotel was last renovated in the 30s give or take..
Review 62:I guess location but monaco is so small anywhere is good location
Review 63:A very simple, clean and quiet hotel. It was a perfect base for getting a good night sleep and be able to reach the whole city by foot during the days.
Review 64:The staff do not live in Monaco and do not know their way around. They do not even know what is on the next block or where the closest entrance to the train station is.
Review 65:There was a small 5 Euro supplement for breakfast but it was a great value. The presentation and quality matched the best brunch buffets at luxury hotels and was really enough for breackfast and lunch. The seeting near the traditional market area and harbor and Monanco Palace shows the historic side of the area. The plaza on the corner is the hub for Monaco's bus transit and the train and bus to Nice are a block away.. Since it is difficult to get a taxi or parking in Monaco, this is a plus. Bathrooms completely remodeled.
Review 66:I would recommend having breakfast there unless it is for free.
Review 67:Very central, close to a car park, friendly service staff, comfy and clean, good restaurant for dinner, welcome drink
Review 68:Small details like broken door handles in halls, blurs on carpets in room, missing hygiene stripe on wc, breakfast could be better, parking (be ready to park one day and not to touch your car till another day so to pay promised €10/day...otherwise u pay everytime u go out from parking house)
Review 69:Position, staff, good cappuccino in bar, baby cot for our baby
Review 70:Bed was two singles put together, this made the bed not so comfortable for two people.
Review 71:Good location, clean, decent size bedroom. Car park was just outside the door in public carpark building, discount given by the hotel which was reasonable.
Review 72:Internet was poor/unusable at night. Breakfast was deplorable. No fresh fruit, no cheese (to think we are surrounded by France!), no eggs. Most food was wrapped in plastic from package, everything was sugary and cheap. Breakfast staff was extremely rude and poorly trained. Coffee was lousy and cold. Tables were dirty.
Review 73:Very nice reception staff, and cleaning ladies. Hotel offers good value for Monaco, and excellent location close to all points of interest and public transportation.
Review 74:The hairdryer was ca. from the 1960ies! Didn't help anything but the friendly staff at the Recording helped to give us a modern and strong one.
Review 75:Rooms were tidy ans clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom small but good, Staff was very friendly and helpfull! Breakfast was small but for a good price. Very quiet in the room with the windows closed!
Review 76:Room was small but you get what you pay for in Monaco
Review 77:Location and staff were great. The cost of everything in Monaco is quite high comparatively but it is well worth dropping in on as there is always something to do or see.
Review 78:Double room (#10) was a good size & quiet. Hotel right opposite Starbucks - convenient for breakfast Hotel provide voucher for parking, reducing price by 50%
Review 79:-the interior of the building and the rooms need some renovation but with this price there is nothing to complain about
Review 80:-nice view -professional, kind staff -parking discounts for guests
Review 81:Far too expensive for what we got. Tiny lift, tiny room ... tiny bed ... bed too short for comfort. World's smallest shower.
Review 82:Cheaper than other Monte Carlo Hotels
Review 83:None
Review 84:Bed is big and comfortable. Separate WC and Bath. They provide quality amnesties and luxurious towels. It is a classic hotel, newly renovated at the lobby. Good breakfast provided. Location is good. Near the palace n old town. There is a direct tunnel to walk to get to train station.
Review 85:Nil, can't fault it.
Review 86:Great location. Nice outlook from the room of the old fortress. Very helpful and friendly staff. Easy access to the train station via underground access way. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
Review 87:Nothing
Review 88:Everything. Monaco is staggeringly expensive (clearly!) and this hotel gives great value for money. It's location in La Condamine works well: only a short walk from wonderful resturants, the port, and the station (which, with the network of public lifts & escalators gives easy access to most other places).
Review 89:Our room (#40) was very noisy. You can hear the elevator engine non-stop. The mattresses there are very cheap and not comfortable we had to turn it around. Also they didn't agree to change the room because the hotel was "fully book" which was clearly not true. Stay away from this hotel.
Review 90:Very good location, the parking is very close and you get a discount coupon from the hotel of 50% off (total 10 euro for 24hours) Average French breakfast.
Review 91:hotel is centrally located close to yacht marina and castle..hotel staff were friendly and helpful...room was comfortable and good sized, especially the bathroom..bfast was abundant.. well priced for monaco!! recommended...
Review 92:For our three day trip , we found this hotel perfect . Free breakfast is a nice little bonus . We thought hotel in great location . Staff were very courteous .
Review 93:Welcomes drink choice out of 3, busy road but didn't bother me. Breakfast I didn't take only drinks but it was not bad at all.
Review 94:Reception, no extra costs for my little dog, cheap parking 10 euros for 24 hours. Clean bed and bathroom. Close to the harbour and shops around you. I would go again for sure
Review 95:Breakfast is not the standard i expected for the price i paid. The fruit are from the cans, nothing fresh at all, so it is a very basic, quality of the muffins unacceptable. The room doors were all squeaky, noisy, i had to ask to have it repaired., which did happen, but this is not expected in any hotel.
Review 96:Location is very good, staff were helpful.
Review 97:Expensive stay just for one night but for Monaco the price is reasonable!
Review 98:Large room. His and hers sinks in the bathroom. 3 small balconies in the one room! 5-10 mins walk from Port Hercules. Close to the old town and the Palace.
Review 99:Entering the lobby from the street was a bit awkward because of the staircase, but not worth a complaint.
Review 100:Before our arrival, via emai, we were able to communicate with Dulce at the Ambassador, who helped us arrange transportation to the Nice airport. She set the tone for excellent service that was consistent with the lobby as well as the restaurant staff.
Review 101:Room furniture and bathroom were old and worn-out. Very small room.
Review 102:Staff was very helpful. Underground public parking is just across the street from the hotel.
Review 103:Air conditioning non_existent. Beds rolled everyone to the middle. Pretty difficult to charge electronics (could only use shaver outlet).
Review 104:Price okay. Food in restaurant excellenT. Staff very helpful.
Review 105:Room was very nice (had the one with the spa). Great location. Restaurant downstairs which is handy. Good service and great staff. Would stay there again.
Review 106:Staff not overly friendly Rooms small and old furniture Traffic noisy on main road No tea coffee making facilities No safe Way too expensive for what accomodation was offering
Review 107:Other than location was ok not a lot else to brag about
Review 108:Location suited us as we drove. With the local underground car park across the road, and a hotel discount card it proved very easy compared to other hotels along out travels. Complimentary drink at the bar. Good rooms, very much like Monaco, slightly ageing, but enough for a short break at an affordable price! If you want posh, buy a boat!
Review 109:Room was disappointing, twin beds pushed together which was really annoying because there was a gap the whole time! Toilet seat was chipped and cracked, decor was very faded and in need of new sheets and towels! No toiletries were provided. And staff very unhelpful.
Review 110:Location to amenities was very good. Breakfast included in price, but get down early they don't restock!
Review 111:NA
Review 112:Perfect location and good little pizzeria for supper.
Review 113:The receptionist was very kind and helpfull.
Review 114:Night time noise from neighbouring rooms and traffic. Slight drain smell in bathroom
Review 115:Excellent location for sightseeing
Review 116:All nice people very helpful
Review 117:breakfast
Review 118:good central location
Review 119:Breakfast
Review 120:location Staff Great and modern room
Review 121:Great location for economy visit for work or play in Monaco and close to the statuon
Review 122:Location and friendliness of staff.
Review 123:Limited space when exiting elevator to reach room.
Review 124:Noisy
Review 125:Situation
Review 126:N/A
Review 127:The room was comfortable, being able to have a complete dinner for 14€ per person, & breakfast was 8€ per person. We would stay here again
Review 128:Room was nice and location fantastic - especially in relation to train station
Review 129:traffic noise
Review 130:location, room (corner room, had windows on two sides)
Review 131:bedroom too small
Review 132:restaurant - food, fair price, staff very helpful
Review 133:No dislikes; front of hotel parking was at a premium.
Review 134:Excellent front desk support, both at check-in and concierge activities. Great location
Review 135:A bit dated, long walk to Monte Carlo, poor breakfast
Review 136:A bus stop just outside the hotel that goes straight to Nice airport
