Reviews for Hostal El Ancla
Review 1:Hot water was only occasionally, found a big dead cockroach and an alive small cockroach in the room, first day there was no soap, the room they gave us had no wardrobe. Wi-fi has to improve.
Review 2:The staff is very friendly and do the best they can to help you. In front of the beach and a nice "street food" place by the beach very well organized and fun to experience (great food there!).
Review 3:No real atmosphere - nice building and staff but no real activity or interaction with other guests. Breakfast was quite average.
Review 4:Quiet, safe, clean - away from busy or noisy parts of the beach, but not too far (5-10 mins walk).
Review 5:Arrived late at night and staff didn't seem to know we were coming or what the wifi closed was. All sorted with phone calls but not a great first impression.
Review 6:Staff in morning very friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of breakfasts but not included in price. Great room and very clean well kept hostel
Review 7:The value for money was average. Having looked around town, we could have stayed elsewhere for cheaper, with similar facilities. Breakfast was ok, and was not included in the room rate. At this price, I felt that it should have been included.
Review 8:The room was a good size and very comfortable with a nice hot shower. It also had cable TV, which was a treat for us. The staff were very friendly, even though our Spanish is terrible and it was sometimes difficult to communicate. Easy walk to the main part of town, but far enough away to ensure we could get a good sleep.
Review 9:It was a good walk to town. Not the happening part anyway. The pictures on the net don't do the rooftop any justice. It was super windy when we were there and the rooftop would have been ideal but it was all falling a part and no deck chairs to be seen which was one of our deciding factors initially.
Review 10:Matrimonial room was nice and clean. Shower's were great. Tv in the room. The staff were super helpful but not always to be seen.
Review 11:It was excellent to have the hotel so close to the beach and yet be only a 5 minute walk to the busy part of the beach and downtown. Nice to have breakfast in the hotel and for the amount of money we paid for our room, we were quite happy with what El Ancla had to offer. Also a very eclectic mix of antiques and photos.
Review 12:Staff were not friendly and kept asking for payment on arrival which is very unprofessional in my opinion.
Review 13:Room was large and spacious
Review 14:We stayed at Hostal El Ancla for an overnight on our trip from Huarazback to Ecuador. The staff, especially the young man, was very helpfuland friendly. We also enjoyed a good breakfast. Wish we could havestayed longer! Dog-friendly, and secure parking are big pluses for us.
Review 15:Great location right on the esplanade and only a short walk to the centre of town. Friendly helpful staff and the hotel has rooftop tables and chairs overlooking the beach.
Review 16:I did not see any staff member during 24 hours, except at Check-in. Nostaff to organize brekfast I finally took elsewhere, no staff membereven for Check out... Very noisy during the day, better at night. Darkatmosphere everywhere. Terrace under work, not available...
Review 17:Hostal is directly on the beach.
Review 18:everything!
