Reviews for Jackaroo Treehouse Mission Beach
Review 1:Would have been nice with coat hangers and a mirror in the room. The showers are not meant for tall people (<170cm)
Review 2:The view was outstanding! And the staff was very polite and helpful.
Review 3:Very unorganized, inattentive staff. We felt our needs as guests were neglected and never a priority. Most of the staff seemed to be working there for free, therefore probably not caring much about their work.
Review 4:Great view
Review 5:The staff was really friendly and they had great things to offer, e.g. movie night and hammocks outside. As the outdoor area looked like to be in the middle of the jungle it was a great atmosphere.
Review 6:The only bad thing I have to say about this place is a lot of the people staying there are long term staff and at times it can be very cliquey.... Especially when you hear yourself being spoken about - not in a good way either!!!
Review 7:The hostel is located in a wonderful area with amazing scenery. Very chilled out. The shuttle bus is also very good. The manager is really friendly and helpful.
Review 8:The walls are so thin you can hear every sound from next room.
Review 9:Hostel is located in the middle of rainforest with ocean view which is the most beautiful place to locate hostel. Tasty and free breakfast!
Review 10:Nice place a little bit outside from Mission Beach. Very good price for value. Nice restaurants very close by. Kitchen and shared room is nice with oen space, beamer, games and barbecue
Review 11:Extremely poor wifi connection which made it difficult to contact people at home.
Review 12:The fact that I was moved into a less busy room, given an extra blanket when I asked for one,the surroundings, and they put subtitles on the films especially for me as I am partially deaf!
Review 13:At Bingil Bay, far away from restaurants. Good if you want a low-key experience of Missuion beach, which is pretty low-key in itself
Review 14:Friendly staff, really nice facility, beautifful views of the hillsides.
Review 15:It was a little far from Mission Beach, but we had a car so we didn't have to rely on the shuttle.
Review 16:The site was beautiful and the pool view was really nice.
Review 17:If you come at night - the road is totally dark- difficult to find the place
Review 18:Wonderful place! Wonderful staff!! Very nice kitchen and living room, with games. At night they showed a movie on a big screen!!
Review 19:Very bad location, about 20 minute drive from local woolworths and the hostel bus only goes every 1.5-2 hrs. Rooms at very warm due to lack of air con. There is a pool but no sun loungers.
Review 20:The hostel does provide cooking equipment although there isn't enough to go around. Free wifi is a bonus.
Review 21:There was no aircon!
Review 22:I liked the communal area, it was very spacious and accommodating, it was also good that alcohol could be purchased and the free mini bus that was provided into the town
Review 23:Beautiful hostel surrounded by nature. Staff really helpful and friendly. Even though we were only for one night it was really relaxing and enjoyable.
Review 24:One of the best hostels we stayed. We were picked up from the greyhound station. The hostel is surrounded by rainforest so you hear loads of birds but no other noise, and from the terrace you can see the sea at the horizon. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Common areas, bathroom and our room were clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything. Breakfast was free. There's a swimming pool, table tennis und table football.
Review 25:Bugs in the garden, but it wasn t really a problem, we never saw anything in the room and anyway the staff always took care of them. I mean, you re in the middle of the forest!
Review 26:Amazing location in the middle of the forest. The hostel was so clean and the kitchen has all you need. Best thing is the staff, very kind and funny, especially the two swedish guys and the german one :D We stayed there for a week and was just perfect, we did a bonfire too with the hostel staff and all the guests and was a great night. The hostel offers a bus service to every beach and supermarkets, and they are always ready to help. I would recommend it to everyone!
Review 27:Nothing big enough to mention
Review 28:Quiet rainforest setting. Free wifi. Free regular shuttle to the town, beach and greyhound stop, free bike hire, free breakfast, free tea and coffee... What's not to like!?
Review 29:Nothing really - it is a lovely low key place to be.
Review 30:The location is idyllic and quiet. The staff are super relaxed and friendly. There are all sorts of options for people to join in and socialise or you can take time out on your own. A lovely place to get away from everything.
Review 31:Bugs everywhere
Review 32:Nice location in the rainforest
Review 33:Great place to relax. Beautiful, quiet, clean. I really liked it
Review 34:My sheet was mouldy, the blanket had holes. The staff rarely smiled.
Review 35:Great view from the communal area, pretty grounds
Review 36:Staff a bit 'dry', noisy.
Review 37:Nice spot in the countryside, free breakfast
Review 38:Internet connection and on site internet woeful
Review 39:Great spot
Review 40:managers attitude and no info re free breakfast so we ate out
Review 41:good atmosphere
Review 42:Friendly staff event nights movies every evening
Review 43:Everything was fine! No complaints:-)
Review 44:I stayed in a Twin Room!, which was great! Nice and clean facilities! I would definitely stay here again!
Review 45:Poor Wifi and indifferent staff, except for the students. Jackarooed the price from the booked price by 20.00.
Review 46:It was quiet and comfortable.
Review 47:Everything was great!
Review 48:I am fine with bugs but as a warning to people who have a fear of moths or spiders etc perhaps try somewhere else!
Review 49:Firstly, the staff are awesome, really friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and setting is lovely, peaceful. Kitchen and common area very good. A good place to spot wildlife inc wallabies, cockatoos, snakes, frogs.
Review 50:The hostel have a shuttle service to pick you up and take you back from the city / supermarket. They are non effective at all. I had a poor experience of spending 3 hours in a single day, being driven everywhere but to the place I wanted to go to, and later on not being picked up because they probably just forgot about me :( As nice as the staff is, this really was a poor experience...
Review 51:I liked the location a lot. The setting of the hostel is very nice if you're looking for a quiet break out of everthing. The hostel is very isolated and makes it difficult for you to go anywhere. + The nearest city (Mission beach) is not a city, it is 2 streets with nothing but 3 shops and 2 coffees places. The kitchen is clean, staff is nice, landscape is gorgeous. You can go hiking, which I highly recommend for the look out !
Review 52:It literally is in the middle of nowhere!! In a rainforest so prepared to get bitten my nats, a good 30mins walk away from a beach which is not mission beach that's even further away!! There's nowhere to eat apart from one resturant which is about a 20min walk away in the pitch black, the rooms are really basic we had 2 single beds, shelf which was wonky and a mirror to basic for the price!
Review 53:The experience of staying in a rainforest
Review 54:The room wasn't very comfortable to sleep in, the fan was quite loud at night but we would have never got any sleep with it being off as the hostel was based up in the rainforest which meant it would have been too hot to sleep. The location wasn't the greatest either, it was only lucky that we had a car otherwise we would have been stuck at the hostel.
Review 55:I thought the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It's a good place for young travellers to stay.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Really cool hostel! Nice store, great kitchen and nice swimmingpool.. Free wifi wich was working really good.. We had a private room.. The bed was good. I would recommend this hostel.. Great price!
Review 58:Just a bit out of town!
Review 59:It was a bit out of town, but it was so worth it! The mountain views, The pool and the hammocks were amazing! I loved the atmosphere!
Review 60:In the middle of the jungle with not much to do, even though its quite self contained.
Review 61:That they ran a shuttle in to 6 times a day for getting into town and supermarket.
Review 62:Location - Isn't close to anything, but the hostel has a mini van service to take you to the beach &/or town. Suggest if you get there in time, to go to the shops & get your groceries before you're taken to the hostel.
Review 63:Nice place to chill & hangout. Got hammocks neatly placed in the shade & a swimming pool in the sun. Free wifi in the common room & guests rooms. Staff are nice, friendly & have a laugh with all their guests. They organise something entertaining for every night. Room & bathroom/toilets were always clean & the kitchen area was always neat.
Review 64:The hostel lays in the middle of the rainforest, this provides an amazing atmosphere. Due to numerous bus rides during the day to the city this remoteness is not a problem at all. Furthermore, the crew is really friendly and awesome!
Review 65:The staff were great and the position of the hostel gives rise to calm and relaxation. Also there are various activities for people to participate in and a shuttle bus to the beach and village.
Review 66:The tv was pretty loud, if you wanted to go to sleep early. It did go off at 11.00 and it was quiet after that.
Review 67:Friendly staff, well organised facilities. Communal kitchen, tv room. Friendly guests also. Atmosphere very relaxed. Beautiful location. Pool.
Review 68:Free bikes offered but its a long and hilly trek into town, poor men's shower, bugs by the sinks
Review 69:Surrounded by rainforest, layout of the hostel, something going on every night (BBQ/quiz etc)
Review 70:Amazing location, in the middle of the rainforest. Lots of opportunities for trips or to relax in the pool or garden. Just great!
Review 71:Says free wifi but it only works on their computer and there's always a queue
Review 72:Great place. Beautiful surroundings. Nice pool. Clean
Review 73:- Great architecture of the hostel (like tree house) - amazing nature surrounding the house
Review 74:Staff waited up 1 to 2 hrs past check in time just for us. He was an awesome bloke
Review 75:The best hostel I've ever stayed in Australia so far. Great value for money :) very relaxint place!
Review 76:You can rent a bike for free and it's fairly easy to get into town.
Review 77:I didnt like to leave so early.
Review 78:slight bit far from the beach but a bus service is provided by the hostel
Review 79:pool is nice and its great they have movie nights on a projector
Review 80:very basic accommadation
Review 81:friendly staff. complementary breakfast. complementary bikes and other facilities
