Reviews for Hotel Dordrecht

Review 1:Horibble service...they never pick up the phone at the reception. Creepy sounds behind bedroom window. Kept calling reception and they didn't pick up until i called later over and over. Practically didn't sleep. I missed breakfast by 15 mins by sleeping off and I was told to go out and buy food while I was staring at the remaining food right in front of me...terrible hotel. They don't care about their customers. No restaurant.

Review 2:Clean room and bathroom

Review 3:The advert for the hotel does not say that those seeking "standard" rooms may be placed in a separate annex at the back of the hotel. The room was clean to be fair, but it very much lacked the feel of the image portrayed in the booking advert. The room was very plain and a little dated.

Review 4:The breakfast was really nice, plenty of food and choice. The bed was very comfortable. Nice location, with the water a few metres in front of the hotel. The main building of the hotel was very presentable.

Review 5:This is an interesting hotel with a history. Located not far the the historic centre of the city. The building brings the image of elegance from a time gone by.

Review 6:Not a bad experience for us but no lift as its a listed building, ensure you request ground floor room if you have limited mobility

Review 7:Hotel in a great location, very old building and beautifully done originally but bathroom could do with an upgrade. Incredibly breakfast and lovely staff and secure private parking

Review 8:We only stayed one night, but would stay again! Lovely room on first floor since we have an 18 month old. Easy walk to town, close to train station, walkable. EXCELLENT breakfast that is included! Cute and peaceful garden, you can eat outside. Lovely staff.

Review 9:Hotel was in a good position, roughly 10-15 minute walk into centre of Dordrecht. Hotel was very clean, we were in an atic room which was very spacious but did get very warm even with fan and air con on. Staff very friendly would definitely stay again.

Review 10:Stayed for one night on my bike tour from Mainz to Hoek van Holland. Late check-in was no problem. Check-out at 12am too. I've got a key for a bike parking lot, very helpful indeed. I stayed in the additional accomodation block in the grounds. The room was big and comfortable enough. Wifi was fast and free. Breakfast was delicious and really huge, one get it served directly on the table, no need to cruise with a plate along the buffet stations) I enjoyed the chat with the staff about hotel's history. Interesting, the museum Huis Van Gijn lent to the hotel some painings of Frans Lebret, who built this house and lived there until his death in 1909.

Review 11:The hotel is an old converted mansion with a new wing at the rear. The style and decoration of the main building was in keeping with its heritage value.

Review 12:The beds were a little too soft for us. The strip light by the curtains would not turn off(this was a minor irritation for me)

Review 13:Cleanliness. Staff(only met 2 though) The man who greeted us was extremely welcoming, polite and professional.

Review 14:Nothing from my point of view access cold be difficult if you had mobility issues.

Review 15:The hotel is in an old dutch town house with bags of charachter and comfortable if quirky rooms. The staff were very good and the breakfasts were good as well(cooked breakfast available freely)

Review 16:There was no minibar The was no king size bed. If I preferred one then I would have to pay 50 euro extra.

Review 17:the room: clean quality of the bed good room is spacious

Review 18:Short walking distance to the old town. The charm of a home of its late 1800''s style. Atmospheric. A reasonable breakfast that could have been more extensive. Large rooms of charm and comfort in the original house of a lesser known Dutch painter Frans Lebret. SHALL BE WRITING OTHER REVIEWS as a Journalist.

Review 19:Even if the hotel was quite good, my experience during my last day was more than awful... We came back to the hotel early in the afternoon of the day before the checkout date... when we noticed that our stuff were packed in our suitcases and plastic bags (laundry together with clean clothes, shoes together with toothbrushes etc) and they were waiting for us at the reception... The lady at the reception told us that in their system had that we had to checkout this date... even if I had a confirmation email directly from the hotel that the checkout date was next morning... When we complained... she said that it was not her fault and things like this happen all the time... They didn't at least bother to send us a message before they through us out... We asked for the manager... who by the way came after 20 minutes... who, even if I showed him the confirmation email, did not believe it and had to call the guy that wrote the email and booking office to be sure... But even then, he was extremely rude, he never, at least apologized for the problem, he treated us like it wasn't his problem... and even laugh at us when we asked him what would happen if something was missing from our stuff the way they packed them... I come from a country that hospitality is our main issue, and I have to mention that persons like them don't have the right to run business that have to do with hospitality. Customer service is an unknown word for them and they have to consider to change their behavior if they want to have a place in the tourist market...

Review 20:The deterioration of a once opulent building that is not being maintained.

Review 21:Location to the museum and the scotch whiskey tasting across the street and watching the World Cup.

Review 64:Small minus was that there's no power socket for a razor / hair dryer next to a mirror

Review 65:Friendly staff, good breakfast, walking distance to the center of Dordrecht

Review 66:Male dining room waiter was awful on our first morning. Many minor things went wrong, and he publicly and very loudly berated his female coworker. If I had been her, I would have quit on the spot. Had I been the manager, I would have fired him on the spot.

Review 67:The overall atmosphere, the location. Except for one very negative incident, it was a lovely place to stay.

Review 68:Only one minor gripe - I didn't find out about the Wi-Fi until I was checking out!

Review 69:I liked pretty much everything about the Hotel Dordrecht, to be honest. Dordrecht is one of my favourite cities and I have been several times, although this was the first time I'd stayed here. The location in terms of easy access to the Grote Kerk, the river and the Old Town is excellent (it's a short bus ride or a 20-minute walk from the station) and the building itself is a fine one with an interesting history. My room - in the annexe - was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very good and set me up nicely for the day. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 70:Our room was dated and with very limited view; there is no lift (and stairs are high); prices are high compared to hotels in the same category

Review 71:Location is excellent, parking space ample, staff very friendly

Review 72:No restaurant for food at night Staff not helpful or friendly 1st room loud - they knew I would complain 2nd room very uncomfortable single beds No facilities Tired place

Review 73:Leaving

Review 74:Room 20 on the 2nd floor was tatty ... Old carpet, old floor standing aircon, shower curtain too big for bath, lumpy beds. Previously stayed in the annex, where rooms smaller but more comfortable. Certainly not value for 110euro I was charged per night. Disappointed.

Review 75:Breakfast was good

Review 76:Nothing really to complain about. It's a three star hotel and obviously doesn't have the facilities you might expect in a higher grade.

Review 77:An impressive 19th century merchant's house with many original elements and an attractive garden. Well situated overlooking a harbour and on the edge of the historic city. Characterful room with period furniture and a naval theme. Comfortable bed and a large TV with international channels. Good breakfast with individually made bacon and eggs.

Review 78:Staff very friendly, breakfast more courses than you can handle, only a few hotels in this town, all the others are on the other side of town about the same distance to the middle of the town .

Review 79:The garden had some spectatular old trees, but in itself was not well maintained.

Review 80:An unexpected complete breakfast served in a cozy atmosphere with freshly baked warm rolls and croissants. Location pretty good, not far from the Voorstraat which runs all the way through the center. Our room was in a new building in the middle of the garden (very quiet and far from the main street).

Review 81:A well-run hotel. Everything was good, with nothing bad to say.

Review 82:Fantastic location, very close to the old city centre which is very, very beutiful.
