Set right on the Shirahama Beach of Izu Peninsula, Shimoda Prince Hotel offers an ocean view from every room. Guests can take the free shuttle bus from Izukyushimoda Train Station, or take a 10-minute taxi ride to the hotel.

Review 1：The meal options at the hotel were expensive. I thought we reserved a double room but it was a twin.
Review 2：old but clean. Rooms were very big. Direct access to the beach and it was free to borrow a towel. There was a little bar on the beach.
Review 3：no early shuttle bus pickup for guests arriving before 3pm as I arrived at shimoda eki about 1pm
Review 4：ocean view was great arrived about 1:30pm and was able to leave luggage in cloak room til I checked in about 5pm buffet breakfast was pretty good shuttle bus to train station at 9:30 was very convenient
Review 5：Restaurant areas very difficult to access in a wheelchair--the staff were most helpful in lifting it & leading us through the kitchens to get there, but its design is bad.

Review 7：Hotel hasn't been refurbished and feels well past its prime. Very poor mobile reception in room (AU & Softbank). Inflexible policy on late check-out request despite low occupancy. On site food options expensive for what you get.

Review 10：Convenient location, direct access to the beach, not far from center of Shimoda. The room was large, tatami aera and different closets helped. very nice view.
Review 11：The facility is old. The room had a dank smell to it (didn't noticeit after spending some time in the room and with balcony doors open)and the air conditioner didn't work that well. The carpet in theroom needs to be replaced (think that will solve the odor problem). Thebeach in front of the hotel was pretty dirty and had a lot of trashlittered all over. Once you passed the line of debris, the beach andwaters were nice.
Review 12：We got the quadruple room and it was perfect for our family of 4. Theview was fantastic and the location of the hotel was great as it wasright on the beach. I would stay here again purely for the location. Thebuffet breakfast was good but pricey. Staff was nice but no one spokeEnglish fluently.
Review 13：Too old. Rusted metal stairs, railings Unsafe looking wooden walkway to beach area. Overgrown landscaping. Small balcony. Too far (20mun drive) from best beach near White Beach hotel.

Review 19：Rooms very dated and poorly furnished. Non-smoking room smelled strongly of tobacco. Went off-season (June) which i do not recommend as most of the facilities are closed, whole floors are closed down, and there is only a skeleton staff on duty.

Review 21：The shuttle bus service is poor - just 2 a day (the rest of the day the bus is waiting around the station and driver is having break - ;)) ). Taxi cost around 2000 JPY but you can not fit with the surf board. Luckily some other hotel give us a lift by their shuttle bus.
