Reviews for Hotel Socaire

Review 1:Huge rooms, with love for details, great location, music for ambiente, awesome feeling - for me the sweetest surprise so far in otherwise rather overprized Mexico

Review 2:No breakfast possible at the hotel

Review 3:Location downtown by the central plaza. Lovely restaurants around. The jacuzzi in the room and very nice swimming pool. The room has a very nice colonial flair with a king size bed.

Review 4:Staff wasn't really helpful or welcoming. We arrived just before 3pm to be told we would have to wait an hour for our room. Eventually they gave us another one but it was on the street side and the neighbour played loud music until 5AM, it was Christmas night..not a great sleep. Finally no breakfast included in the rate but you can get something to eat at the hotel's café.

Review 5:Beautiful hotel in the heart of Campeche. Nice and big room with AC. Pool seems awesome too but we didn't use it.

Review 6:Nothing. The room's safe should be securely bolted somewhere to make it purposeful.

Review 7:This fully-renovated, spacious, historical property has lots architectural charm and is located in a most desirable part of old Campeche, only a block and a half from the Plaza Principal. Its café/restaurant has excellent coffee, breakfasts and light meals. The pool and adjacent space were a delightful oasis. Our standard room (incl. decor, AC, fan, Internet, king-sized bed, bathroom, 5 metre+ ceiling) was very comfortable. Would consider no place other than this delightful boutique hotel upon a return visit.

Review 8:AWe arrived early and reception told us to come back later - no offerr to take our baggage or offer help. The next day our room wasn'nt made up until after 4 pm. At breakfast the last morning our order was mixed up and we didn't get what we ordered.

Review 9:We had to change our room because we found a lot of hair in our bed. Also in the second room the bed wasn't really clean. Too bad, because everything else in the hotel was nice.

Review 10:The hotel is beautifully situated in an old building and looks like it has been recently renovated.

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:At last a 10/10 property! The spacious rooms are ingenious conversions within an old building, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well located within the fantastic historic city centre of Campeche.

Review 13:Staff at the reception does not come across as very polite and welcoming. On the other hand cleaning staff, maintenance staff, cafeteria staff are very nice and polite.

Review 14:Wonderful architecture and decorations. Very clean and well maintained. This is the nicest hotel I've visited so far in Mexico and I've had my fair share.

Review 15:Parking can be quite difficult on the street but there is a public car park just down the road

Review 16:Good location. Nice to have the swimming pool . A little oasis in town! The adjacent café was good for breakfast and does a great coffee. Staff very friendly.

Review 17:The check in time should be at 3pm but my room was ready at 5pm. I got room no. 1next to the reception and the street. So it was to loud. I ask for another one. They said it's not ready now. Of course not. I was waiting till 7pm to get the room. So I got another room with no daylight but at least quit. At the next day the room was not done till 5 pm. The should rally work on the service!

Review 18:The staff should be supplied with maps and the abilty to direct guests. Though we did find better customer service in the cafe. Everyone was friendly though, the air con blasts, and the value was wonderful.

Review 19:The location, the staff in the coffee shop, the poolside service. The decor, the rooms, the air con, the pool! One of the bathrooms was in need of a good tile scrubbling, otherwise spotless.

Review 20:We went to book a taxi for the morning for the bus station the night before - the man told us he would do this but he had not done this when we went to leave and had to wait 15 minutes which left us cutting it short for the bus. Other than this the staff were lovely.

Review 21:The pool was lovely, rooms were nice and big with outside area, very comfortable beds, good wifi and great location close to center.

Review 22:They only have satellite tv so most of it was in spanish with no way of switching it to English. There were no chairs or desk in my room

Review 23:Great location. Beautifully restored building. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Beautiful pool area. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The air conditioning was effective but whisper quiet. The bathroom was huge modem and clean. Loved the toiletries. The whole place is immaculately clean and quiet. Would recommend this place without hesitation

Review 24:This hotel surprised us a lot. It was a charming and beautiful building, that was so well furnished and the rooms were very, very spacious. The bathroom was very modern, pool area idyllic, staff were very helpful, the onsite cafe was great for breakfast or lunch and Campeche was a lovely place to stay. This was the best hotel of our stay in Mexico, and it was one of the cheapest places too.

Review 25:Very beautifully restored building, specious (very high ceilings) and stylishly decorated rooms. Excellent service, even provided mosquito repellent. Small nice pool provides all the refreshment you need.

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:The location is superb, in the centre of the historic town. The staff as so helpful and friendly and the rooms are huge. The pool is a nice way to unwind after a day out in the heat.

Review 28:Beautiful colonial hotel, nice bed(one of the best we've had in two weeks) en comfortable swimming pool. The barista at the coffee bar is an artist!

Review 29:They treated us like family - when I needed to leave my rental car in Campeche for 3 days unexpectedly, they graciously allowed us to use a personal spot in a gated facility, and refused money for it... the owner even drove us their to show us the spot herself. The hotel itself is also amazing - beautiful pool, colonial vibe but with every modern comfort. Couldn't ask for more

Review 30:Wifi didn't work in room, not a big deal though.

Review 31:This was a fabulous hotel and we loved the little touches like the flowers on the towels. The staff spoke very good English, the pool was amazing, breakfast was great. The rooms were large. The location within the old city walls was good and very close to the centre. This was the nicest hotel we've stayed in since arriving in Mexico 2 weeks ago.

Review 32:nothing

Review 33:Great hotel in the centre of Campeche. The hotel is beautifully decorated and so are the rooms. Rooms are also very clean, spacious and with Wi-Fi. There is a beautiful pool available too. I really recommend this hotel, great value for money.

Review 34:it's the kind of place you don't want to leave... relaxing, peaceful, comfortable... right in the old town of Campeche and yet so quiet it felt like I was far from it...

Review 35:Situated within the old city walls of Campeche this small, but charming hotel has all to offer Much time has been given to detail, not the case in many of the hotels we stayed in. The rooms are big enough with high ceilings and some old but nice furniture the breakfast area small but welcoming

Review 36:The night desk person, Priscila, was exceptionally helpful. The hotel is small but quiet, comfortable and with a wonderful pool area. Wifi in every room is strong and reliable, and the staff is cheerful and hard working.

Review 37:Parking in the street a bit difficult. Easy to find a parking lot (Attention to the yellow color on the street - no parking).

Review 38:Room, Location. Really Close to everything.

Review 39:Very noisy, rooms are not isolated from outside. We haven't been able to sleep for hours because someone in the street was listening to music very loudly

Review 40:Location, swimming pool

Review 41:Difficult to access in a wheel chair - a few extra steps. (the same goes for the swimming pool)

Review 42:Situated right in the center of town Free parking on the street Cafe in the hotel Friendly staff who really tried to help out even though they couldn't speak English Nice decor in the hotel

Review 43:Parking is on the street but really not the source of any problem.

Review 44:Staff at the desk spoke three languages, full and perfect politeness and ease. The vastness and quality of the room was not expected, nearly a small studio, with a feeling of soothing class which was charming and welcoming. If you have it, waste time in the pool area for me. Very close to perfection as a High quality hotel for exploration of the city, eating out.

Review 45:Room was on small-side for 3 people.

Review 46:Location is great, lots of things to do and restaurants within easy walking distance. Nice pool, good café on property.

Review 47:Small hotel with nice airy rooms with high ceilings, AC and a bathroom with a great shower. Nice pool with chairs and tables. It´s without breakfast but we had some great and tasty breakfasts in the bar wich was inside the builing. The locotion was perfect, yust in the center.

Review 48:Lighting was a dull at night. Would have like a light near the bed.

Review 49:Beautiful pool area, lots of hot water, spacious room, great location in the heart of the old city.

Review 50:Problems with wifi and room safe on arrival but these were fixed. Campeche is a building site so possibly not a good time to visit!

Review 51:Hotel design, location, room size, room facilities, on site cafe

Review 52:nothing, was just absolutely perfect!

Review 53:Great location, within the old city centre. Very friendly staff, they offered a nice welcoming drink when we arrived. Properly sized pool which was sort of a private pool as nobody else used it. Enormous bed and very spacious shower. Lovely breakfast area (not included) but defintely go there. Best chicken sandwhich ever!

Review 54:The rooms are basic, but clean. Bathroom is tiny, but has everything you need. The hotel has a nice pool and is located right in the city center. The free parking is just parking in the street (we didn't find a parking space immediately), but you can park in front of the hotel for a couple of minutes to drop off your bags.

Review 55:The wifi was working properly in the reception area only

Review 56:The hotel is very good and the room absolutely pleasant. They served us a welcome cocktail and the swimming pool was good as well positioned between old buildings.

Review 57:An excellent clean hotel near the city center. The room is well furnished and comfortable. There is an outdoor pool in the hotel. The Wi-Fi is good.

Review 58:No complaints.

Review 59:Nicely appointed large rooms with high ceilings, luxe beds and bedding and high end bathrooms.

Review 60:It would be amazing if breakfast was included. Otherwise all is perfect and would would recommend to all my friends!

Review 61:Staff were lovely and the rooms were beautiful. Location couldn't be better!

Review 75:Beautiful building lovingly restored to its former glory

Review 76:Wifi was a bit challenging first night

Review 77:Huge rooms, clean, big bathroom

Review 78:Wifi was nothing.

Review 79:Not really bad but the room was dark.

Review 80:All good

Review 81:All was a positive surprise. Worth every penny spent.

Review 82:Beautiful and nice staff

Review 83:It is a small hot with a definite Mexican flair. Courtyard, pool area, staff and location

Review 84:Beautiful place in the heart of the city center, big rooms with high ceiling, staff very friendly and helpful, very nice pool area

Review 99:Everything: room, location, the architecture, the swimming pool, super clean

Review 100:Wife unstable.

Review 101:Excellent location, quiet and close to the city center. Nice pool and pool area.

Review 102:I liked everything about this place. Hope to return.

Review 103:Pool was great! Team very friendly and helpful. Nice and modern rooms, close to the center - a perfect hotel and I enjoyed staying there

Review 104:Perfectly located in the historic part of Campeche, large and quiet rooms, nice pools, good restaurants at a walking distance;

Review 105:Low light in the room

Review 106:Excellent staff and cafe service Location, excellent decor and condition

Review 107:There's no openable window in the room. Shower drainage was slow. No chair in the room so we had to sit on the bed all the time. The price listed in booking.com was converted to the local currency when we checked out. Since we wanted to pay with credit card, the local currency was then converted to my credit card currency again. We ended up paying much more than the price listed in booking.com. I expect to be able to pay the booking.com price in US$ if I choose to pay with credit card but they didn't allow us. Because of this uncertainty of the final price, I won't use booking.com anymore.

Review 108:Lots of storage space (big wardrobe and dresser). Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent location. Staff were helpful.

Review 109:The pool pump was located next to our room and sent loud vibrations through the room until they shut the pump off.

Review 110:Loved the design, the pool area and the location.

Review 111:we were initially given a room with two outsize single beds, where air conditioning, despite being on, was not working properly. We ended up switching rooms at 3am, because of the unbearable heat. The second room, despite being smaller, had working air con and a king size bed. It is a shame we were not offered this room in the first place, especially when it was not possible to open the windows (all windows are blocked as they face an inner courtyard) and air con is much needed in 40 deg C heat. A couple of cockroaches (one in the pool and one immediately at the door steps) led us to believe there was some issue with sewage pipes or general cleanliness. Staff was fairly helpful, but spoke no English.

Review 112:the pool is really nice. The location is also good

Review 113:The lack of shadow at the pool area

Review 114:The lovely place, including the well decorated entrance, the interior courtyard, the rooms and the pool area The kindness of the staff The nice restaurant in the hotel The pool for a refreshment after a busy day

Review 115:The rooms looked onto a central courtyard which was lovely but left the rooms a little dark and you felt people could peek in if the shutters were open. The safe wasn't attached to anything so a would be thief could pick it up and walk off with it if they felt that way inclined. The staff were very polite but would have been great to have had more helpful hints and tips about what to see where. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot outside the hotel but the car park was a short distance away.

Review 116:Great location and large, clean room. Convenient small cafe at the hotel and only a short walk to the central plaza.
