Reviews for Hotel Plaza Colonial
Review 1:...no coffee supplies on premises...most walk to nearby facility.....how difficult to keep a few available at desk...small request with big results from coffee drinkers!!! Young people in general/ cross-cultural these days have (in my opinion) attitudes of indifference.....in your business....this is a deficit. However, young man Quan???..was the exception here....
Review 2:Location/ comfort
Review 3:Restaurant is located in a sister property a few blocks down the road, which may be inconvenient specially for breakfast.
Review 4:Great location within the walled historic town of Campeche with the added bonus of an in-site parking.
Review 5:We have been staying in Plaza Colonial for two nights. The place is of a high standard, very clean and neat. Also the location is good so we definitely recommend it!
Review 6:The staff hadn't reserved our room and we were lucky to get the last one they had available. Reserving through Booking.com should be 100% reliable.
Review 7:Excellent location just a couple of blocks from the central plaza and very comfortable room (we stayed in a Jr. Suite).
Review 8:There did not seem to be any hot water in the shower. There was a brick wall right in front of the window. I mean a few inches away.
Review 9:The secure parking was excellent. The location is right in the old centre. The room was spacious and very clean. Wifi was good.
Review 10:Nothing at all
Review 11:Wonderful hotel, nice, clean, looks freshly renovated, located in the city center. Hotel has a small inner yard where we parked our car without additional fee.
Review 12:The room 607 was fabulous. The size was enormous with three large windows. From two of the Windows we could see the spirals of the cathedral. Beautiful at night and early morning. It was so overwhelmingly hot that we spent more time in the room than we normally would have so it was especially wonderful to have a sitting area in the room. Very few of the other rooms offered this feature. Most of the people staying here were on a tour so it probably didn't matter. Sister hotel across the street has more amenities and food. Staff was wonderful too. Hotel centrally located in historic center.
Review 13:The girl on reception wasn't really friendly and she was chewing a gum during all our stay... The swimming pool is too small and being closed too early.
Review 14:The hotel is located in old colonial building. It has great exterior and interior. The rooms are clean and big. Location is great. Private parking. Wallmart is just 15 minutes walk.
Review 15:We had the impression that not all the staff spoke a fluent English Small swimming pool
Review 16:Clean room with comfortable beds Central - free parking included!
Review 17:rooms incredibly stuffy the air con was not adjustable and did not work properly. There was no room service or restaurant as promised.
Review 18:very clean, great location lovely staff
Review 19:The first room I was offered had no window, fortunately I could switch but only to a room with a smaller bed. (They do have rooms with windows, so make sure you ask for one with windows...) The rooms are not very well soundproofed (neither the door, nor the window looking onto the parking garage). The hotel uses the restaurant of its sister property (Hotel Plaza Campeche) accross the street, when it is raining there is no room service. Staying at their sister hotel could be a good option.
Review 20:The location is great, only a few blocks from the city centre; the staff was very helpful. The pool was nice. Great bathroom, with a real bathtub.
Review 21:none.
Review 22:I have stayed also in the sister hotel just outside the walls, but I think I prefer this Plaza Colonial, as a smaller, more intimate hotel. The staff are very attentive, full of smiles and fun, and the 'secret' pool is wonderful on hot days.
Review 23:There is no common area, nor a lobby to sit, nor a bar/restaurant. The only common area -pool- closes at 9 pm, so you are stuck in the room in the evenings
Review 24:The location is perfect, only a few minutes from the central square. The rooms were very clean and spacious. A/C and internet worked very well
Review 25:Weird smell in lobby. No shade around pool area
Review 26:I had a fantastic king suite. It was huge and on the top floor. Lovely views of the cathedral, really light and sunny. Very spacious. Coffee making machine (although no cups or coffee, but luckily I travel with my own!). Central location.
Review 27:Our room was very small with only a double bed and our view was of the parking lot. Granted, we paid less but friends that paid an equal amount had 2 beds but the important part was the size of their room. Frankly, I'm of the mind that front desk staff should be finding the best room in the price class without clients having to request that. Perhaps we could have requested a new room but deemed it to be too much trouble. We jad plans to be out of the room most of the time anyway and elected to keep the room.
Review 28:The location, decor, cleanliness, and staff were all excellent. We were weĺ attended to.
Review 29:Though we booked the suite months in advance, on the first of our 2 nights stay they gave us a room with two beds and a wall view...what a shame for what you pay! At least, for the second night they moved us to a (king size bed, as we requested on the booking) suite with a lovely view.
Review 30:The hotel is in a colonial style building, just three blocks away the Cathedral. You can park the car in the lot inside the hotel area. The rooms should be renovated. We have had a mixed impression about the personnel. Breakfast was not included.
Review 31:Our second floor room had a floor to ceiling view of a wall just two feet away! The " pool" was an adjunct to the car park. No comfprtab E lounge the sitting area
Review 32:It was a functional modern business type hotel. Not the colonial style we had hoped for and led to believe it was from the web site.
Review 33:We were a bit confused to find the entrance. The parking is around the corner. Maybe it was because we had a long way that day.
Review 34:We had top floor what might be a good choice because of the traffic. Campeche is great and the hotel super central.
Review 35:Great location, you can walk to everywhere A nice colonial style, romantic balconies Elevator Pleasant staff Safe parking We didn't spend much time in the room and no time by the pool, too busy exploring Campeche
Review 36:for its location, neither facing the sea, nor in the central square, this hotel is not a great value for money. They didn't even give free water bottles or a mini refrigerator in the room, something that nearly all hotels do these days.
Review 37:room was clean, bathroom was clean and had a hairdryer.
Review 38:We stayed in a junior suite. This suite was quite big and nice. There was a big flat screen TV. The air conditioning made some weird noises, but worked well. The location was very good. It was 5 minute walk to the Malecon. If you want to go for a run, there is a great, 6 km long, running track along the seaside. Wifi worked well. It was disconnected for a while, but that was a problem of the supplier and not of the hotel. The day we left, the hotel called a taxi for us.
Review 39:It wasn't immediately obvious that this property was related to the parent hotel across the street -- which is a shame because getting a good breakfast there was a plus.
Review 40:Located near the town center. Rooms were clean and tidy. Small but refreshing pool. The parent hotel is just across the street, where all the tourbusses are accommodated, and there's a good restaurant for breakfast.
Review 41:We travelled with another couple and they had a very large beautiful room. We get the room at the end of the corridor and those are the half of the sie and don't have windows!! Therefor i would recommend, to check the room before you check in as the price is the same as for the large room. For us it did not made a big deal as we only stayed one night. But i believe, that those rooms should be bit cheaper.
Review 42:Spotless clean!! Free WLAN. Large rooms. Perfect location in the heart of the city. Own park spaces.
Review 43:the street is very noisy, despite asking for a quiet room we heard the street noise + noise from the airconditioning somewhere behind the wall (all night long) + the air conditioning in the room was old and supernoisy, the only "difference" was that we did not have any view - there was a wall approx. 30 cm from our window...
Review 44:the hotel was clean, close to the centre
Review 45:Air con crazy at the reception and also difficult to manage in the room, fan wasn't working. Room at the first floor is quite noisy because of the aircon generator in the courtyard. No power points close to the bed
Review 46:Good position, competitive price Overall good stay, parking inside. We didn't have breakfast included so we didn't differenza the fact that there wasn't the bar/restaurant
Review 47:The staff didn't speak english. The sights from our room was bad because we looked at a wall 500 cm from the window. We didn't't care because we stayed just for one night.
Review 48:The hotel is well located and the staff was friendly and helpfull. Price/quality is good.
Review 49:the swimming pool didn't look very clean.
Review 50:The decoration of the hotel, the staff, the size of the room and location.
Review 51:In-room internet on and off. No restaurant.
Review 52:Clearly the best hotel in town. Beautiful colonial house, tastefully appointed.
Review 53:Location, price is excellent. The staff is very attentive. Our stay at Plaza Colonial was excellent.
Review 54:Good location in the middle of the hostoric center.Clean and spacious.

Review 68:Friendly staff Near from zocalo
Review 69:No options for breakfast, but I can live with that :)
Review 70:Great location, good quality, affordable price, nice personnel - definitely nice place to stay.
Review 71:No breakfast in the hotel ( only in you go to the associated Hotel)

Review 78:niente da segnalare
Review 79:posizione centrale, ottime camere, pulizia, staff
Review 80:No breakfast, little communal areas
Review 81:Great location, nice pool.
Review 82:Convenient to historic sites and excellent restaurants
Review 83:The hotel is in a very good place, clean and comportable. The center ca be reached in few minutes walk.
Review 84:The position, only 2 minutes walk to the cathedral square. Huge room and en suite in immaculate condition.
Review 85:Hard beds
Review 86:The lobby
Review 87:Nothing in particular
Review 88:Location, good room with nice bathroom with bathtub. Good value for money
Review 89:parking was excellent and staff were good,
Review 90:Some rooms have a blind window. Restaurant in the sister hotel is terrible.
Review 91:Large clean rooms, nice staff.
Review 92:Location, room very clean and perfect support from personel.
Review 93:The Matress
Review 94:Location and Clean
Review 95:Low ceilings for a gringo
Review 96:Location
Review 97:View through the window was of a wall
Review 98:Huge comfortable bed
Review 99:Staff does not really speak english, is not really friendly. Safe in the room was out of order. Air condition did not really work and was pretty noisy. Breakfast was not included in this pricey offer.
Review 100:Nice colonial style house with typical small balconies. Very well located in the old town. Beautiful places, restaurants and shops nearby.
Review 101:Pillows too hard. Had to put the head between 2 pillows! Staff could be more friendly and helpful
Review 102:Location and facilities nearby (restaurants, shops and old town). Hotel is to modern standards.
Review 103:After making my booking using your service, my credit card was used for multiple unauthorized transactions. the booking transaction was the only transaction in which I had used my credit card during the past two weeks, so somebody got my credit card information when I used it for booking through booking.com
Review 104:The new web system for use de Wi-fi is not very practical, specially if you want to use it in your smartphone.
Review 105:is a nice and confortable hotel with a good location.
Review 106:The description and reviews made it seem like this might be inferiorsomewhat to its sister hotel. It lacks the restaurant, but it is a veryhigh quality hotel. It would have been out of our budget without thegood price on booking.com! Parking is right at the hotel.
Review 107:We booked the hotel through the iphone app - as we did several times before. This is the first hotel, which didn't accept the app confirmation/ passbook screen. We had to go for ourselfs to get a printout (!) of the confirmation email. :( As the conversation between the receptionist and the bellboy was making me suspicious (I only speak very little spanish) I had them show us the room first. It was disgusting. Stinking and there was a wall 20cm in front of the window! Another booking.com client also describes this room - it seems to be a bad joke of the hotel staff. As we didn't accept the room we where shown a perfectly fine room which also reflects the pictures on booking.com without any hassle. So be warned and don't accept the 'fools-room''!
Review 108:Great location in the city, good Wifi reception, secure parking, clean rooms
Review 109:Some of the reception staff seemed cold and disinterested. Porters very helpful though. Expensive, and the window in our room looked at a wall less than a metre away. May as well not have a window there.
Review 110:Exceptionally clean and very well presented. Location was fantastic.
Review 111:Paid extra for a suite to get a coffee maker but there are no cups, no coffee and no filters! Had to go to another location to buy a morning coffee.
Review 112:Great location, parking, very clean, good wifi
Review 113:As other people have noted, the bathtub doesn't actually plug, which is bizarre. It seems like such a small thing for the hotel to fix. I had a problem with my rental car while staying here, and I had to use the front desk's phone, leaning over the counter, and pay 10 pesos per call. I think local calls should be free, and the phone in the room should work. But most travelers probably won't have any need for a phone. I will say the rooms aren't nearly as nice as the front desk. But you do feel very fancy walking into that lobby!
Review 114:The hotel lobby was beautiful. The room was big, and the parking was free and safe. The room had a little balcony. The location was very good, and the hotel generally fancy.
Review 115:somewhat run down, though there seem to be other, better rooms. if you are in the center track, it might be noisy from people in the adjacent court.
Review 116:location is okay and easily found if you arrive by your own car. clean room.
Review 117:Unfortunately the bed was very hard, as well as being small. We had a smoking room, I am not sure if any are non-smoking.
Review 118:The location was excellent. The shower was a treat, as there was lots of water pressure. Parking lot for the vehicle was adjacent to the hotel and secure. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean and well-maintained. Wi-Fi connection was excellent.
Review 119:Nice location at the Northern end of downtown, including private parking, combining easy access by car with perfect location for walking the city. Pool was not overly large but nice, on top of wifi there was a pleasant business center with two computer terminals for free guest use
Review 120:Grim and inadequate 'energy-saving' lighting spoiled the character of the room, in common with many hotels we stayed at in Mexico. Car park entrance in side street hard to find.
Review 121:Central location in vibrant colonial city. Huge room and bathroom. Good breakfast at related hotel diagonally across the street. Convenient parking in private courtyard behind hotel.
Review 122:cab charged my local friends one fee and when I went to take a cab on another occasion they charged more.
Review 123:The hotel was centrally located to the sights, a variety of good restaurants were all within walking distance.
Review 124:The view from the room was not the best (car park and grey walls). There was a quite noisy air conditioning just outside our window.
Review 125:It's a barely new luxury hotel. Our junior suite was great. Great position, 2 minutes walking from the central plaza. Breakfast was great and even if not include in room rate, had a reasonable price
Review 126:As the hotel wasn't fully booked, we were offered an upgraded suite with the best view of the hotel. Free secure parking. Friendly helpful staff. Honest deal!
Review 127:Seriously I can't think of anything.
Review 128:Beautiful building, clean rooms, nice pool, super good bathrooms, big comfortable beds. Very good parking facilities. Excellent location.
