Reviews for Vernazza Holiday
Review 1:Can be noisy because of the proximity to the train station. Toilet seat cover was loose. Need better maintenance.
Review 2:Right by the train station-convenient location. Clean and safe. Friendly staff.
Review 3:Very unclean, beds look really dirty and bad when lifting bedsheets. Did not want to touch coffee cups. Walls were really dirty. Very noisy as you hear train station announcements and trains passing by. Train literally runs behind the window. The owner did not give any checks about us staying there and did not make any copies of our documents.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Booked at same day. Wow. Easy to find. Close to train. big, shared bathroom. Great because "inside" is not the place to be when in this lovely village.
Review 6:If you arrive early and the owner is not in her own shop or the shop isn’t open yet, it's difficult for tourists as there aren’t any internet access or phone signal to contact the owner!! So you have to bring your luggage with you until they are open. And in the hotel the stairs were very narrow,so if you have large bags, it will be difficult to go up and down the stairs! Also about the bathroom, the shower was in a very poor condition, clogged pipes caused water coming back up and flooding the entire bathroom
Review 7:The location and the WiFi it's good!
Review 8:Definitely for young peeps who have no expectations of comfort, etc and are just looking for something cheap. Steps that lead to all of the rooms are very narrow and dangerous. Definitely not good for older people. Internet connection barely excited.
Review 9:Perfect location right by the train.
Review 10:Ants in the room; members of staff taking furniture from the room without any previous notice; room very close to train station (basically AT the station); very loud neighbours leaving their stuff in the shared bathroom.
Review 11:Good wi-fi connection.
Review 12:Room didn't have air conditioning so it was very hot at night. We couldn't open the window because the trains were very loud.
Review 13:Perfect location - right next to the train station and all restaurants! Really good room for the price we paid as well - it was big and comfortable and suited us perfectly.
Review 14:Really basic apartment and appliances inside, they need to make a renovation because it looks like it is falling apartment and update their appliances. The trains are really loud, it gets tolerable when you close the windows but it also gets really hot, the only solution i can think of is to put an airconditioner inside so you dont get too hot when you close all the windows at night to not hear the passing trains.
Review 15:It is literally just outside the train station, Vernazza is really beautiful this apartment has a balcony where you can admire the passing trains and the sceneries of Vernazza.
Review 16:A LOT of stairs, typical in cinque terre thou so not surprising. The bathroom was in a different room to the bedroom, so we had to go out to hallway to get to the toilet. As listed no air conditioning and being on the top floor it is exceptionally hot, leaving the windows open means listening to the trains scream past, the fan didn't really cut it.
Review 17:Location both extremely handy and noisy due to its location to the train station, you are pretty much eye level with the tracks. Strong wifi. Good shower. Nice balcony.
Review 18:Had trouble with the checkout (9:30-10:30 and nobody was there at 9:45). Maybe too close to train station; it might bother certain people to hear the trains as much.
Review 19:Closeness to everything (as expected)
Review 20:We checked in and there was mold on the wall of our room and the fan was broken. I told the lady and she tried to convince me that mold wasn't bad for my health. She kept saying that there was nothing else available tonight. She got us a new fan and say she would try to get the smell out while we enjoyed the beach and when we returned to pay she cancelled our reservation with booking and said she did it to avoid the fee they charge so we didn't have to pay as much then she bought us a bottle of wine saying its only one night and we should be find even though there is mold in the room. That night the power kept going out and it was getting extremely hot. I didn't really mind the shared bathroom besides people at the train station could see into the bathroom from the platform. Never again....
Review 21:I like the location. The staff was nice.
Review 22:The property does not have AC which was a problem in hot day we were in. It was cool outside, but if we opened windows, the nearby passing trains felt as passing just under my bed. Hence, we had to close windows and it was quite uncomfortable. The apartment was on the 3rd floor, last one, and it was getting very hot from direct sun. To cool of, it took several hours.
Review 23:Location is great, not far from main trails and city center. The owner speaks English and tried to be helpful. She had a problem with plumbing, so the check in was postponed until 18:00. The make up was the bottle of local vine with some cookies. Apartment has balcony with chairs and table. Good place to relax after long walk.
Review 24:We had to wait 1.5 hours after the check in time to be met and actually check in. The room had hands down the worst beds I have ever paid money to sleep in. The twin bed and one half of the queen were basically like laying on a pile of springs. The other half of the queen bed was a new memory foam mattress that was fine. The mattresses and the beds were so bad I actually put the mattress on the floor to sleep on. The apartment is located directly on top of the train station and the noise from constantly passing trains is very loud. With the windows closed you don't notice the train that much, but then it gets way too hot and stuffy in the room as there is no other ventilation
Review 25:The internet worked well The apartment is located in Vernazza
Review 26:we knew what we were renting, and enjoyed the extra room and balcony but the 4 flights of narrow stairs got very old. This is no more than 50 feet from the railroad station, and they have replaced the cute, narrow guage rr with major tracks that in spite of the tourist trains about every 20 minutes carry major fast freight trains all night and frequently during the day too.
Review 27:in spite of what Rick Steves writes, even in October it was packed from 10am to 6 pm with tourists. Stay in one of the beach cities and just tour the towns on the train. Its Disneyesque anyway. The Amore trail is closed, and has been for a couple of years due to slides. The old people who used to be in CT have mostly died, and the young ones don't want jobs fishing in the depleted Mediterranean so have moved. Most of those cute old buildings have been reconstructed with accomodations for tourists.
Review 28:Some basic toiletries may have been handy.
Review 29:Very central location. Very close to train line but we knew that when we booked and were expecting some station noise.
Review 30:Proximity to the train station also means noise. Bathroom is shared. Room is quite small.
Review 31:The location was convenient (a few steps from the train station) - but that may also be a negative aspect. The staff was nice.
Review 32:Steep stairs to the apartment.
Review 33:The staff were so lovely and accomodating. I was with two friends and we stayed in the apartment with the balcony! Yes you are right next to the train station and the trains can be loud but at night with the doors closed you barely hear them. Kitchen was good we had bacon and eggs every morningä We loved our stay and would stay again! Catie joel lauren
Review 34:Very close to railway station so could be a bit noisy. Double glazed windows helped subdue the noise when closed.
Review 35:Staff were friendly and helpful. Accommodation was basic but clean and value for money for the location. Loved the village of Vernazza.
Review 36:The location is literally right next to the train tracks/station in Vernazza. trains were very loud and ran throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper, you will have problems getting a good nights sleep.
Review 37:Was a good convenient location, staff was very friendly, good value.
Review 38:Room was spacious, clean Close to the train station, but it was not noisey when window was closed We never had problems with the hot water. It was a little bit hard to find, so when you get off the train you leave the station and head to the sea, it is the first building on the right side (via roma is the main street) just next to the station, green door and red building. There's no door bell, so you have to call a number on arrival.
Review 39:-proximity to the train station- we were basically on the platform; noisy -towels- given old beach towels to use for showering -not as clean as it could have been -walk up 3 flights of narrow stairs
Review 40:-authentic apartment experience in a small seaside village -balcony
Review 41:Some noise from the train station, but with windows closed this was greatly reduced
Review 42:The rooms are located directly next to the train station - which is great if you have bags and don't want to carry them through the streets though it is noisy when the windows are open. However, with the windows closed (and there are fans in the rooms) the noise didn't bother us. Vernazza is one of the most picturesque villages in the cinque terre, and has nice places to swim. We walked between all of the towns, and Vernazza was our favourite. Highly recommend! We were met on arrival by Ayat, who explained what there was to do around Vernazza, gave us the Wifi code and said we could leave our bags for the afternoon after we checked out. She spoke Italian and English and maybe more! The rooms are located on the third floor, so you have to walk up some stairs, but this is almost compulsory in the cinque terre! There are two rooms on this floor, both with a double bed and possible single trundle. Also on the floor is a big bathroom which is shared and was no problem. Wifi connection was good. Highly recommend this place!
Review 43:I didn't like that every night, you could hear the trains pass. They were so loud that if your windows were open, you would most definitely be woken up. I also didn't like that the shower was close to unusable. There was also close to no hospitality at this hostel.
Review 44:The location.
Review 45:Beds ok but a little thin .
Review 46:My room was on the top floor and had a balcony which granted mr evening and morning access. be aware lots of stairs.
Review 47:Trains quite noisy through the night Wi-Fi not available
Review 48:Friendly owner Convenient for train station
Review 49:Price was a little steep
Review 50:Great location but it is right above a noisey bar.
Review 51:Very close to the train station which is great for short stays
Review 52:The hotel touches the train station so you will wake up all night long with the building shaking.
Review 53:Room is bland and infested with ants
Review 54:One of the best lands in Cinque Terre
Review 55:The room is not very clean and it has a moldy smell...
Review 56:The location is very close to the station so it's convenient.
Review 57:The bad news - it's right next to the train station. Bring ear plugs.
Review 58:The good news - it's right next to the train station. Very convenient.
Review 59:Kitchen had few utilities and equipment, only one light in the bedroom.
Review 60:Location, friendly host
Review 61:Best staff and great location!!
Review 62:Close to the train station so you could hear the trains going past Had to share a bathroom
Review 63:Great Location Clean Large Rooms Friendly Staff
Review 64:in one of the 5 cities that make up cinque terra very close to train station
Review 65:Staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating for late arrivals and easy check outs.
Review 66:Too close to railway line; very frequent trains! No daily towel change.
Review 67:Make sure you have shower early as hot water does not last for long. Was difficult to locate initially as the door is not numbered with the street number. It is the green door to the right of the café.
Review 68:Price, location (you are staying in paradise)
Review 69:It was nice, clean, and right in town. Not a hotel per se, just a couple of rooms, but it was perfect for my visit! It is adjacent to the train tracks, but I had no trouble sleeping at night
Review 70:Excellent location, although a little noisy from the trains at times, lady was helpful and nice, good sized room, only problem was shower was slow to drain.
Review 71:Hot water didn't work on first day but was working by the evening. Kitchen area looked a bit tired.
Review 72:Nice terrace Spacious room Fantastic location in Vernazza
Review 73:Shower didn't work. The door handle didn't work, fell off. It was a shared bathroom. The breakfast was very basic. There are glass doors which means there's not a huge amount of privacy.
Review 74:Excellent location. Easy to find. The price was good for the area. Right beside the train station.
Review 75:Many steep steps to the room
Review 76:Nice location Spacious
Review 77:The innkeeper went out of her way to wait for a very late arrival. The staff here really cares about the guests!
Review 78:Everything was ok. Cinque terre is amazing no matter where you stay :)
Review 79:The housekeeper can not speak English. There is not enough hot water.
Review 80:Right next to the train station. Convenient.
Review 81:Excellent location, although a little noisy from the trains at times, the lady we met there was very nice and helpful
