Reviews for Hotel Plaza Campeche
Review 1:Totally clean and modern, large hotel, centrally located, great parking, attentive and accommodating staff, Mexican hospitality at it's best, amazing value.
Review 2:The dining room was kept too cold for my taste. I went out for breakfast after the first day.
Review 3:Modern facility with a bit of old world charm only three blocks from the main square of this lovely little city.
Review 4:The most unfriendly service we experienced during our trip in Yucatan. The furniture was very old and even though we booked a suite the room was really small. The internet connection was far away from being perfect and the so called pool a joke between parking lot and the restaurant.
Review 5:The property needs a .little tender loving care.
Review 6:Great ovation for visiting Historic Merida. Turn of the century, 1900, and elegant in 1900. Somewhat faded, but still a Grand Dame of Hotels. We stayed her 30 years ago and will come again
Review 7:en la reservacion de booking, comentaba que los impuestos ya estaban incluidos y al llegar al hotel y hacer el cargo, cobraron de nuevo los impuestos.
Review 8:la ubicación y la amabilidad del personal
Review 9:No internet in the room. Tiny pool. Power was off for hours, so no AC or even fan. A hotel of this standard should have its own backup power supply.
Review 10:Big cool and spacious foyer. Clean and spacious room. Helpful reception staff.
Review 11:Absolutely no faults.
Review 12:Not the cheapest but certainly worth the money. Secure car parking was important for us and you could not better the location to explore the historic centre. As you would expect everything worked and cleanliness was unbelievable.
Review 13:The standard room had two beds?! So we had to take a suite to get one kingsize bed, and pay the difference... Very small swimming pool, don't expect to use it. Plus the wifi connexion didn't work very well in the bedroom, and the air cooler was incredibly noisy.
Review 14:Excellent situation to discover the city
Review 15:The staff in the front desk can be very unhelpful and even rude. I had a very bad experience regarding my reservations as they apply different policies to their convenience. When asked about it, a very rude lady in front desk said she applies the reservation policies as she likes. She later was changed for someone friendly but was a tough start in our stay.
Review 16:The food and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant is good. The waiters are nice and friendly. Location is good.
Review 17:The staff is not great. I had to request 4 times for a towel to be sent to my room. The front desk constantly forgot what requested and needed for repetition to make things happen.
Review 18:The location is good and restaurant is nice. The breakfast buffet is good. Location is good.
Review 19:When we arrived at the hotel after a ten hour drive and requested a room with a queen or king bed instead of two standard beds the confusion began. They didn't ever say whether they had queen beds available and said that we would have to take a Junior Suite. After 45 minutes of asking if anyone on staff spoke English it became apparent that no one did and. Worn out by the inability to have anyone explain what was available we acquiesced and took the Junior Suite and signed a credit card statement for an increased room rate for the three day stay. We paid all other charges as incurred but we were charged another one thousand plus pesos when we checked out. An altogether bad experience on an otherwise great trip.
Review 20:A very functional, nice and well located hotel, with spacey and comfortable rooms. The doorman Ioni was of great help. Campeche old center is a gem and champechanos very warmhearted people. Our tip: if you like to try local food, go to the neighbouring Portales San Martin and eat at Las Mañanitas - caldo de pavo, sincronizadas e panucho de pavo, torts de jámon claveteado!
Review 21:As the hotel is located on major roads the rooms are very noisy in the evening and early in the morning.
Review 22:Very convenient location for the historic town centre, only an easy walk away. Very clean, comfortable room, pleasant pool area, pool is however more ornamental rather than for swimming.
Review 23:Bed was comfortable but pillows were incredibly lumpy with hard "balls".
Review 24:The waiters were very friendly and patient with our special requests.
Review 25:Staff had very little English. Coffee maker in the room with no cups or coffee. Why?
Review 26:Location was good. Room 235 was on the 1st floor. The room was huge, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was not included but we did have it 1 day and it was fine. Would recommend and stay here again in this beautiful town
Review 27:The double room means that you will never get a one king size bed - only two queens. The king size bed is a privilege of a suite. The pillows we've got on a first night were terrible. However they have changed them upon request. The swimming pool is so tiny - 2 m x3 m - that even babies don't consider it as a place for swimming. The wifi is very slow.
Review 28:Great location - two minutes walk to the main square, cafes and restaurants. Parking for clients - it's difficult to park a car in the center because the streets are narrow.
Review 29:It is located in one of Campeche's main avenues so the rooms can be very noisy at night. The pool is very small.
Review 30:Location is perfect to walk to Campeche's main sights. The hotel has its own parking lot (not so common in town) so it's a good option if you're traveling by car.
Review 31:We decided to change hotels after one night as it was noisy and busy in that area. We agreed to pay the published cancellation fee of one night and asked for the credit of 4 nights, 4979.13 pesos, to be credited to my VISA card. They professed ignorance of how to do that!!!! They wanted to transfer the money to my bank account by wire transfer so I gave them the information, all the while expressing doubt that they could not credit my VISA card. I had had various other credits put on my card in Mexico and even in Campeche, but this 4 star hotel they denied any ability to do so. I called out the general manager, Vanessa Arceo Otal, and she also denied the ability to process and simple VISA credit. By this point we were sufficiently irritated that we took the receipts and left. That was on December 3, 2014 and it is now Dec 30 and no credits have appeared in my bank accounts. I will followup but surely this is disgraceful.
Review 32:The hotel was modern and suitable for business people but not as much for tourists. It was clean, up to date and the food was good although breakfast was not included.
Review 33:The room had a slight smell but was very clean.
Review 34:The Staff was very nice and helpfull. The took the time to suggest resturants and help with taxi arrangements.
Review 35:When we arrived the hotelier wanted to extra charge something for the room because the Junior Suite is only for 2 adults + 2 kids. But according the website its for 3 adults as well - after arguing a bit he was fine with it... The pool is not as big as in the picture!
Review 36:The rooms was close to a main street and noise started early in the morning.
Review 37:Great Location in the center of Campeche, free parking, rooms had all amenities.
Review 38:Noisy street, semi-friendly staff at reception.
Review 39:You can't order alcoholic drinks from the room service after 01:00 Why?
Review 40:Beds are short!

Review 89:Room was not ready on time
Review 90:Service was great Rooms clean
Review 91:The bed was hard.
Review 92:The hotel is very nice with a really nice restaurant and very helpful staff.
Review 93:Good quality and very professional service in a beautiful colonial style property. The hotel is just on the outside of the old city but within minutes of the cathedral square and it manages to have classic feel but also modern touches. We arrived late after a long bus ride and the reception had everything ready and lined up to make sure the check in would go as quickly as possible, a very nice touch !
Review 94:Set menus for breakfast are a bit inflexible.
Review 95:Clean comfortable rooms, Wifi worked well, even at the far end of the hotel from the reception. Sited between Historic Centre and modern shopping with private car park.
Review 96:As room was booked 15 minutes before arrival, they could not found reservation in there system. I was asked to go and print confirmation to be able to check in.
Review 97:The rooms located on the street side are very noisy, we had to ask next day for another room.
Review 98:Excellent location and even though the first room was located on the street side and very noisy the personnel was very helpful giving us a more quiet room the next day.
Review 99:The reception staff is not very efficient and hardly speaks English. We booked a room for 3, and like in many hotels the third bed was not great (small) and the room was not prepared for 3 (only 2 towels and water botlles). In this hotel it took many calls to the reception to solve this last problem.
Review 100:Great location (easy to reach and close to centre) and excellent restaurant (try the local fish specialities). Rooms are OK, but nothing special. In general good value for money.
Review 101:I can almost say only good things about this hotel. It was clean, good food, centrally located, large room and certainly good value. Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only criticism I can have is that the swimming-pool is very small. But would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 102:A minor comment, the swimming pool is very small but still quite enjoyable afternoon a long day walking around in Campeche!
Review 103:Very very nice hotel, nice comfortable rooms with all the services you can expect from a 4 star hotel. Friendly staff, excellent location in the center of Campeche, definitely our favorite hotel during our stay in Yucatan (2 weeks)
Review 104:We were very surprised with how good this restaurant was, especially for the price. We even checked with the receptionist that it was the right hotel. Big, clean, modern rooms with excellent room service food. Excellent!!
Review 105:room a little bit to small for 4 persons, but it is OK for one night's stay

Review 109:Breakfast on first morning was good but second morning was poor-no plates, had to eat off serviettes.
Review 110:Very comfortable and good central location. Nice to have a bath as well as a shower.
Review 111:Location. We walked to all our events. Food was good everywhere we went. Bacon at hotel was scrumptious.
Review 112:Minor inconvenience of having to pay for drinks at the bar and not being able to charge them to the room.
Review 113:Good location near old centre.
Review 114:Reservations department is closed on Sundays, which means they may not have your online booking. This is stressful.
