Located right in front of Shirahama Beach, Hotel Izukyu offers indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Guests can enjoy massages and facial treatments at BeJewel salon or request for diving lessons at the Dragon Lady diving shop. A free shuttle is available from Izukyu Shimoda Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas.
The air-conditioned rooms come with a TV and Japanese Yukata robes for all guests. You can choose to stay in rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or in rooms with carpeted floors and Western beds. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer.
A coin-launderette is on-site and guests can purchase local goods at the souvenir shop. Karaoke and table tennis can be enjoyed as well. Luggage storage is offered at the 24-hour front desk. Fresh local seaweed and dried fish can be purchased at the hotel’s daily morning market.

Reviews for Hotel Izukyu

Review 1：Ofuro is closed from 10-3 which is very inconvenient if you want to bathe after the pool. The shower place near pool area is open and does not have any soap etc.

Review 2：We went with our 2 year old son and he enjoyed the beach and the pool a lot . The pool water was very cold though, would be nice if they can maintain the temperature . View from the room is excellent and very relaxing. Tips: there is a cafe just 2 min walk where you can get some good pizza or curry rice if you won't opt for japanese dinner at the hotel. There is also 7-11 combini within 2 min walk where you can grab some bento and sit by the pool side. ( pool are can be used after the check out for the whole day)

Review 3：If you cannot handle a staff that does not speak English, this can be an issue. Bed is not set-up until 6pm.

Review 5：The outdoor pool is only open from July to September. Thats the only pity I had in this trip.

Review 6：Excellent service staffs. Really top class service attitudes. Even with some language barriers, everyone in the hotel will try their best to help us out. Shirahama beach is just right opposite the hotel. Real beautiful view. Free hotel shuttle bus is available, thus transport is not a problem. Can also take bus from shirahama bus stop to the station. Food is top class as well. Do try out their milk pudding dessert!
