Reviews for Hotel Emma
Review 1:very good and warm reception. very good located in Villabassa, 200 meter from the train station. 18 euro for a fix dinner menu, excellent breakfast, large and cozy rooms. no free wifi at the room but yes at the lobby
Review 2:The only downside really is that the wifi (which is free) is only available in the public spaces, not in the rooms. Luckily, we had a couch and comfy chairs just outside our room where we sat to do email and such. Also, while the staff was very friendly, not all spoke English.
Review 3:We loved the ambiance of the hotel itself, with its bright yellow facade and spiral central staircase (note: there is no elevator, and the carpet on the stairs is a little worn). Our room (we upgraded for a small price increase) had two firm, comfy twin beds pushed together, good reading lamps, wooden floors (which we like), a small table and 2 chairs, roomy closet, and nicely appointed bathroom. The breakfast room is delightful, and the food choices outstanding: four types of croissants, hearty breads, homemade jams, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses, and a boil-your-own machine for the free-range eggs! Also, the waiter makes your espresso or Americano coffee to order. We found Villabassa to be a delightful village to explore (with a woodsy walking path along the river and a fun interactive park) and a good base for day hikes in the Cortina area. We ate dinner in the bigger town of San Candido and at the hotel across the street. We only ate breakfasts at the Hotel Emma.
Review 4:2nd floor room and no elevator. Creaking floorboards and sloping spiral staircase. Description of spa and wellness facilities on website more than a bit misleading. The author of the description must have stayed elsewhere!
