Reviews for Grand Hotel Terme

Review 1:My bathtub wouldn't drain. They offered to move me...but I didn't want to make the effort so I put up with the tub.

Review 2:Luxary Hotel. Wonderful amenities. Great staff.

Review 3:Very, very old for the price they charge, does not worth the money at all. The lobby and the rooms cry for renovation. The design of the hotel itself, the rooms and facilities is outdated.

Review 4:Location

Review 5:Lovely facility only steps away from the adorable island medieval fortress village, complete with a castle & 2000 year old Roman ruins (INCREDIBLE). The accommodations were terrific with starched, ironed linen bedding, classy, amenities and in house thermal spa (100degrees) accessible totally from inside the hotel by way of the "relaxing room" near a modest but adequate gym. The views from everywhere were spectacular, especially from the breakfast room where the yummy buffet breakfast left nothing to be requested, even morning Prosecco. The staff was professional, well informed, friendly & helpful. There is a taxi stand at the hotel for access to the train station. A definite repeat.

Review 6:Food terrible and cold staff. Would not book train for us for our onward journey. Charged for extras eg fried eggs at breakfast we would never consider returning here.

Review 7:Location and

Review 8:The staff was excellent. I accidentally booked the room for one instead of two people. The first night was rough in a single room. The next day they moved us to a beautiful room with a reasonable increase in the charge

Review 9:The hallway gives you a very "Grand Hotel Budapest" feeling, empty sanatorium like walls, a bit creepy in my opinion, and the cracked walls, old furniture, blinds and bathroom fittings really made it look bad. The pictures look great, but once you get there, it's a different story. There was also this mix of luxury and pettiness, like particleboard furniture (I've never seen that in a 5 star hotel before), very low thread count sheets and Piacenza cashmere blankets and marble bathroom. Would never return, the pretentious feeling of the place and the downright ridiculous and unwarranted 350 euros per night sealed the decision for us.

Review 10:The setting is absolutely gorgeous. The sauna/spa area looks great, new, overlooks the lake and the outside pool is very relaxing. Breakfast is also quite nice. You get quite a few free things like cosmetic samples, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Review 11:Restaurant very expensive so we didn't eat there. Free mini bar not replenished as much as we would have liked with water. Slight lack of umbrellas for sun bathing. Charged for room service requesting a bucket of ice.

Review 12:Excellent location in Sirmione. Very comfy huge bed, large room with good view over pool and lake garda.staff very attentive. Good spa area which we used alot.

Review 13:We booked two rooms - one for my son, which smelt damp and the air con was off. We put it on and the damp smell was worse. I suspect it needs cleaning. The towels were thin - external and internal ones. I have had more luxurious 5 start experiences. Breakfast was ok, but eggs often cold and did not get topped up. Bread varieties ran out towards the end of the session (30 mins before0 and not replenishes. Bowls not cleared when coffee brought - attention to detail was poor of a 5 star in my opinion.

Review 14:The location and access to parking was great - The food quality in the restaurant (evening) was fab, but expensive (but clearly in a 5 star that's is expected).

Review 15:Price was very expensive in season & not enough local information. 5 Star should have a dedicated concierge - if the reception staff were supposed to fulfill this service it wasn't obvious.

Review 16:Great location. Live entertainment on certain nights and helpful pool /deck attendants.

Review 17:Only a small thing - Its not really a children orientated hotel (which was fine for us as a couple) and with a recommended limit of 30 minutes pool time (Great Thermal pool) - the children that were there seemed restless and could ruin a relaxing Spa experience (this happened a couple of times but was rectified when mentioned to staff - children are not allowed in the Spa). So in summary excellent hotel and thoroughly recommended but not necessarily if you have young children.

Review 18:Had a great relaxing stay here. All staff were good, the food was good, the breakfast was excellent. Had some great Spa treatments. Outside pool was great.

Review 19:The noise from 6am-9am every morning if you stayed at the front of the hotel. We complained and were told it was the hedge cutter! They were unable to stop this and had written to the Mayor to see if it could be stopped or done much later in the day! This really was an issue for us as we wake every morning at 6am for work and go on holiday for a lie-in. We spoke to someone staying at the back of the hotel and thet were unaware of any noise but these rooms were more expensive. The wi-fi signal was very intermittent too wherever you were in the hotel.

Review 20:The location was great and the bar staff were friendly and efficient.

Review 21:The wifi connection was horrible. The breakfast was a little bit simple for a 5* hotel, the tables are full of sparrows all the time - distasteful. The beach is beautiful, but the lake is not ideal for bathing - it's very deep, full of ducs and the molo is a little bit frightening. But It's perfect for sunbathing. The pool is nice, but such a hot water is not ideal for summer time.

Review 22:Situated perfectly, exactly next to the old town. Very pleasent staff. Comfortable and allways very clean room. The sauna section is beautiful! Marvellous landscape!

Review 23:wished I'd booked a room over looking the lake as would have been a bit quieter, but still wouldn't put me off going again. Wi fi wasn't very good.

Review 24:The best location. Excellent staff. Were there if needed but not in your face. Lovely spa and treatments.

Review 25:The location was a wonderful place to relax but also gave the opportunity to easily access eating places, transport and delicious ice cream. The hotel was a lovely place to spend time and all the staff were very helpful.

Review 26:The only thing we missed was net on the window, the area is full of migids because of the lake, but you still feel like opening your windows wide to enjoy the air. Then you have to choose unfortunately

Review 27:Great and helpful staff, everyone smiling, constantly taking care of your comfort; a pleasant detail was a free minibar and a bottle of sparkling wine together with a fruit plate as a welcome greeting. when booking i asked for a room with good views and a kingsize bed, my request was completely fulfilled. Beautiful spa and thermal pool facilities, great breakfast

Review 28:The hotel is a minute's walk from the bustling old town of Sirmione but beautifully quiet and the lakeside location is just stunning. Swimming in lake Garda, soaking in the hotel's private thermal pool, afternoon tea or cocktails by the lake, all wonderful!

Review 29:Some confusion over the type of room booked, but this was resolved after a couple of nights. If you book a room with a balcony, check the confirmation very carefully!

Review 30:Fantastic position. Attentive service from all departments of the hotel..

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:This hotel is in a lovely location , very central but quiet . We had a suite overlooking the lake . Staff very friendly & nothing was ever too much trouble for them .

Review 33:If we had to nit pick, the food in the restaurant was expensive for what it was.

Review 34:Excellent service throughout the trip, spa facilities were fantastic, location was great, close to town but quiet and fabulous views over the lake. Wonderful breakfast, super comfy beds - expensive but worth it; we would come again.

Review 35:Wi-fi Is Horrible. Cell Service Was Intermittent

Review 36:Location adjacent To Sirmione Without Having To Drive Thru The Tourist Chaos Of The Old town Great Pool And Waterfront Parking...Most Hotels Do Not Have Parking In this Area Friendly Helpful employees

Review 37:Can't complain because of the overall enjoyable accommodation

Review 38:Cleanness of the hotel is impressive in all aspects ,the generousty and hosibitality of the restaurant staff plus the charming view on the lake .

Review 39:The gave me room which is connected to another room by a door , though the door was locked we were hearing the sounds from the other room. The good thing that the staff offered me immediately after i complained about this another room . They also were kind enough to delay my check-out till 3 PM which i really appreciated.

Review 40:Almost everything espically the spa, breakfast and the staff

Review 41:Nothing!

Review 42:Great Location! Amazing View! Staff were very helpful and professioal. Gorgeous View, Various menus at Breakfast. Unforgetabble place to stay.

Review 43:Unstable wi-fi connection in the room, had to go closer to the router, located in corridor A bit shabby furniture and bathroom equipment, but wasn't a big issue for us

Review 44:Great location and view Spacy rooms, balcony Nice spa&wellness center, free of charge for hotel guests Good breakfast Helpful staff

Review 45:The person at the front desk was very unprofessional. We requested check in at 11 and they give us the room at 4pm. The service at the restaurant was to slow and for New Years it took 4 hours to finish dinner, was very slow. They don't allow dogs in restaurant, even if is a service dog.

Review 46:The location

Review 47:Staff was disorganized and one of the beds was horribly dirty they offered us to change rooms. Some rooms moden, some very outdated. Staff member, without knocking, entered room when I was changing. Another told us there was no where to get basic toiletries (we found it 200 meters from the hotel, they told us to drive 3km!), another told us the only boat to see the lake was the public ferry (we looked on the Internet and found several private boat tours ourselves in 2 seconds)...

Review 48:Position, hot springs, breakfast

Review 49:The door to our bathroom did not fit well and was hard to open at times. The breakfast bar had a wide variety. The dinner was good but pricey.

Review 50:The maids immediately turned out the sofa into a bed when they saw we had children. There were extra pillows in the room.

Review 51:Far away for being a five star hotel: - design not really up to date (rooms really old and looking quite tired) - air conditioning in the rooms not manualy operational (too warm), so you won`t get much sleep - Wi-Fi is a joke - the hotel restaurant is not the best option for having a dinner (but there are plenty of options in the area), although breakfast quite reasonable (for italian standards)

Review 52:Good location for travellers visiting Sirmione only, but a bit problematic on holidays since you get caught in heavy traffic going inside the historic town. The hotel staff is really friendly and forthcoming.

Review 53:Every morning , at 7 o clock starts somebody to clean outside with very Instruments, so nobody cann sleep anymore! We heard everything von outside!Room was very small, and unconfortabil !

Review 54:Position,Pool,

Review 55:Terrible wi-fi (including bizzare site-blocking software that blocks Instagram, for example) Only 3 plugs in the entire and none of them near a bed.

Review 56:Very nice staff Great leisure facilities (pool, spa)

Review 57:Gym facilities are very basic The restaurant is pricey (although good value as food is excellent). However these are only minor criticisms and this wouldn't put me off staying at the GHT again.

Review 58:Excellent service Staff very friendly and helpful Fantastic location next to Lake Garda Nice Thermal Swimming Pool and Spa Facilities

Review 59:We did find that the young ladies on reception were at times unfriendly and upon arrival we were not told where any thing was located

Review 60:The location and facilities were excellent. Quality of breakfast was of an extremely high standard. thoroughly enjoyable stay

Review 61:The pool seems huge on the pics but it's a thermal pool (no complaints here, it's really relaxing!) so not for swimers

Review 62:Everything (breakfast is a high point)

Review 63:We got a room that is equipped for disabled people. The bathroom had special features for that. It did not make us feel so comfortable. I would have preferred a regular room. For the price of the room, you would expect something more fancy.

Review 64:The exposure to the lake and the old city are fantastic. The Spa is great, pool with thermal water as well. Prices are probably high, because of this, cause the room itself is not so great. Breakfast is excellent and the staff is very friendly.

Review 65:Before our visit we read a few reviews and some were uncomplimentary and made us wonder if we had made the right choice. Those few bad reviews were wrong and unfair.

Review 66:The staff are so friendly and cater for your every need. They look after you from arrival to leaving. The pool staff and bartenders are so attentive. The hotel is spacious and clean. Great choice at breakfast. So handy for the bars and restaurants of Sirmione. Cleanliness comes as standard.

Review 67:- I think the exta 100 euro/day charge for my 5 year old son is a bit outrageous. He did not use any extra space/servic, only breakfast and used the jaccuzi. I'd find it more reasonable if the charge is 50 euro/day

Review 68:- Perfect location on the lake and at the front gate of the old town of Sirimione - Relaxing jacuzzi and warm spring spa - Breathtaking view of the lake and the old castle - The restaurant is good - Fantastic breakfast, the best in Italy

Review 69:wifi is really slow a bit expensive

Review 70:- great grand hotel with it own style of Belle Epoque - small number of rooms, and lots of public spaces, thus very comfortable - swiming pool with water from own hot sulphur springs, you feel just incredible - best location in Sermione - free minibar - free parking

Review 71:That we had to leave!

Review 72:Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Spacious, clean, unfussy rooms overlooking the lake. Exceptional location. Classy, quiet hotel with the bustling historical centre on the doorstep. Excellent restaurant - beautiful outlook, great food and friendly, attentive staff.

Review 73:Simply amazing The beauty of the location, waterside position and proximity to the castle and old town made this a first class setting for a relaxing holiday The staff were attentive and v polite, and the food was first class

Review 74:Fantastic location right next to the castle and just a few steps from the centre of Sirmione and its shops, restaurants etc. Outdoor spa pool with natural hot thermal spring water (at no extra cost). Excellent service and food. Not cheap, but you do not go to a 5 star hotel and expect cheap.

Review 102:Quality and location of the hotel, first class.
