Reviews for La Perla delle 5 Terre

Review 1:Alessandra was very attentive , especially when the gates were locked to the public car park and we didn't know how to get out. She was able to track down a key st the station to open it!

Review 2:The rooms are not soundproof. Bring earplugs! And go for the bigger room, you'll be more comfortable. I think we probably had the smallest.

Review 3:The location was perfect. It is off the beaten path, yet an easy walk down to the beach. It has an elevator which was great, we were on the third floor. And there is a delicious cafe right next door.

Review 4:We loved our room at La Perla! It was very charming, quiet & very private. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. We were above the pirate restaurant that served the Best cappuccinos & within walking distance to all the beautiful town of Vernazza had to offer!

Review 5:Location is excellent, being on a quieter end of the main street. Our room was very clean, and it had a nice small balcony (only in rooms facing the street). Staff was very friendly.

Review 6:The first greeting we received upon arrival was, "You're late." We were only 20 minutes late and the hotel is difficult to find. Was not a very warm welcome.

Review 7:Great views and very clean.

Review 8:The shower was way too small. You could hear people talking through the walls on occasion.

Review 9:The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.

Review 10:The reception closes very early, 6 pm, but they often leave earlier. Iwrote an email saying I was going to be late. In total I was one hourlate, but the reception had left. I called management for directions andto be let in the building. She gave me a very difficult time about it,and I felt like she was very rude at first. I was about to cry becauseit was dark, and I didn't know where to go, and she softened hertone a bit afterwards, told me how to get to the hotel and told me thebuilding code. She had also left the keys on the desk for me. I shouldhave been told that there was no parking on site. There was also no oneto carry luggage and check-in with us when we were leaving to ensure wehad a way to get back to the car or send a porter.

Review 11:The location was great. The decor was cozy. The room and bathroom wereexceptionally clean.

Review 12:There was nothing to dislike, we were in the most beautiful place in the world and this B&B was exactly the charm we expected.

Review 13:Everything - it was absolutely perfect. The directions given led us straight there, it was in a quiet area yet easy to get to St Marks Square, our room was inpeccable, the breakfast was fabulous.

Review 14:The Triple Room in the separate building was in convenient proximity to the harbor and the center of activity, yet quiet enough. It has a separate bedroom and bed. Staff met us at the train to guide us to the room.

Review 15:There was a slight smell from the bathroom (plumbing?) and wifi was not consistent. Coffee/tea setup was not replenished daily. Also, we were unable to leave our bags in a secure location after checking out (to sightsee during day).

Review 16:Alessandra and her sister were very helpful and the accommodations were light, airy, modern and comfortable. We enjoyed the sounds of the creek nearby

Review 17:Bathroom was small(especially for a couple over 6 ft tall!), no breakfast and no hair dryer

Review 18:Cozy, clean room, away from the main stretch(but still only a very short walk- about 7 minutes from the water) We arrived in the evening and wanted to explore Cinque Terre the following day - the hotel allowed us to safely stow our bags for as long as we liked at no charge

Review 19:We were expecting a balcony as listed in room description that I had a copy of; were unapologetically informed we in fact did not. This made a big difference to us as we were there several days.

Review 20:The town of Vernazza and the whole Cinque Terre .

Review 21:Towels weren't replaced and were still damp when used on the second morning. Pre-arranged early check-in (leaving key with cafe downstairs) didn't work.

Review 22:Lovely small hotel in best village in Cinque Terre. Nice and comfortable bed.

Review 23:Alessandra was a lovely hostess. The location was on the 4th floor of a walkup. The room was comfortable with a great shower. The Pirate Cafe which we visited for breakfast every day.was directly below. Vernazza is a beautiful spot and the water was only about a 7 minute walk down the road.

Review 24:The bathroom was clean but the shower was quite small.

Review 25:Our room was very nice and lovely and clean and the staff were very helpful allowing us to check in early and leave our luggage in the room even though we arrived early and it wasn't quite ready.

Review 26:The location is good if you want to be away from the crowds. When leaving the train station, you walk up the hill instead of down towards the harbor area. There's a restaurant next door and a self service laundry on the other side.

Review 27:Only downside was the wifi went faulty on our second night, and as there are no night staff couldn't be sorted until next day - minor issue really.

Review 28:La Perla is up the hill fro the railway stn - we liked this quieter location, and the Pirata cafe next door is a bonus. Our room was very compact, but clean and comfortable and had a nice balcony.

Review 29:Had to climb 3 small flights of stairs, which wasn't easy with big suitcases.

Review 30:Location was very close to restaurants & harbour. We could hear the waves breaking on the beach at night.

Review 31:The place is lovely - close to the train and boat but removed enough to be very quiet. The sound of the river (and the rain) was lovely. There's an excellent restaurant on the ground floor and wonderful paths right there. The staff was communicative, helpful and very sweet. We will return!

Review 32:A really nice facility and great value for your money. A great location if you have a rental car and want to explore some really beautiful villages in Italy.

Review 33:Key was tricky to work, had to turn 6 times one way, then 6 tines the opposite way until it unlatched.

Review 34:Stayed in a separate apartment away from the hotel but only a one minute walk away from the harbor and businesses.

Review 35:The bed was too small for 2 person and very rocky. Bathroom also very small. For one night ok, for longer stay it would be too small.

Review 36:I stayed with a friend in a Economy Room. Very cosy room, beautiful details, but very small.

Review 37:The towels were a waffle weave instead of terry, but surprisingly they did the job.

Review 38:The location was actually perfect being that it was actually away from the crowded part of town. It was up the hill from the train station and very easy to get to. Also, right outside our door we had a laundromat (which we needed!) and maybe the best restaurant around! (Il Pirata) The room decor showed the owner really had pride in the place, with what looked like hand painted furniture. The place was very clean.

Review 39:Sign for premises tiny and difficult to spot, price excessive for what it offers. Had to phone twice to get someone at reception. The place should offer to pick up its guests at the car park situated half a kilometer up the road. Luckily there is an excellent breakfast/food place next door.

Review 40:We liked it very much

Review 41:A good place to stay, clean and convenient to the train station. We loved cinque Terre. It is a rustic location and La Perla was nice for the area.

Review 42:We were like 30 min late for arrival due to train delays and no one was there to greet us. Nice guy at Cafe downstairs helped us out.

Review 43:Location was great staff were nice.

Review 44:The location was great - was right next to the Pirates cafe so not far from the train station. The rooms were neat and clean and the lady who checked us in was very friendly and informative.

Review 45:Hotel staff were absent. Had to text when arrived to be let in. Did not see staff after that. Staff did not answer additional questions by phone or by text in regards to opening safe, hair dryer operation or where to leave key after we came back to pick up our luggage.

Review 46:Walking distance from train stop, but so are all hotels/rooms in Vernazza. Room bright and clean, small balcony. They let you leave your luggage in their unlocked office after check out and pick up later in the day.

Review 47:The beds were not real comfortable. But they were adequate.

Review 48:Mi heals met us at train to take us to room. She was very friendly and helpful. She gave us very valuable dining advice and made a reservation for us. The room was nice and very clean. The location was exceptional.

Review 49:Tiny bathroom with shower only, no bath. No breakfast facilities. Quite basic. No view. Needs better soundproofing. Really just a room and quite expensive for just that.

Review 50:Very Nicely furnished. Very Helpful staff. Very clean. Easy to find.

Review 51:Restaurant downstairs is rather annoying and it's owners are very annoying and it gets noisy till late in the evening. Luckily we were on the back side ( room 7 ). Also on one of our three night stay we had a very noisy neighbour till wee in the morning and there is nothing you can really do about it as there is no control at all. But I'm not so sure it would be any different anywhere else in Vernazza. Of the five Cinque Terre towns Vernazza was our favourite.

Review 52:We stayed here because it was in the quieter part of town. It's clean and a nice place to stay. Staff was friendly but you only really see them at check in and check out.

Review 53:Just a note to other travelers to arrive only within check in hours or call ahead. You cannot get into the building unless someone is there, so you end up hauling your luggage around.

Review 54:We had a corner room, room 8, which had two windows. The breeze blowing through the windows was wonderful. Also, in the morning we could smell delicious aromas from the bakery next door. The room and small balcony are very pleasant and relaxing.

Review 55:Was slightly difficult to find especially as we arrived in the pouring rain the signs could be a bit better. The mini fridge provided should be replaced with a better mini fridge is the current one has no real purpose other than being stylish. The small safe should be fixed or bolted down somewhere too.

Review 56:Location is great just a 3min walk from the train station and 3-4min walk to the centre of the village.

Review 57:No frig or mini-bar. A little hard to find.

Review 58:Was only 4 minutes from the rail station and 5 minutes to the heart of the town. Good if you wanted basic clean accommodation.

Review 59:Nothing significant; limited reception hours

Review 60:Good location, both central and quiet in Vernazza. The place is inside a new residential apartment and has limited facilities. It's a decent place if you just look for a basic accommodation inside Vernazza.

Review 61:No breakfast available.

Review 62:The rooms were comfortable even without air conditioning. We had a ceiling and opened up the balcony door. We were here in July. great location.

Review 63:For the money we paid I thought I would have a refrigerator and more than one chair. I would have liked to see the staff more than we did. It seemed once they finished cleaning they went home.

Review 64:Staff were friendly and location good.

Review 65:There was no wifi in the seperate building. We were concerned we wouldn't be able to check in on time and we're told if we were late we would have to find somewhere else to stay. The nearest parking is around 2km away up a steep hill and costs euro15 per day. This should have been explained up front.

Review 66:The location was wonderful. Close to the beach and main streets.

Review 67:Lift didn't work. Could do with air conditioning during the hot summer months

Review 68:Great, clean and well set out room. Balcony was fantastic allowing us to relax outside in our own space

Review 69:There was no air- conditioning. The fan was set to the winter setting so when it was on you could hardly feel it, so we were quiet hot.

Review 70:Location and that we had a balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 71:I found the bed a bit hard and the pillow and I don't sleep well at the best of times. If you're a night owl like me,then some noise from the car park below could distract sleep.I didn't always see a receptionist there and some times I needed toilet paper.

Review 72:Location a few mins away from town and train stop .A wonderful place.Reception was helpful with train schedules and getting to my next destination.Cafe below and staff were very friendly and great coffee!I

Review 73:We had two rooms because we couldn't fit all four of us in one. My husband's and my room was fine -- no AC but could have windows open that made it comfortable. Where our teenagers room was located, the windows faced another building and they had bugs coming in the window so couldn't leave the windows open which made it sweltering hot (July). Screens on the windows (or better yet, air conditioning) would make a world of difference for comfort and a good night's stay.

Review 74:Vernazza is just lovely. Even though the hotel is on the far end of town, it's such a small place, it was a hop, skip and a jump to get down to the harbor. Vernazza is now one of my favorite places -- hope to go back! The room was cute with nice decor touches.

Review 75:Of course there are going to be a lot of steps. Of course also with an area like this there are going to be a lot of tourists but most disappear after 5pm.

Review 76:The location was great, very close to the action.

Review 77:Checkout time was a little early for our group.

Review 78:Wonderful location, darling rooms. So accommodating as we arrived very late at night and they were wonderful and personal in letting us know how to get to our rooms.

Review 79:no air-conditioning,just a fan,it feels cool during the night but hot in the daytime

Review 80:The location is good, just 3-5 minutes from the railway station. The reception is kindly. The bed in the double room is big. It also has a kettle in the room so that we have hot water.

Review 81:Don't leave the windows open or else you will get bugs in your room! The reception desk has limited hours so if you need anything early in the morning or late at night, you will be unable to reach the staff.

Review 82:The room was cozy and very boutique feel. It was a close walk to the train station and located right beside a laundromat and fantastic restaurant.

Review 83:All good - A bigger sign out front would help you find place - I didn't realize only on 3rd floor.

Review 84:I liked my room with balcony and shutters which was simply decorated. Good location 2 min from station and next door to bank money machines, laundry and restaurant. WiFi good signal in room, friendly staff. Lovely village. Lift in building so didn't have to lug luggage upstairs.

Review 85:It's a bit on the pricey side compared to other places in the town, but it's super-clean and modern, with a rustic feel, so I felt it was worth it. It is also up from tourist-clogged centre of the town, so is a relief.

Review 86:The room was spotless and new, and the location was out of the tourist centre of Vernazza.

Review 87:No air conditioning and fan didnt generate much cooling. Room was a quite small so not much space.

Review 88:The room had a great clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Wifi worked no problems. Location was up the hill but meant it was quieter and only 2 mins walk to all the main restaurants and shops.

Review 89:The shower was so small you could barely wash. The bed head was somehow not attached to the bed-dont lean on it! The wifi didnt work on our second night, as we were checking out the next day we were told there were two servers which would have been good information at the start.

Review 90:It was close but far away enough that there was no noise from the centre or train. Ut was clean tidy and staff were friendly

Review 91:Wifi connection kept dropping out, when it was connected it was very fast, but most of the time it couldnt connect, we went about 60% of the time with no wifi

Review 92:The rooms were beautifully kept, very clean, and set up very well. Loved the furniture and the style of the place. Vernazza was small enough that the walk into the main area of town took less than 5 minutes. Location was perfect, quiet area and very nice.

Review 93:Residents live in the building and some left early morning - as a light sleeper this meant I was woken early - but as I was keen to get up and out, it didn't affect me greatly.

Review 94:I was arriving outside of check-in time and the owners were very helpful in providing me with information to ensure I could access the accommodation and collect my key.

Review 95:I was quite disappointed that the room we were promised was not what we got when we arrived. The attendants are not at the location often so service was below standard. When we arrived at 7:30 pm as I said we would, we were locked out of the main building. We had no way of getting in. Luckily, a man saw us who was sitting at the pub just next door and had a key. He let us in and we took the lift up to our place to find a note with a key saying sorry but we did not get the room we agreed upon. We ended with up a room that was not updated. The Wi Fi never worked for us than more than1-2 minutes, if that. Fortunately, we were out and about most of the time. I would not recommend a stay here.

Review 96:Location as far as proximity to the train station.

Review 97:Very near the train station. Staff very friendly, spoke English very well. Everything you need in the room - bathroom en suite, coffee/tea, safe, and good wifi.

Review 98:There was ZERO wifi, and they said in order to use wifi we had to be in the other facility which was a 10-15 walk away, and that did not work when we needed to work remotely and be awake well into the night. The staff were not very clear about many things. The drive down the road was not worth it - take the train. There was a lot of construction noise early in the morning that did not make a peaceful sleep.

Review 99:We stayed in the separate apartment that sleeps 3. The location was great. Spacious apartment.

Review 100:This property is a bit off the main business district but not too far. It was very quiet at night unlike the main business district. I would recommend that you seek any property away from the hustle and bustle.

Review 101:very beautiful room!the furniture, the decoration and the hostess:)she is kind and beautiful.Smile is very warm.and she is the designer of the rooms,so lovely!Vernazza is very small, the hotel is located mountain side.In the night you can only hear the sound of the stream.Although this hotel doesn't offer breakfast, don't worry! There is a wonderful restaurant beside the hotel,we only lived one day and one night, but we had three meals there! Two brothers hold this, one is chef, one is waiter, very funny! They said temselves brother and sister !HAHA~

Review 102:Wifi was part of the deal but "it wasn't working" the days we were there, we had planned to do some work & upcoming reservations .. No discount offered. Room was a bit noisy and dark.

Review 103:The room, in a separate building was very cute, clean and we enjoyed it.

Review 104:Location of both rooms - one in main building the other down the road closer to the water. This provided a fun experience for our group. While there was no breakfast offered, Il Pirata is right next door with some of the best food and cappucinos in town.

Review 105:We were staying in a room separate (quite far) from the main reception and other rooms. This was quite dark and smelled a little damp. It was close to the main square which was nice but noisy at night. There was no access to wifi in this room, we were told you need to go to the main building. The room was mostly quite clean but no one came to make the bed or clean at all on one of the days we stayed. Overall bit great value.

Review 106:Upon arrival we were told that we had no wifi in our location. This was frustrating and we felt that this should have been communicated to us ahead of time, especially since the room description claims wifi availability. Not a deal breaker, but was inconvenient when we needed to connect with home.

Review 107:We stayed in a triple room that was not connected to the main building and was in a perfect location a street above the Vernazza harbor. The room was large and very clean. Great for three people.

Review 108:Mattress is a full sized in a queen size frame with foot board. Too small for my 5'11 husband and I who are used to a queen or king mattress. GPS had trouble getting us to the location and they don't have it well marked. I suggest you locate exactly where it is before travel. No view of the ocean, but a short walk through town gets you there. That's the trade off with being close to the train station.

Review 109:I liked proximity to train station, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed including a warming towel rack! We could pull our roller bags easily to the location, although there are 3 flights of stairs to reach the rooms. Staff was wonderful and they waited past hours for our arrival when we were stuck with a train strike. Be sure to call if you are running past 5 pm to let them know. I would definitely go back if they could provide us with a queen sized bed!

Review 110:Small details: no luggage rack (luggage goes on floor). No place to put shaving kit in WC. Very small shower. No breakfast. I guess you pay extra for being in Cinque Terre.

Review 111:Location, far from train noise and busy street. Great restaurant next door.

Review 112:There was no toilet seat (did not appear to have the attachments either), very cold at night! Also, we never saw the staff at all, though they did leave key and communicate via text message. We wanted to check out at 8 AM, but they did not plan to arrive until 8:30, so left payment in safe, strange.

Review 113:Bright cheery room, everything immaculate

Review 114:the wall is really too thin, you can hear almost everything, such as the neighbour is taking a shower, they turn on the hairdryer and the staff lied to us,she said there is no one beside us, It's really not funny, I say the truth

Review 115:really clean and warm decroation

Review 116:Had a minor issue with the wifi for the first day and a half where IPv6 sites did not work (mostly Facebook) but this resolved itself (a IP issue I assume) and was not detrimental to our stay at all. Everything else was great!

Review 117:Location was excellent, right near train station, and no more than five meters from the Laundromat and 15 meters from a bank! The staff were really nice, and the location was nice and quiet.

Review 118:Wall was just a bit too thin, noise isolating can be improved. But it did not affect us too much anyways.

Review 119:The hostel was great, my girlfriend and I loved it a lot, the room was very clean and tidy, gave us a cozy environment. Toilet was pretty good as well, water was warm enough for us under that cold weather. Receptionist Alessandra was very friendly, polite and helpful. We'd deffinitely choose La perla delle 5 terre again if we visit cinque terre again. Thanks Alessandra!!!

Review 120:- Some distance from the village centre and the sea, no particular view

Review 121:- Nice spacious and clean room with good basic amenities, no luxury - Friendly staff, keeping SMS contact with us beforehand and giving wayfinding instructions - Funny little Pirate restaurant in the ground floor (not part of the hotel) serving good breakfast (but also causing some noise in the evening...)

Review 122:It was a little hard to find... Just make sure you walk up the hill from the train station past the two banks and its a glass door on the right. They have to buzz you in but she was so sweet to wait for us eventhough our train was late and we had a hard time finding it!

Review 123:The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a balcony that was fun to sit on and drink wine. Great location and Vernazza is the place to stay in Cinque Terre!

Review 124:Great location - a few minutes walk from the marina and nice and quiet at night. Rooms decorated in a fresh coastal style. Good wifi and friendly staff.

Review 125:The woman who runs the place Alessanadro was not helpful, but her sister turned out to be very nice!

Review 126:The hotel room small but nicely done. The location was great.

Review 127:The staff were very nice, but not helpful on arrival. We had to carry our bags ourselves up many stairs without the young staff person offering to help. She seemed unaware of what good service consists of. We were not in the main building. Hours at the desk were quite limited.

Review 128:Vernazza was lovely, the accommodation was acceptable

Review 129:They have elevator! Location was convenient that they were in front of residential parking lot which makes it easy to unload suitcases from the car. The cafe downstairs have the best croissants in the area! WiFi is fast :) thanks la perla delle cinque terre for the accomodation!

Review 130:We were unable to get Wi-Fi in our room due to the location. We were down on the pier, But for the inconvience it was worth it.

Review 131:Everyone was friendly, clean rooms, easy to get around

Review 132:non-cotton towells

Review 133:Really nice location, next to the parking area for local habitants, just 10 minutes from the port. The aparttment in which we stayed was located on third floor and looked a little bit like dolls' house with a preety decoration with hearts. The restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner in down next to the front door.

The Fine Print

If you expect to arrive outside regular front desk hours, please inform the property in advance.A public shuttle bus will take you to the parking lot half a mile away.
