Reviews for Hotel Cafe Woud

Review 1:The bar downstairs had clearly- audible music that went on very late. The curtains did not block the light. The shower did not have enough of a barrier around the floor, so the water ran out over the tiny bathroom floor. There was no bar soap.

Review 2:Liked the beds - comfortable and with nice blue & white duvet cover. Across the street from a narrow canal. Near the ferry to Texel. The woman in charge was nice and friendly.

Review 3:Very basic breakfast.

Review 4:Second stay in three days. Felt like home coming back from Texel Island. Big bonus was to see bicycling Tour de Holland end and start from hotel while we were there. Had great fun talking with riders and learning to play billiards. Bicycles securely stored inside garage next door.

Review 5:Breakfast is very basic.

Review 6:Cozy cafe/pub with billiard tables with very friendly regular patrons who helped make it a special place. Family operated with pride.

Review 7:Good family hotel with verry friendly onwers, if you need any help they'll be there for you. Nice bar, clean room, good bed, borrowed bike, nearby towncenter of Den Helder en the militairy marine base.

Review 8:Stairs scarily steep Very old fashioned but that added to the fun.

Review 9:Friendly welcome, very cosy bar. Clean beds, very cheap drinks. Good location Choice of time for breakfast.

Review 10:For the reasonable amount of money you'll get cosy, clean and quite room. Nice place for discovering dune regions near Den Helder and the nature of Texel. Ideal for solo and calm travellers.

Review 11:Very friendly staff!

Review 12:Quiet room at the top of the building

Review 13:The room was very tired. Terrible wiring everywhere.

Review 14:Near town centre

Review 15:No variety of food, no fruits.

Review 16:Staff are very helpful & friendly

Review 17:Nice and friendly staff. Stairs are very vertical, they are not for older people.

Review 18:Hotel bar very homely and the locals in the bar were very friendly and treated us like locals

Review 19:Great hotel for the price! The room was clean and bright. The staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I would stay here again.

Review 20:Poor wifi on the top floor

Review 21:Nice staff, helped us with renting bikes, good breakfast, close to the train station and ferry

Review 22:The hospitality and care extended by the staff was exceptional!

Review 23:Friendly, helpful staff. Arranged a safe place for my very laden car. Would revisit. Very handy for Texel ferry and maritime historical sights

Review 24:Inadequate lighting: it was difficult to find my room's outside keyhole because of said lighting; shower room lighting very weak; a light appliance above my bed which had no visible socket for its plug. It is no fault of Hotel Café Woud, but road and pedestrian access is difficult from the town centre because of major works in and around Beatrixstraat which mean diversions affect road and footpath users. Take a map with you and plan alternative routes.

Review 25:Its location on the waterfront offers a good view could have a pleasant walk (see opposite) to the town centre and station. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Easy check-in. Breakfast is continental and good. You get what you pay for.

Review 26:Very nice hotel. Clean and cozy. Breakfast - eggs, bread, cheese, sausages, butter, jam... As for me, it is more than enough. Perfect location. There are 2 museums close to hotel. And it takes about 15 min walk to get to ferry harbour. Definitely we will book a room there next time.

Review 27:Very poor hotel, allows smoking which is against the law, appears run-down, no reception lobby, minimal room with light bulbs mounted on wall, no hair dryer, the cheapest available towels which are old, thin and small, breakfast consists of a few pieces of bread, cheese and meat, no selection, no options. Only stay here if you have no other option. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 28:Friendly staff

Review 29:My room is at the top floor and has a window that has no curtain. So, it is quite bright when the sun come up. The bed is quite nosy when you turn. It is not the best hotel bed but for the price it is quite good.

Review 30:The price is excellent and the hotel room is clean. It is a family owned hotel and the owner is quite accommodating and friendly. Nice breakfast!

Review 31:Stairs to climb to get to the room.

Review 32:Location was convenient. Breakfast - I departed early and they placed a large breakfast out of my departure. Quiet. The Lodge Keeper was very nice.

Review 33:The cafe underneath the hotel produces a lot of noise. It was hard to find someone from the hotel staff between all the people in the cafe.

Review 34:The staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice and the staff was very helpful to serve more if you wanted to.

Review 35:stairs are very inclined, but looks like to be a common problem to several hotels in the area - same designer from wind mills ... in a few years I won't be able neither to "climb" stairs up nor to "roll" stairs down

Review 36:staff was very helpful and breakfast was at our expectation - hotel is located about twenty minutes walking from boarding pier to Texel

Review 37:William and Esther Slikker, the landlord and lady of this hotel and their staff have to be hands down, among the most wonderful people in all of Netherlands. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their kindness and hospitality were so overwhelming that it seemed insufficient just to pay for bed and breakfast. Amazing people everyone including the lady who cleaned my room, the lady who fixed my breakfast every morning and ensured I ate properly and the gent who served me at the bar. Wonderful people. Budget friendly, spotlessly clean, great breakfast, extremely comfortable room and the most amazing people. Such a gem of a hotel! Great location as well - walking distance from the city centre, rail station, and the ferry terminals

Review 38:It was all good !

Review 39:The welcome was great, the locals in the bar were great, breakfast was great. Would thoroughly recommend this as a budget hotel !

Review 40:Personals are a very nice and kind. They always try to help their guests.

Review 41:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located near the city centre and the marine museum.
