Reviews for Foresteria Di Fontanafredda
Review 1:Its a large operation and maybe a bit institutional for some but perfect for the traveler wanting a central location to spend the day making local visits.
Review 2:Great location for visiting Piedmont's Bassa Langa region. Comfortable, convenient facilities and an excellent breakfast. Has its own cellar tour and tasting (and restaurant reputedly) all worth a visit. Great for those travelling independently and not a more personable B&B experience.
Review 3:The rooms were bellow average in quality and comfort. Bed was hard and made enormous amount of noise (not only during you-know-what)… Old rooms and felt dirty although cleaned. The hotel personnel spoke no english at all!
Review 4:Great experience to see the huge wine cellars and the vineyards. The personnel in the wine shop were super and kind and helped us find our way around.
Review 5:The bed and pillows were horrible. Very hard and we also had weak air conditioning.
Review 6:We liked the location of Forresteria. The room was large and we were greeted with a bottle of Nebbiolo wine. It is a very quiet location. We were unable to schedule a tour of Fontanafredda winery. No tours were available for us.
Review 7:This hotel is a historic place in Serralunga D'Alba, and it is amazing! We had reserved for 5 nights,as we wanted to move around "Piemonte" to visit all the little cities we could, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, La Morra ... and Serralunga D'Alba was the prefect location for that. When we arrived we enjoyed the views of a vast "nebbiolo" grape plantation before getting to the "Foresteria" itself. As they alerted in the check-in instructions there was nobody on site to help us, but we followed the orientations and everything went well. There is a flight of stairs to get to the door, but inside there is a small elevator (very good for the big amount of luggage we had). The room we got was called "Lazzarito" after one of the wines they make. It was a very bright, clean and spacious room. The big surprise was the Barolo bottle waiting for us as a welcome gift! Incredible! The bathroom was very good and clean also, good shower power and amenities. They also gave us a visit with tasting the next day, which we really appreciated, and we discover that it was right there in their cellar that the first meeting of the "Slow Food Style" happened! Awesome! The breakfast was good, a variety of "crudos" and cheese, yogurt, breads, cakes... The lady who served us, Rosana, was very nice and we thank her for her kindness. We didn't have the chance to have lunch at the restaurant nearby, but I think it is a good and affordable place. They also had a self service tea in the afternoon, very thoughtful. Walking around is not only beautiful but also peaceful and full of soothing views. We did have dinner at Guido restaurant next door, which was amazing and I highly recommend. The only problem whatsoever is that it is an isolated place because it is not in a city, so there are no supermarkets or drugstores nearby, you have to go everywhere by car, even for a quick dinner.
Review 8:Be sure to ask reception about the exact building where the hotel is - not so easy to find it, especially if you're coming late in the night
Review 9:Great location to discover Piedmont, Loved the domain, amazing landscape. Service is good, for breakfast - all you need. Wine cellars tour and tasting is included in price.

Review 12:Wifi not stable. We stayed at the far end, no wifi in the room at all.

Review 14:No reception, on weekend days the wifi did not work, staff could not respond to wifi problem. Monday morning 8.00 it worked again, meaning that is was something minor.Small beds and hot room.
Review 15:Beautiful location in park and clean room. Friiendly Staff willing to help if you find them.
