Reviews for Palazzo Versace

Review 1:Our superior suite was located towards the noisy street. No direct beach access. Breakfast facility too small with long waiting times to get seated and serviced. Pool not clean and needs some renovation. Compared to other hotels in this class poor value for the money.

Review 2:Hotel and room design. Comfortable bed.

Review 3:This hotel needs a refurb. My curtains were not closing, light to activate house cleaning not working. Not enough service staff. Could not book a cabana.

Review 4:Staff very helpful but run off their feet. Beautiful atrium.

Review 5:loved everything except the housekeeping kept forgetting to provide the complimentary water in room...

Review 6:the name says it all....it was a fabulous experience and a fantastic time spent in VERSACE...loved the hotel and its architectural design....staffs were very friendly and helpful...though the location is a bit far from the main city centre, but its 2 min drive to sea world....

Review 7:Some inexperienced staff pool and lobby bar service was poor and slow sometimes non existant

Review 8:problem solving by management but we had to jump through hoops to get to speak to management the final outcome was great but we had a lot of stress and waiting to get there

Review 9:I stayed for 3 days I was on my honeymoon I was given a twin bed room & I requested for a Queens bed when I booked the room but when. I requested the hotel for upgrade to Queens bed they refused saying the hotel is fully booked & that you have booked via booking.com which is third party so we cant do anything & I paid 60 AUD $ for upgrade I got the room for only 1 night Queens bed

Review 10:Hi Location was good

Review 11:We did visit at a pick time from 30Dec to 03 Jan but when you pay over $700 per night you don't expect to experience the following. 1. It was near impossible to have any sund beds at the pool 2. When we did get sun beds they needed over 45 minutes to order a cocktail and over an hour an half for anything to eat. 3. You had to book atleast a day ahead for the restaurants which means you could not be very relaxed with your holiday and you didn't really have a way of getting a quick bite. 4. Resulting into room service also required over an hour wait. Housekeeping was also extremely disappointing. We to get clean towels and it took over 2 hours to get new towels. Houskeeping will make the beds but nothing else in the room. For example we had some used, empty wine classes around the spa and they did not wash them or replace them with clean ones. The breakfast queues require up to half an hour wait unless you were there around 7-8am. The food for breakfast and dinner was indeed amazing, they will often run out of things if you did not make it early and you allowed the queues to build up.

Review 12:We liked the design and the overall presentation of the hotel. The room spa was amazing The cuisine was amazing and the buffet had a lot of variety.

Review 13:Clean towels were not available when room was serviced. On a daily basis had to ring housekeeping for them between 5 & 6 pm. 2/1/16 room wasn't serviced by 9pm called manager and he had the bed made and turned down but room wasn't cleaned. Appalling customer service for the $5000 I paid for 2 rooms for 4 days!!!

Review 14:Facilities were great. Gorgeous pool area.

Review 15:Quite expensive including room service extra fees. Would expect a touch more for price you pay

Review 16:Absolute class, detail in every aspect. Very well run,Wonderful facilities

Review 17:I'm the daughter of our family of 3. With my mum and dad. We booked the Versace to surprise my mum for her birthday, which blew her away! We loved the rooms and the luxurious bathroom! It was so lovely to have this as memory as a Family together as both my parents have headed off overseas to live in Europe! A moment to remember! We loved the Versace experience!

Review 18:The fact that we were required to walk all around the hotel to get to the Vie restaurant for dinner, which was difficult for my elderly mother walking with a stick, due to the hotel shutting off the direct route for a function!

Review 19:The suite was very pleasant and comfortable, with beautiful flooring.

Review 20:The first rooms we were given were spotless and 10metres from a busy road. The location is unbelievably terrible, right next to a noisy shopping centre and along a busy main road. No access to the beach, away from the centre. Orange juice is not included in the breakfast and must be paid separately.

Review 21:The pool, good service, nice rooms

Review 22:We booked a king room but on arrival were told that all the king rooms were booked out and we had two double beds instead. While the beds were comfortable, my husband has a large build and there's no way we fit into a double so had to sleep separately. So much for a romantic night away from the kids! Also our view of some grass and day beds was not great, but I guess you can't have a lovely view from every room.

Review 23:The pool area (although I didn't get the chance to try it) looked beautiful. Great sandy beach. The buffet breakfast was very nice. The spa bath in the room was lovely.

Review 24:We upgraded to a suite and were disappointed when it was on ground floor looking out to the busy road but while this was disappointing the room itself is nice. The worst part of the trip for me was that we went over Xmas period (24-28th Dec) and they just don't have enough staff on. There are long queues to get into breakfast and once inside, on every day there, we had finished breakfast before our coffee arrived. Other times of day in le vie or le jardin or by the pool we had to continually go and find servers to order drinks or food. Room service waiting times are over an hour and the food was terrible when it arrived. Overall the feeling was that staff were rushed or frazzled and the staff are what makes a hotel great.

Review 25:The location is great and the rooms are lovely (tho suggest you ask not to be put on the busy road like we were). Highlight of whole stay is the bed. When you get staff they are lovely and very accommodating- there just aren't enough of them for such a luxury hotel and for the prices charged.

Review 26:Kids cannot use indoor swimming pool!

Review 27:Check in successfully!Although we arrived early!Strong sense of design & Versace style!Room service is very good!Good service, a wonderful experience!

Review 28:Had a bruised toe but almost wasnt allowed to have the BUFFET dinner as I was wearing sandals. Yet its ok for women to wear sandals anyway? Hmm not very impressed.

Review 29:The only down side of our stay was the room had an open bathroom with only a glass door to the toilet. I had to ask my partner to leave the room everytime I needed to use the bathroom. I like a bit of privacy when I use the toilet. I have never stayed in a room with an open bathroom before.

Review 30:the service & location was excellent

Review 31:Check in too slow on Friday afternoon. Four desks available and only two manned at 2.30 pm. Not good enough for a premium quality hotel

Review 32:Great staff very willing to assist in all regards once we were through the check in bottleneck

Review 33:Extra Wi-Fi charge - I am tired of places adding cost when many others provide it free, when it costs hotel nothing ! Everywhere should be included in 2015 !!

Review 34:All good - fantastic beds

Review 35:Over a decade ago my family with 2 small children use to holiday at Versace every summer and much has changed. Firstly that high level service has certainly deteriorated. I had to spell my surname to the receptionist three times her mind seemed elsewhere . The beautiful perfume bottles that greeted you in the bathrooms are no longer there. The mosaiced wall by the pool was falling apart and the once beautiful water feature was not working. The worst was the table settings by the pool being replaced by double bed lounges. My greatest memory was sitting at the table enjoying a cupuccino by the pool in beautiful Versace China and silverware. This year my capuchino was bought to me in a Pyrex cup which I had to put on the ground and charged$7.00.Disgraceful. Won't be coming back

Review 36:The air conditioning in our room didn't seem to maintain an even temperature & was at times noisy.

Review 37:The stylish very well appointed rooms. The hotel facilities & appearance are very well maintained. The staff are excellent. The little extras that are in your room are a nice touch. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

Review 38:Lift was broken. Staff are inflexible and not helpful. Not enough cabanas/sun chairs. Pool is big but there is nowhere to relax. The cabana is not part of the facilities, except need to book in advance and extra charge. Thanks for the heads up?

Review 39:Rooms with the balcony. Loved the Xmas tree.

Review 40:Check in after 2pm seems to late.

Review 41:The hotel was stunning. So relaxing by the pool. The staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful. Very approachable. Any problems they would help. Always smiling and seem very happy working in hotel!!! Which I loved!

Review 42:Thought it was starting to look a little tired in some places i.e tiles around the pool, painting and finishes in the room. Dinner at Vanitas was nice but very expensive for what it was.

Review 43:Size of the room, location, facilities. It was my husbands birthday and he was acknowledged at check in and in the restaurant as well as a cake and note in our room which was a nice touch. Breakfast was also very good.

Review 44:I didn't like how the security guard followed my husband around whenhe left the gym- he told me the female security guard follows him fromwhen he exited the elevator to when he went to the pool- he felt like hewas been harassed - not good as he is the one that organised thesurprise weekend away.

Review 45:The house keeping and room service was great always clean and made theroom up well

Review 46:we were there for our 10th wedding anniversary. we dined at the fine restaurant on the Thursday night ( our anniversary) the bar closed at 10.30 pm whilst we were at dinner and refused us drinks at 10 47 pm telling us to go to our room and call room service. A six star international restaurant. the food was ordinary over dinner as well. our flight was delayed 1.3 hours so we were 5 mins late for a hair dressing appointment and the male staff member was rude to my wife. Not what we expected from the Versace.

Review 47:facilities were great and some staff were pleasenat

Review 48:Nothing.

Review 49:Absolutely stunning hotel, Joana at reception was the most helpful, friendly person (and had the most beautiful smile I've ever seen) the facilities were amazing and although it's a bit expensive you most certainly get what you pay for!! I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 50:Service, staff, room and facilities esp the pool were all of exceptional standard. This hotel is definently one of the finest we have stayed at worldwide and would highly recommend it to any couple or family in need of some r&r.

Review 51:The fact that I thought I had booked a King bed to find I had to pay more for a king bed as it was only a double room

Review 52:The property was very stylish and had a lot to offer

Review 53:Pool staff could only be classified as worse than rude. Not a very good experience. Went here for 2nd anniversary. Won't be for another I think. To any newly married, avoid this place like the plague (severe life threatening bacteria) for anniversaries or honeymoons.

Review 54:rooms were average, Staff in lobby were ok.

Review 55:Cut my foot in the spa pool, still hurts, as did a friend of mine and reported it. you shut the pool later that day. lots of tiles falling off the pool wall...bath robes had holes in, bathroom was dirty... long wait on room service. shame because it's my 10th or so visit.

Review 56:beautiful environment and very relaxed. lovely birthday message in my room

Review 57:Spa pool had been closed since pervious trip and location a little far from most amenities. Room had a view of the Main Street . Very noisy.

Review 58:Lovely hotel (starting to look a little tired) and nice helpful staff

Review 59:I was not impressed that although the room was booked for three people towels, robes, slippers and coffee cups were only two supplied. This is not satisfactory for a hotel of this calibre - no attention to detail.

Review 60:It was my husband's 70th Birthday and he didn't want a big party so I decided to treat him with a stay at this hotel. His sister is also visiting so we took her along too. I appreciated the nice gesture of a birthday cake which arrived unexpectedly. The reception area and bar are very glamorous.

Review 61:Was a very busy weekend being a long weekend, so naturally the pool area was a bit crowded. Versace's buildings are also starting to show their age a little.

Review 62:Thre room was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was exceptional! Dinner at Vie was lovely, and the staff were very helpful

Review 63:I don't think it is necessary to charge for wi-fi. A bit more information about the hotels facilities for guests.

Review 64:Very elegant decor, the staff were efficient and friendly. The food fabulous! We had a superior room which was very comfortable for 3 people esp with the extra toilet. Close to the beach, shopping and restaurants

Review 65:woken from 1-2.30am by noise from party of 5or6 on balcony which was about 30 metres away. not enough pool lounges

Review 66:room was well designed and attractive, view of pool was lovely Very good poolside food & service. friendly service

Review 67:We were very disappointed being woken up at 8-8.30 am with the noise ofjackhammers directly beneath our room outside our balcony. The hotel wasnot busy and why we were placed in a room directly above that was appalling-considering this was our 5th visit. There wasn't even any room aroundthe pool to relax because of work going on- We obviously complained andeven taped the noise which reception agreed was an embarrassment andshould not have happened, but, to compensate the disruption they wouldtake off the bar fridge charges(which we never even used) In fact wecomplained as soon as we arrived because both complimentary waters werehalf empty!.We were so disappointed that will not be booking again anddefinitely not what you expect from a 5 star hotel!

Review 68:We were nicely surprised by a piece of cheese cake delivered to our roomto celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary

Review 69:Pool attendance not great and could not cope with good orders in a Sunday though not that complicated ! Noisy work on adult side by pool and not warned , very annoying all day !

Review 70:Great pa person who greeted us . Not much 5 star service with staff , a bit off the mark but nice all around .

Review 71:not as good as first time I been there. The soap was change and not smell nice anymore, the worse part is the shapoo is really really really bad!!! It damage my gf's hair, even after conditioner the hair still stick tonghter many of hairs after use the shapoo...

Review 72:the place is really really really nice, makes people feel like to come back again.

Review 73:The staff were fantastic, they always engaged with a young daughter and that made the experience so much the better. They even went out of their way to find a special Versace bag when her first tooth fell out and that only added to her excitement, thank you.

Review 74:The directions to the beach we had to cross a main road whereas we found a bridge that went from the shopping centre to the Sheraton at the other side. A much safer option!

Review 75:Staff were amazing. Rooms were lovely and clean

Review 76:Breakfast tray outside our neighbours door took a full day to clear (after I finally requested it). The lampshade outside our door was smashed as you would expect at a 2 star hotel in war torn Somalia. There aren't enough King rooms to accommodate all requests (we were initially given a twin). There aren't enough poolside sun loungers (we had to give up and go to the beach across the road). Had to line up for the hot breakfast buffet and wait in queue. We found an erroneous $170 charge on our bill at checkout. Valet parking is an extra charge and not incorporated into room rate. Better bathroom toiletries are found in 3 star hotels.

Review 77:Breakfast buffet was adequate. Bed was comfortable. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Pool cabanas (and F&B menu) offered decent value and service. Room layout was spacious.

Review 78:Very un happy with the small bed we had 2 double beds that were soooo small!! I haven't slept in something like that since I was a kid. Never stayed away where we had to squeeze in such a small bed

Review 79:Great pool area and breakfast

Review 80:Management is hopeless. Chaos when arriving-too many bosses and limited number to assist. Restaurants for breakfast and small meals chaotic. Bad leadership.

Review 81:pleasant to the eye. Staff are wonderful.

Review 82:For the money its not that great id expect to pay $250/night maximum for this. The Venetian In Vegas or Macau is $250 for example, they are 5 star. Rant over

Review 83:The staff couldn't be more helpful and the buffet breakfast was superb with a lot of variety.

Review 84:The size of the tv too small. No ipod connectivity for music. Wifi and technology should be more prominent.

Review 85:The attentive nature of all the staff. Exceptional customer service.

Review 86:Even though the suite was comfortable - it was dated and clearly the furniture needs replacement. Staff are not attentive at the bar and pool bar - we constantly had to get up to go order our drinks. The pool area is very cramped. Paying $700 for a suite per night and then still expecting guest to pay for wifi is just ridiculous.

Review 87:The check in staff that eventually helped was very helpful. The breakfast was well presented and tasteful. The suite was comfortable. Check out was quick.

Review 88:Unable to get in to two of three rooms booked due new key system. Replacement keys also didn't work, but eventually sorted. Views from rooms uninspiring.

Review 89:Staff efficient and friendly

Review 90:We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo for a family birthday celebration as well as having a High Tea one afternoon. The facilities were fantastic. The staff so helpful. Would do it all again. Thank you so much Palazzo Versace.

Review 91:The length of time it takes to have credit card authorisations lifted from my card account after checkout. It is now Wednesday and I still have an outstanding authorisation of $370 on my visa. I checked out Sunday morning.

Review 92:Staff were very proactive, friendly and keen to assist wherever possible.

Review 93:It was great, just wish I had a family member to share it with

Review 94:Beautiful room and hotel, great view of the pool from my room. Near the beach. Near my conference venue (Sheraton Mirage)

Review 95:Being told that our 'guaranteed' plunge pool was subject to availability when we checked in.

Review 96:We enjoyed the prestige location and privacy of our condo.

Review 97:Have stayed in many Motels through the world but this was far the best ever, staff so caring and helpful especially then turning back of the bed at night and getting everything ready

Review 98:Didn't like we couldn't sit outside on such a sunny day in winter. Not enough chairs and tables for a cocktail. Had to stay inside which was very hot as the sun streamed in through huge windows.

Review 99:The room was lovely.

Review 100:Great experience for special occasions Just one problem they take $300 out of your account for deposit But takes 4 to 5 days to get it back which im still awaiting Thats the only downside of it

Review 101:Just the experience and been waited on great

Review 102:The parking situation is not ideal, the undercover parking was full, so we had to park our car out on the street. For a five-star hotel, I would expect to be able to park my vehicle securely.

Review 103:Could not fault the service we received. We went to the high tea on the Saturday and it is truly amazing. Breakfast, included in price, was nice. The furnishings and décor are, as expected, top notch!

Review 104:Lounge staff in general could have paid closer attention to serving their customers. Road noise when using outside balcony.

Review 105:Very comfortable hotel to spend time at.

Review 106:Just wish there was more shops/cafes within walking distance. There were no cafes at the marina nice enough that were open early. Realistically was very expensive

Review 107:Loved the comfort, very friendly staff

Review 108:there were a few items missing from our hotel room, including room service menu etc. I rung to ask for one delivered and they forgot then delay for dinner so took nearly two hours to get everything. in saying that they were apologetic and lovely about it. this is nit picking though as we had a fantastic stay!!!!!

Review 109:Beautifully appointed hotel, gorgeous pool and outdoor spaces, fantastic breakfast, great gym, comfy bed and loved the bath!

Review 110:I had such high expectations that when there were all these problems it made me realise there was nothing special about the hotel.

Review 111:The spa was magic as was the spa in the room

Review 112:poor window insulation causing heavy traffic noise in the room requiring change of room. being told in the hotel's restaurant that the chef wouldn't agree to my wife's request for oysters or a soup since she couldn't find something appealing amongst the entrees. It wasn't as if oysters or soup were not available since they were in the hotel's cafe. Whoever the chef was, his food was good - but not outstanding enough to be so arrogant.

Review 113:bad service for late night coffee in bar then bill was incorrect twice but it was rectified in the end. The bar staff didn't have a clue with what they were doing. They did however manage to talk to each other and text on phones while we were waiting for an order of coffee

Review 114:greeted by staff on arrival room was great

Review 115:Missed the heated spa...it has been removed since last visit. The Buffet evening meal is rather expensive if you don't like seafood. Loved everything else...would probably prefer to miss out on the evening buffet in future..

Review 116:Clean fresh & bright. Staff are superb. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are luxurious.

Review 117:Booked an overnight stay for my husbands birthday as Palazzo Versace was on my 'to do list' for many years. First impressions were magnificent but we checked out the next day feeling disappointed and deflated and will not rush back for another stay. Checked into our room to find that there were no toilet rolls so had to improvise until a roll was delivered, in all our days of travelling this was a first for us.......we booked dinner at Vie restaurant and whilst the service was attentive initially, once the main course was served we felt that we were invisible so frustratingly left without being offered a dessert menu.........then we had a sense of humour failure when after ordering room service for the one dessert my husband liked, we were advised that it was off the menu. Such a let down on what I'd hoped to be a memorable enjoyable experience. After all this is The Palazzo Versace !!!

Review 118:The room was a bit tired Paintwork needs redoing. Hairdryer only worked on cool and the airflow devise was the wrong one

Review 119:Decor and food were still special and the staff lovely especially the waiting staff.

Review 120:We could not speak higher of our experience while staying at Palazzo Versace. From the moment we drove into the driveway and were greeted by professional staff to the moment we left the following day...we received an exceptional level of service from every staff member we had the pleasure of meeting. Versace on the Gold Coast and their amazing staff provided the most beautiful experience and location for our weekend away. We will never forget our exceptional weekend we were engaged at Versace. Thank you Versace - Ryan and Linelle

Review 121:I was ask for a big sizes bed and double beds this makes me no reallyhappy about the stay. Also there is a mark on the roof so makes me keepthinking about that can not go to really good stay.

Review 122:Nice services

Review 123:Forgetful staff, cards to enter pool (uncomfortable), have to carry towels from room all the way to the pool and back - so annoying, there should be more towels to put on the sun beds, not just 1 towel per person

Review 124:I requested higher flour and quiet room but the room I got was next to main street, I could hear, and see traffic running next to my window and was on ground floor. I made the prepaid booking several months ahead. The time the hotel was not fully accommodated. Many control buttons and decoration was colour faded.

Review 125:Staff friendliness and assistance. Close to transport I needed. Big Hotel. Classy. Close to shopping and restaurant but not crowded which I can walk in and eat without queuing up.

Review 126:Value for money the price you pay you could at least have free Internet in the rooms not just a free be on foyer. Even the cheap motels in Beaudeset has free internet in rooms.

Review 127:Invoicing was left wanting with charges inconsistent with descriptions.

Review 128:Decor, amenity, staff, bed, pool facilities..... Everything! Management resolved an invoicing question promptly, with an excellent customer service response.

Review 129:Staff were always helpful and at hand. Beautiful food in the vie restaurant. Separating adults from families with small children in different areas of the hotel also a bonus for childless couples.

Review 130:The only thing and it wasn't anything bad but the service in the café off the foyer was a little slow, but the food was delicious and well worth waiting for :)

Review 131:The staff were excellent from the minute you pull up in the car. Check in was prompt, our bags went straight up to our room, which was ready even though we were early. I thought the décor would be over the top but it was very elegant and beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and an added bonus was the spa, which was very helpful in kicking off relaxation mode. The pool area was truly amazing.

Review 132:Only thing was that there's no complementary interest with hotel rooms... I purchased the premium 24 hour Internet and still found the line kept dropping off at night when I was skyping..

Review 133:The service of hotel staff was excellent from the time of check-in until check- out! Very comfortable bed and it was really nice for the room service staff to put tea bags and chocolates at night.. There's even a card of weather forecasting for the next day!

Review 134:Nothing , except the location. For that I recommend staying in surfer paradise then move here for 2 nights.

Review 135:Luxury is the headline of this hotel! Don't think twice , at least take 2 nights here before you leave GoldCoast.

Review 136:For a 5.5 Star Hotel it felt like 4 stars. You expect it to be that little more special and they did not deliver. The room we had was right on the main road - very noisy.

Review 137:Great location and the bed was very comfortable
