Reviews for Affittacamere Elisabetta

Review 1:This hotel has a great location, wi fi availability, roof top patio and my room overlooked the sea below. A short walk to restaurants, the Cinque de Terre trail, and easy to get around. The steps up to the hotel yielded stunning views, well worth the effort!

Review 2:You can hear the trains but don't let that turn you off - you can hear and see the ocean as well. The rooms are basic but you will have everything you need.

Review 3:The best spot in Vernazza, right up on the hill, overlooking the ocean. Spectacular.

Review 4:Climbing 111 steps to get to our room - not for the faint of heart or older couple like we are. Double bed, 2 folding chairs and a very small bathroom BUT the price was good.

Review 5:The view, the view, the view. Our bed was also very warm.

Review 6:Elisabetta was a wonderful host. She was so friendly and informative. She helped us find the best trails, restaurants and even little local pubs. The view was so incredible. Yes there are many steps to climb, however all of Cinque Terre is built on terraced cliffs, if you don't climb, you'll miss half the beauty.

Review 7:They offered no breakfast. MANY stairs but worth the exercise!

Review 8:The view and location was perfect. We received a much nicer room than expected, I think we had the best room they offered. The terrace above was perfect.

Review 9:Be aware there are so many stairs to get there, then more stairs at the end. Very small spartan room with an attached bathroom. No air con, no TV. Could hear the chairs moved around above us on the roof when neighbours were up there. Two lots of church bells every 1/2 hour and one lot seemed like they were in the tower next door. In retrospect, I would stay on the main street, and walk up one of the many pathways of stairs to see the view.

Review 10:We chose this one for the view, which was great, once you made it up the stairs.

Review 11:We enjoyed the location, we loved the view and we felt that this is a great place to start your vacation. However simple, and as usual, some too many stairs up, the climb up to the terrace is worth its while. Vernazza embraced all along.

Review 12:My partner slipped on the internal stairs forward in the morning going to the bathroom and spent the whole day in bed battered, bruised and a split head which should have had stiches. We only had 2 nights. A few more grip tape on the treads and a better handrail may help in the future. The hosts were very apologetic but it was not there fault.

Review 13:Great location with a fantastic View. Just be careful of the internal stairs in the first apartment. Make use of the roof top terrace as you will have it to yourself. The stair climb to the accommodation from the main street isn't a problem....just take your time. Turn left into the ally at the pharmacy (also on the left side ) and follow it up and keep to your left at the first split.

Review 14:More than 100 stairs up, but was well-worth it for the view plus we had help from kind people with our luggage :-)

Review 15:Fantastic views from upper deck, lovely staff (Giuseppe), warm welcome, well-appointed room including kettle for tea and small fridge, great location

Review 16:There was no one waiting to check us in and I was left standing in the street for about 10 minutes before Joseph arrived. The fridge didn't work, our room was only given a quick vacuum and not cleaned. Tea, coffee was not renewed. No one arrived to check us out and no instructions had been given about where to leave the key. 140 steps from the road to the room is a lot with bags. Take advantage of the bag transport from the station - €3 well spent!

Review 17:There was a lovely view from the room and top deck.

Review 18:The room is alright, shower is small with curtain, could be better.

Review 19:The location is amazing, on top of Vernazza. Our room had view on the rooftops, the sea and Monte rosso, plus we had a terrace on top of it.

Review 20:Beautiful view. Well worth the long climb of steps. Elisabetta was very accommodating and helpful - a great host! Even with the extreme heat wave, the evening breeze off of the water kept us cool.

Review 21:We were prepared for the hike up to the room for its view but the room is just way too small to be comfortable. No AC that we had to left our room open for at least an hour to get the warm air out before we can sleep.

Review 22:Great views of Vernazza from the roof top terrace.

Review 23:Nothing. Would stay here again if visiting Vernazza! Just be prepared for the steep climb up to the hotel! But it is well worth it for the view you have once you get there!!!!

Review 24:When we arrived, no one was there and there was a note outside our room with our name on it and the key in the door. Went in, got settled and soon Joseph, the owner arrived. Very friendly man, that showed us the property, the terrace above and pointed out landmarks and a lovely restaurant just above us that we went to later on his recommendation to watch the sunset. Made to feel very welcome and like a long lost relative! He checked in on us several times throughout our stay, but never in an obtrusive way. No A/C in room, but with the windows open, the mediterranean breezes blowing and the waves crashing below, it was perfect. Little fridge in the room and nice balcony outside, so we had breakfast that we had bought from down in the village and coffee provided in the room outside each morning. Limoncello on the terrace in the evening. Beautiful!

Review 25:Beautiful view from the room of the ocean. We had a roof top patio that was amazing for sipping wine on and having breakfast. The roof top patio made our stay in Vernazza it was wonderful. Location pretty easy to find as well

Review 26:I'm 61. Getting the luggage up and down the stairs was a challenge. I would have gladly paid for some help.

Review 27:It was a great location and a wonderful tiny space. You could see the ocean and the town from the three balconies.

Review 28:Excellent host, wonderful location and stunning town! The room was airy with better views than could have been expected. Elisabetta was over accommodating and offered any advice we needed!

Review 29:Deposit your lugagge at station and pack light up. The staircases up is fine without the lugagges.

Review 30:The location. The view. Everything. I can hear the sea waves crashing outside the window. Stars shining in the skies. Best place ever. I love it so much.

Review 31:Owner refused visa card and demanded cash. We had beautiful deck above our room. Neighbors had loud all night party. Ignored our request to tone it down. Owners no where to be found. I recommend find a different place to stay in this incredible town.

Review 32:View was awesome.

Review 33:It was OK for us but in our room you must be very sure footed at the stairs to the bedroom and the deck entrance. A U.S. building inspector would have a field day here! No kids!

Review 34:Location, location and VIEW!

Review 35:We were greeted by Elisabetta who spoke excellent English and offered many helpful tips on where to go, to eat and to buy wine. The rooftop terrace view is pretty close to fairytale amazing. The room is smallish, mostly filled with the queen bed, bathroom with shower is good, small fridge, kettle, some cutlery and wine glasses, safe and secure. Not for you if you can't climb stairs, this would apply to almost all of Vernazza though. Loved it!

Review 36:The wifi did not work for me. But I didn't need the Internet.

Review 37:This place is perfect if you want a perfect view of the town. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Room was tiny but we didn't really care since we were not in it much. We left our bags at the bag drop at the train station and had them delivered for 3 euro a bag. Given the stairs we are glad we did this!

Review 38:Directions from train station weren't entirely clear (go left at pharmacy, up the stairs, left at the Y and continue up-up-up!

Review 39:The owner was so friendly and helpful. The views of the ocean from our room and the roof top terrace were wonderful!

Review 40:The bed wasn't as clean as you would have expected and in fact didn't smell that good!

Review 41:The apartment was located in the centre and up high so the views out to sea and over the town were fantastic.

Review 42:Best view!! I can't underscore that enough. The trek up to the top was a fun challenge too. The owners were outstanding and incredibly responsive. I'd stay again in a heart beat.

Review 43:Fridge is a basic one only suitable for small items like drinks, but don't expect it to be too cold. Go to the railway station for information on the walks as they are helpful.

Review 44:Our hosts were friendly. The location is not far from the station, but requires a reasonable level of mobility to get up the steep steps. The room is small but clean, tidy and warm and overlooks the beach on the southern side of Vernazza. Sunset is magnificent from the room or rooftop terrace.

Review 45:Told that room would be serviced and towels changed each day. First day no one serviced the room. Second day room was serviced but again no fresh towels. This was no big deal for us, we just dried the towels where we could. Figure it was just a slip up for some unknown reason. Bouncy bed.

Review 46:New that the room was small and simply appointed which is expected in the area, but the inclusion of a kettle to make a cup of tea at any time was fantastic. Please tell the rest of Europe about this simple pleasure. Fantastic location with views over the town and sea. Friendly and helpful welcome. Listening to the sea all night .... magic.

Review 47:the location was stunning, the owner very friendly and the room very clean. Plenty of nice little shops and restaurants just a minute away. Felt like home.

Review 48:Everything else. The owners are rude and only interested in getting your money. We were asked for payment before we even got to the room. After climbing 112 stairs we were not even allowed to catch our breath before Joseph was demanding payment (cash only) this should tell you something. They are not a B & B so they should not advertise as such. They were having a water issue in another room so Joseph and his daughter, Elisabetta were fighting right in front of us. We tried to ask a question about the market hours and Joseph decided we went to far and suggested we leave. We were the only guests so apparently this is how they deal with people. He did calm down when he realized we were only asking a question, but both he and his daughter continued to be rude and unhelpful. There was no balcony as stated in my confirmation and we had great views, out of our small window. They are selling themselves as a nice experience and they only have a view. The room was extremely small even by Europe standards and the shower awful ( so small the curtain sticks to you while you try to wash )and the bed even worse. If this was half the price it would still be a rip-off. Only stay here if you enjoy paying for abuse by the owners and climbing 112 steps to get it.

Review 49:the view

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:What a view! We didn't want to leave the place, got wine and snacks from the market and spent all our time there basically. The room was nice too with all amenities provided.

Review 52:There are 112 steps from the Main Street to reach the room, but worth it. A little small.

Review 53:Views and windows right over the beach. Fantastic rooftop patio, right at the top of town. Good value for the location.

Review 54:This place is all about location! The rooms overlook the town and the sea, have a great sea breeze, and are a short walk from town (with lots of steps- but fewer than some places and they get you up high for the great view). Our room was simple, small, very clean and had everything we needed (tea, coffee, small frig, utensils, outdoor deck chairs...). Elisabetta was very welcoming, helpful and full of local knowledge. We drove from France and parked in Levanto which is 2 train stops away (no parking in Vernazza). The parking lot is adjacent to the train station and costs 10.80 Euro per day (buy multiple tickets and line them up on your dashboard if you are staying multiple days). We bought bread, cheese, olives... and had breakfast on the rooftop terrace daily- great for happy hour too! The area is lovely and we would definitely stay with Elisabetta again!

Review 55:It was 110 steps up to our room from the street and a steep spiral staircase led to the roof top terrace so only appropriate for someone fit and agile! The room was tiny and oddly configured but cute.

Review 56:The view from our room and the view from the communal terrace was magnificent. It was close to the train station and right near the main street to the harbor. You could hear the waves crashing below. It was unique.

Review 57:The loveliest place we have ever stayed. Very easy to find, I was emailed directions and sent a youtube link showing a video of how to get there. It's really not that many steps and clearly like everyone says well worth it. We drove from Venice and Giuseppe gave us guidance along the way and told us where to park for free in Lepanto ( we were advised that if getting there by car to get train from Lepanto which is only 2 stop to Vernazza). The room has a view with a balcony terrace with incredible views and you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The room was bright, fresh and modern and the bathroom had a shower with good water pressure. Little fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, bottle opener and some cutlery in the room.Would definitely come again and recommend to everyone. Grazie mille e arrivederci

Review 58:The sea view from the top roof is amazing and If you open the window you would see the beautiful sea from the room too.The wifi is good and the shower water is stable. Go straight ourside the station and turn left at the first corner which is the way trecking to the Corniglia. After a few steps by the left side ,you would see the logo and the name of the hotel. The hotel can't provide breakfast ,but it is many restaurants along the main street.

Review 59:120 stairs up from Main street - hard the first time, not so bad after the second day.

Review 60:VIEW, Balcony, helpful owner (did my laundry for free) Restaurant suggestions. "Everyone" was a Cousin!!

Review 61:Very steep steps with heavy luggage to upper rooms. Rooms a little too cosy size wise.

Review 62:Fabulous views. Conveniently located away from the hordes of tourists.

Review 63:Very difficult to get up the stairs to this location with baggage. We understood that prior to arriving thanks to all the other comments that were available on the site.

Review 64:View and the fresh air

Review 65:Elisabetta was very helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. On arrival to the property Elisabetta spent time ensuring we had the information required to make the most out of our stay in Vernazza. This including what bush walks to try, restaurants to try and how to use the public transport. The room itself had an amazing roof top terrace, with full sea views, which made for a beautiful spot to drink wine and watch the sunset. Would highly recommend to others.

Review 66:The hotel was very close to the beach as well as having beautiful views from the terrance and balcony of the beach and the ocean. We loved our stay there! Our stay there felt like we were staying with my family in Marcianese, Italy. Great location and the hotel was more like a suite with awesome views!!

Review 67:It is a bit difficult to find it when you come for the first time there... You have to turn left after the Farmacy...

Review 68:They had a terrace with a nice view upstairs. It is located just near the path that goes to Corniglia. The room is rather small but taking in consideration where it is located, is more than enough. The The lady who welcomed us was very helpful, she gave us good tips about where we could find good restaurants in Vernazza. They have free wifi, which I think is useful nowadays... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Review 69:Be prepared to take your bags up the stairs, but when you see the view you forget about it. Quite expensive for a night, but prices are dictated by the area.

Review 70:Absolutely stunning view from the window + the sounds of the sea all day long. Room is veeery small, but clean and comfy with everything you need in such a place. Elisabetta was really helpful. She met us upon arrival and gave several suggestions on what places to visit.

Review 71:It got a little hot. A better fan would have made it wonderful!

Review 72:We loved the man who owned Elisabetta. He was so kind, helpful, and have great recommendations. The balcony was amazing and the accommodations we good too!

Review 73:Nothing to dislike about this place as long as you're not expecting 5 star amenities.

Review 74:You can't get a better location than this with the terrific panaoramic views right in a very busy and cramped coastal village. Elisabeth was extremely helpful and gave us lots of good recommendations.

Review 75:Room was small but with such views and sounds of the town! Balcony was an added bonus! Elisabetta was a wealth of knowledge about the area. Fabulous stay!

Review 76:Nothing to say here!

Review 77:Elizabetta was charming and helpful. Lots of stairs to climb, but the view was worth it. The room was basic, but you wouldn't want to spend much time in your room in beautiful Vernazza. What a spectacular place!

Review 78:Small, cramped bedroom. Small bathroom.

Review 79:It's all about the location. Wonderful view and sounds of the ocean below. 114 steps up. The room is very small. It's fine for a couple of nights.

Review 80:Breathtaking views over Vernazza. Rooftop balcony - the cherry on the cake for our last day of holiday! We wanted to stay forever.

Review 81:The view, location.

Review 82:Too many stairs cannot access with big luggage, No AC Wifi keeps dropping off. Very small bathroom

Review 83:Nice views

Review 84:Comfortable room with lovely view over Vernazza

Review 85:Did not stay long enough

Review 86:The view was breathtaking

Review 87:Views were outstanding! Got assistance to get bags up lots of stairs. Comfy room & bed. Outside area nice.

Review 97:The view was stunning from the rooftop! Vernazza is the most beautiful of the 5 towns. Elizabetta was very friendly and helpful.

Review 98:112 steps from street to room. Staff didn't want to know as they were seldom there. Very basic room.

Review 99:The view is superb

Review 100:Basic facilities with a hike up to the rooms but the view is so worth it!

Review 101:View

Review 106:The owner is adorable and very helpful!! View is spectacular! The owner even washed our clothes for us!

Review 107:The views and the sound of the sea

Review 108:Rooftop facility & the noise of the waves putting you to sleep....

Review 109:The situation of the location is geat: nice view, nice terrace. For this you need to climb a lot of stairs.

Review 110:Too much steps

Review 111:Best view

Review 112:The room was quite small but the view made up for it.

Review 113:The views are amazing

Review 114:The location and room were both outstanding. The staff was a tremendous help. We can not wait to go back for another stay.
