Reviews for Kasbah Mohayut

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:My friend from HassiLabied recommended this kasbah for accomadation. It was very well from location to staffs, from comfort to facilities. We stayed one night in a room which has a sand dune view and wonderfull skyview at night. All staffs were very kind and hosbitalable. Breackfast was the best one between kasbahs and riads i stayed. Its very near to dunes, you could walk around them in a few minutes.

Review 3:no WIFI internet in the room

Review 4:camel riding into the dunes outside hotel - needs to be booked in the reception, they had different kind if beer and nice menue.

Review 5:Zero. This place is a gem and we wish them continued success.

Review 6:Our 4-night stay at Mohayut was incredible. Beautifully designed clean hotel with the most incredible people and delicious food. Muhammad (1, 2 & 3) and all the staff were fantastic hosts, always available without being intrusive. We chose to do the camel trek the night of my partner's birthday and they surprised him with a full-sized birthday cake while we were out in the dunes. We have been traveling for over 2 years and have stayed in many different types of accommodations, Kasbah Mohayut definitely ranks with the very best. Thank you so much to everyone there for the best memories!

Review 7:Great location and a wonderful staff. The owner was amazing!!! What an honest businessman! The food was very good. The trip with camels in desert was great!!!

Review 8:Staff at reception weren't enthusiastic, we had to ask them a couple of times if we could go out into the desert on a camel for sunset. Maybe they weren't happy we didn't do the desert camp. Food was average (had lunch, dinner and breakfast here).

Review 9:Pick up and drop off from Supratours bus stop, both were quite early. We were allowed to check in immediately and sleep as we arrived very very early. Room was spotless and there was no sand at all.

Review 10:The pool is a little small, but we didn't really come for the pool.

Review 11:Great location and a wonderful staff. Mohammed was amazing. He helped arrange our camel trek, took us on a private tour of his village, and even helped us save money on lodging! What an honest businessman! Room was great and clean and the food was decent. The entire staff worked to ensure we were happy!

Review 12:Shower needed attention as was spraying everywhere. But just a minor detail to a great stay

Review 13:Great location. Staff were helpful. Good comfortable rooms.

Review 14:A very well run operation. The owner is friendly and helpful, willing to set up excursions into the desert. The staff are excellent, friendly and lovely. The hotel food, all meals, was very good, often more than we needed. The pool was great and there are lots of areas to sit/relax spread throughout the Kasbah. Lastly, the dunes are a 1 minute walk out the back door... so if you want to go for a walk, they're right there.

Review 15:Food in the hotel was bland and tasteless .staff were kind but not overly friendly

Review 16:Great to have a pool and cold beer and wine.overnight camel trek was great with fantastic food and flushing toilets

Review 17:Helpful staff, great location to access the dunes (and climb the highest one!) and lovely peaceful grounds with lots of shade from the midday sun. We also enjoyed a sunset camel ride for two which was really well organised.

Review 18:The staff was very attentive and personable. The location was very near the dunes. The camel excursion was the best part. It was an experience that I'll never forget.

Review 19:We slept one night in the hotel. Unfortunately there were insects coming into our room under the door; and after killing a few I asked the staff for help. They swiftly relocated us to a different (bug-free) room in the middle of the night, explaining that unfortunately due to the summer heat it is a common problem in Merzuoga.

Review 20:Staying here you will be at the edge of the Sahara, as the sand dunes are literally a few steps away from the door of the hotel. The kasbah itself is very nice, the rooms are big, and it has a great pool with a camel-shaped fountain, which is life-saving during the summer heat. The greatest strenght is the desert. We have booked the overnight camel trip with them, which was the highlight of our trip. It was cloudy so there were only a few stars on the sky at night, but the sunrise was just plain amazing from the top of the sand dunes. The camel station is next to the hotel, so you can be on your camel in a few minutes and head straight to the Sahara. The hotel has its own private camp in the desert, with comfortable tents with real beds. They cook dinner on site, and have some berber music as evening entertainment; it is really cool to be out there! Also as our bus left late in the afternoon, they let us keep the room for free until we had to leave, which was a great added bonus.

Review 21:Air conditioning a little unreliable at times but were moved to another room immediately so not a problem.

Review 22:Our enjoyment was the owner's priority; he gave us tours of the village at no cost, nothing was too much trouble and everything was good value. The camel trek was fantastic with great food served at the Berber camp. Cannot recommend this place more highly. Also has a good size pool and surrounding area. Loved our stay here. Excellent.

Review 23:nothing to dislike

Review 24:Perfect location (basically at the sanddunes), rich breakfast, good value for money, clean rooms, comfy beds, helpful staff... and that's only part of the whole experience...

Review 25:The wonderful atmosphere along with the genuine friendliness & helpfulness. The amazing Sahara, the camel by Berber ride & night under the desert stars. Cold beer. Top pool.

Review 26:Some cockroaches in the room.

Review 27:The location is perfect: quiet and directly near the sanddunes, such that you can walk straight into it. The garden is perfect for almost private evening dinner an dbreakfast. Style is traditional Maroccan, lovely.

Review 28:The room was spacious but its construction was left unfinished;a cement floor, a plastering spilled on the wall, a toilet seat off the floor and a sewer smell floated in the room.

Review 29:The views to the dunes were stunning. The pool side was nice, though a bit cool for swim in March. The dinner ranged from delicious to poor.

Review 30:Dinners were not hugely interesting (the same the two nights we were there) and not great value - 12 euros per person with no child rate.

Review 31:Location, swimming pool and breakfast

Review 32:Nothing relevant.

Review 33:Location, you can go to the dessert by walking in two minutes. Personal helpful, nice swimingpool. Restaurant with nice food, specially chicken with lemmon. We noticed that some people were complaining about the quantity of the food in booking.com, but they offer you to provide more food for free.

Review 34:Warm welcome upon arrival, staff really friendly, multiple languages, great food & plenty of it, room was gorgeous, courtyard & pool an oasis with lots of shade & birds, so relaxing.

Review 35:didn't accept credit cards for payment with no prior warning although booking.com quotes credit cards are accepted

Review 36:very attractive Kasbah with different small environments, fantastic friendly service, overnight camel trek,

Review 37:Excellent place for relax and expedition into the wilderness. Hotel organizes camel rides and accommodation in your own tents in the desert. Very friendly and helpful staff. Greetings to Idir from the restaurant and camel guides, who were prepared fantastic tajin.

Review 38:Amazing bedrooms. Good wifi. Great food, especially breakfast. Trips all arranged for you. Their own desert camps. Camel riding guide was great. Swimming pool looks great. All round great place to stay.

Review 39:Everything. The service was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. BEAUTIFUL hotel. They offer rides to Merzouga proper, as well as arrange transportation to Rissani. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 40:I found this typical of all riads in Morocco: WiFi only in the patio No hairdryer

Review 41:Very friendly host, a European More service than expected Good value for money

Review 42:Riad Mohayut, very near to the sand dunes, is considered to be one of the best riads in that part. A massive riad with more than 25 rooms makes it popular, is always full n offers fantastic food n wine. Food is made fresh n vegetarian options r plenty and the staff was very friendly n helpful. They also offer a stay in their camps (about an hour away from the riad). Considering that the riad was freezing at night, we did not dare to stay at the camp. Water n heaters worked very well n i m glad we decided to stay at Mohayut. At 75 Euros per night it Mohayut offets good value.

Review 43:Dinner for four might have been a little more ample, but the food was good and the atmosphere of the dining room nice. Service was friendly and efficient. As in other places in Morocco, the number of cats on the terraces drove me to distraction, but I doubt anything can be done about that.

Review 44:Kasbah Mohayut is an ideal hotel to spend a short stay near the western edges of the Sahara. The hotel has pleasant common areas including two large terraces. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and quite a deal for the cost. Staff was courteous and thoughtful. The hotel's best feature, though, is that it is right at the dunes with its own camels and its own desert programs and camps. We traveled with our daughter and her boyfriend. All of us loved the daytime desert tour in the Toyota Land Cruiser -- visiting a Berber nomad camp, a lake, an abandoned village, a tiny mining operation, a fossil field and having Berber pizza prepared for us in the desert. The camel trek and overnight desert stay were also great fun, despite the drizzling rain! Our trek leaders even entertained us with Berber music after our dinner.

Review 45:Kasbah Moyayut backs onto the dunes and has a great terrace for watching sunset or sunrise. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable and the evening meal was very, very good. The staff wre helpful and friendly. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable night here. It was great value.

Review 46:However i dont recommend morocco, most unfriendly and even rude people, no nightlife, no music, no place to relax in the evenings. High price tags for food which often is not even hygienic nor tasty. Dirty and smelly, especially around the coast between Essaouira and Agadir. Beach holiday is a no-go, better save a little more to pay an airplane ticket to the far east. Value for money in morocco is really unacceptable, especially since locals never treat you as a guest. If you like to visit the desert however, erg chebbi in particular, Hotel Mohayut and its staff is a top choice i can reccomend.

Review 47:The Hotel is the best we have had during our entire ten days trip throughout morocco as backpackers, great value for money.

Review 48:Helpful, professional and friendly staff, who were great fun. Hard pushed to beat the location, anywhere. Our room had a balcony looking over the Saharan dunes. Overnight camel rides into the desert run from the hotel.

Review 49:A.C. should be cleaned more often.

Review 50:I loved everything about this place! Kasbah Mohayut was the best place/experience we had in Morocco (we visited many places) for many reasons. The heat was insane because it was summer but our room was always cool due to air conditioning. Their swimming pool is clean and inviting. Food was absolutely fantastic. Had breakfast an dinner there. Totally worth it! we were very happy with our meals. All staff had a friendly smile - a kind that I have only seen there to be honest. They really seem to care about your experience and it's nice to have that when you are on vacation. The views from the place are stunning! the dunes are right there and it's so bright! We spent one night at a camp in the dunes. They helped us to organize everything and it's a must if you are there. Unforgettable vacation and this place for sure made a huge difference on how we see our times in Morocco.

Review 51:Make sure to bring enough cash or a credit card since no ATM is available in Merzouga. Overal cleanliness can be better.

Review 52:Free pickup from Merzouga bus station to the Kasbah, arranges an amazing 4x4 desert tour and camel ride into desert with a night in Berber tents. Swimming pool is a big plus. Staff was helpful.

Review 53:The wifi didn't work in our room, but that was not a big problem.

Review 54:Kasbah Moyahut is just like a oasis in the desert. Near of thr dunes, is a great place to scape from the hot of sahara. The breakfast and dinner was excellent. Moyahut pick us in the bus station and leave us in the station for free and always was very helpful and also scheduled the camel ride during the sunset for us.

Review 55:(Unrelated to the hotel, but) apart from the dunes there is not much else to see in the Merzouga area, and unless you want to make excursions into the dunes, you are stuck to the boundaries of the hotel.

Review 56:The staff very friendly accommodating and helpful. The family "villa" was spacious and clean, two bedrooms , sitting room and 1 bathroom, looking out over the dunes. Very rustic setting , dinner was delicious in a very relaxing outdoor , open air courtyard. Fantastic breakfast & breakfast room setting. Beautiful sunrise and sunset over the dunes. Definitely recommend it.

Review 57:The bathrooms need some maintenance.

Review 58:Easy to find, reasonably maintained, spacious rooms (with A/C) decorated with rural taste, friendly and helpful staff (they will arrange any activity you might like). The dunes are just in front of the hotel you can either enjoy them taking a camel ride or by having a short walk. There is also a small pool which is a pleasant plus (unless it's extremely windy as it often happens during the summer afternoons). Breakfast is abundant and the food at dinner is quite good (obviously typical Moroccan).

Review 59:The pool is much smaller that it looks

Review 60:The stuff was really nice to us and the location is amazing.

Review 61:Everyone was extraordinarily nice and helpful - thank you soooo much!! We loved staying with you.

Review 62:The staff met us at the bus at 6 am, took us to a gorgeous well-appointed room with 2 big beds, the food was excellent and the service impeccable

Review 63:too regular breakfast, I was expecting more

Review 64:Very nice stuff, nice hotel, very comfortable room

Review 65:Shower is not that great and wifi is poor in room.

Review 66:Very friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. Food is good, accommodation is very good too.

Review 67:Perfect location, nice pool and very good food

Review 68:Cold shower

Review 69:Friendly helpful staff very good breakfast and evening meal overnight camel trip was awesome

Review 70:The hotel and rooms were clean and cool. Mohammed took very good care of us.

Review 71:Some staff indifferent attitude. Need training on how to interface with customers.

Review 72:Lovely place on the edge of the Sahara

Review 73:absolutely beautiful

Review 74:We don´t accept credit card, this is trouble everywhere in Morocco

Review 75:Super

Review 76:I loved that they picked me up and dropped me off at the bus station. Not to mention the night in the desert was so cool!

Review 77:We enjoyed the quiet location, the room, the kindness of the staff, the garden and swimming pool

Review 78:Very nice people

Review 79:Location Traditional feel Pool Food Service with a smile! Tent night in the desert

Review 80:None

Review 81:The hotel is great. Esp the desert camp, above our expectation. 4*4 is also very recommended. The owner or manager is a good and professional business guy, very willing to stay again if go Sahara again. Big recommendation.

Review 82:Given the high ratings and positive staff reviews we expected a more friendly welcome, e.g. some explanation about the dunes, hotel facilities, tours, camel rides etc. WiFi was rather poor.

Review 83:Excellent location at the edge of the dunes. Very good breakfast with lots of choices, best dinner we had in Morocco. They organized a private camel trip for us on a short notice and for a reasonable price. The décor of the hotel is very nice.

Review 84:Kasbah Moyahut is a very nice hotel in a great location - right up against the dunes. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. There is a nice courtyard where you can relax and have a drink. On the two nights we were there we had dinner, and one day we had lunch. All were excellent. If you are driving there is ample free parking. The hotel will organize any trips you would like - a camel ride into the desert to see the sunset, a drive in a 4-wheel-drive car to see the dunes, and a night in a Berber tent.

Review 85:Wifi signal only strong in lobby, none can be received in my room or restaurant

Review 86:Unexpected that the room in desert area can have everything including fridge, pool, air-conditioning, staffs there were polite, friendly and helpful! My suite was not expensive indeed! If I will come back, this will be my choice!

Review 87:WIFI only at reception....not even at restaurant, it is not very convenient and relaxing to sit at the reception. Dinner for Moroccon standards overpriced.

Review 88:Super location with Dunes in front of the House (just walk 2 minutes). When we arrived we were so tired after driving 10 hours and searching for this place. It was already dark and we finally entered the hotel we felt like in paradise, the restaurant in the garden with moroccon lamps was stunning!! We instantly felt like in a fairy tale. The staff is super helpful and we enjoyed dinner/breakfast there. Also the desert stay was well arranged and we had a pleasant time. a good thing is also that the bathroom is separate from the room, so there is not a strong smell from the bathroom

Review 89:Excellent accomodation, pool, outside areas & food. A perfect base for an overnight camel ride and desert camp, which the hotel organises very well with decent camp accommodation, food & facilities.

Review 90:The hotel is well located and easily accessible. We enjoyed every minute we spent in Kasbah Mohayut. The staff is very friendly and does the maximum to make you enjoy your stay and feel comfortable. A place where I would love to go back if I ever visit the area once again.

Review 91:Excellent in all respects. We had a problem with our car which was sorted out with the help of the staff in a very efficient manner. Could not fault this Riad which had a nice garden to the rear.

Review 92:Nothing very much. No complaints at all. The access from the main road was a bit dodgy and the underside of the car scraped the road, but this was due to road construction which, when completed, should improve access.

Review 93:A very nice place to stay - right up close to the desert with dunes on your doorstep. Food was excellent

Review 94:Beautiful location right beside the dunes of the Sahara. Staff was excellent. The staff greeted us even though it was early in the morning when we arrived and offerred us a great room to sleep in even though it was before check in time. Mohamed even offered to drive us to Merzouga to catch our bus in the morning. The camel ride into the dunes at sunset was awesome.

Review 95:Not all staff will serve adult beverages to guests.

Review 96:Perfect location on the dunes Charming shared living areas, lit with characteristic lanterns. Some rooms with private terraces.

Review 97:Wifi is only available close to the reception. It turned out to be impossible to pay by card.

Review 98:This is a wonderfull hotel at a superb location in the Moroccan dessert. The rooms are large, clean and well decorated. The staff is extremely helpfull and polite. Drinks were offered continuously for free. The breakfast is extensive and good. The excursions by 4 wheel drive and camel were very well organised!

Review 99:Wifi was only available in the public areas which get very cold atnight.

Review 100:The staff were all eager to please. The facilities were well maintainedand clean. Being up against the dunes, the camel ride into the desertstarted right there. Being January we opted for the day trip in thedesert which gave more time to actually experience the splendor of thedunes when the temperatures are a comfortable 22 degrees c, have adelicious Berber lunch at the camp, wander throughout the mountains ofsand or just lie back, watch the sunset from a high dune and be back inthe comfort of your heated room for a good nights sleep.

Review 101:The location is a bit bad since you have to take the can´t to go the Merzouga. The wifi didn´t work in our room always.

Review 102:The staff was really nice. They made me late breakfast since I woke up late. They did my laundry, they organised a camel trek for us, and they bring us to the city with their car. Trustworthy people. The hotel is the most beautiful one I´ve ever been in my life and just 100% recomendable.

Review 103:There were some ants in our bed one night :(

Review 104:Such helpful staff. Helped us with transportation and retrieving lostitems in a taxi. They spoke great english and tye food was fresh andabundant. Overnight camel trek was amazing. The kasbah courtyard wasbeautiful. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Review 105:The staff is absolutely excellent, and speaks english, french, arab and italian. The food is great and you can feel really comfortable in a friendly environment. The location is absolutely gorgeous, I'd say one of the best places in Marocco to visit the desert. Just 30 meters from the dunes!

Review 106:The a/c system needs to be improved

Review 107:Excellent location, very close to dunes in a silent area. The staff was very friendly and helpful, make us feel like our home. Value for money. We highly recommend it

Review 108:Busy around swimmingpool when a group is in the house

Review 109:Wonderfully situated near the sanddunes, authentic, very friendly staff. Great service including bivouac in the desert. And of course the swimming pool....

Review 110:An excellent place to travel to the desert, kasbah is located right on the edge of the yellow dunes. They provide an overnight trip on camels to a berber camp in the desert, just 40 minutes there, the camp is actually less than one km away from the kasbah, the village can be seen from the closesr high dune. There you meet the sunset and the sunrise, listen to berber songs tonight, ride a snowboard from sand dunes and jump on the sand slopes. AND the desert camp has (!) watercloset, electricity in each tent, beds with bed linen. As an option they organize a short camel trip to the desrt without overnight staying and a jeep safari. The kasbah itself is big, many rooms with shower and air conditioner, a swimming pool, bjg dining room with swedish table breakfast in moroccan style. Staff speaks english (partly), credit cards are acceptable.

Review 111:Seriously, nothing to complain about really.

Review 112:Excellent location, spacious room with balcony and view of the dunes, very friendly and welcoming staff, good meals, everything!

Review 113:Everything was just perfect! We booked a room at mohayut and got areally big, nice and clean room in berber style. The staff was reallyfriendly! We also booked a trip with a driver around the desert, sawfossiles, an old coal mine, nomads in their tents, had a nice picnicnext to the desert under a tree, etc. in the evening we made a cameltrip into the dunes and stayed overnight. Our guide cooked us a superbtajine and we could watch the stars and enjoy the silence of the desert. If there hadn't been some young and loud spaniards, it would reallyhave been heaven on earth. ;) this booking was woth every cent wepayed!!! We can definitely recommend it.

Review 114:Unfortunately we hit a sand storm 10km from Kasbah Mohayut, it was very difficult to find our way specially the last 2km was dirt track.

Review 115:Location of being in the Sahara Desert and taking walks on the dunes which was wonderful.

Review 116:Everything about this hotel is perfect. The people, the food, the rooms... But the best is that you just walk a couple of feet and are in the most beatiful landscape I have ever seen: Morocco Sand Dunes. Amazing!

Review 117:Nothing negative comes to mind.

Review 118:The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We stayed here for 2 nights(decided to add a night since we were a bit sick after our trip tothe Erg Chebbi desert) and it is the most perfect place to relax. Ifyou are traveling with time and relaxed then this place, located nextto the desert is one of the quietest and calmest places you can find. The helped us get info from ctm about our lost luggage and gave usanswers to all of our questions (which were many). Showers are warmand stay warm for a long time which is a good thing after returningfrom the desert.

Review 119:- perfect location - kind and helpful staff - good value for the money
