Reviews for Hotel Flamingo
Review 1:The extra which must be paid for beach towels, deckchairs, ... People at the reception are not always helpful.
Review 2:The situation of the hotel and the beach. The cleaning of the rooms.
Review 3:No shops or restaurants within walking distance so a car is advisable. Music around the pool was awful and extremely loud some days - had to keep asking to turn it down. Kids club wasn't great for kids over the age of 5/6 and in Italian so we didn't use it. Ask for re-furbished rooms - some blocks were in need of rennovation. Mini-golf was in desperate need of rennovation too.
Review 4:Rooms were well appointed, comfortable and spacious with our own sun loungers, table and chairs on the terrace. Food good although we went out to eat most evenings - very good restaurants a short drive away and cheaper. Pool lovely and right on the beach. Spa lovely. Comfortable hotel for young children - didn't feel stuffy and if they have a good time, then the parents can relax.
Review 5:We were very unhappy as hotel reception was rude, unfriendly and very unhelpful. They did not help with our lost luggage due to the strikes at the airport.Reception told us to solve it by ourselves after 2 days and transfer to airport one way was 80 euro. I would not come there again and not recommend it for anyone else. Hotel price is way to high for such extremely low quality service which is maximum 2-3 star but no way it can be 4. Sits on the beach were 15 euro per day. After paying big money for this hotel extra price for sits and towels is unappropriate. Horrible hotel and not worth its price.
Review 6:we arrived late afternoon and were shown to a good room which was hot. We put AC on and went to look around. Returned to room and it was even hotter - AC not working. Complained, waited an hour then went to dinner. Returned and got someone to come over who confirmed AC in whole block was not working. Said would arrange room change and get back to us within the hour. Waited for an hour and ten mins then called reception to be told a, person had gone off duty and anyway wasn't authorised to change our room and b, no other rooms available! My partner went across and spoke to this new person and we did have the room changed, finally getting sorted at half one in the morning. We were told that we could speak to the manager the next day but whenever we asked he wasn't available! Considering this is a 4 star hotel the fact that a manager isn't available and leaves his staff to deal with customers complaints seems wrong.
Review 7:Location, pool, beach and food all good.
Review 8:Jacuzzi didn`t work in room 504 & after reporting it 3 times still nothing was done.
Review 9:Close to the beach, friendly staff & lovely hotel
Review 10:greeted by surly receptionist, room not ready although arrived after check in non of our room requests were fulfilled, dining room stuffy no possibility of eating dinner outside, overcrowded and noisy dining room, the beach beds should be free to hotel clients.
Review 11:1. The facility was old & poor, the bed broke twice (!!) and the head board was painted poorly in white and looked aweful!! 2. The shower water was unstable alternating from freezing cold to boiling hot - the shower was a bad experience on most days. 3. The food was poor & sometimes the breakfast ran out on almost everything but coffee (way before breakfast time was over). and on dinner you cannot choose your sitting (even if you come early) - the sittings are set & constant though all of the stay! 4. There is charge for beach towels, for the gym, for WiFi & for the sunbeds that are on the beach. 5. The mattress was unconfortable & the pillows smelled owfull (BO & sweat). In summary: It is clearly overpriced & overated!
Review 12:1.The location was great, right on the beach. the pool was nice. 2. The evening music performance at the pool side was pleasant. 3. We had a room with a large balcony with a sea view and sun-beds - was awesome & we enjoyed very much - sun bathing or stargazing at night.
Review 13:Breakfest - no fresh fruits, lousy coffee; instead of preserve or jam sth. like colourized jelly without any taste; platter of cold cuts and sausages very poor quality. Internet access extra paid and available only in lobby. Beach chair and bath towel extra paid. Single room "suite" - it’s claustrophobic in here. No 4 star standard at all.
Review 14:The hotel is conveniently located nearby to see and beach. Heaving double room suite - enough space and comfort.
Review 15:Charges for use of a beach bed on the beach, umbrella and beach towels. Charges for wifi. I didn't pay on principle.
Review 16:Excellent food at the Wild Duck restaurant where you eat if you have booked a deluxe room in Il Nidi blocks.
Review 17:We've had a great time at Hotel Flamingo. There is a general relaxing atmosphere in the hotel and it wasn't crowded at all even though our stay was during peak season. Management personnel was very professional and understanding of our needs (we had a big group of people all arriving at different dates) and was willing to go an extra mile to make sure our stay ran smoothly. In terms of the hotel grounds - there is a spacious clean private beach, with good sunbeds and a smooth sea entrance. There is also a eucalyptus forest which was good for walks as it kept the heat away. Hidden in the forest is a hotel restaurant called the Wild Duck where we had our dinners. The food was absolutly amazing and restaurant staff was super friendly and very hands on. A big plus was the wine list that had good priced quality Sardinian wine. The hotel Is also very kids friendly - there is an entertainment team keeping kids of all ages busy throughout the day with games, competitions and dancing. The rooms that we had at the Inidi part of the hotel were very spacious, clean and had big balconies with own sunbeds and umbrellas. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by prices at the hotel. There wasn't a big mark up on prices for things like water, soft drinks or alcohol which was a big advantage considering the hotel is quite isolated and there are no shops in the immediate walking distance.
Review 18:I used the spa and I feel that it needed to beach cleaner. Also the rooms especially the electrics need upgrading. Soft drinks are far too expensive 1 litre of water = 3 euros!!
Review 19:I enjoyed the hotel because it was so close to the beach, the swimming pool was great, good entertainment and the food was fabulous! The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Review 20:Without a car we needed to rely on bus service with infrequentdepartures to go to Pula. Difficult to order room service or get mealsoutside of the restaurant hours.
Review 21:Suite in 2.floor was big and really nice. Excellent cleaning every day.Very nice surroundings, swimming pool area and beach. Very efficientstaff at restaurants, nice meals.
Review 22:breakfast was bad - there was no fresh fruits or vegetables at all! One kind of cheese and ham, boiled eggs, yogurt and croisants. Thats about it!
Review 23:Nice beach
Review 24:It was early in the season and our room felt very cold largely because of its location -- the (large) balcony never got any sun so the atmosphere wasn't heated. ( Our clothes almost felt damp on occasions!)
Review 25:Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent evening meal. High standard of cleaning in rooms Right on the beach Lovely spacious room ( deluxe) which included a small fridge/minibar Lovely pool
Review 26:The hotel is isolated and you need to really on getting everything from here or the camp shop across the road. Alternatively you can hire a car and go on a day adventure. We wanted a couple of days of literally doing nothing and this hotel was great for that.
Review 27:The beach is great and sunloungers provided by the hotel. The swimming pool is also really nice although the beach is literally in the hotel so I see no point in going in the pool. The food was pretty good. We were in the Wild Duck restaurant which is for the people staying in the suites and separate from the other restaurant.
Review 28:The Facility was shabby. The breakfast buffet is lousy. The machines in the gym are old and not all in good condition. In the evening some corners of the area really smell badly.
Review 29:The Beach just nearby. Very friendly staff.
Review 30:The air-conditioning in our room did not work for the entire week we were there despite mentioning this to reception only a few hours after we arrived and again 3 more times during our stay. It was 40degrees most days and after paying what we did for a suite to enjoy the first part of our honeymoon we were extremely disappointed. The location is very secluded and as we hadn't hired a car we were pretty much stuck in the hotel most days which is very expensive (lunch was 24euros per person). The other restaurant on the resort wasnt open which was a shame as it would have offered more variety at meal times. The outdoor "jacuzzi" was a bit disappointing as it was just a bath with bubbles.
Review 31:The food was great, we stayed half board, breakfast was buffet and dinner was waitor service. The private beach was beautiful although they charge a fortune to use the sun loungers! We stayed in a suite which was lovely and big and had a great terrace with sun loungers, tables and chairs.
