Reviews for Chalets @ Terraced Gardens

Review 1:There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

Review 2:Kim and John are a lovely friendly couple, John even gave us a lift down for our Abel Tasman boat trip. The chalet was a delight, with superb views and very comfortable. They grow smashing cherries too! The place was a little out-of-the way, very quiet and peaceful, which suited us very well. Highly recommended. 12/10

Review 3:Well worth it to be a little bit out of the way. It's a quiet and calm place where you wind down and relax straight away. Beautiful gardens and views and the owners are absolutely lovely!

Review 4:-accommodation is surrounded by an exceptional beautiful garden and with an amazing view -accommodation itself very well equipped (you can even do a barbecue) and clean -good starting point to explore the National Park

Review 5:pretty much everything: beautiful garden, very friendly people, spacious cabin, barbeque grill for guests, close to Abel Tasman NP, free and unlimited Wifi, ...

Review 6:Very special place in a farm. Excellent location, not far from the Able Tasman. Large, well equipped apartment. Nice views. Very convenient. Very clean. Warm and helpful owner. Enjoyed our stay a lot.

Review 7:We didn't stay long enough!

Review 8:Super comfortable little chalet, ideally located halfway between Kaiteriteri and Motueka (you need to be by car). Very friendly owner.

Review 9:There are lots of flies which I think cannot be help if you are in NZ. I fully understand why many website advice on getting insect repellent. FOR ALL WHO ARE TRAVELLING TO NZ, IT IS A MUST TO BRING INSECT REPELLENT!!

Review 10:The host Kim is very professional and kind. The place is very clean and the kitchen has all the utensils that we need to cook. The view is fantastic.

Review 11:great location. so quiet. ideally placed for access to Abel Tasman NP and the nice town of Motueka. Very good value for a clean and comfortable chalet.

Review 12:We had a great welcome from Kim and she gave us suggestions for boat trips and walks on Abel Tasman. The 3 chalets here are in a lovely location with great views. The gardens were beautifully maintained with many interesting flowering shrubs and we were able to buy some home grown cherries. Delicious! The chalet was well equipped with cooking facilities and was extremely comfortable. It was lovely to eat breakfast on the balcony enjoying the view. Only a 10 to 15 minute drive to Kaiteriteri, where the cruise boats and water taxis leave from. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Review 13:I wish some of the windows or the main entrance door had nets to protect against flies. You cannot open the windows.

Review 14:Very friendly people, the room has everything you need, internet was good, free laundry (you pay only if you need to get detergent) and very nice garden

Review 15:The chalets were very spacious and comfortable. It was nice to have access to a BBQ and the garden setting is beautiful. Kim made us feel very welcome.

Review 16:Nothing!

Review 17:Practically and very clean room with a nice view on the area. Kim was very supportive. Well priced for what's offered. Close to the Abel Tasman NP.

Review 18:Nothing, other than I would have preferred fresh milk in the room rather than cream pots, however when I asked for some I was given a jug of milk.

Review 19:Excellent location. Lovely clean self contained units.

Review 20:Sofa bed mattress on the thin side and makes a lot of noise when turning over. The main bed was super comfy though

Review 21:Beautiful place, great little chalet and great hosts. Perfect location to explore the area from .

Review 22:Chalet was a little way out of Motueka, around 10 minute drive

Review 23:Great chalet with comfortable bed and stunning views of the mountains. Staff were so friendly and helpful. You can also buy home-made jams and relishes from the owner and they are the best! Abel Tasman NP was 10 min drive away

Review 24:Comfortable and quiet with easy access and beautiful views. Very reasonable cost and unique, yet convenient location. All this at less cost then an average motel on a noisy main street. We loved our stay.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:The accommodation was silent and clean and everything worked perfect. The owner was very friendly, gave us very tasty herbs of her plantation. We also forgot our jacket and she sent it by post.

Review 27:The chalet was private and in a wonderful setting with great views. Plenty of space and the veranda gave lots of opportunity to enjoy an outside drink and soak up the countryside views. Kitchen provided all the necessary equipment and wifi was free.

Review 28:The chalets are "kind of" close to everything but not really close to anything specific. Had to drive between 30-1hr to get to attractions like beaches, towns, walks etc.

Review 29:Lovely host Nice cottage like rooms overlooking orchard Free wifi

Review 30:Nothing we didn't like although perhaps having a folding luggage rack upon which to set a suitcase would be nice as there was not too many places to put luggage.

Review 31:The chalet was absolutely charming and it was pleasant to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Free washing machine was a great opportunity to do some laundry. Location was nice, out of town but not far away.

Review 32:A well equiped chalet with good adaptations to meet the needs of disabled users. The owner is very helpful. There are a range of local produce for sale on site. It is a small development.

Review 33:Loved the location. Close to all the cool places in Tasman Bay. People were super friendly and helpful. There was also a really beautiful view over the orchards towards the water.

Review 34:The view on the orchard and far the sea, the location in the countryside (a 10 min drive to Motueka and 15 min to Marahau), the comfort, the table outside on the deck where you can have your breakfast in the sun...

Review 35:Nothing! But laundry facilities for guests would be a useful extra.

Review 36:Good views, lovely roomy chalet, friendly owner (lots of activity advice, booked things for us, gave us veg from her garden), quiet but very convenient location

Review 37:Sofa bed was very saggy in the middle.

Review 38:Great setup, beautiful view, very peaceful and had extras like ceiling fan, aircon/heater and thought of little things like plug in insect repellent. Very spacious bathroom and fluffy towels.

Review 39:Location was a drive out of Motueka but that didn't bother us as we had a car.

Review 40:Large private room as was its own chalet. Excellent shower. Gorgeous views. Very helpful owner who got the balance right between being helpful but letting us get on. Would definitely stay - very pleasantly surprised especially as the price of this was the same as motel rooms which were no where near as nice.

Review 41:Located beautifully within private gardens, very nice owners, delicious fresh fruits, veggies and jams available for purchase, spacious fully self-contained cabin, good WLAN, great location for trips to Abel Tasman or Golden Bay

Review 42:Nothing, had a wonderful relaxing stay.

Review 43:Lovely setting on small homestead. Quiet country setting just on outskirts of town. Locals very friendly visited local pub very welcoming . Everything you needed provided. High quality cabin and care from owners, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Review 44:The place overlooks beautiful vineyard countryside and is very comfortable. The room was a great place for our honeymoon trip and we wish we had booked it for a few days instead of one. It would be a great home base for an extended holiday in the area. It is a bit isolated from Motueka so you'll have to drive or walk a few kilometers to get supplies, and you won't have ocean views if that's something you're expecting. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, which we've come to expect in New Zealand.

Review 45:Only 3 cabins. Great welcome, lovely avocados and preserves. A washing machine, free to use and washing was hung up for me. . Views across farmland.

Review 46:You can hear the fridge during the night It's a bit tricky to find the premises

Review 47:Friendly hostess / owner gave us a lot of information on the region You have the opportunity to buy organic products that were made locally Self sufficient unit Beautiful panorama Fast free wifi

Review 48:That I had to leave. Will stay again.

Review 49:Kim the owner was super helpful when I left my pillow behind she dropped it off in nelson on her next trip there! The sub rural setting is quiet and being Spring was full of blossom and birdlife. Chalet was perfect. We went to the local pub for dinner one night and yummy fish and chips the next.

Review 50:Leaving!

Review 51:Owner was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. This place is a gem in a lovely quiet setting, great views of the Tasman and gorgeous gardens. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Bonus is its just a short drive up the road to the National Park.

Review 52:Kim was one of the owners and she was lovely! The view from the Chalet was beautiful, the bbq area would be perfect for the summer, fully equipped too! Bed was very comfy, everything was clean and had no issues what so ever! Everything you needed was there. Quiet and relaxing & only a short drive to the township and the beaches!

Review 53:I have no complaints at all.

Review 54:Great care has been taken in furnishing and decorating the chalets. The kitchens are well provisioned, and the beds very comfortable. The room was spotless, and the view magnificent.

Review 55:I loved the peace and quiet chalet with only the birds songs. The kitchen is fully equipped and the wifi is free and illimited. I enjoyed also the balcony during the morning or the sunset ;) As well, is very well located near motueka where you could buy everything and close from all activities in the area.
