Reviews for Affittacamere Rollando

Review 1:The room was really cold and uncomfortable, So small and the bathroom was all defective . Too expensive for what is it

Review 2:Vernazza Is amazing and the room is well situated just one second from the centre and the train station.

Review 3:The bathroom had a lot of black mold on the ceiling and the vent. I noted that to the staff right away and asked that it be cleaned off. She said there was nothing they could do. My eyes swelled up badly every night due to the mold. One of the 2 wall sconces was missing a glass shade; the TV never worked and when asked the staff, again, nothing she could do. There was a lot of street and train noise, even being on the second floor with the window closed. I had to hire someone to carry my 2 suitcases down the very steep, dangerous, roughly 29 stairs to the street then up another flight of stairs to the train platform. Had to pay 10 Euro to hold the bags until my train departure since the hotel staff office was not open until 1:00 and check out was at 10:00.

Review 4:Near the restaurants and harbor in picturesque area.

Review 5:nothing...other reviewers complained about train noise but that didn't bother us at all...we barely heard anything

Review 6:Perfect location in the prettiest of the Cinque Terre towns (Vernazza). Not too many stairs to climb was another huge bonus, close to train station. Wifi was excellent. We were given a free Cinque Terre guidebook which was a nice gesture.

Review 7:Although the apartment is centrally located, it has the window window facing the main street and it tends to be noisy. However, if one wants to be away from the main street, then one has to contend with a lot of steps up to any property.

Review 8:Vernazza is a charming town, and the apartment is centrally located.

Review 9:Bedside lamps not working. Mini-fridge too loud so we unplugged it. Would like to have know the location of the balcony/apartment - had hoped for an ocean view

Review 10:located in our favorite village Vernazza

Review 11:The train was loud but no matter where you stay in the Cinque Terre area you'll hear the train. Not a dislike though- we had earplugs

Review 12:Loved the location. Very close to the train station. There was a lady who came and cleaned up each day which was nice and the land lady- Marie was wonderful. Very sweet and accomadating.

Review 13:The light on the entrance was not working which complicated a bit since there were many stairs Overpriced, but aligned with other options in Vernazza

Review 14:The location is awesome, the house has a balcony over the main street were we had breakfast outside, super nice Good room and overall facilities, very clean Very nice girl at the souvenir shop (reception)

Review 15:- Small kitchen ok, but a bit old.

Review 16:- Easy and uncomplicated Check In AFTER official Check In time - Our room was located in the center - No train noise

Review 17:The railway station was right there. Trains noisy and swarms of people arriving coming off the trains

Review 18:Being handy to shops restaurant and sea. Lovely walking tracks.

Review 19:street and train noise was so loud and it was hot with no fan but if you left the window open you were attacked by mosquitos. Towels were like sand paper and only changed every three days so because we were there for three nights they were not changed at all!

Review 20:Location was good and good size room with sitting area.

Review 21:Second floor, straight up stairs! However, if you're there to hike Cinque Terre, this should be no problem! It is by the train station but Vernazza is so small, you'll not get away from train noise. Bring ear plugs and you're fine. Aside from bedroom, you'll have a separate smaller room with table and chairs. Bathroom good. Loved the clothes line outside the window! Ahhhhh Italy! We can't wait to go back!

Review 22:The noise at night

Review 23:This was in a superb location, right in the middle of the Main Street. However, the noise at night caused a lot of sleeplessness - the noise appeared to come from young revel let's and from three savage dogs two doors away

Review 24:Noisy neighborhood. Window right on the Main Street. When the train passes it sounds like it's inside the house. Not recommended to people with walking problems as there are many steep steps.

Review 25:Friendliness of the staff members. Clean, close to the beach, the town center and the train station.

Review 26:Early morning train noise was a slight nuisance but wouldn't stop me staying here again

Review 27:Good location on the main street.Loved people watching on the balcony.

Review 28:The location was amazing because it was close to the station. The only problem was the noise of the trains...but it wasn't too bad. The room also needs a big fan for the heat! The one we had was weak.

Review 29:Beautiful room with nice decoration. Very close to the sea with all the restaurants nearby. The receptionist was really kind and helped us with any questions too!

Review 30:We expected the train noises at night from existing reviews. Since the train station is so near, high speed and cargo trains were deafening. Did not bother me much as I am a deep-sleeper but my partner is a light-sleeper and woke up a few times. Bring good earplugs. The fan was weak and we could not feel it, but it was useful in drying wet clothes. Left window open but room was still slightly hot.

Review 31:Staff was very nice and helpful. Reception and rooms are separated but a short walk, she carried our suitcase to the room. We were given a copy of the train schedule, a map of the area and also the latest update/information regarding the hiking trail. She also brought us another fan when she found that the one in our room was not working. Very nicely decorated and clean room. Looks out to the main street and the train station is a minute away. There is a fridge in the room and kettle with coffee/tea provided as well. We were given chocolates as a welcome gift. Bathroom was clean although a bit small, especially the shower. Not a big problem. Looks modern and has a hairdryer. Location was great. Only a few minutes' walk to the waterfront and restaurants. There were restaurants, snackbars and gelaterias on either sides and along the way too. Supermarket is right across, for water/drinks. WiFi worked well and the room was comfortable in general.

Review 32:location is great! the steps were hard to carry luggage up, but not impossible. Need a good fan to help with the heat at night. Overall a very good experience!!

Review 33:Advice to fellow travelers. Arrive at checkin time or simply read the instructions on the booking website (I made the mistake of arriving extremely late and not reading the reservation instructions. Owner was super nice and left a key for the room for me.)

Review 34:Promised a fan since no air. Fan broken upon arrival. Told cleaning lady first day. Not resolved. Never saw person as business kept short hours. Not at business either time I stopped

Review 35:The location of this property is outstanding!

Review 36:The room was hard to find. We had to drag our suitcases up and down the street in order to find the place to check in, which turned out to be a jewelry store on a side street. This "hotel" should provide clear instructions regarding where to go upon arrival. Another problem was that there was a hair dryer but it did not fit into the plugs.

Review 37:Nice charming room, with a great location in Vernazza, one of the busiest and cutest towns of the Cinque Terre.

Review 38:If you are a light sleeper, this is not the room for you -- the train rattles through all night and there is street noise from the most popular bar across the street.

Review 39:The room is centrally located with a nice little balcony. It also has a small fridge, which is convenient.

Review 40:Well, we did get used to the train! But so does everyone who lives in Vernazza!

Review 41:Best to only walk up 1 flight of stairs. Lovely town, gracious people and wonderful location.

Review 42:The comfy chair wasn't so comfy! Hard plastic.

Review 43:The room is charming, spacious and comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Loved the piano. Great proximity to everything as long as you're tolerant of a bit of noise. I loved it. PayGiovanni from the station to carry your heavy bags up all the steps. It's worth six euros.

Review 44:Yes, there are steep stairs up to the apartment, but the room is quite spacious and well maintained. Our young daughter had a blast running up and down the front street, and we felt quite safe allowing her to do so as cars are not allowed for most of the day. The train did make some noise, but that it's too be expected in these small towns (they are only really accessible by train after all).

Review 45:Not the place for you to stay if you have bad knees....climbing the very steep stairway to the second floor was quite challenging. Also, mold along walls in the bathroom was disconcerting!

Review 46:Very friendly upon check in. Did have to pay for our stay upfront, but I had expected that based on previous reviews. Shop keepers and restaurant owners were also very friendly.

Review 47:Nothing to report

Review 48:The location is perfect. Up 2 flights of stairs and open the window to the main street. Everything in Vernazza is less than a 5 minute walk from this hotel.

Review 49:Everything about this hotel was magical. Located just off the main street in a quaint little alley it was absolutely beautiful. It was the best part of our two week trek through Italy. We ended up booking an extra night here. The staff (Marie Claire!) were so helpful and friendly, it made all the difference in the world.

Review 50:There was no communication from the hotel that there is no one to attend guest before 3pm.So that means if you are reaching morning time you will be stuck with your luggage on road. The address of the hotel provided is actually address of a shop!! Which is bee confusing. The room was on level to with very narrow and steep steps, if someone is with lots of luggage they need to keep that in consideration

Review 51:We arrived late at night and there was no one to great us or show us our room. We had to ask someone walking down the street to help us. The next day when we went to pay no one was at the store/ reception, we had to come back later. And for being out of high season the room price was way over priced. Only stayed one night then found another room for 2nd night

Review 52:Nice room and good location right in the heart of town

Review 53:Room was located in middle of Vernazza right above an amazing wine bar. The room was kept clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The noise from the town that some complained about is not an issue. It's only noisy in the daytime, the streets clear out at night.

Review 54:The couch wasn't in the bedroom, but in the room/hallway connecting the bedroom and bathroom. If you're a light sleeper, the trains may keep you up at night.

Review 55:liked the convenience to the train station. Great balcony.

Review 56:Hear the trains all night Never met the hotel worker/owner she was upset we checked in after hours and left keys in door then didn't answer our calls or texts when we neeed heat turned on for our room or to checkout. Smells and looks like mold is growing in the bathroom with the blue bed.

Review 57:Right next to the train station (don't have to walk far) room was nice

Review 58:It was perfect for our purpose. It depends how sensitive you are to train noise as the trains are quite audible as they pass through Vernazza.

Review 59:The bedroom furnishings were so authentic Italian. The bathroom was tiny bit immaculate.

Review 60:The street noise started promptly in the morning (7am) but this was run of the mill - stores opening, deliveries being made, etc. - that were not all that obtrusive. We also slept with the window open so could have shut most of the noise out by closing the window.

Review 61:Location is fantastic. The room was great - basic but comfortable and clean. Perfect place to stay in the best of the 5 towns.

Review 62:Very clean, staff arranged to give us the key although we arrived after the reception was closed. The only inconvenience is that it's close to the train station and our window faced the street. Therefore, it's noisy at night but it's not a big deal to discourage people from considering this as a potential accommodation in Vernazza.

Review 63:Trainstation nearby makes quite a noise - with good nerves no problem.

Review 64:Beautiful room in the middle of the village. The village itself is worth visiting. Though only for people with good feet....

Review 65:Panic when I realized I'd picked a room with no AC. Stairs up to room are very steep and you'll be the one to carry them up. Room window was closed and room was hot. Oh no! Yet when I opened the window, room cooled off nicely and all was well temp wise. We were there late Sept and was even cool in room at night. Nice. However, there is no screen and to be comfortable at night, you'll need the window open. Thankfully no bugs, but bring on the noise. Sounds from the street are fine during the day and get quieter as night progresses. However, that convenient location to the train station now comes back to haunt. Trains run often all night and are not quiet. And since the window is open, ear plugs were a must. However, the town is so small, it must be hard to totally avoid train noise at any locale. No TV to speak of, but you'll probably be busy all day anyway. All in all, we were totally fine and enjoyed our stay.

Review 66:Conveniently located on main street downhill from train station. Clean, comfortable and right in the heart of things. Unexpectedly great wifi. Make sure you read you booking details closely as check in is in back of a gift shop and your room will be somewhere else. Lady at check in was very nice. Otherwise, very little contact with staff. It's the Cinque Terre. It's not the 4 Seasons. No air conditioning. Acclimate your mind, and you'll be fine.

Review 67:all was great!

Review 68:Loved the food, the people, layout of the town, and the weather was great when we were there. Good shopping for those who like to buy 'stuff.' I preferred the food choices and wine.

Review 69:The Cinque Terre villages are small and the trains run right through them so there's no escaping the sound. And Rollando is very close to the station so there are thundering, screeching freight trains all night. We got used to them quite quickly but if you're a light sleeper who can't quickly drop off again maybe look elsewhere.

Review 70:Lovely, well-equipped apartment with the Vernazza hillside IN the bathroom (seriously). Feels like a real home-from-home right on the main street in the heart of the action but not too noisy (except for the trains - see 'what didn't you like'). Owner offers a discount if you can pay in cash, but there's no pressure. She's very relaxed and friendly.

Review 71:Would have been good to have a toaster, or even a couple of bowls so that we could do our own breakfast. Quite expensive but I guess that's due to the location.

Review 72:Fantastic location, nice big room with table and chairs, good bathroom, easy to find (as long as you read the instructions), great to have a fridge and a kettle, lots of little touches to make life easy (eg towel rail, storage in bathroom), Vernazza was a great base for the cinque terre trails.

Review 73:The train was noisy at night. And they seemed to run late into the night. Instant coffee would have been appreciated.

Review 74:Loved that we were right off the main road and only up 2 flights of stairs! It is a beautiful village and the room was adequate. Bed was a bit hard and pillows thin, but we found extra pillows! We liked having a frig, I especially enjoyed listening to the sounds as the village woke up - the shop keepers chatting and the clink of the silverware. Everyone was pleasant.

Review 75:Check out arrangements were to go to their jewellery shop at 11am . I think they have many rooms they rent out in the area which is good... But you may need to ask regarding this prior to booking . Also our room was close to trains that start very early so was noisy . Suggest you ask re location also

Review 76:Location right amongst the action. Good shower

Review 77:Rooms were a little noisey in the as the train station is very near and trains roll through all night, and there was no air con. The bathroom was a little dated but clean and well equipped.

Review 78:A Lovely hotel where all the rooms are more like mini apartments / bedsits than a hotel. Situated in the heart of vernazza with a fantastic balcony over the centre of the village and a short stroll from the harbour. Clean, and comforting.

Review 79:My wife notice the water kind of "cloudy", very minor as it was a hit or miss. Since the train station was near, it can be a bit loud.

Review 80:We stayed in Vernazza for 1-night. We were perfectly located in the Main street. The area was very lively with a lot of places to eat or drink. The train station was 1-2 minutes away which was convenient. Sleeping was comfortable. We would stay here again.

Review 81:Nothing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the room had everything we needed to be completely satisfied. If you know Vernazza, you know there will be some street noise and some climbing - it's part of the ambiance of the town.

Review 82:After reading other reviews, I had my reservations about staying here - but it was the last room we could find right in Vernazza. When the woman who checked us in led us to our room, we were blown away. It was beautiful - with a good sized bedroom, separate bath, and separate living area. She opened the window and shutters to a wonderful view of the main street. We didn't expect complete quiet, but with everything buttoned-up for the night, it was definitely quiet enough for good sleep. We had a wonderful stay!!

Review 83:The Staff_owner of the hotel- give us excellent service, The food was fantastic, Room nice/ big and very clean, svimming pool and sun chairs wonderfoul We will sure be back:)

Review 84:Room was very small, the ceiling sloped and we bumped our heads as we are rather tall.

Review 85:Maria was a lovely hostess and we enjoyed a really lovely breakfast. Thank you Maria!!

Review 86:This is not a hotel. Maybe that's obvious but it wasn't to me.This is simply a room above a store - there is no lock on the door tothe street and no staff. During my stay someone attempted to break in atleast two different ways. While reasonably priced, this room gets a poorreview due to security concerns. It is also located very close to thetrain station (not sure how avoidable that is given how small the townis). It has no air conditioning and with the windows open the passingtrains at all hours of the night are fairly noisy.

Review 87:Vernazza is a wonderful town and right in between the two currently hike-able trails. This room is right on the main drag in town, across fromthe towns best bar and a two minute walk to the waterfront/restaurants. While I loved my time in cinque this room was theworst part (see rest of review!)

Review 88:Friendly, helpfull staff with great location& good breakfast.

Review 89:No shampoo, many steep stairs.

Review 90:Size of room great and bed was a king.

Review 91:Train noise. Train is 200 feet from window. Stairs are almost unmanageable.

Review 92:Close to center

Review 93:Location

Review 102:Noise of loud trains going past late at night Rooms a little tired

Review 103:Proximity to station Location in town great Nice staff

Review 104:Wonderful view from the balcony. Location was phenomenal.

Review 105:Noise of trains. Nothing else

Review 106:The verandah overlooking the street.

Review 107:Excellent location!

Review 108:We loved the location just by the main street, and the apartment was really nice! Cool bathroom!

Review 109:Pas de petits déjeuners

Review 110:Paysages et accueil partout et temps superbe

Review 111:Very warm

Review 112:Small village

Review 113:So smelly as close to the restaurants.... Fish....seafood

Review 114:Location neary to station

Review 115:Boated over to Monteresso Dinner at "the Pirate"

Review 116:Decor was cheery and pleasantly decorated

Review 117:Mold in bathroom and steep, steep stairs to room! Hard to haul luggage up and down!

Review 118:Room spacious, had a kitchenette

Review 119:Toilet & bidet leaking.

Review 120:Lovely town and proximity to railway station was a mixed blessing!!!

Review 121:Dogs barking downstairs early morning

Review 122:Stakes up were a bit steep but manageable and there weren't too many.

Review 123:The window facing the main street in town!

Review 124:Very steep stairs. Not fun with large suitcases. The train is next door and runs by a lot.

Review 125:Location to shops, restaurants and the ocean.

Review 126:Just a short walk from the train station.
